INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Seirei Gari' for the NES, released by Hudson in 1989. It was only released in Japan. The guide uses Shift-JIS to display Japanese characters in .txt form. If you cannot see them automatically and just see some garbled font, set your browser encoding or file viewer manually. This game is a text adventure. To play you need to have extensive knowledge of the Japanese language. Thus this walkthrough is intended for players who are able to read and understand the text. There is an English translation available if you want to enjoy this game but do not understand Japanese. There are three walkthroughs included in this guide. The first is the English command guide without any hints or story elements, the second is the same but in the original Japanese, should you be playing that version. Finally, for those who would like less direct commands and not be told what exactly to do but only described how to solve the puzzles, read through the detailed walkthrough. Suggestions, comments or errors - tell me about it. Enjoy! =============================================================================== 02.) BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== At the main menu, either START a new game or CONTINUE one by using a password which you copied down another time. Controls: ````````` ______| |____________________________ | ............. | | ............. Nintendo | | _ ............. | | _| |_ SELECT..START | | |_ O _| ..__.....__.. _ _ | | |_| (__) (__) (_) (_) | | ............. B A | |_____________________________________| D-Pad Move cursor A Confirm Action B Cancel Action SELECT Password START - Using SELECT at any point in the game shows the rather long password. If you do not use the walkthrough then you definitely need to make use of this feature. Else you can probably finish the game in one sitting. Display: ```````` _____________________________________ | .................... ............. | | . . . . | | . . . . | | . . . . | | . . . . | | . A . . C . | | . . | | ................................... | |_____________________________________| The display is quite basic and easy to understand. Area A has a picture of the current location and/or a nearby person, or maybe someone you are talking to. Area B has the command menu. Only useable commands will appear here, so if you cannot pick anything up the "Take" action is not available at that moment. Area C has the storyline, text and other information the game give you. =============================================================================== 03.) DETAILED WALKTHROUGH G0500 =============================================================================== Prologue: ````````` After the scene, check around and talk to the nurse three times, then go to the study. Speak with Kiyojo three times as well and leave for outside. A locket will fall out of your pocket before the next part begins. Part 1: ``````` Outside the manor, check it out and check out the entrance door. It is unlocked so go inside. Check around the foyer twice, then look at the picture four times to notice the eyes are moving, and receive a mysterious message. Take the picture with you and go up the stairs. Check around, especially the plaque here. Continue up to the second floor. Look around and go to the red door. Check out the door and enter it. As usual, check the study, the desk as well as the silver key you find. Take the silver key and leave the room, going back down the stairs to the foyer and then into the hallways. Check the door and use the silver key to open it. Go inside the library, check it out and then look at the desk and book. Talk to Kiyoko and check out the book again to find a golden key. Leave the room and return to the second floor, this time going towards the blue door on the left. Open it with the golden key and enter the bedroom. Look around and check the bureau. Open the drawer and check the contents. Read the note and speak with Kiyojo. Leave the room and walk to the red door. Look at the skull twice for it to make a strange noise. Repeat the same over at the blue door, then go down to the first floor get the same noise reponse from the golden door in the hallway. When you return to the stairway you will find that the plaque skull is now grinning. Check out its mouth and the switch, then enter the passage going underneath the stairs. Inside the secret room, check out the surroundings and then the wall. Hang up the picture for an opening and leave this place for good. Part 2: ``````` Check around Asuka Village before going to the Plaza. Look around here, check out the shops and in specific the aviary. Enter it. Look around before going into the bird shop. Look at everything, including the shop, the birds, the peacock and the man. Soeak with the guy and then leave. When the boy summons the spirit, talk to Kiyojo. Go to the bazaar via the plaza. Look around and talk to the old man. Go to the museum past the gateway. Talk to the lady and return to the village, this time going to the bar. Speak with the man here twice. Your next destination should be the shrine past the gateway. Look at the area, the cistern and the temple. Pick up the ladle and use it. Enter the temple and attempt to talk to the boy.
