START : Pauses/unpauses the game. B Button: Uses Indiana's weapon, or causes him to throw a punch if he is unarmed. A Button: Indiana will perform a leap, or if he is lying down he can use this to drop down a level of the platforms. o-----------------o | Flying Controls | o-----------------o D-Pad : Moves your Bi-Wing in the corresponding direction. SELECT : No apparent use. START : Pauses/unpauses the game. B Button: Fires off a burst of your machine gun. A Button: If you find some Bombs, this will drop your arsenal for you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Walkthrough---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) This section will cover all off Indiana's challenges that he will face as he goes globetrotting around the world. o------------------o | Level 1 - Mexico | o------------------o ========== Area 1 ========== Run up the hill to whip the charging Mexican Soldier, then run up the next slope to open the two crates to get Gold Bars, and then drop down to move left to enter the door to find two more crates with Gold Bars and a Hat for Indiana (protects him from one hit). Now back outside, head right to crack open two more crates for the Gold Bars, then climb the hill between grenade throws from the Mexican Soldier to attack him. Jump down off the ledge, run to the right (going underneath another grenade using Soldier) to enter a shack to find a set of Gold Bars in a crate, and then two crates that offer the choice between a Knife and Grenades (pick your preference). Head to the right to break a crate for the Idol (freezes enemies) that is inside, then head left along the higher ledge to find two crates with Gold Bars inside, and then move to the right along the highest ledge (killing a Mexican Soldier in the process) to reach a boulder that Indiana should push down the slope (follow at a distance to see it plow a Mexican Soldier over). Run and jump across the water to reach two crates containing Gold Bars, return across the water to reach the slope leading upwards, and then move to the right to kill a Mexican Soldier before killing another Mexican Soldier across the gap. Drop down below to get a Hat from a crate (if you need to), head right across the water to find two crates with Gold bars inside, then move left to climb the slope to fight a Mexican Soldier (he has a gun), and go down the slope to kill the Mexican Solder on horseback (after getting him, run up the slope on the right to scroll the Horse off the screen, as it will harm Indiana). Now run to the right to pass underneath a Watch Tower Guard to exit the area. ========== Area 2 ========== Run up the hill to kill a Mexican Soldier who shoots, then jump crefully pas the cacti to reach two crates (one holds a Rifle and the other has Gold Bars), or you can go up the hill, roll the boulder down the hill to kill a Mexican Soldier (who also shoots) as well as a Snake before dropping down to move left to find the same crates. Now head right across a river, shoot the Mexican Soldier with the firearm, then shoot the mounted Mexican Soldier before jumping his charging Horse, and then jump the barrier ahead to shoot another Mexican Soldier (before he gets you). Collect the Gold Bars from the two crates below, run across the large water area to find Grenades and Gold Bars in the two crates, and then run back to the right to climb the palisade above to kill the Watch Tower God before heading right to kill a Mexican Soldier across the gap (then jumping across to that ledge). Head right to shoot a grenade throwing Mexican Soldier, push the boulder to the left, and enter the door it was blocking to find a Hat, Dynamite, and a Handgun in the crates inside. Head up the ledges going right, time your jumps up to shoot the Turret, and then continue to the right to drop down to find Gold Bars in a crate. Go right to get more Gold Bars from a crate, then move right to pass over a Dust Devil while cannonballs rain down to run underneath a Turret. Continue moving to the right while dodging the incoming cannonballs as best you can, and once you have gone far enough, you will have the AREA BOSS! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Pancho Villa ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will come face-to-face with the cannon that was firing at you for the last few sections of the level, as well as two other cannons and a Watch Tower Guard. Start off my firing multiple shots into the Cannon battery to destroy all three (the Rifle or Grenade work best), followed by jumping to ground level to kill off two Mexican Soldiers that appear. After this occurs, position Indiana just to the right of the wagon wheels on the left side of the screen, which is when the Watch Tower Guard (Pancho Villa!) will hop down to the hill above Indiana. Start off the brawl with him by hitting him, then dodge his attack (which will be a five bullet spread or four grenades thrown into the air), and then repeat the attack and dodge pattern two more times (hitting him a total of three times) to be the winner! Now you are off to get the Jackal back