Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Puzslot is a game that mixes Puyo Puyo gameplay with casino slot machine elements. It is a puzzle game, as the name would suggest, where the premise is to line up 3 of the same picture blocks to clear them. If you cannot do this and the space provided fills up, or you run out of time/blocks, you lose. It is a very simplistic game that can become a bit addicting, especially if you have some spare time to kill like I did. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ======== Pre-Game ======== At the title screen, you will be able to select how many players will be playing (1 or 2). If you want to play the regular game by yourself, you can set the difficulty (which determines how fast the blocks fall), the background music, and the level you start on (1-5). If you choose to pick the 2-player mode, you can also set the Clear score quota, as well as the limit (how many block pairs before your game ends). ================ General Gameplay ================ If you have played the Puyo Puyo series or Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, the premise of this title should come to you easily. Basically, blocks will fall from above, one set with two pictures on them at a time, filling the empty space below. As they fall, the pictures on them will spin much like a slot machine; stop the pictures by pressing B, or don't press anything and let it be a random picture when it stops falling. The idea is to line up 3 of the same picture blocks to clear that line of 3, gaining points in the process. You can line up the blocks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line to clear them. If the stack of blocks reaches the top, the game is over. You can also initiate combos if you clear a line and then the blocks above it fall to form another chain. Sometimes you will be able to clear adjacent blocks of the same picture in this manner, as well. On the left side of the screen, you will see a Clear meter (0000/300 for Level 1). This signifies the amount of points you must obtain to beat the level and advance onward. However, it's not as easy as you think, since on the upper-right corner, you will see another number. That is the number of block sets remaining to fall before the game ends. If the number starts at 50, it means you must surpass the Clear points using no more than 50 falling block pairs. If you can't reach your quota before the upper-right number reaches zero, you lose. ============ Level Quotas ============ Level Clear Score ----- ----------- 1 300 2 320 3 340 4 360 5 380 After every round, the Clear Score will increment by 20. ====== Points ====== The scoring scheme for each line of 3 blocks is as follows. Please note that the listed scores here are for 3-block lines; you may receive a slight bonus if there are 4 blocks in the line.
