Your Cheats file and Your kof 2001 rom name MUST BE THE SAME! (Like ROM name is kof2001, but your Cheats file name is K2001. Rename Cheat file name to kof2001!) Or else it may not work. 3. Open the game as usual. 4. Open "Cheats" option in "Game" directory. 5. You'll find O.Zero and Igniz at the bottom. Choose ALL 4 characters to ZERO! or the game will freeze cuz he can't summon his strikers! 6. You can't reach boss battle. So Follow Neorage X steps instead of using NeorageX cheats file. Save your state and open it. 7. After you beat Igniz. The game will play LOOP again. (Not sure of this, but it doesn't work on mine) -------- KOF 2001 -------- DreamCast cersion. Congratulations! It seems PLAYMORE are listen to us, by allowing ZERO and Igniz to be playable in VS. mode (Unlike that damn in KOF 2000) The way to use him is... 1. Beat TEAM MODE with any characters, This will unlock SURVIVAL MODE. 2. Play SURVIVAL MODE and reach Lv.41, once you reach it. You'll fight against ZERO. 3. Beat him, and then go back to VS. mode. You can choose him by Go to ? portrait and press RIGHT. Zero would be highlighted and then you can choose him. Note that ZERO can be use in VS mode, Practice mode and Puzzle mode only! Whew that's all. You can see more details in later topics. ---------------------- -Who is Zero? ---------------------- Years 2000 / Heidern command base. Operator: "The finals team, Southtown factory area. Target: K', Southtown central. They're too far from the target." Heidern: "Things aren't going as they were planned." Ling: "It's no big deal." Heidern: "What do you mean? Ling?" Ling: "I mean I've foreseen this." Heidern: "Foreseen what? What're you babbling about?" Ling: "Guide the finals team to the lift, will you? When you're done that, activate the generator." Heidern: "Lift? Generator? No one told me about this!" Ling: "I'm in charge here. You've no need to know. When the generator's charged and 'Zero Cannon' is in the sky, my mission will be realized." Heidern: "Did you say... Zero Cannon?... A space based weapon... Whatever for!? The purpose of holding KoF was to capture K' and Maxima, and search NESTS's base!" Ling: "Yes, officially..." <> Heidern: "Officially? ...! What foul plan is festering in your diseased mind?" Ling: "As far as Project '00 goes, you're nothing but an observer. While I... I am it's executioner!" (K' Team / garbage dump facility) K': "Think it's over?..." Maxima: "Not a chance, Dash-Man..." Vanessa: "I'll second that..." Ling: "It's the beginning of an unforgettable event." <> Vanessa: "A ceiling...!?" Maxima: "When did we get way down...?" ????: "Greetings." Vanessa: "Commander...? Unbelievable! You're the...!!!" Heidern: "State your name, villain!" ????: "They call me... Zero!" Heidern: "Zero, eh...? It fits you." Zero: "Oh, you're such a joker. You know, we've met before, that is, I've met you." Heidern: "Now I know, it was you who slew Krizalid, right? What have you done with Ling?" Zero: "He's resting." Heidern: "You impersonated him, eh?" Zero: "A master of disguise, I am. I masqueraded as Ling, and then substituted this clone. Vanessa and Seth were duped by my little freak of genetics! Neutralizing all of you obstacles was the fastest way to realize my plan." Heidern: "So what's KoF got to do with all of this? Zero: "It was my way to obtain... The Zero Cannon!" Heidern: "Stupid! All you had to do was rub us out." Zero: "You simp! I need all of you for Zero Cannon's power." K': "Our energy...?" Maxima: "What's a Zero Cannon?" Zero: "A space-based weapon to use against NESTS. I held KoF to summon you muscleheads here... and fire the cannon, with all your help, of course. I owe it all to you, Vanessa." Vanessa: "You're quite the schemer -- a shameless one at that." Ramon: "Well, well. Will it end as you planned? !!!" <> Vanessa: "You...!!!" Zero: "You can't resist me. I'll beat you all like a drum. Then your energy will be sent to Zero Cannon. Maxima: "How?" Zero: "There is a generator below. Whenever I fight someone... it siphons my foe's energy and sends it to Zero Cannon. And I'll use your power to begin the new order!" K': "Taking advantage of us..." Maxima: "So that's NESTS's scheme!" Zero: "NESTS? A mere front. The creator of the new order is not NESTS. It's ME!" Vanessa: "I'll grind you into mulch. Then I'll stop you're silly Zero Cannon for good." Zero: "Crush me? Stop the cannon? Give it a shot. If you DARE!!!" Zero is one of the best NEST's agents. At first he did follow NEST's project "Project '00" but then he betray NEST and then rob Zero cannon to his own. Then try to erase NEST out of this world by his Zero cannon. But NEST are aware of this and