from Claw! ========== Area 1 ========== Head right to whip the Mexican Soldier, go right to use the ledges to jump the spikes to the left to grab the Torch, and then jump to the left to crawl through the tunnel to hop the gap to find a Hat and Knife in some crates. Crawl through the lower tunnel to head right to kill a Mexican Soldier, then use the moving lifts to jump across the area over the spikes (avoiding a Bat) to fight a Mexican Soldier on the far ledge. Now walk down the slanted boards (being careful to not fall on the spikes on the left side of the shaft), then move right to pass under a Bat to find Gold Bars in a crate before climbing up a long ladder to jump some spikes to climb another ladder. Kill the Mexican Soldier and the Rat as you move right to climb down a ladder, then go right to crawl through a tunnel to battle a Bat while collecting a Torch and a Hand Gun (this one is in a crate). Head back to the left to fight a Mexican Soldier to find a ladder leading down, from which you will hop to the ledge on the right (avoiding the spikes located below), then jump across the spikes ahead to reach a long path over the spikes, so run full speed as the path will crumble under Indiana's feet. ========== Area 2 ========== Fall down to the ledge below, hop the Rat to go right, and then use the see saw to launch up to the ledge on the left to grab a Torch. Jump the gap on the right to kill a Bat, then a Mexican Soldier, and then bust a crate to grab a Rifle. Now head right to take a running leap off of crumbling wood to pass over spikes to find a Bat guarding the shaft leading downwards. Now you will have to choose between getting Grenades (top path) or going over some crumbling path above spikes to get a Hat, both of which rejoin to lead left to fight a couple Bats while hopping spikes to go down the hole you find. ========== Area 3 ========== Grab the Torch from the hole below, jump across the moving lifts while holding off a Bat, and then waste a Mexican Soldier to move right to fall to the area below. Use the see saw to get to the higher ledge, move left to open a crate for a Hat, then go right to fight a Bat before climbing a ladder to continue left. Jump the spikes below to go jump down the shaft to the next area. ========== Area 4 ========== When you land on the see saw, land on the ledge on the right, grab the Torch while hopping to the small tunnel on the right (crawl through to find a Hat), and then head right over a crumbling path to whack a Mexican Soldier to continue to the right to pass into the BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ The Claw ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jump up the ledges to reach the mine cart with Claw in it, from where he will patrol while throwing Dynamite at Indiana. However, the explosions also cause a nasty side effect of cave ins, but this will also bring down a crate with a Roller inside. When you have the Roller, throw high trajectory shots up at the Jackal, all the while dodging the Dynamite and the resulting falling boulders/crates. It will take three hits to kill the Claw, but remember that if you lose your weapon, a crate will fall soon so Indiana can replace it. o------------------o | Level 2 - France | o------------------o ========== Area 1 ========== Start off by going right and up the small slope to see a German Soldier who will shoot two bullets, then throw a Grenade. After he throws the Grenade, jump down to whip him, then move left to cream another German Soldier before entering a cave to find a Gas Mask, Rollers, and Gold Bars in crates. Exit the cave, move right till a Fighter Plane appears, and line up Indiana just to the left of being directly underneath the plane so the bullet spread will not hit him. Now collect the Gold Bars from the two crates on the hill, then continue to the right to kill a charging German Soldier before he can run Indiana through with his bayonet. Climb the hill ahead to shoot the German Soldier before he gets you, jump the gap to fall down to break two crates for Gold Bars, and then continue on to the right to climb a slope quickly to kill a Grenade lobbing German Soldier to find a crate with Gold Bars inside. Now move right to kill a German Soldier, jump across the ridges to find Grenades in a crate, and then move left slightly before dropping to the lower ground to move right to kill a Tank with three well placed Grenades. The next part of the area is muddy rivers for Indiana to cross, with enemy artillery attacks raining down continually. Your best bet is to just jump your way across the river quickly, hoping that the artillery fire never draws a proper bead on Indiana (if you flounder in the water at all, expect to get hit). Once you are across, hop on the waiting motorcycle. Now you can ride to the right, plowing through German Soldiers, but you will still need to jump gaps as well as the Land Mines that exist. Head right to drive up a slope, hop a gap, plow a German Soldier, and then drive right to pass underneath a Fighter Plane to kill another German Soldier. Jump the Land Mine