To do this, you must race a series of rally races, thirty four to be exact. You will need to finish with as many points as you possibly can to become the Rally Champion. Check out the points system in the Driving Strategies section to see how well you should be doing. This game is actually pretty difficult so don't be surprised if you don't finish well at the beginning. This game takes a lot of practice, but keep at it! _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ---3. - T R A C K S CR03--- _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This section will include all of the tracks. Each track has three seperate sections, they will be listed as SS1, SS2, and SS3. However, there are a few tracks that have more sub-tracks. The tracks with a fourth race is Safari, Tour De Corse, 1000 Lakes, and Cote D'Ivoire. These are the locations of each track. Just note that there's really no difference in them except for the fact that they get harder as you go on. To the right of each track is the terrain so you know what type of tires to use. Here are the tracks: Monte Carlo - Tarmac Swedish - Snow Portugal - Gravel Safari - Gravel Tour De Corse - Tarmac Acropolis - Gravel Argentina - Gravel 1000 Lakes - Gravel Cote D'Ivoire - Gravel Rac - Gravel _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ---4. - D R I V I N G S T R A T E G I E S CR04--- _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Game Modes The only real mode that will allow you to drive is Championship mode. However, there are three different levels of difficulty, or groups. The three groups are N, A, and S, respectively. N is the easiest mode. It will not include any obstacles on the courses. A is the normal difficulty. This group will put one overturned car on the track. The N group is the most difficult. The N group will have two crashed cars on each track. I will list where all of the overturned cars are in the track layouts. Some tracks won't have any no matter what mode you race in. Turning Turning is really basic and doesn't have a big learning curve at all. Just race a few races and you'll get the hang of it rather quickly. You don't even have to slow down while making these turns, not even on the hairpin turns. One main thing to remember is to start to turn a little early. Just remember not to turn too early or you'll go straight into the wall. Drifting I don't really see the point of drifting. It's really just a way to try to be fancy and it isn't too easy. What you have to do is hold B and you will drift. You will slide for about five seconds or until you let go of the B buton, whatever happens first. You do get a small boost if you do it quickly enough. However, it's hard to get used to so I don't blame you if you don't drift often. Reverse Let's face it, nobody's perfect. As a result, one might get stuck in the wall fairly easily. There is only one way of getting away from the wall, and it isn't pretty. You'll have to reverse out of there. In order to do that, let go of everything and press down to go in reverse. Back up enough to get away from the wall and let go of everything again. Press up to go back into drive and quickly speed down the track. Obstacles Certain tracks have obstacles scattered throughout them. There will be cars crashed in random areas throughout the tracks. They don't even appear in the same spots throughout each time you repeat a track. They really are completely random. The best way to avoid these are to stay in the center of the track at all times. The cars will have crashed along the walls so if you stick to the center of the track, you will see crashed cars coming. Damage Your car inflicts a certain amount of damage every time you hit a wall or another crashed car. That is why there are random crashed cars scattered throughout the tracks. It does take a lot of damage to wreck your car so unless you hit the wall on every corner, you should be fine. Just be a little cautious before you wreck the car. Once you see the car is getting cracks all over it, drive more carefully. Points List The point of the game is to finish first as much as possible and become the Rally Champion. The points are given to the fastest racer at each series of tracks. They add up all the times for each sub-track and the quickest times get more points. Below is the list of how many points you can get for finishing in each position: First Place - 20 Points Second Place - 12 Points Third Place - 6 Points Fourth Place - 3 Points Fifth Place - 1 Point The rest of the positions (sixth through tenth) will receive no points. If you wreck your car at any point, you will retire from the whole track and receive no points. Learn the Tracks You will do best on each track if you know what's ahead of you. On certain turns, an indicator will appear. However, that's only for the sharp turns. I have included a map layout of every track in the section above this one. If you don't want to use that, then just race the track enough to learn it. Either way, this is one of the most important things to know to beat this game. It's really hard to get these top times, I can't even come close to be honest. Therefore, learning the turns and everything in each track is essential. HUD The HUD isn't too confusing in this game. You will always be in the center of the screen. Slightly above the car is where messages will appear. The only real messages are letting you know when you're at the final lap, when certain tricky turns appear, and when you pause. The top right will include your time on the track and how many laps are left. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ---5. - T U N I N G CR05--- _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ There isn't much to tuning in this game, but I thought I would include this section anyways. You can only change tires, intakes, and your drive train. The only tires available are tarmac, gravel, and snow. You can see what type of track it is to the left of the machine listing so you know what tires to use. Just pay attention to the weather for today so you know whether to use snow tires or not. The only two intakes available are normal and turbo, just take turbo. The only two drive trains you can use are two wheel drives and four wheel drives. I suggest taking the four wheel drive. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ---6. - O P P O S I T I O N CR06--- _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This is the section where I will include the other cars you have to compete against. They generally race randomly, meaning that one person won't always dominate. However, some people generally race a little better than others on average. I will list on average the best to worst racers. C. Sign M. Beer J. Canyon S. Mach T. Salon M. Alain K. Exson W. Rule H. If you're looking for similar games, try Super Sprint, Micro Machines, or Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat. This is probably the worst game of those three but it's still fun.