send 3 NEST agents, Diana, Foxy and Kula to stop Zero's plan. At first they had failed because they lost while trying to interrupted Zero's system. Zero notice that they are sending by Nest but he doesn't care. At the end of the battle. Zero failed to send an energy to Zero cannon. Kula is on Zero cannon (How? Outer space?) and then shoot the beam directly to Zero. The temple (and SOUTHTOWN too!) was destroy and our heroes were split together. Ramon is going with Vanessa. From Zero's view, Whip try to get "Project '00" data from Zero. He tell her "the secret" and it seems she's shocking by something in those words. Then she cry and shoot Zero to dead (I think it's in order to release him from his pain) ... Then the temple corrupt, Whip bow against Zero and then disapp "Don't cry, sis. We'll meet again" <> Maxima: " Well, Do you believe K' ?" K' " I do as I please" K' " Are you serious? There're only 3 of us here..." <> K' " That won't be easy" One week later... Heidern's search team found the generater beneath the destroyed temple... And Zero's body too. But "Project '00" data was stole by someone who absconded before the search. Heidern: " We lost a city and our pride..." Heidern: " I wonder what our foes in store for us next?" END OF KOF 2000 *********** KOF 2001 *********** (Heroes team) (Someone is looking at the monitor. Whip: "An airborne victory party?" Maxima: "I sense evil here" (Then the blimp was rumble) K': "Speak of the devil..." (Someone appear at the center of a big hall.) ????: "I've been waiting for you K' and you other KOF victors." ( He dressed black suit. He got his pet... it's a huge black lion. And he comes with 2 persons! One is Krizalid! And... Long? And this guy is... ZERO? But his face was changed. Is that face his true face?) Zero: "In place of him. I will now see how tough you are." (The battle begins. As you can see. ) Zero: "True KOF victors K' " (The blimp was docking at the space station port in... an outer space?) Zero: "Well, we've arrived." (The ship was crumble. This time it looks like a self-destruct) Zero: "My duty ends here. If I helped him, all the better" Maxima: "Just who is -him- ?" Zero: "Go forth and know... Farewell !" (The ship falls into the earth) It appears that Zero you fought against in Kof2k is just a clone. While this Zero you fought against is the real one. However he lost all dark arts (Qcf+K and Qcb+K) but he gained 3 new strikers. Krizalid, Gorgon and Long. They role are to fight against the King of fighters for some secret reason. (You'll find out in Igniz's intro, including the secret of NEST) If he beat those King of fighters, They're just a low-quality products. If not. They're good enough for "him". Zero's duty ends here and his life too (God, Why it's so easy?). But, where is Long? O.Zero's VA : Mr. Toshimitsu Arai (Rugal, '95 Saisyu, Heidern VA) --------------------------- -Zero's Movelist : --------------------------- * means for KOF 2000 ver. only ** means for KOF 2001 ver. only Nage When close, b / f + C or D Jagai Kusetsu f + A (Hold) **Krizalid summon f + A **Gorgon summon f + B **Long summon f + C Zankaze Enpa: Ouga qcf + A (Cutter Arts) Zankaze Enpa: Shouha qcf + C (Cutter Arts) Zankaze Enpa: Hankyou f,d,df + A (Cutter Arts) Zankaze Enpa: Satsuma f,d,df + C (Cutter Arts) *Shikka Koujin qcb + K (Dark Ats) *Mabukousou qcf + K (Dark Arts) Gokusa Zanjin qcf,qcf + P (Cutter Arts) Hakura Messhou qcf,qcf + K (Dark Arts) Zero in 2000 and 2001 OBVIOUSLY ARE THE SAME characters. Except Zero in 2001 has shorter range (He lost his Stand CD, Jump CD, Dark arts and Stand Close D) in exchange for his 3 strikers. But still, The strategies to play as are the same but YOU CAN'T PLAY OFFENSE AT ALL IN 2001 ver. While you can play offense in 2000. NOTE 1 : The change in 2001 ver. are... 1. He has no Dark arts anymore. Except for his DMs. 2. His old jump CD, Stand CD, Stand Far C, Stand Close D are no longer existed. It means he's not very good in close-range battle. 3. In 2000, he's more mobiliy although his cutter arts are weaker. 