in the ground to drive up the slope, jump the gap to run over another Soldier, and then hop a Land Mine to go right to jump up the slope to get two crates of Gold Bars while dodging the Tank below (it will take off soon after you climb the slope). Continue to the right at full speed to hit another German Soldier (he throws Grenades), followed by jumping another Land Mine to kill a German Soldier. Hop across the gap to find a small ditch where Indiana should pause to let the Soldier above shoot his gun before charging forward to kill him while the soldier lobs a Grenade. Now hop across the few remaining gaps, swim across the river, and then start dodging the artillery fire (possibly grabbing a Rifle from a crate on a small hill) as well as a German Soldier to find the your way out of the area. You will have delivered the orders, but your job is not done as Indiana offers to penetrate enemy lines and get some intel! ========== Area 2 ========== Jump the first gap, shoot the German Soldier, then jump the next gap to go right underneath a Grenade lobbing German Soldier, followed by using the ledge above to move left to kill said soldier to get a Gas Mask from a crate. Move to the right (going past the blasts of steam from the ground to find a crate with a Handgun if you want/need one), then continue along the path above to kill a German Soldier. Continue right by jumping across the broken bridge while dodging incoming artillery fire to enter a small field, which is where a Land Mine waits as a Fighter Plane attacks from above (with artillery rounds continuing). When you reach the next ledge above, jump to it to shoot the German Soldier and a Turret before continuing to the right to find another broken bridge with a Turret on the far side of the gap (shoot the Turret as you advance and avoid falling as Land Mines await below!). Below in a small cave is a Knife and some Gold Bars in crates, so grab a Knife if you unarmed, then use the remnants of the bridge to go shoot a grenade-toting German Soldier on the far side. Head down the hill, jump to the next highest ledge, wait for the German Soldier below to move left so Indiana can ambush him, and then drop down to the lower area while the steam is gone so Indiana can move to the right to hop up on ledge. Now go down one ledge, jump the gap, wait for the steam to die down to move past it (go up and left for a Rifle if you need one), and then take out the German Soldier before jumping across a couple gaps to find Gold Bars in a crate. Now the artillery fire will return as Indiana hops across multiple gaps to kill a German Solder that guards a dangerous crossing of a river, where a Fighter Plane will attack Indiana as he crosses (nearly impossible to get across without getting shot). To have a shot at it, try to position Indiana JUST to the left of being directly underneath the Fighter Plane, which will cause the bullets to rip by without making connection. Go past the steam vents, jump to the ledge above, and then head back to the left across the crumbly path to find two crates (Gas Mask and Gold Bars), followed by moving right past the same steam vents to cross more crumbly bridge to find more steam vents to move past (try to shoot the German Soldier above the steam vents as his Grenades are a serious threat). Break the crate for Gold Bars as you move right to enter a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ German Tiger Tank ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This massive enemy will start rolling at Indiana, firing off regular bullets on a downward angle as well as shooting off tank missiles (straight ahead) and grenades (arcing through the air). If you need a weapon, break the crate that Indiana lands near to get Grenades. To win, you will need to land nine total hits to destroy this marvel of German engineering, and remember that even if you lose your weapon, you can go punch the Tiger while you are flashing with temporary invincibility, actually damaging it (possibly delivering a kill shot to a tank with your FIST!). Now you are off to destroy the German gun embankments since you can not warn the Allies in time! ========== Area 1 ========== Run to the right, jumping the two gaps, then hop up to kill the Turret to get the Gas Mask from the crate it guarded, and then head left to hop across the stones to kill the grenade lobbing German Soldier. Now hop up the ledges to kill a trigger happy German Soldier and a Turret as Indiana moves to the right to hop across the stones to jump to a ledge where a German Soldier waits, so take him out as you jump to the ledge. Now climb up to the next screen (if you fall down, you re-enter the previous area to find all the enemy forces back again), jumping across the area to the left to get past the waterfall, where you can use the stepping stone ledges to reach the bigger ledge above. You can jump left to kill the Turret (not necessary), go up and left to get an Idol and Gold Bars from the crates, and then head right across the stepping stones to reach a German Soldier and a ladder. Climb the ladder to