Please contact me by: implode@ccgplayers.com ** **certain other copyrights are NOA, and Tegen/Atari who ** **created this game! ** ************************************************************ Revision 1.0 02/03/01 ___________________________________________________________ 2.0 ************** ** Object ** ************** You and your band of 4 character (2 at a time playing), try to accumulate treasures to improve stats, raise levels, and rescue the sacred orb that was stolen by progressing through the guantlet. However an evil wizard has hidden clues to his vault and you need to find clues in order to order to unlock the vault. The vault contains the dragon and the orb. 3.0 ************* ** Enemies ** ************* Generators come in 3 types and constantly let enemies come onto the battlefield, they take 1-3 hits to kill, and the corresponding enemies take the same amounts of hits, unless you are powered later in the game. Ghost: Enemies that come out of white generators. Generally a weak enemy in terms of aggressive nature. These are white in appearance. Grunt: These guys do more damage then ghosts and hit you with clubs Lobbers: They lob black rocks at you over walls, and are generally weak. Black Death: Will drain you for 100 hp and disappear, this enemy is very aggressive. This enemy can't be killed by physical means, but magic works well. Acid Puddle: This enemy slowly moves back and forth, and can't be killed by physical damage--however its weak to potions. Red Demon: A very powerful enemy who will launch shots at you--very deadly take out fast. Sorcer: An enemy that appears and disappears and is generally annoying. 4.0 *********** ** Items ** *********** Exit: Takes you to next level (or in later stages in circles). Stun Square: This is a brownish/yellow panel that stuns you for 4 seconds. Flash Sq.: This opens up walls (in later levels invisible walls) Transport: This beams you to another transport--pushing direction controls warp dir you can only warp where an enemy isn't present. Super Shot: Powerup shot, breaks some walls mows down enemies. Invisibility: Makes charecter hard for enemies to see, so you can ambush them. Reflection: Makes shot bounce off walls, and consequently harder to aim. Scare: Makes enemies run away from you. Potion: Give you a potion that nukes onscreen enemies. Food: Represented by a bowl or jug +100 hp. Jugs are more easily destroyed by shots. Poison: Gives -100 to character HP. Key: This opens locked doors and locked chests. Treasure 1: This gives treasure/score +1. Treasure 2: A lot rarer and give +2 to score. Locked Box: Open this to reveal an item (or sometimes enemies). Permanent pwr: This gives permanent bonus to Shield/Strength/Magic Power/Speed Gate: Requires a key to progress in a level and/or get more items. Wall: You can pass through these, that what defines the levels. Broke Wall: You can shoot these to open a hole, in order to progress. 5.0 ****************** ** Characters ** ****************** -----------Defense-----Offense----Magic----Speed--Total Valkri: 5 3 2 3 13 Barbarian: 4 5 1 2 12 Elf: 2 3 3 5 13 Wizards: 1 3 5 3 12 Obviously the characters look very even here, however the barbarian ends up loosing out because the Barbarian can't shoot through walls or retreat quickly enough to be affective. The other characters seam balanced the Wizards can abuse magic, the Elf can retreat well, and Valkri is extremly defensive. Another category neglected seams to be that the elf/valkri have better shot recover time, meaning they shoot a bit faster. Even though you can gain permanent stats, these don't ever seam to negate my order of preference. 6.0 ********** ** Tips ** ********** #1 Accumulate treasure heal is based on this. #2 Conserve keys and potions for emergency use. #3 Write down passwords, as it helps you progress. #4 All characters can become good with enough treasure/powerups #5 Certain projectile weapons can go through cracks in walls #6 Death can only be killed by draining 100 hp or a potion #7 Acid puddles are only vulnerable to potions. #8 Flashing panels open up walls for better or worse. #9 In later levels the obvious exits are not the correct ones. #10 In Treasure rooms make sure to grab the key, treasure--and exit on time for a health refill #11 Pausing the game unstuns a character who ran onto a yellowish stun panel #12 Avoid reflective shots--these make things hard to aim and control is important #13 Off screen generators don't produce enemies so use off screen trapping to selectively kill. #14 Potions are best used to take out rooms with a ton of enemies/generators or deaths. 