4. In 2001, he looks like an incomplete characters who need his strikers to his dead. 5. in 2001 Zero has crouching motion, but only when you block. (Only Crouching block motion, not really crouching motion. NOTE 2: The bosses DO NOT have infinite DMs, at least not when you play as them: their super meters are just invisible. However, this does not affect O.Zero's striker summons: despite their appearance and function and the fact O.Zero turns invincible momentarily when summoning them, they are special moves, not true strikers. -------------------------------------- -Zero's Special abilities : -------------------------------------- (For both KOF 2000 and 2001) So, what is this topic anyway? Calm down, I just want to explain about his special abilities he does have. Which is UNIQUE and never-before-seen in KOF history. - His "Throw" moves is uncancelable. What is it? = When Zero does "grab" you. All you can do is seeing your characters stomp to the floor. His grab is 100% works. You can't cancel it! (Throw-cancel = When your foe does grab, Press Fw + A+B) Why? = Can't explain. But he does cancel the other's "grab" - His "Rolling" and "evade" motion is "unharm" What is it? = When Zero does his "roll" motion (A+B) you CAN'T take him out of that motion (Most of characters "rolling" motion can be cancel properly by Chr+D or "throw" moves.) But it still got "harm" motion in it. (When his "roll" motion is finished. He's attackable") -- Confuse? When you / Zero roll. You're invincible!! (Note : Only physical attack, not "throw" moves -- Like Clark's Hcf+D) Why? = Because he's a boss... - Most of his moves has "invincibility" element in it. What is it? = When he does most of his "cutter" and "dark" arts. He's unharm at all. So you just stand there and lanch his moves / counter like an idiot. (This was called CHEESE) (Note : But not after Zero's Qcf + C, It's counterable at the beginning.) There are a few differences elements in Zero's moves. These are "charts". Explained by : -------Move's name. = % to counter /(Good at) air? / ground? / range? / which part? (Note : Cancelable is IT CAN BE KNOCK OUT OF THIS MOTION?) -------Qcf + A = Grabable, Uncancelable = 100% counter / air / ground / close / ALL -------Qcf + C = Grabable, Cancelable = 60% counter / air / ground / far / Upper, Middle -------Dp + A = Gragrabale (Right time) , Cancelable (By jump-in CD only) = 80% counter / ground / air (Jump-in-deep) / Fair / Lower, Middle -------Dp + C = Ungrabable, Cancelable (Only when he's on the ground) = 50% counter / ground / close / ALL *-------Qcf + D = Ungrabable, uncancelable, (And unguardable) = 100% counter (Far range) / ground / LOWER *-------Qcb + D = Ungrabable, Cancelable (By jump behind him) (and unguardable) = 100% counter / ground / close / Middle, Lower DMs -------Qcfx2 + C = Ungrabable, Cancelable (After his 1st Qcf + A) = 90% counter (It can be miss if it hit to shallow) / ground / close / Middle, Lower -------Qcfx2 + D = Ungrabable, Uncancelable =100% counter / ground / air / close / far / ALL About these moves recovery point / how to use, see at later section. ****Original Zero's strikers abilities. If you battling against O.Zero before. You'll notice that all of his strikers are CHEAP! especially for the one called LONG, is the one you should fear. First you must know that KOF 2001 has "juggle" element in it. "Juggle" means the cause of action which cause your enemy fly to the corner and then fall back. The cause of this action is usually by "counter" by "the right" attack. Most are C+D. >For easier, Counter your enemy by Stand or Jump C+D, If it does counter. Your enemy should FLY and fall back to you. Very effective if you know how to use it. You can use "emergency counter" to Juggle your opponent. ( While guarding, Presss CD, use 1 S stock) (O.Zero's is invincibilty at his "summoning" motion) (You can combine any special moves with your strikers. But always remember, combine with strikers will prevent the damage you just deal. Krizalid tone it down to 3/4, Gorgon tone it down for 3/5 and Long for 1/2. Except for Long > Hakura Messhou (Deals only little damage) (All Striker can be kick out.... They're attackable at everytime... Be wise) -Krizalid abilities. Fw + A Krizalid jumps in, waiting for 1 minute and then execute his Qcf + C (Typoon rage) which doesn't reflect any fireball but erase it. If it does hit, your enemy will floating. Deals 3 hits. -Gorgon summon Fw + B Gorgon jumps in from the upper part of the screen. Easy and the easiest to avoid. Charge for 2 seconds and the attack. Very fast but not that useful. Only when enemy is offensive > You summon Gorgon > You're hit > Enemy is hit too! If it does hit, your enemy will floating. -Long summon Fw + C Long will Morph into the stage. (Someone call him "Zombies"...) Then hooking his arms to you .It looks much like chinese Kung Fu... "Patanka punch?" I remember it in Jacky Chan's 1st movie... His enemy use it... Oh back to the striker. It charge for 3 seconds but the range is about 4/5 of the screen. If your enemy block, He'll completely neutrolized it by breaking it! If your enemy doesn't block it. It will cause "Juggle". Does near to no damage but useful. Work best with "Hakura Messhou" but deals only little damage. Fw + C (Summon) > Hakura