get Gold Bars and a Gas Mask from two crates, then go back down to whack the newly appeared German Soldier before hopping to the left to kill another German Soldier so you can climb the ladder that he guards. Kill the German Soldier, crack the crates for Gold Bars, and then jump across the small ledges going right to reach a ledge above the ladder (you already used this one, so ignore it). Go up and kill the German Soldier before heading right (once again using the small stepping stone ledges) to kill a Turret and a German Soldier, followed by jumping to the right to the ladder to climb up to the next screen. Climb up the ladder immediately, jump down to the ledge with the Turret and smash it, followed up by running to the left to kill another Turret. You can go left to get an Enchanted Necklace (renders Indiana invulnerable for a few seconds) and jump up the ledges on the left to to jump right back to where you were, but you will have to jump across the stepping stones leading right to reach a larger ledge above the one you are on now. Jump to the next stepping stone, duck until the German Soldier shoots over your head, and then hop to the ledge with the ladder, which is where Indiana should kill the two German Soldiers as he goes to the left to use the stepping stones to reach the ladder. Climb the ladder and jump towards the Turret, killing it as you land, and then you can choose to go right and kill a German Soldier before jumping off the ledge to land with two crates (Gas Mask and Gold Bars), but that requires you to trek back up to this area. To advance, you have to climb up one ledge, jumping up the stepping stones to the ledge where a Turret waits for Indiana. Now Indiana just needs to head left to climb the ladder to a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ German Panzer Tank ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go to the right to find two crates (Gas Mask and Grenades), then head right past the elevator to make the boss appear. As it rolls to the left, get onto the elevator, and throw a high trajectory Grenade as you approach the top of the elevator height to hit the hatch on top of the Panzer before hopping down to the left side of the elevator (hitting the top of it will hurt Indiana). Now jump/duck the incoming volleys from the panzer until it starts to back up, at which point you should charge to grab the Grenade (EASPECIALLY if you need a weapon), kill the approaching German Soldier, and then get back onto the elevator as the Panzer approaches so you can repeat the process. Six hits will send this annoyance packing! o-------------------o | Level 3 - Germany | o-------------------o ========== Area 1 ========== Head to the right across the train car, dropping down into the hole to avoid the machine gun fire from the German Solder, then jump up and whip him so Indiana can head right to bust two crates for the Gas Mask and Gold Bars inside). Next up is a German Soldier, then hop off the car to whip the next German Soldier on the next rail car before busting the crate below to find Gold Bars. Two more crates sit on the next rail car (Handgun and Gold Bars) as Indiana moves right to fight two German Soldiers to get a crate holding Gold Bars. Now jump down off the boxes and shoot immediately to kill a charging German Soldier, jump up the crates to tangle with a machine gun toting German Soldier, and then bust two crates for Gold Bars. Shoot the next German Soldier from the safety of the other side of the crate, get the Gold Bars from the crate, and then go right to kill another Grenade throwing German Soldier to gain access to two more crates (Gold Bars). Climb up one crate, wait for the German Soldier to throw a Grenade over your head, and then pop him to move right to get two sets of Gold Bars from crates before popping the next German Soldier from a distance. Repeat the same steps fro the crates and German Soldier, then go pop the next one on the crate and head right to enter into a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Train Captain ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A master of avoiding enemy attacks, he is only vulnerable as he reaches for some crates. However, he will quickly throw these crates at Indiana, entering back into his amazing bullet side-stepping abilities. Also, if Indiana comes in close and remains there too long after he throws his crates, the Captain can grab Indiana and deliver a piledriver right to the cold, hard steel of the flatcar you fight him on. To take him out easily, move right upon starting the battle so Indiana's right foot is positioned on a dot that is four to the left from the one the Captain's right foot is positioned over. From there, Indiana can wait for the Captain to make himself vulnerable, shooting him once, and then letting the crates bounce by as the Captain will then repeat this for Indiana so it can happen again. Note that if you are a dot closer, he can be grabbed by the Captain for that vicious piledriver. Five hits will send the Captain rolling down the tracks. After being picked up by Captain