They don't pass directly to other teammates and they don't shoot directly at the net. You have to look in the direction of the net to shoot towards it. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 2. - Main Menu SH2 _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ You will notice the Main Menu is basically split up into two sections. The top section allows you to select game mode with the Select Button, and the bottom section allows you to change game options with the D-Pad. Below, I will list every option and describe them. Selections: The first option is along the top portion of the screen. These options can only be chosen with the Select Button. The two options are 1 Player Game and 2 Player Game. The 1 Player Game will obviously set you up to play against the computer, while the 2 Player Game option will set you up to play against a friend. Team Select: The Team Select option just lists the teams that you can play as. The teams aren't better than each other, the only difference is the color of their uniforms. The teams you can select from are: Japan United States Soviet Union Canada England France Norway Czechoslovakia Skill Level: The skill level is the difficulty setting. The skill level ranges from one to five. It is automatically set to one when you start the game up. One is the easiest setting while Five is the most difficult. I highly suggest leaving it one one when you start because this game is pretty bad and you don't want to waste your time playing hard game to start. Time: The Time option obviously gives you the option to make the games longer or shorter. The options are ten, twenty, and thirty. The clock moves a lot faster than it should. It's about five seconds in the game for every second in real life. The numbers in the Time option will change how many minutes in game time that each period lasts. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 3. - Strategies SH3 _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ------------------------- Offense ------------------------- Winning face offs is huge in this game. It's always an important aspect in hockey, but especially in this game. To win face offs, simply hold A and skate towards the face off dot. Right as you grab the puck, move down a little bit and you'll trip the other center up without getting a penalty which will give you a good break into your offensive zone. Maintaining posession is a very important key to winning. You only control one skater and the goalie so passing is pretty pointless since it usually just leads to turning the puck over. So if you're skating hard into the offensive zone and see most of their players blocking your path, don't be afraid to turn around and start the rush over. You obviously need to score goals in the game to win, but scoring them could be incredibly difficult. You have to be really close to the net if you really want to beat the goalie. It also doesn't help that you have to be facing in the direction of the net to put the puck on net. I generally skate around the center of the rink so you will always have a good angle to shoot on. Get as close as possible before shooting to give you the best chance. Don't bother shooting from the blue line because the goalie will beat you every time. ------------------------- Defense ------------------------- Again, winning face offs can is an important part of the game. Why is it important for defense? It's important because winning a face off prevents their offense from getting any opportunity at all. It goes against the old saying, "The Best Offense is a Good Defense" but it still works great. Stealing the puck is by far the best thing you can do in this game to stop the opposition and immediately start transition into the offensive zone. This is easiest to accomplish when you are in front of him, but is still possible when you are behind the skater with the puck. Simply hold A and skate in front of them. Make sure to make some contact and most of the time you will steal the puck and knock him down. Defending your defensive zone should be of utmost importance. If the player controlled skater is in the neutral zone or offensive zone when the other team is skating the puck into your zone, it's better to just fall back and control your goalie. You don't have to do anything special, just move him with the D- Pad. Make sure they don't put the puck into your net and then pass the puck off to your controlled skater to start the rush into the offensive zone. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 4. - Disclaimer SH4 _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This FAQ/Walkthrough is copyrighted © 2008 to Frank Grochowski.