Messhou (Gokusa Sanjin) ------------------------------------------------------------ -Zero's advantage and Disadvantage : ------------------------------------------------------------ * = 2001 ver. only Advantage : -He's a god of Jump CD, -Very deadly if combined with striker (As a teammate) -His moves was fast and ranged. His priorty is almost beyond EVERYTHING in this game. -He has "Full screen" DM. "Hakura Messhou"... -If his DMs does "counter" = Other's SDMs... -Plus, he can fill his Gauge to FULL in 2 cutter arts. -He got 2 unblockable moves. One was as cheap as hell. -His stamina was 2x compare to the others. -Most of his moves have "100%" counter element. Except for Qcf + C *-In 2001, His moves need 4 times to hit you and... kill you. *-All of his moves & DMs deal more damage more than before. *-"Rhino in disguise" stamina. Need 2 R-2 characters to fought against. *-Can perform impossible combo with his strikers... Cheaper than before. Disadvantage : -Terrible recovery point. This is what makes Zero famous. (Beat or Beaten, everyone loves to fight against him. Cuz it's fun to fight against him) Especially after is "cutter arts" -His Dp + C and Qcf + C didn't deal amount of damage as it should be. It's not t at good and it leaves a BIG open space... -Not very good with "combo"... Only follow it from C button or Chr + A or C... A chain" ability is what makes him good. -His strats was based on "Defend". Not "Offend" . You have to be good with him to lay against the others. Or you should use Kyo, Vanessa or anyone you're good with. lay as Zero and Loose = ultra shame. *-In 2001 he lost his 2 dark arts and I think his old Qcf+D is more useful than Long! *-Not very mobility. He lost his old Stand C+D, Jump C+D, 2 dark arts, in exchange for 3 cheap striker. If O.Zero can't use those strikers... I think it means he lost his 2 arms... -------------- Buttons : -------------- Note : Almost Zero's button in the air and chrouching motion ARE THE SAME. There're only few differrences between Jump and Chrouching. Chr + K will "sweep" your opponent down but Chr + A or C doesn't. All motions are the same except for it's element. >Stand. Zero's Chrouching, Stand A and C button can be chain together A - Must use. Zero will Jab forward in extremely fast speed. It can be chain to 6 hits! Plus you may cancel it some of his moves! B - Good to use. Zero will "kick" straight with an annoying range. It's not as fast as A button but it can be chain after A button. C - Use it when you can. Zero will "punch" an enemy. But it has a pathetic range an it has "charging" motion. The good point is when they were hit. Time almost "freeze" after you hit the target. You'll be able to cancel to any CUTTER moves. Abd it has 2 ranges. = Far - The time will delay after you press C for 0.7 second. Remember it will not hit your enemy after the time pass for 0.7 second so it's easy to miss and predictable but you can use it as a "buffer" for "counter". It has the same element as Zero's stand C = Freeze. = Close - "An instant freeze", Zero will do the same motion but no "charging motion" -- It'll hit suddenly. Very fast + effective but it still has shorter range than others. Can follow any cutters moves from hereon. D - Has 2 range. One is far and one is Close. = Close - Zero will "kick"... It's quick but only linkable to any cutters moves. = Far - Zero will do some weird kicking motion. But it'll KICK your opponent away without any condition. Use it when you want to be alone. Can be used as an Anti-Air button. C + D - Zero will "knock" your foe away. It comes really quick and has fairly charging motion & recovery point. Plus it deal good amount of damage. Can be used as an Anti-Air button. The range is about 1/ of the screen. ***In 2001 D- Obviously the same as 2000 ver. D. But no Close D. Zero has only one motion... "Far" version. Has Juggle element if it does counter. C+D - Zero release something in front of him, Looks much like Rugal's dark bearrier but it can't reflect / reverse anything and the range is very pitiful (Like Grab moves) It has juglle element if it does counter. (Work on "Emergency counter --- While guarding and has 1 gauge stock. Press C+D) Anyway, it's sux. > Jump -A : Zero will point his foot down to the street. No "stun" element here. (Chain) -B : Same as A button. -C : Same as C but has "stun" element. -D : Same as C... Note : Zero's jump A B and C button can be use to attack enemy on the ground instead of his jump CD. It's 100% hit. -C+D : Zero will kick down at 30 degree direction. Can attack anyone who standing or jumping. Use it to counter everything you just saw in this game. ***In 2001 -C+D : Zero will