William Bishop in his Bi-Wing Airplane, he will agree to take you to German Headquarters. However, he will have to get you past the German Air Force that is coming at the two of you first! ========== Area 1 ========== Your goal here is to shoot down all 10 German Bi-Wings before they shoot your Bi-Wing down. There is no concrete strategy for surviving this level, so I will offer some general strategies that will help instead: -Try to stay closer to the middle of the screen. The German Bi-Wings can come from the front, from behind, or even from the tree line below, so be ready to move out of the way of their machine gun fire from behind (usually going above them), followed by their Bombs (they get shot into the air in a high arc or get dropped straight down as they pass). -The Zeppelin is a massive threat to your survival, so when you see it appear in the background of the screen just ahead, move up to the same level as it to cream it as it becomes vulnerable. It will yield a parachuted Item, which is a Bomb, allowing your Bi-Wing to drop Bombs with the A Button as well as take an additional hit from other enemies. -Enemy Anti-Aircraft will be firing off continual shots, so make a low pass and cream them with your machine guns, or use your Bombs obtained from destroying the Zeppelin. -Avoid the Red Tri-Wing as it rips through the air, it is invulnerable until Bishop talks to you, leading you into a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Baron Von Richtoven ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yep, you get to fight the legend of his own time... THE RED BARON! He has a myriad of attacks to use, including: swooping through firing a few bursts of machine gun fire, swooping through and dropping Bombs, coming in to a stop temporarily and fire off multiple Bombs and machine gun fire, and his infamous loop de loop attack (he comes in, appears to be leaving, but really comes back around to attack once more before leaving). Your best bet is to stay low to the ground, popping up to fire a Machine Gun burst into him whenever he leaves himself open, but a braver pilot can sit in the middle of the screen on the far left, firing off machine guns (moving down to escape Bombs that are coming too close to you). It will take a mammoth 16 hits to take down the Red Baron, but he is rather inaccurate with his weaponry, so he does give you time to shoot him. Indiana will have now arrived at German Headquarters, all ready to infiltrate the base! ========== Area 1 ========== Head right to find a ladder leading up to a Flashlight and a Handgun in a crate, followed by taking a running leap to land on a ledge where Indiana should fire at the Bazooka Soldier, followed by ducking the incoming fire before landing the second hit to finish him off. Get the Gas Mask from the crate, then head left to go down to wipe the German Soldier out, and then start to the right again to climb another ladder to deal with a Bazooka Soldier. Go right, fall down, head left to find two sets of Gold Bars, and then go right to pop the German Soldier. Right behind him is a Guard Dog, which you should up and shoot to knock it off the screen, then an easy to take care of Bazooka Soldier (just jump up and shoot him between his rounds), followed by going down the ladder, going left past the Guard Dog fro two sets of Gold Bars (not necessary), and moving through the small opening on the right to find a ladder leading to two more sets of Gold Bars in crates and an elevator leading downwards. ========== Area 2 ========== Start out by working up the left side of the platforms to kill the grenade chucking German Soldier, then grab the Flashlight on the right before continuing to scale up the ledges to get some gold Bars from a crate on the right before whacking another grenade throwing German Soldier on the left. Continue left, go down a ladder, turn right to kill a German Soldier, and then jump between the Barriers whenever they run out of juice temporarily. after jumping down the hole by the ladder, move left to shoot a crate containing an Enchanted Necklace, which Indiana should use to climb up the ladder to his right to dispose of the grenade throwing German Soldier. If you wish to get some Grenades of your own, move to the right, but to advance you will have to head left past the position of the now dead German Soldier to kill another Grenade throwing German Soldier, followed closely by a charging German Soldier. Your next job is to kill the Mini-Turret above, then make use of the platforms to jump up and to the right to blow up a panel which will allow Indiana access to the rest of the headquarters. Head left to pass by the now fallen guard wall, drop down to go left to find a Gas Mask in a crate, and then move right to get a Flashlight on the way to hitting a German Soldier who uses grenades (BIG SHOCKER!). Drop down to kill another grenade lobbing German Soldier, heading left to pass through a set of Barriers to find a ladder to climb to kill a Bazooka Soldier. Now you have to fight past a trio of German Soldiers as you move