7.0 ***************** ** Walkthrough ** ***************** ------ Legend: * = unfinished. up/north/top = 'up key' down/south/bottom = 'down key' left = 'left directional key' right = 'right directional key' backtrack = 'return to a position you have already been' pu = 'power up' I also use words level and room to mean same thing. Worlds refer to a set of levels. 7.1 ------ -----LAYOUT----- B= Brick $= Treasure Room ?= Clue Room $-B-B ?-B-B $-B-B-B-$ B-B-B-$-B B-B-B -----<><><>----- Level #1 You start in the upper left hand corner of the room. Grab the key and 1 treasure then proceed right through the door. Their is a hidden exit accessed by shooting a wall here. The path branches left and right, Take the left path and grab the key and 10 treasure. Go through the right door, grab the treasure and key. Now proceed along the left path and go down through the door. Take the bottom path and grab the 4 treasure and potion. Now take the upper path down and left. Then go up past exit and grab the food, then exit level. Level #2 You start out in the middle of the maze, grab the key. Go through door left. Go down and grab the 8 treasures and a key. Backtrack to middle room, then go through right door. Go down and get key and 2 treasure. Open door right, go down grab key, then go up. Go through door up, grab key and food. Open door left, go left grab key and treasure. Open door left, get 3 treasure and key. Go through door down. Follow path down, and go right for 8 more treasure past exit. Backtrack to exit, then exit. Level #3 You start in the middle of an X path, go up left and shoot out a right wall section. grab the 4 treasure on the inside, and 1 on outside. Go left, then follow path down. Smash break through wall at bottom, and grab 11 treasure. Retreat to middle, then go down and right to bottom section. Breakout the wall, then sprint to the exit. Level #4 <$Treasure Room$> Level #5 You start in the middle of a / path, go down and left. Break the wall out, and go along the wall up, grab 1 treasure. Open door north. Grab food and 22 treasure. Exit EH room, and go right and north. Grab treasure--shoot walls for optional exit. Return to beggining, go north then, shoot out wall north, then go through and follow path south. Take left path, grab scare enemy box, go down and get food and potion. Take right fork down, grab treasure and exit. Level #6 You start out in the top middle of the board. Go down shooting through walls to proceed (note this is a great place to drop a bomb--when you are directly against the far left wall) Take far left path, and grab 3 treasures. Take middle path down, and grab to invisibility boxes. The far right locked chest holds food. Take path up and grab food--now take path right after stun panels go up and grab the key, then follow the path all the way down. Follow path left and grab 4 treasure. Take far left path north, and grab key. Go down and open north door follow path north to exit. Level #7 You start in the bottom left corner. Go north trough 3 break trough walls. Break trough north wall and grab food. Grab 2 treasure, and key. Breakthrough 2 right walls. Grab 2 treasure, Grab key, backtrack to beginning. Go right, open north wall grab treasure and food. Continue right grab food, open wall on left grab food and treasure, go north grab treasure and potion. Open north wall and grab key and treasure. Head back down, then open right wall, and Open north box for invisibility, then grab food--and exit level! Level #8 <$Treasure Room$> Level #9 You start in the middle of a "O", then you walk counterclockwise until you meat at a point which is almost where you started. This level it is VERY important to remember to use the shoot through wall technique if you have a character who can. Go south, right, north, left, south--open door, get 2x food--and reflective shot. Exit room, and proceed right. Go north, grab food, go right grab 2x treasure. Open second room, grab key, grab bomb, bomb death. Go south, go left, then north, grab treasures, go right, then grab food and exit! Level #10 You start in the upper left hand corner--grab treasure from corners of room. Get the key from the right top corner. Go down, and break a hole in the wall parallel to monster generator. Follow hole down, avoid flashing panels (it will release monster generators), go right. Grab treasure and food, and go along far right wall, breaking through to ambush a generator. Hit flashing north tile, backtrack to grab potion, go north grab food and treasure, then exit the level. Level #11 You start out in the middle, and go left, north, then right, grab key south. Open all walls by touching the flashing blocks, go south get potion and exit. Level #13 <$Treasure Room$> Level #14 You start out in the upper left hand corner, and work your way down. In room down grab the key and treasure. Grab 2 treasure and proceed left, shoot wall to expose the fake panel. Go north, then left grabbing the food, enter