do the same motion as B or D, but it has "Stun" element (knocking, like almost jump CD) and it has Juggle element in it if it does counter. > Crouching -A : Zero will point his foot downward (chain) -B : Same as A but you can chain it like Chr + B > A > stand B (Chain) -C : There's some diffenrent between stand C and crouching C. First, Stand C will "suddenly hit" at very close range while FAR range has charging motion. This Crouching + C is "FAR" Stand C even it's at very close range. Confuse? Even you stand very close. If you use Chr+C. Zero will punch "slowly" instead of "suddenly" punch (Even it's close, He'll do Stand Far C). -D : This will "Sweep" your opponent down. It comes out really fast and very hard to see. A good button but it has recovery point. ----------------------------- >Moves elements ----------------------------- (Note : All Cutter Arts will leave you a big open space while finished but it can build your tension gauge VERY quickly. 2 cutter Arts and the Tension will charged at FULL!. Be wise or be dead!) (Note 2 : All Dark Arts has 100% invincibility timer from start to finish, but still has a recovery point. Slow but unguardable.) (Note 3 : All cutter arts deal THE SAME damage. In 2000 you need 6 cutter arts to slice your opponent. While in 2001, you need 3 1/2 or maybe 2 1/2 to slice your opponent to crisp. So use them wisely!) (Note 4 : In 2000, His 2 DMs deal more damage if it does counter. From 1/3 up to 3/5. But in 2001, His Gokusa Sanjin (Qcf x 2 +A) deals the same damage as its normal stat. However it deals 4/5 (About 80%!!!) damage to your enemy life bar. But still, Hakura Messhou effects the same way as it was in Kof 2000) -Nage When close, b / f + C or D Zero will grab his enemy and stomp them to the floor. Uncancelable and It can't be Grab-cancel!! -Jagai Kusetsu f + A Zero will hit an opponent's head with extremely fierce punch. This one is an "instant knockdown" but it has long time to charge. Can cancel it from his C button ( Close C > Fw+A> Qcf + C) Works like K' "Iron trigger" (Fw + A) * In 2001 this move was very hard to perform. Because it will summon Krizalid instead of performing it. All you must do is Press F + A , AT THE SAME TIME and then hold A. -Zankaze Enpa: Ouga qcf + A (Cutter Arts) Zero will swing his cape for a short period of time. It comes out really fast but has a pathetic range. Can use as an Anti-Air moves. This one has 100% invincibility motion (Can't be cancel) and it can reflect opponent's fireball back (Only the one which floating in the air) 7 Hits -Zankaze Enpa: Shouha qcf + C (Cutter Arts) Zero will swing his cape for a long period of time. This one has better range than Qcf+A (It has 1/2 of screen while Qcf+A is 1/4) but this one is counterable and it has a big recovery point like Dp + C (It's not that long, but it still big!). He doesn't has any invincibility timer here. This moves is very easy to link from any buttons. 7 Hits -Zankaze Enpa: Hankyou Dp + A (Cutter Arts) Zero will swing his cape while jumping and spinning forward. It has 50% invincibility timer (At the beginning, but attackable while floating) It comes out really fast. Use it to counter any grounds move or "whoops in" moves. Only use it at close range. 7 Hits -Zankaze Enpa: Satsuma Dp + C (Cutter Arts) Zero will jump upward and spinning for awhile and then fall to the ground. It goes higher then Dp+A but IT HAS A BIG RECOVERY POINT! Try NOT TO USE IT!! The good thing is this one can counter almost EVERYTHING in the game. So be careful to use it. 7 Hits **** In 2001. No Dp + C motion anymore. Eolith replace it with Dp + A motions. Looks weird, but more useful than before. But still has recovery point (Better than 3 sec. recovery point! a big one!) **** *-Shikka Koujin qcb + K (Dark Ats) Zero will bow down and sit there.(Grab) If it does connect. Zero will "release" something to opponent's body. It deals a big damage but can counter opponent on the ground ONLY. If opponent is in the air while he does his "grab" motion. It'll miss. Grab moves *-Mabukousou qcf + K (Dark Arts) Zero will release his shadow to grab his enemy. Very good to use if an opponent try to call their Striker / Doing supers which is not launcher / Scrubs. But it's hard to connect and need a lot of practice to do it correctly. This one can't attack any enemy at very close range. It's range is 1/2 of the screen but the attack range is on the "center" of the screen. Confuse? Anyone who stand/ sitting against Zero at very close range are safe from this moves. It doesn't hit, only the one who stand on the "purple" shade on his shadow. 