right, up, and left to find the panel to destroy, allowing Indiana to go past the wall that was below the Bazooka Solider he killed previously. This will lead him to an elevator! ========== Area 3 ========== Head right to clobber a German Soldier, then climb the ladder to jump left to get the Flashlight (leave the Handgun if you have Grenades), and finally go right to stand to the right of said ladder and hit the Tank below with a couple Grenades (otherwise you have to get to it's level to kill it, and that is not easy). If you kill it as it is on screen, you can get into it the Tank and drive in it till you are hit three times (press the A Button to enter/exit it, hold DOWN to angle your shot downward and hold UP to angle your shots upward). Heading right will bring you across two Mini-Turrets, followed by a German Soldier, a Bazooka Soldier, and then one more Mini-Turret, which leads to a wall that needs to be taken down. Exit your tank and climb the ladder to start hopping to the left (be sure to crack the Gas Mask from the crate before you go) to face one more Mini-Turret, which guards the switch you need to destroy. Return to that evil wall to see it is gone, so pass through the opening into a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Warehouse Commander ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Saving the best for last, the Warehouse Commander calls out a prototype tank to help him as it fires trio's of shots into the air to come after Indiana. Add into that the Commander who will jump through the air to fire a bullet directly at you as well as performing a wicked slide kick along the top of the tank, and you have a really tough boss. He also can defens most of your attacks, so you will have to wait for him to start moving before he becomes vulnerable. To win, you will have to hit him once as he starts across the tank, then drop down to the ground below, and then avoid the shots to reset him to the right side of the screen before coming back on top to start again on hurting him. It takes four hits to subdue the Warehouse Commander. Now inside the Weapons Plants, Indiana is looking for the lab manufacturing the deadly poison gas! ========== Area 1 ========== Head down the elevator to the area below, moving right to climb a ladder to find a Machine Gun waiting in a crate, followed by moving left to kill a Bazooka Soldier. Next is a hall leading right, which also contains Acid Drips that can hurt Indiana, so be wary from now on. Head right to fight another Bazooka Soldier before climbing the ladder to the next area. ========== Area 2 ========== Go bust the crate for the Gas Mask, kill the Bazooka Soldier as you head left to climb a ladder, followed by moving right past Acid Drips to kill another Bazooka Soldier on top of a slope. Now head right past one more Acid Drip to reach the next area. ========== Area 3 ========== Head right to kill a Bazooka Soldier, then go past a black background to enter a small depression in the path to kill another Bazooka Soldier. Continue right to fight one more Bazooka Soldier before you go down an elevator to the lower part of the area, and then head left to get onto the right side of the first ledge you can jump to, allowing you to jump and fire to destroy the Bazooka Soldier on the next ledge. Now jump to the right over the deadly, bubbling pit, taking out two Bazooka Soldiers before happening across a crate holding a Gas Mask. Now head right past a couple Acid Drips to fight a Bazooka Soldier, then go down the ladder (stop on the first ledge you encounter to get another Gas Mask), and then head into the opening on the left, firing from a safe Distance to kill the Scientist holding the molotov cocktail (if you are closer, duck to get under the resulting flames without taking damage. Now climb the ladder and jump down the hole on the left to enter the next area. ========== Area 4 ========== In this area, any canisters marked poison will hurt Indiana, PROVIDED he does not have a Gas Mask. Head right to hop over the bubbling pit to find another pyrotechnic Scientist to the right and a Gas Mask to the left. Head right to take an elevator down to the lower portion of the area, head right to climb the ladder, and then go left to push against the wall, where you Indiana should duck to avoid the Tank fire. Jump up after it turns, defeat it, and then enter the Tank to go shooting through the two Bazooka Soldiers. Now enter the door to set the bomb, leaving Indiana 2 minutes to escape! ========== Area 5 ========== use the lift over the black liquid to shoot the Mini-Turret on the right, followed by jump into the right to run into another Mini-Turret (destroy it). Now continue on to use the next lift to enter a BOSS AREA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Automated Defense Room ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once you step near the right side of the room, the barriers will shoot into place, so get onto a lift and get up high enough that you can attack the bulb at the top of the room. When the bulb flashes blue, it is about to shoot two electrical charges that will bounce around the room until the bulb is hit. Now, after the bulb takes a hit, it will either flash purple or blue before firing, thus tipping you off on where to stand. If it flashes purple, stand Indiana directly underneath the bulb to watch five spread shots go wizzing by. If it flashes blue, move to one side of the room (either will do), and count off five sets of spread shots go wizzing by. If you manage to do this seven times, you will be able to escape the fortress in time! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------Items------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) This section will look at both Weapon and Helper Items. o---------o | Weapons | o---------o Bomb : Found in the flying stage against the German Bi-Wings, use them with the A Button to hit targets below your plane. Dynamite : When thrown, the stick will bounce across the ground quickly, coming to a stop for a second or so before exploding. Also note that if you hold UP while throwing one, it will arc through the air on a higher trajectory, but the distance of the throw will be lessened. Grenades : These explosive baddies will blow up on impact, knocking over any enemy in their path. Also note that if you hold UP while throwing one, it will arc through the air on a higher trajectory, but the distance of the throw will be lessened. Handgun : This weapon will fire single shots across the screen at the height of Indiana's waist. This weapon can fire through platform ledges, but it can only have one bullet on screen at a time. Knife : When thrown, this object will slowly start descending downwards due to gravity, but it can pass through platform ledges. Machine Gun: This weaponry will allow Indiana to fire off continual bullets, so use this to your advantage to get rid of multiple hit enemies quickly. Note that it can fire through platform ledges. Motorcycle : Found in France, you can ride this bad boy through most enemies as well as outdistance most enemy artillery and Fighter Planes. Just note that Land Mines will put a stop to your joy rides very quickly. Rifle : This item fires single shots across the screen at the height of Indiana's shoulder. This weapon is a semi-automatic, so Indiana can repeatedly fire it to get multiple projectiles, and it can fire through platform ledges. Rollers : These little beauties will bounce a few times along the ground before disappearing. Note that there range in the air is limited. Tank : It can take three hits before being destroyed, it also can fire multiple rounds at one time. To hit enemy targets that are low to the ground, hold DOWN, and to hit enemy targets high in the air, hold UP. o---------o | Helpers | o---------o Enchanted Necklace: If Indiana stumbles across this fabled treasure, he will be rendered invulnerable for a few invaluable seconds. Flashlight : Found in warehouse areas, these Items will light up your surrounding for a short while (over 30 seconds). Gas Mask : Indiana will be able to sustain an extra hit if he has this protective clothing on his dome. If Indiana already has a Gas Mask and he finds an additional one, he will gain an extra man for doing so. Gold Bars : For every icon you collect, your total will go up by 3. Once your total reaches 100, Indiana will be rewarded with an extra chance to set things right where ever he may be. Hat : Indiana will be able to sustain an extra hit if he has this protective clothing on his dome. If Indiana already has a Hat and he finds an additional one, he will gain an extra man for doing so. Idol : This statue will freeze enemies for a limited time, but Indiana will still have to kill the enemies himself as they will hurt him still if he touches them. Torch : Found in underground areas, these Items will light up your surrounding for a short while (over 30 seconds). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------Enemies------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) This section will list all of the enemies, their behaviour, and their attacks. Bosses will be listed in their own sub-section. o----------o | Regulars | o----------o Acid Drip : If this corrosive liquid drop hits Indiana, he will take damage. Just move by in between the continual drips to advance to more serious challenges. Anti-Aircraft : These ground based weapons will fire continual rounds upwards at your Bi-Wing, trying to blow it out of the sky. Bomb them or swoop low to destroy them. Barbed Wire : Found in Europe during World War One, it will hurt Indiana upon touching it. Avoid contact at all costs as it will drain your stamina quickly, so find alternative paths. Bat : Found in underground areas, they roost on the walls, waiting for Indiana to approach. They will attempt to bite you, so kill these small annoyances early as they frequently are positioned where they can knock Indiana into a pit. Barrier : These electrically charged objects will be on for a few seconds before turning off for a second to recharge. Go past them on the recharge phase to get by without taking damage. Bazooka Soldier: These tough guys fire their explosive rounds slowly, but they have excellent aim. Your best bet is to shoot them once, duck the incoming shell, and then stand up to shoot them again to finish them off. Cactus : These roadblocks can not be hurt and they are usually too tall to be jumped. Just avoid them or tread carefully when Indiana is in their area. Fighter Plane : These enemies will swoop from above, sending a spray of five bullets or a Bomb down at the ground in the are Indiana has entered. Avoiding the bullets is your only concern, as the Fighter will leave the area after the initial volley if bullets have been fired. German Bi-Wing : These are the Fighter Planes that have been firing at you as you moved through the field, but you are facing them in the air. Avoid their head on machine gun fire as well as their bomb dropping attacks to send them into a tale spin. German Soldier : These guys are versatile in that they have a myriad of ways to move and attack. They can be armed or not armed, and they can be charging or sniping. Try to not let multiple ones attack Indiana Jones or they may swarm him under. Also note that they can mix up their weapons fire with Grenade lobbing frequently. Guard Dog : These annoyances are low to the ground, only coming into range of gun when they jump. If you do not have a low flying weapon, your best bet is to let the dog charge and duck when it jumps, allowing the beast to pass over your head. Horse : Usually these beasts will stay out until told, but if there rider is knocked out of the saddle, then they will charge around wildly. They can't be hurt, so just dodge them if they are running wild. Land Mine : Small, white protrusions from the ground, they explode when Indiana physically steps over one. Just jump them and continue on your way. Mexican Soldier: These guys are versatile in that they have a myriad of ways to move and attack. They can be armed or not armed, and they can be charging, sniping, or even on Horseback. Try to not let multiple ones attack Indiana Jones or they may swarm him under. Mini-Turret : They are smaller than a normal Turret, but they are more dangerous as they can fire in any direction they wish to. However, they do have a much slower firing rate than that of a regular Turret. Rat : Found in underground areas, they patrol the floors and small tunnels, waiting for Indiana to approach. They will attempt to bite you, so kill these small annoyances early as they are not a threat to be losing your Hat/Weapon to. Scientest : These whit coat wearing guys are like roadblocks; they do not move but they delay you. Shoot them from a distance to make them drop their molotov cocktail, then pass by after the flames subside. Snake : Small beings, they slither across the ground trying to bite Indiana. Note that they can only be killed by rolling a rock over them or by using a weapon that falls as it flies through the air. Tank : Heavily armored, it will take multiple shots to take down. They are stationary enemies (unless Indiana gets directly above them), but they lay down continual sprays of four bullets per round about every four seconds. Fire at them and duck the incoming ordinances to get by. Turret : Requiring multiple hits from non-concussive weaponry, these large green cannons will fire off large bullets at a rate of one per three seconds. Not too tough, except they are placed in inconvenient situations for Indiana to deal with. Zepplin : This massive, helium filled beast will fire off spread shots of five bullets at a time, in a fairly fast manner. land a few well placed bullets to destroy it, leaving you a present as it goes. o--------o | Bosses | o--------o ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Pancho Villa ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will come face-to-face with the cannon that was firing at you for the last few sections of the level, as well as two other cannons and a Watch Tower Guard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Baron Von Richtoven ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yep, you get to fight the legend of his own time... THE RED BARON! He has a myriad of attacks to use, including: swooping through firing a few bursts of machine gun fire, swooping through and dropping Bombs, coming in to stop temporarily and fire off multiple Bombs and machine gun fire, and his infamous loop de loop attack (he comes in, appears to be leaving, but really comes back around to attack once more before leaving). He also can defend most of your attacks, so you will have to wait for him to start moving before he becomes vulnerable. To win, you will have to hit him once as he starts across the tank, then drop down to the ground below, and then avoid the shots to reset him to the right side of the screen before coming back on top to start again on hurting him. It takes four hits to subdue the Warehouse Commander. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Final Word----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) As is the usual, this walkthrough is copyright property of Brian P.