the room with flashing panels and release them. Go exit room north, then go right and grab the now exposed key. Go south and grab 3 treasure and food (avoiding exit). Backtrack and take the path left. Go south, then grab 5 treasure, open door with key, grab potion and exit! Level #14 Go north 3x smashing walls. Retreat to beginning go 4x right smashing walls. Release flashing switch. Retreat to beginning. Go all north, avoid (exiting here), and hit flashing panel. Grab key. retreat to beginning, go all right. Now go north, and release another flash panel. Open breakable block left, grab potion. Break block go north, grab key and treasure. Go left, north, then right through newly opened wall. Go far right to exit. Level #16 Grab both chests, follow the path and grab the other chests, grab the food and 8 treasure. Open the other 2 chests. Hit the newly exposed peg, it has a flasher panel underneath it, hit the panel, claim the "?" and exit the level. 7.2 ------ -----LAYOUT----- T =Tree F= Fence $= Treasure ?= Clue Room T T-T-T T $ T-$ T-F-F-F-F $-?-F-F-F T-T-T-$ -----<><><>----- Level #20 You start out in the upper right corner. Go left and release the flashing panel, grab the key. exit right, and go south through new opened wall. Go left, south, enter room get 1 treasure. Go south, then right grabbing food take transporter north and grab 12 treasure, transport back and proceed left, hit flashing tiles, retreat right, north, and then left to grab a permanent powerup! Go back south, then left. Go north, open up secret hole in wall (avoid the chest it has death in it). Proceed north. Look for another hole in wall north next enemy generator. Grab 9 treasure then exit level. Level #21 You start in the middle of a "\" room. Proceed up and left. Hit flash Square proceed to warp square (south). Warp north. Go north, then grab food and hit flashing square. Go all the way south and hit the flashing square on the bottom, proceed north grab the treasure. Avoid the exit in this room and go down, then left/north until you find hole in wall newly opened. Open a wall to go along left, and get food, and potion. Go along right side to exit the level. Level #23 You begin in the middle. And eventually warp around the room, I suggest you warp north repeatedly and exit from their. Level #24 <$Treasure Room$> Level #25 You start in the upper left hand corner. Transport south, and head left opening both flash triggers to get 2 food, key and reflective shot. Now go right. Open chest if you need food. Go south, on left is 2 food and 1 treasure. Avoid Exit and go right. Go north, then left grabbing 2 foods along this corridor. Use key to open door north, grab food and take northern exit. Level #26 You start in the middle, grab chest--and open 6 walls. Go left, and open door with many bombs--and generators. Use potion to wipe out guys, and grab full potions. Go north, then right till you can go north again, go north, then left, grab food go on transpor and hold down. Grab invisibility, treasure and ?--press north to warp to exit. Level #27 You start out in the middle. Take south/left path and grab treasure. Take down/right path. Go right. Again take right/down path. Break away false wall. Go south, and grab food. Take the path south, left and south. Grab 2x food and exit! Level #28 You start in the middle. Take the far left looping path, south, right, north, left, south, right, north, left hit flashing panel, north right. You will finish near start on right path. Go left, south grabbing food, right, then north, grab potion, detonate potion on acid puddle, then hit flashing panel. Break hole in left wall, and go along north path. Exit level! Level #29 <$Treasure Room$> Level #30 You start in the middle. Grab the key, go north/right and exit to 32. Up/left to goes to level #31 (the correct exit!) Level #31 You start out at the top of a "\" corridor. Shoot out the false wall, grab the key. Choose right path, Grab black box, hit flashing wall tile. Loot bottom room, food and a locked box with a key (how odd?), back trek start, now choose right path, after a quick branch another choice appears--choose left path, hit flashing open panel. Get potions, and flash panel from locked chest. Backtrack to fork, now take right path and you exit to #35. Level #32 You start in the middle, go north to grab a key. Downleft and down/right lead to level 33. Level #33 You start in north/middle, break the fake wall, and enjoy 4x food. The exit near a ghost generator leads to room #32. The exits along top are fake as is the X treasure chest room. The acid puddle room is fake exit. Level #34 You start in the middle of a "\" passage. Head north/right to room, open it, hit the flash panel. You could proceed all the way down (but this makes you go in circles), instead