Special Thanks 1. About This FAQ is all about the many combos of Capcom vs SNK 2. Yeah, there are tons of them. And this FAQ will tell you how to do most of them. Mainly, the one I could do. Also, this FAQ won't provide a move list since there are too many Move List FAQs already. 2. Combo Techniques Jump Ins: This is usually how combos start. Its when a player jumps in with an attack and then goes into a combo. Cross Ups: An advance form of Jump Ins, in which you jump over your opponent and still hit him or her. Buffering: Also called a Two-in One. Its when you cancel a normal attack with a special or super move. Example, C.Forward - Fireball. Juggle: This is when you hit an airborn opponent after knock him or her into the air. However, in "CvS2" their a little bit hard to do. The only time the opponent can be juggled is when the falling opponent's back faces the player. Chain Combos: These are normal moves cancelled to another normal move. And only certain characters have them, but most of them is a certain attack chains with another certain attack. Morrigan, however, is the only character with VS series style chains. But her chain attacks won't effect the opponent's stun meter. Only Terry's, Athena's, Hibiki's, Iori's, Maxi's, and Yun's chains effect the stun meter Link Combos: A kind of tough version of chains. These are normal moves that are done right after the animation of the last normal move is complete. In other words, to do S.Jab - C.Fierce, you must do the C.Fierce right after the S.Jab animation is done. This game has tons of these, and I listed most of them. And unlike Morrigan's chains, they do effect the opponent's stun meter. Custom Combos: Only A-Groove has this. These are combos that let you cancel any move/special with any move/special for at least 9 seconds. And you can also juggle the opponent anytime. So basically, if you have your opponent in the corner, you could fireball the opponent 20 times in a row or juggle the opponent to death. And it needs a full bar to activate it. Level 2/Level 1 Super Canceling: Only C-Groove has this. Its where you cancel a Level 2 Super with a Level 1 Super. Super Canceling: This only appears in the XBox or I think GameCube versions. And its only on P-Groove. Its basically cancel the animation of a Special Move to a Super Move. 3. Characters/Combos Note: "S" means Standing, "C" means Crouching, and "J" means Jump. Almost all combos were done on Kyo. Some may not work on smaller opponents like Sakura, or Athena. You got to know what neutral position means. Neutral position is basically not holding a direction button or the movement is at center. Not up or down. The trick is to hit the Standing attack when the control is at neutral, after charging down. And when that standing attack hits, immediately hit up and kick. Example: The Combo: Jump In Strong - S.Fierce - Roundhouse Spinning Bird Kick How it's done: Up Forward - Immediately Charge Down - Now start the combo with a Strong Jump In, while charging down - As you land, begin to stand up - At neutral, hit your standing Fierce - And immediately hit up and Roundhouse. Q: How to 2 in 1 those annoying Half Circle Back Supers from crouching attacks? A: Some may have trouble doing this. But this is how it's done. I'll use Akuma's Messatsu Gou Hadoken as an example: The Combo: C.Fierce - Messatsu Gou Hadoken How it's done: Hold Forward - Move Down Forward - Move Down and press and hold Fierce - Now finish the motion and release Fierce. Just remember one thing, supers can also be done by holding the button, doing the motion and releasing the button. This technique is called "Negative Edge". Q: How to 2 in 1 those annoying Half Circle Back Supers from 2 crouching attacks? A: You may think its impossible, but it's not. Its just very hard to do. I'll use one of Shin Akuma's combos as an example: The Combo: C.Strong - C.Fierce - Misogi How it's Done: Do the crotching Strong and immediatly hold the joystick or direction button towards - Now as the animation ends, make a quarter circle to the down position and do the crotching Fierce - Now immediatly finish the Misogi motion. Q: That Bison combo is impossible. You can't do a Super Psycho Crusher after a Roundhouse Knee Press. A: Well, it looks impossible to do. But its possible. Double Charge combos existed back in the days of "Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition", when Balrog can do two Short Dash Uppercuts and Guile can throw two Sonic Booms in a combo. So what I'm saying is to do another charge move in a combo, you must two in one a charge move and go back to charge in under a second. However only two characters so far can do two charge moves in one combo. I'll use Bison's combo for example: Cross Up Jump In Roundhouse - S.Jab x 3 - S.Strong - Roundhouse Knee Press - Super Psycho Crusher To start charging for the Super Psycho Crusher, you must do the S.Strong - Roundhouse Knee Press and charge back very fast at least under about a half second. Also, the Super Psycho Crusher must be done just after the Knee Press animation is done. You are basically linking, not canceling to a super. Now I'll use Guile's combo: Super Jump In Fierce - S.Fierce - Fierce Sonic Boom - C.Forward - Sonic Hurricane The same method as with Bison: do the S.Fierce - Fierce Sonic Boom and charge back at under a second. But Bison's combo involves juggling with a Super Psycho Crusher. A Sonic Boom won't knock your opponent down. Since Guile's Sonic Boom animation get done quickly, you could link in a normal move after the Sonic Boom to get more charge time. Basically, throw a C.Forward just after Guile's Sonic Boom animation is done. And if you charge it enough, you may use the Sonic Hurricane on the opponent. 5.