5 Hits **Only in 2000 version. >Super moves -Gokusa Zanjin qcf,qcf + P (Cutter Arts) Zero will do 4 cutter Arts at once. First he start it with Qcf+A (Which doesn't reflect fireball but still uncounterable) then doing Dp+A x 2 then Dp+C. It deals 50% damage at the standard. 3/5 of life bar for counter. It's fast / easy to link but counterable and can attack an opponent whose standing. If they're floating they will stun away and take a little damage. This moves can eat over 20% of opponent's bar while guarding. But it has very big recovery point like Dp + C . 30 Hits ***(Deals 80% damage in 2001. No Counter effects. Deals the same damage.) -Hakura Messhou qcf,qcf + K (Dark Arts) Known as "Dark hole", Zero will punch the ground and create a huge orb of enery behind him. This is full screen attack. It deals damage for 1/3 of life bar at far range, 1/2 at very close range and 3/5 if it's counter. (Deals 8 Hits for Normal / Far range. Deal 16 Hits at close range.) It's 100% counter and 100% invincibility timer and have a good recovery point. The only bad thing is "Dark" screen will delay for 1 second after he start it. (It has charging motion, easy to block) This moves is very effective if you use it as Anti-air moves (enemy jump-in > use) or you can "read" what they will do next. (K' heat drive > use) I recommended this moves to you instead of " Gokusa Zanjin". ***(Deals 50% damage in 2001, 80% damage if it does Counter) Note : Dp is Dragon punch motion ( Fw,Chr, Chr+Fw) ---------------------- Zero Combo : ---------------------- (Individual) -Stand A>A>A (>A) >B = 4 or 5 hits A> Chr + C > Any cutter moves. (Or Qcf x 2 + C) -Stand C > (Fw+A) > Qcf+C = 8 hits > Qcf + A = 6 hits > Dp + C = 5 hits > Dp + A = 5 hits > Qcf x 2 + C = 31 hits -Stand C > Qcfx2 +C (1) -Chr+B > A > Stand B = 3 hits -Chr+A > Stand A > A> A = 4 hits -Chr+B > Chr+A > Qcfx2 +C (1) = 32 hits -Stand Close D > Qcf+C = 8 hits -Jump CD (Hit) (Or Dp+A) > Qcf + D = 5 hits (not necessary) -(Need Very FAST speed to cancel) Stand A>A>B > Qcfx2 + D (1) = 11 hits -Jump A > Stand A>A>A>A>B = 6 hits -(Need right angle at the corner) Qcfx2 + D > Qcf x2 + C = 25 hits (An opponent MUST floating while you execute Qcf x 2 + C !!!!) -Chr + B >( Chr+A) > Qcf x 2 + C (1)> (If you're NOT at the corner) Qcf + D (Not- -properly) -Chr + A > Any cutter moves... (With Striker) BC is "summon striker" 1 S stock, 1 DMs stock -(A.Iori striker) Jump D > Stand C > Fw + A >BC> Qcf + C > Qcfx2 + D (1) 2 S stock, 2 DMs stock -(Dong Hwan Striker) Stand A ( BC) > A >B (Hit) > Qcfx2 + C > On the ground > BC > Qcf x 2 + D (100% combo) 2 S stock, 1 DMx -(Unknown striker) Chr + D (Sweep) > BC > Run CD > BC > Qcf x 2 + D (1) 1 S stock , 1 DMs -(Seth striker) Call Seth, Now grab your foe and TOSS them to Seth's destination. Seth will UPPERCUT your foe. Start your Qcf x 2 +D ... **** KOF 2001 (With his 3 strikers) 1 S stock Fw + C > Qcf x 2 + B or D 1 S stock Fw + C > Fw + B > Qcf x 2 + B or D (Corner, 1 S stock) Fw + A > After summoning it press A>A>A>B. If your striker attack does hit. Use Qcfx2 + B or D (Corner, 2 S stock) Fw + C > Fw + A > After hit by both of them. Fw + B If it does hit at the right angle. Qcf x 2 + B or D > After enemy is falling. Press Qcf x 2 + A or C. ----------------- >Stategies ----------------- For 2000 ver., but work on 2001 ver. as well. 1. Jump CD as much as possible. Anyone who fought against CPU Zero before will try Anti-Zero tactic against you. So just KICK them before they can kick you. No one can counter Zero's jump CD while they're in the air too! You can beat newbie player by just jump CD and CD and CD... Or using D button... 2. All of his Dark arts are unguardable / 100% counter but it has long time to start/ recovery. So you must "READ" them and guess what they try to do next. You must be Zero master to be "The man" ... -Qcf + D is good agaist anyone who has "Projectile moves" or anything which "DOESN'T LANCH" -- Confuse? , like K Qcf+C and Fw + D -- It'll hit. But for K' Qcb + K it'll miss. Because he doesn't stand there while the shadow was release. Confuse? Just use this moves against anyone who has "Projectile" moves. That's all. -Qcb + D is good against "launcher moves" -- It works perfectly if an opponent standing on the ground but it can't capture anyone who floationg in the air, -- Confuse? Like Takuma Hcb + K - Will make him run and grab you. It's always on the ground . So it's easy to connect if they use something like this. But for Kensou's Hcb+K -- It's 50% to miss because he's floating in the air. Confuse? Just use this moves agianst anyone who has "Launcher" moves. That's all. (Only in 2000 version) 3. All of his "Cutter" arts MUST USE TO follow from C button or to COUNTER ONLY!!!! These moves are good and build a Tension gause very fastly. But it has a terrible recovery point. So do not use it like : "Baka me! Baka me! Amai wa!" ... You'll soon be dead because your opponent will run forward to you and then combo you to dead. So be careful to use it. 4. Dark hole can counter ANYTHING in this game. It can erase even Super fireball / cancel any enemy's abilities at their attacking motion. The good thing is it 100% counter. But it's easy to guard if they "know" when to guard / you use it. So use it to counter or lure them before , and use it to counter. 