go for the warp panel that is now open. Now head north/left and exit to room 36. Level #35 You start in top/middle. Proceed toward right, and break walls and then hit flash panel. Backtrek to warp panel and warp to upper north corridor. Follow path right, grab food and key. Then his transporter to room down. Break you way right through walls. Grab potion and hit transporter south. Take path left. Warp left and take potion. Now warp right, exit to #34. Level #36 <$Treasure Room$> Level #37 You start in north/left corner and work your way right collecting 4 keys and a treasure. Avoid triggering the gate until the very end (you are all south. Go left, north, left, south, left, north grab 4x food, 1 treasure, hit both flashing panels. Return to middle bottom of map, head up to now open potion, shoot wall behind it for exit! Level #38 You start in the south/left corner. Grab the key at the first junction continue, right, then go all north grabbing another key. Use key to go through left door, and grab 2x key and food. Take middle path right from beginning then go left, open door and hit flash panel. Go left, grab key now go through north door. Open chest with food to clear right path, enter north door with key, and exit to #39. Level #39 You start in the middle, head right, and down, then left along path. You have to get stunned in this level. Use stun removal trick;) Warp to next area grab permanent PU and food, head left grab 4x treasure, Go north warp to otherwise, cont. north, Go left, south, then exit. Level #40 You start in top left hand corner (the right branch, contains a death and food), proceed down for food, then right for food. Go north, and left, until you can choose to go right, then go right. Now follow path down, Hit flash box, use warp down, then take path to exit #41. Level #41 <$Treasure Room$> 7.3 ------ Level #42 You start in bottom/middle, go north, left, south, right, north, left, south! Exit leads to #45. Go North, right, south, left, north, right, south to exit to #43. Level #43 You start in the middle of a room with transports. Take the middle room with 2 ghost generators and sorcer generator to level #46. Level #45 You start out in middle of a maze, hit the flashing blocks and run like heck from the enemies. Go down, and then left. When path devides take bottom path (top is monster generator only), head along left bottom path. Head north, and then right. Level #46 You start on right/middle, take path south, left, north, right, north, enter arrow shape--open the locked box for a CLUE, then leave arrow, and use path south to exit level. Level #47 You start in the middle of this room, follow path left hitting both flashing panels, now go right on warp panel, go south, them right, then north and release flash panel. Backtrack to beginning. Head left, then along south path. Grab food, and run to exit left. Level #48 You begin this level in the middle of a maze, Take the right path, south, right, north, left, then south again and exit to #49. Level #49 <$Treasure Room$> Level #50 You begin in the bottom left hand corner, and proceed right, then north, and along corridor. Continually proceed north through warps and you will reach the exit in the middle north area if the level. Level #51 You begin in the top/left corner, go right, hit the panels to release 2x food, then go down to exit to level #53. If you want to go to 52, go south from beginning release panels to grab 2x food, and take the left-hand exit. Level #52 You begin in the middle of a keyed in area, don't release the door, go south, go right, go north, hit the flashing panel, backtrack to junction and go left., now north, and exit is right to #55. Level #53 You begin in the middle room, grab the key and use door south, keep following winding paths, at south end of maze avoid the locked boxes they are only 1x treasure, along right wall however the locked box has food. At the top north of the winding path is a permanent PU and the exit to #54. Level #55 <$Treasure Room$> Level #56 You start Top middle, go along top until you see a room with a flashing panel, enter room and touch it. Follow path until you see a path open south, take south path, right/south, Find room with death/puddle and flash panel, hit panel, find path down/right to room with breakable hole in right wall, Go along bottom until you see a flash panel, enter room and hit it. Hit exit in middle to #57. Level #57 You start in north/middle and go down, then left, hitting flash square, now go right, now south, now right, north, now right to exit to #58. To go to #60, go south, then left, hit flashing panel, then go north, and right and use exit. *Level #58 You start in the middle, and go down (through breakable blocks), *Level #59 You begin in the top/right-hand corner.
