-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighter's Clash 2 Expand Edition Save State Editing Guide - Offset List v 1.00 by "~Kaz" theeternallostboy at hotmail dot com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= Legal =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This Save State Offset List is a complete listing of the offset values for all cards for the NeoGeo Pocket Color game, "Card Fighter's Clash: SNK vs. Capcom" (both SNK and Capcom versions). The offset list is specifically tailored for a savestate from NeoPop v0.71 and not for any other file. This listing is for the Japanese language version of the game (the only version of this game), copyright 2001 by SNK, Capcom, and Moto Kikaku. As such, all cards listed will reflect the Japanese naming conventions with the English version in parenthesis if space permits. The use of a hex-editing program, such as the oft-mentioned shareware program "Hex Workshop" (tm) by BreakPoint Software, is needed to edit/hack the file. I cannot provide any technical help for the programs, just the list. Please refer to the makers of the software you are using (BreakPoint Software can be contacted at www.bpsoft.com) for furthur assistance on that area. Happy New Year (2006/01) and Lunar New Year (2006/02) nonetheless. This is a bare-bones list of the cards & their decimal offsets. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= Contents -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Jump to each chapter by searching their for their number ("I.", "II.", etc.) This guide will teach you how to edit which cards you have discovered, how many of each you have, and how many back-ups combos you have discovered. # | Title | What you'll find --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.| Tutorial | Basisc for knowing & editing HEXadecimal values I.| Editing Card List | How to search for the card you want II.| Card List | The giant list of all 424 cards by Card No. III.| Editing Back-Ups | How to edit which cards have received Back-Ups IV.| Back-Up List | The not-as-big list of all 320 characters' back-ups -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= 0. Tutorial =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Basic understanding of HEXadecimal: The basic "decimal" numeric system is based on 10's: 1, 2, 3... 10, 11, 12... The number 123 = (1 * 10^2) + (2 * 10^1) + (3 * 10^0) = 100 + 20 + 3 The binary numeric system is based on 2's: 1, 10, 11... 100, 101, 110... Because you count by 2's, the digits have to be 0 or 1. The binary 101 = (1 * 2^2) + (0 * 2^1) + (1 * 2^0) = 4 + 0 + 1 = 5 (in decimal form) The hexadecimal system is based on 16's: 1, 2, 3... 8, 9, A... E, F, 10... There can be 16 values for a single digit, from 0 to F. A = 10, B = 11, C = 12... all the way to F = 15 The hex 1F8 = (1 * 16^2) + (F * 16^1) + (8 * 16^0) = 256 + 240 + 8 = 504 (in decimal form) Microsoft Windows' Calculator (Scientific Mode) can convert between these three forms with a touch of a radio dial. I just wanted everyone to learn it the hard way. X^P The term 'register' means the 'storage location of the data'. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= I. Editing Card List -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Upon launching your hex-editing program, search for the offset value (in "decimal") to jump to the register you want to edit. If you just started the game, many values should be "00", some "82" or "83". To find the Hex Offset, simply convert the Decimal Offset value into Hex. Change the value at the offset location to "00" to delete all cards, "80" to show that you've discovered the card, and any hex value above "80" to obtain them. A value of "81" means you have one card, a value of "FF" (the most you can put into a hex-register) gives you 127 of them. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= II. Editing Back-Ups =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Upon launching your hex-editing program, search for the offset value (in "decimal") to jump to the register you want to edit. Unlike changing the amount of cards you have, each register counts for TWO people. For example (22975) is for both Joe & Mai's Back-ups. If you set that register as 01 = Joe's first back-up is registered, Mai has no back-ups set 10 = Mai's first back-up is registered, Joe has no back-ups set 11 = Joe & Mai's first back-ups are registered 31 = Joe's 1st back-up & Mai's 1st & 2nd back-ups are set Why does "3" set Mai's 1st & 2nd and not all 3? Back-ups go by BINARY. Andy, for example, has two potential back-ups. Imagine if those two slots looked like a binary configuration: Binary = Decimal 0 0 = 0; none of Andy's back-ups are registered 0 1 = 1; Andy's first back-up (Mai) is registered 1 0 = 1; Andy's second back-up (Hokutomaru) is registered 1 1 = 3; Andy's 1st & 2nd back-ups are registered NOTE: Remember, this is binary! If you input a number higher than 3, things change! If you use 4, the binary representation is 100; then NONE of Andy's back-ups will show! Joe, for example, has three potential back-ups. Imagine if those three slots looked like a binary configuration: Binary = Decimal 0 0 0 = 0; none of Joe's back-ups are registered 0 0 1 = 1; Joe's first back-up (Terry) is registered 0 1 0 = 2; Joe's second back-up (Sagat) is unlocked 0 1 1 = 3; Joe's 1st & 2nd back-ups registered 1 0 0 = 4; Joe's 3rd back-up (Adon) is unlocked 1 0 1 = 5; Joe's 1st & 3rd back-ups are registered 1 1 0 = 6; Joe's 2nd & 3rd back-ups are registered 1 1 1 = 7; Joe's 1st, 2nd & 3rd back-ups are registered NOTE: Remember, this is binary! If you input a number higher than 7, things change! If you use 9, the binary representation is 1001; only Joe's first back-up is registered. The easy way to turn everyone's back-ups on is to fill all 160 registers with "77" or "BB" or "FF" (as binary, they all end in "111"). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= IV.