5. Qcfx2 + C is 80% counter , Why? because if his Qcf+A motion hit too shallow. It can be MISS and deal a little damage. To use it you must follow it from C button or use it to counter enemy who stand very close to you and try to do something (Which is not make them float -- It'll miss) This moves work better if enemy is at the corner, Can use as Anti-Air but need right angle and situation. 6. Zero's A and B chain combo ability. It's very easy to use and deal good damage. You can use these moves instead of his special moves. It's safer, deal very good damage and annoying! 7. His Stand CD is one of the most important thing. Since most of every character's moves are launcher moves. If you guard it. They will lean back (Unlike CVS or Street fighters) ... If you can guard their launcher moves. Just use CD to counter them. It's 90% effective (10% was miss because his stand CD has charging motion, and it attacks only enemy whose on the "right destination -- Like Qcf + D-- unlike jump CD) Use it instead of Dp + C... Can use as Anti-Air moves. 8. COUNTER MODE Zero (collected all 3 gauge, press A+B+C button at the same time) is UNBEATABLE. You can perform his 2 DMs as much as possible. Plus they are faster than normal version and there are some combo which possible to perform only in this mode. - Stand A>A>B > Qcf x 2 + D (Easier than NORMAL mode) - Qcf + A , Cancel it to Qcf x 2 + C (1) - Jump CD (counter) > Stand CD > Qcf x 2 + C (Only in 2000 version) ** For KOF 2001 9. He has no dark arts, No old C+D, No jump C+D, Shorter reach point. So your 3 strikers are THE MUST. Use them before your attack and let them lead the way to your combo! 10. You can follow ANYTHING after Strikers attack, remember you MUST summon them before you doing something. All of of his moves leaves a big open space. So summon your strikers before you launch it! (Your strikers can cover you as a "mighty guard") 11. In 2001 all of his advantage goes to Qcf + C and Qcf x2 +D. They deal big damage and cover wild range. Use it after the strikers attack. Use it as much as you can. 12. In 2001, R-4 characters can use 4 DMs in a row. So you can use Qcf x 2 + D for 4 times! Imagine how cheap he is! Against human player in 2001 is a tough one. Especially against an expert (Yah! my bro!) The only thing you can do is summoning your strikers to cover you and then using your advantages to beat him. By play as cheap as possible (Or scrubs) Most of Human player will play scrub against 2001 Zero. So you must using an advantage that your strikers given to you... Hope this help. ---------------------- --Against CPU ---------------------- Most of characters can be beaten easily by Zero, but some of them needed his advance-technics to beat. Here are their lists. (Note : To beat most of these characters, Use Jump CD. After you landed. Press Qcf + D. Your foe will completely locked by his shadow, No chance to escape.) -Ryo = Use Jump CD a lot, Do not use Qcf + C or any cutter arts against him. After he's knocking by Jump CD, follow it with Qcf + D. He didn't had a chance to escape! -Takuma = Same as Ryo, but you can use Qcf + D against him when he try to use his projectile moves. -Kasumi = B*&^& , To beat her. Use Jump CD or Qcb + D a lot. She'll roll against you and use her annoying moves. So do not stay on the ground. Offense skilled is needed in this battle. -Yuri = If you got a lot of trouble against Yuri, Try to knock her off by jumping CD and then Qcf + D. Or make sure you have FULL gauge stock and use Qcfx2 + C to rip her out of your way. -Seth = Use Qcf + D while he's turtling, Use Qcb +D while he try to jumping or launching. that's the key! -Kensou = A jokes. Counter him with Dp + A (Not C)... He just "jump to kiss your chainsaw..." -King = Annoying. Use the same tactic as Takuma and Ryo. But focussing on Zero's Qcf x 2 + D not C. It'll miss. Be careful. -Terry = Rape him as fast as you can. Build up your Gauge FAST and use Qcf + D or Qcf x 2 + D against him. Jump CD tactics is good as well. -Zero = The same character. Use jump-in out CD against him. If he counter you. Back