All of the attainable items are benefitary to you, so don't be afraid of them (they won't bite *wink*). Coin -------- Shaped like a shining golden coin, it yields you 5 or 10 dollars that can be used to buy new equipment in the shop. Whether a coin would give you 5 or 10 dollars is unknown, they all look the same (I think). 'B' --------- The Bonus icon. Shaped like a large 'B', it will give you a 'multipier' bonus for 10 seconds. If you do a trick during this time, the bonus will double that score. For example, if you do a 250-point trick, you will get 500 points instead. 'T' --------- The Turbo icon. Shaped like a large 'T', it will give you a speed boost for 10 seconds. ----------- [1.3] modes ----------- Found in the 'New Game' menu, or after you input in a correct password: Championship --- Take on opponents and race them for the championship thropy. There are 7 tracks in all. You get points from placing (like a race) and how much points you scored in that run. Racing --------- Race on any track you want, also against some opponents. You will not get anything if you win, but you still can earn some money found on the course to use for shopping. Trick Mode ----- Go through all of the tracks, and try to fulfill the point requirement before you clear the level. Use tricks to rack up points. No racing here. Shop ----------- Use the money you've gained from the racing and tricking here and buy new shoes, pads, forks, and wheels. -------------- [1.4] password -------------- When you finish a Championship race, a Trick Run, or a random race, you will get a password. Write it down, so if in the occasion that you had to turn it off, you could come back to the same point you were (money-wise and shop-wise) without starting over. Input the password via the 'password' option in the main menu. ----------------- [1.5] multiplayer ----------------- I don't have a Link Cable and I doubt that ANY of my friends are willing to buy this piece of crap to play it with me, and I don't care. However, you can play this with another friend, assuming that friend also have this game. Just link both Game Boys together with a Link Cable and go to 'Multiplayer' option in the Main Menu and there you go. I'm sure you will be able to race against your friends, but I'm not sure if you can have a Trick contest. ______________________________________________________________________________ [2.0] championship ======================================================================== Here you will undertake 7 races, competeing against several other scooters. After every race, you will receive points depending on where you placed and how well you scored with tricks. You can choose wither 'Novice' or 'Expert', and either mode is pretty similar and easy to me. The courses are, in order: Area A: Subrubs Area B: School Yard Area C: Forest Area D: Park Area E: City Area F: Scrapyard Area G: Fun Fair Point Layout: 1st place --- 15 points 2nd place --- 12 points 3rd place --- 10 points 4th place --- 8 points 5th place --- 6 points 6th place --- 4 points 7th place --- 2 points 8th place --- 1 point Most trick points --- 3 bonus points ---------- [2.1] tips ---------- -You can view your ranking in the race - your placing in the current race is on the top right screen (greenish number). -Keep an eye peeled for any obstacles on the path. If you're going fast toward an obstacles, just press A to jump over it. You don't have to always steer clear of those. -Ramps are your friends. use them to jump up into the air and do a trick to earn some points. You need trick points to get a good final ranking. -It is recommended that you just jump when there's nothing around and do a trick while doing so. -Do go out of the way to get a Bonus or a Turbo icon. Coins are worthless anyway. -Always go up straight, don't wander too much around the tracks. -About 6000~7000 points should be enough (maybe TOO MUCH) for the 3 extra points (for the most points in the race). So when you reach that point level, just stop worrying about the point thing and head straight for the finish line. -All of the tracks are basically the same, with some ramps and obstacles. Once you've won a race, you're able to win any of the races, really. Therefore, there is no reason for me to make a 'walkthrough' for each race. -If you want to buy something from the shop, don't wait until the last minute. Once you've completed the 7th and final race, the game will re-start and you lose all of the progress anyway. The money will be gone. -What do you get? Nothing but a 'Congrats' screen. Bah. ______________________________________________________________________________ [3.0] trick mode ======================================================================== Here you will go through the same tracks in the Championship, but with no opponents. Your only mission here is to surpass the point goal that the level gave you. Do it before you reach the end of the level and you move on to the next one. Really easy. All you have to do is jump every chance you get (whether off a ramp or ground) and follow it up with a trick. Grinds are also appreciated. The limits here are very easily attained. You can just hold back to slow your rider to the extreme and hold down A and press B when your scooter jumps up. Maximum points here, and you only need to get 2000~8000 points. HAH! The tracks here are shorter than their Race version. The tracks and their point requirements: Area A: Subrubs ----- 2000 points Area B: School Yard - 3000 points Area C: Forest ------ 4000 points Area D: Park -------- 5000 points Area E: City -------- 6000 points Area F: Scrapyard --- 7000 points Area G: Fun Fair ---- 8000 points ---------------- [3.1] trick list ---------------- U p UL | UR \|/ Left---- ----Right /|\ DL | DR Down Button Trick Point Value ----------------------------------------------- | Up + B | No Footer | 200 | | Down + B | Decade Air | 250 | | Left + B | 360 | 250 | | Right + B | Tail Whip | 200 | | UR + B | Backflip | 150 | | UL + B | Super Man | 100 | | DL + B | 1 Hand 1 Footer | 200 | | DR + B | Table Top | 250 | | | Grind | 150 | ----------------------------------------------- ______________________________________________________________________________ [4.0] shop list ======================================================================== I saw absolutely no change in my scooter's performance when I bought those items.