off and use Anti-Zero tactics. CPU Zero decided to kiss your lazy foot for a long period. After he use Dp + C but missed. He's yours! **** KOF 2001. Most of CPU are brainless. So they're no problem here. CPU will offend and your moves are basically "striking" moves. Got it? All the trouble goes to the game boss. And.... Human Player. -O.Zero = The same character as you. Except for he's on drugs. Attack him after he attack you. Make sure you have 4 gauges stock after CPU O.Zero lifes bar past to 40% left. He'll using his "Hakura Messhou" If you use any super moves near him. Not that hard, but still dangerous. Be sure you deal more amount of damage to him more than he deals to you. -Igniz = The only way to win is taking an advantage of your Qcf + C and Qcf x 2 + D. First, You can trick CPU Igniz by using your Stikers. CPU will attack it suddenly. Second. Igniz always running to you. Third. He will execute his moves if you standing close enough. These mean you can > Use Qcf x 2 + D after summoning strikers. It deals a good amount of damage! > Use Qcf x 2 + C to trap him, Also works when he tries to stand up too! > Use Qcf x 2 + D. Nothing can harm Zero in this motion! ------------------------------ --Against CPU Zero ------------------------------ -Use Anti-Zero tactics. How? 1. Use any characters whom can combo properly ( Vanessa, K', etc) 2. Be sure you can use "short jump" (Semi-Chr > Up) 3. Use any striker you want. A launcher type is recommended (A.Iori, Shingo, etc.) To use 1. Jump around Zero with C or D button, Roll Bw,Or hold Bw while jumping tight and see. He'll use Dp + C. But hey you can guard it. It's time to payback! 2. If it does connected. Zero will guard your Jump D or C and try to use Dp + C or Qcf + C. This is a chance. Press RUN motion and combo Zero. (Beware for Dark hole moves or Qcf + A) 3. If above idea doesn't work. Use Small-jump C or D. After Zero guard your Jump CD. Launch your Striker now! CPU is stupid enough to hitted by Strikers (CPU will release GUARD motion). Then go combine with your Striker. Easy and effective. 4. DO NOT counter Zero after he finished his "Dark hole" DM, There is almost no recovery point for this moves (Only 1 second) BE CAREFUL! 5. To stand against Zero / Try something like you're in Street fighters game or old school = You're a dead meat. Zero was designed to be Anti-Scrub. Only the one who jump / combo a lot can beat him. Consider that he's the "tester" 6. DO NOT summon striker without A or C button. You MUST punch / use any moves against him before summoning your striker. Zero will launch his Qcf + D to you. Or even worse, Dark hole. After you know how to hang in there. It's THAT easy to beat him. Because CPU is stupid. He will not launch his DMs (Dark Hole) if you didn't meet his condition. Unlike O.Zero in 2001. Whose on DRUGS. All he got is the best moves and DMs in the game, but he don't know how to use it. Even on LV. 8... *** In KOF 2001 The things are changed.... 1. He has more stamina than before. You needed 2 R-2 characters to beat him. Or they can deal very LITTLE damage to O.Zero. 2. He deals amount of damage more than before. Hitting by his cloak for 3 1/2 times = dead meat. 3. It seems he's on drugs. (If you play KOF 2001 you'll see why) O.Zero's pattern > Stand there and Dp + A, C or Qcf + A , C > Summon any strikers. or summon Long > Qcf x 2 + D the only way to evade this... you must use "emergency evasion" (After you block it, Press Fw + A+C or Bw + A+C and then block again. > Running and then use his cutter arts. > If you standing too close to him. He'll execute his Qcf x 2 +C DM to you. You can use "Emergency evasion" to evade this, too. Then strike back. > If you're ducking. He use his Fw + A, which is unblockable while crouching. > If you're standing. He'll use his "CHAIN" combo (Cr + B > Cr + A > B) So? How to beat him? it's simply much easier than before. DO NOT JUMP OR RUNNING TO HIM. Just Sit there and he'll walking to you. He'll use his Fw + A or something like Cr + A (I know you can block it.) After than he'll use one of his cutter arts. THIS IS A CHANCE! Run in and combo or execute any moves / DMs / SDM to him as fast as you can. Know all his pattern... He's a pitifully easy boss. Maybe easier than 2000. (C.Zero got more brain... For a proof. Play KOF 2001 by yourself!!!) Finally, you'll notice that you shouldn't beat O.Zero... For fight against this CHEAPO!!! Well, that's all folks. It's a shame that you can't use him on DC console. But my FAQs here can be use properly on PC or every console. On DC console you may use my FAQ as a way to train "Anti-Zero" tactics, by set CPU to be Zero and fight against him...
