Just to let you know, this is my first attempt at an FAQ, and I am putting forth the best effort to make it as informative as anyone would need. I don’t claim to be perfect, just accurate. I am making every attempt to avoid mistakes, but I will happily change any that I make. Please note that I have made this guide purely for the Battling portion of Kingdom Hearts, and have no intentions on explaining battle mechanics, storyline, etc., nor any information on Map Cards, or anything that does not pertain to battling. Please use the guide to the best of your advantage, and DO NOT copy any information, under any circumstances. Thank you, and feel free to give feedback. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC00******************* DECK CARDS ************************ ------------------------------------------------------------- Your deck is composed of cards with values 0-9. The basis of playing this game lies mostly in Card Breaks, which in essence is using a card with a greater value than the enemy. You can edit your deck, as long as you stay within the limits of your “Deck Cost”, and you can make up to three decks at one time. The following section will detail every card that can be placed in your deck. Location: Tells where to obtain the card for the first time. Strength: Tells the card’s power (Keyblades only) Element: Tells the special attribute of the card. Recovery: Tells how quickly the card resolves. Description: In-game description of the card. Special Notes: Various information concerning the card. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC01************ KEYBLADES (ATTACK CARDS) ***************** ------------------------------------------------------------- Keyblades represent the physical strength of you deck. It’s recommended that at least half of you deck is composed of these cards, as the are generally the quickest way to break an enemy card, and they are used in the majority of powerful sleights. Be careful when using Elemental-based keyblades, as they can end up healing certain enemies if you target them with the wrong card. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________KINDGDOM KEY_______________________/ Location: Standard Attack Card; you’ll begin the game with these. Strength: D+ Element: Physical Recovery: B Description: Not very powerful, but reliable and easy to handle. Special Notes: You’ll be stuck with these for a good portion of the game, but I advise replacing most of them once you obtain better cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________THREE WISHES_______________________/ Location: Found in Agrabah in barrels, tents, etc. Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: B Description: Delivers powerful combo finishes. Strength: C Element: Physical Recovery: A Description: Not very powerful, but very easy to handle. Find the area with Tigger, jump on one of the tree stumps, and search around for it on a ledge. You will need Glide/Superglide to obtain it. Strength: C Element: Lightning Recovery: A Description: A special attack card with lightning-based attacks. Special Notes: The card isn’t that great, but it’s worth noting that it is practically the only “hidden” treasure in the game. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________METAL CHOCOBO______________________/ Location: Obtained in Olympus Coliseum, in the Key to Rewards Room Strength: B Element: Neutral Recovery: B Description: A special attack card that can break through physical defenses. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________OLYMPIA__________________________/ Location: Found in Olympus Coliseum in breakable objects. Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: A Description: Powerful with a quick recovery after card breaks. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________LIONHEART________________________/ Location: Found in Traverse Town in the Key to Rewards room. Strength: B Element: Fire Recovery: A Description: A special attack card with fire-based attacks. Special Notes: Because this keyblade is fire-based, it can hit through Heartless such as the Large Bodies, but will heal fire-elemental heartless. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________LADY LUCK________________________/ Location: Found in Wonderland in breakable objects. Strength: C Element: Physical Recovery: B Description: A balanced weapon that is easy to handle. Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: C Description: Delivers powerful strikes, but slow to recover from card breaks. Strength: B+ Element: Physical Recovery: B Description: A well-balanced weapon with a very powerful thrust. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________OBLIVION_________________________/ Location: Received on (F12) after defeating Larxene for the second battle. Strength: B Element: Neutral Recovery: A Description: A special attack card that can break through physical defenses. Special Notes: Similar to elemental weapons, in that the keyblade can damage enemies with frontal defenses. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________ULTIMA WEAPON______________________/ Location: Found in chests in Castle Oblivion, only after clearing Riku’s storyline. Strength: (Star) Element: Physical Recovery: B Description: The strongest attack card to be found. Special Notes: This is the strongest keyblade, but the deck cost can hurt. Use sparingly, but by all means, use. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________DIAMOND DUST_______________________/ Location: Found in Castle Oblivion (F13) in breakable objects, after clearing Sora’s storyline. Strength: B+ Element: Ice Recovery: (Star) Description: A special attack card with Ice-based attacks. Special Notes: Must have completed Sora’s storyline for this card to appear. You do NOT have to finish the Rebirth storyline, just unlock it. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________ONE-WINGED ANGEL____________________/ Location: Found in Twilight Town/Castle Oblivion in chests, Moogle Shops, etc. after completing Sora’s storyline. Strength: B Element: Fire Recovery: C Description: A special attack card with fire-based attacks. Special Notes: This is basically a slightly upgraded version of Lionheart. It is definitely worth using. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________STAR SEEKER_______________________/ Location: Obtained in Castle Oblivion (F13) in the Key to Rewards Room. Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: (Star) Description: An attack card with a powerful combo finish. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________MONOCHROME________________________/ Location: Obtained in Olympus Coliseum in the Key to Rewards Room. Strength: C+ Element: Neutral Recovery: C Description: A special attack card that can break through physical defenses. Special Notes: ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________FOLLOW THE WIND______________________/ Location: Obtained in Neverland from the Key to Rewards Room. Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: A Description: A well-balanced weapon with a powerful thrust. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________HIDDEN DRAGON_______________________/ Location: Appears in Traverse Town in Map-made treasure chests (Calm Bounty, False Bounty, etc.) Strength: C+ Element: Physical Recovery: A Description: An attack card with weak strikes but powerful finishing combos. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________PHOTON DEBUGGER______________________/ Location: Obtained on Destiny Islands in the Key to Rewards room. Only available after beating Sora’s storyline. Strength: B Element: Lightning Recovery: B Description: A special attack card with lightning-based attacks. Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________BOND OF FLAME_______________________/ Location: Received in Traverse Town in the Key to Rewards room. Strength: B+ Element: Fire Recovery: B Description: A special attack card with fire-based attacks. Special Notes: Same that applies for other fire-based keyblades. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC02****************** MAGIC/SUMMONS ********************** ------------------------------------------------------------- To offset the Keyblade cards used in you deck, you should provide a diverse set of Magic Cards in your deck as well. Keep in mind certain Heartless have elemental weaknesses, and the best way to exploit them is through magic cards. Also make sure you provide enough curative magics when taking on tough battles. I personally recommend keeping the number of (0) valued magics to a minimum, because most take a while to resolve, and set you open to a card break. Summons work in much the same way as magic, but take much longer to resolve. Use summons sparingly, because they are very easy to break during boss battles. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________FIRE___________________________/ Location: Obtained After the first fight with Axel (F1) Description: Deals Fire Damage. Special Notes: Aims at a single target; strong against Ice-Based Heartless. Fire homes in on the enemy, so you do not need to be facing the target for it to hit them. ------------------------------------------------------------- \___________________________BLIZZARD________________________/ Location: You will begin the game with one of these. Description: Deals Ice Damage. Special Notes: Blizzard “pierces” through enemies, but does not home in on the like Fire does. It is strong against Fire-Based enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------- \___________________________THUNDER_________________________/ Location: Obtained after the first fight with Larxene (F6) Description: Deals Lightning Damage. Special Notes: Thunder will more than likely hit an enemy that you’re targeted on, and hits fast. It can also hit multiple enemies surrounding the targeted one. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________CURE___________________________/ Location: You will begin the game with one of these. Description: Recovers HP. Special Notes: Cure is probably the most important card in your deck. You’ll most likely want to use 3+ of these, possibly more for harder bosses. It might also be a good idea to place these at the beginning of your deck, so reloading will automatically bring them up. Be careful using sleights with Cure, so you don’t completely use them up. ------------------------------------------------------------- \___________________________GRAVITY_________________________/ Location: Obtained in Agrabah in Map-created Treasure rooms. Description: Deals Damage Relative to the enemy’s remaining HP. Special Notes: Gravity is a fairly poor magic, and takes a while to completely resolve. However, it is used in many sleights, so it can be considered. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________STOP__________________________/ Location: Obtained in Wonderland in Map-created Treasure rooms. Description: Halts enemy movement for a set time period. Special Notes: Enemies inflicted with stop will not move or attack. You can still attack while they are stopped, but the damage will not be immediately taken, only after stop has completely resolved. Note that Stop is also used in many powerful sleights. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________AERO__________________________/ Location: Received after the first fight with Riku (F7) Description: Blows away nearby enemies and inflicts damage. Special Notes: Aero is very weak unless used in a sleight, so I only suggest using it to make Aeroga, Judgment, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________SIMBA__________________________/ Location: Received in the Key to Beginnings room in Traverse Town from Leon. Description: Simba lets out a mighty roar that deals damage to enemies in front of him. Special Notes: Simba deals a decent amount of damage, but only hits in a straight line in front of him. He also takes a fair bit of time to actually attack, so use him sparingly. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________GENIE__________________________/ Location: Received after the events at Agrabah. Description: Genie casts Thundara, Gravira, or Stopra Special Notes: I wouldn’t advise this one much. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________BAMBI__________________________/ Location: Received after the events of the 100-Acre Woods. Description: Bambi bounds around and drops HP orbs. Special Notes: This is a faster way to heal than Tinker Bell, but still not good for Boss Battles. Also note that Paradise Lv. 3 (3X Bambi) will stun enemies that Bambi stomps on. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________DUMBO__________________________/ Location: Received after the events of Monstro. Description: Dumbo douses enemies with water over a set time period. Special Notes: Not only does Dumbo take forever to resolve (asking for a card break), but he can only hit in front of him, and turns extremely slowly. Consider something else. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________TINKER BELL________________________/ Location: Received after the events of Neverland. Description: Tinker Bell restores a great amount of HP over time. Special Notes: Tinker Bell is not an efficient replacement for Cure during Boss Fights because it lasts too long, making it very easy for an enemy to break. I only suggest using it if you’re going to put it at the end of a sleight or combine more than one Tinker Bell together. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________MUSHU__________________________/ Location: Obtained in Hollow Bastion in the Key to Rewards room. Description: Mushu breathes fire at the enemy, dealing fire damage. Special Notes: You will go into a first-person style mode for Mushu’s attack. Tap X to fire as much as possible before he disappears. ------------------------------------------------------------- \____________________________CLOUD__________________________/ Location: Received after the events of Olympus Coliseum. Description: Cloud unleashes two successive sword attacks. Special Notes: Cloud does on vertical slash and one horizontal slash. He is definitely the best summon, and worth using, especially for the Omnislash sleight (3X Cloud). ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC03******************* ITEM CARDS ************************ ------------------------------------------------------------- Item cards can quite possibly be the vital spot of your deck. They all reload cards back to your deck instantly, but will not reload under normal circumstances. Their deck costs are very high, even for lower-numbered cards, so you can’t use many. Keep in mind a couple things when using them: (1) If you use an Item Card that is broken before it resolves, it will reload back into your deck. (2) Item cards DO count as a reload. Take note of this when using enemy cards that fade after a certain number or reloads. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________POTION____________________________/ Location: You’ll start the game with one of these. Description: Special Notes: This is probably the only good item card you’ll have for quite a while. Even when you receive the first Hi-Potion, its value wont be of any use. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________HI-POTION__________________________/ Location: Received in Olympus Coliseum in the Key of Guidance Room. Description: Special Notes: Hi-Potion will reload cards lost in sleights as well as premium- value cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________MEGA-POTION_________________________/ Location: Received after the Third Boss Fight with Riku (F11) Description: Special Notes: Again, its value will restrict you to using maybe one or two in your deck. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________ETHER____________________________/ Location: Received in Agrabah, in the Key of Guidance Room. Description: Special Notes: This works the same way as a Potion, but for magic card and summon cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________MEGA-ETHER__________________________/ Location: Received after the First Boss Fight with Vexen (F11). Description: Special Notes: This works the same way as a Mega-Potion, but for magic and summon cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________ELIXIR____________________________/ Location: Received in The 100-Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh. Description: Special Notes: I suggest using at least one Elixir with a value of 8 or 9, at least until you get a reasonable Megalixir to replace it. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________MEGALIXIR__________________________/ Location: Found on Destiny Islands in the Key to Rewards Room. Description: Special Notes: Unfortunately, the first Megalixir you get will be a (1) value, so you’ll need to do more searching for one of use. It is the best Item choice, and although it’s cost will be very high, a (8) or (9) valued Megalixir is more than worth the cost. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC04******************* ENEMY CARDS *********************** ------------------------------------------------------------- Enemy cards add unique abilities to your deck, but come with limitations. They are obtained at the end of a battle in place of a normal map card, but only appear with given percentages. An enemy card will always match the last heartless killed as well. Bosses will also give you Enemy Cards, but only when defeating them for the final time. Although Enemy cards will not account for the total power of your deck, you should use ones that will benefit you in different cases. Their deck costs vary with card effects, ranging anywhere up to 99 DP, but each has its uses at times. They are separated from your deck (press SELECT to flip through your Enemy Cards in Battle), and can only be used once per battle. You can have multiples of the same card, of course, but you will only have one copy of each boss card. The following Map Cards will increase your chances of receiving an Enemy Card from a battle: ~Almighty Darkness ~Teeming Darkness ~Looming Darkness ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________SHADOW___________________________/ Heartless Found: Found in every world (Using the Bottomless Darkness Map card will generate a room with only Shadows). Card Effect: (Incrementor) Increases the value of all cards by 1 Card Cost: 25 Limit: 2 Reloads Special Notes: For such an easy card to get, Shadow is one of the greatest enemy cards to use (Even Riku uses it in one of his Boss Fights). Don’t get confused, it only increases your cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________SOLDIER__________________________/ Heartless Found: Traverse Town, Wonderland, Twilight Town Card Effect: (Combo Plus) Adds an extra hit to normal combos. Card Cost: 15 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: Your combos will have 4 hits, the last one being the strongest. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________POWERWILD_________________________/ Heartless Found: Olympus Coliseum Card Effect: (Retrograde) Reverses the values of all cards. 1 becomes 9, 2 becomes 8, etc. Cards with a value of 0 are not affected. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: This card is very good, especially if you get your hands on more than one. If you’re suing it, you can place many low-valued cards in your deck, keep your deck cost low, and still break nearly every enemy card. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________BOUNCYWILD_________________________/ Heartless Found: Olympus Coliseum Card Effect: (Draw) Attracts fallen cards and items for easy retrieval. Card Cost: 10 Limit: 5 Reloads Special Notes: There is no practical use for this card other than ensuring that you’ll pick up a friend card, exp, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________LARGE BODY_________________________/ Heartless Found: Wonderland, Monstro, Olympus Coliseum Card Effect: (Guard) Deflects frontal physical attacks and completely nullifies damage. 40 Card Cost: Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________FAT BANDIT_________________________/ Heartless Found: Agrabah Card Effect: (Back Attack) Deals more damage when striking enemies from behind. Card Cost: 40 Limit: 2 Reloads Special Notes: Not really worth considering if you’re asking me. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________SEARCH GHOST________________________/ Heartless Found: Monstro, Halloween Town, Atlantica Card Effect: (Drain) Absorbs enemy HP when striking with attack cards, but enemies will drop fewer items. Card Cost: 35 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Another good card, if you don’t mind losing out on a bit of Exp. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________BANDIT___________________________/ Heartless Found: Agrabah Card Effect: (Combo Finish) Makes the first strike as powerful as a combo finish. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: This is fairly useful. In boss battles, when you expect to be Card Break-ed often, it will make more of those unfinished combos you use. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________SEA NEON__________________________/ Heartless Found: Atlantica Card Effect: (Random Values) Randomizes the values of cards you use. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Your cards will spin with roulettes and choose a random number when you use it. This is unreliable and fairly pointless. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________RED NOCTURNE________________________/ Heartless Found: Traverse Town, Wonderland, Castle Oblivion, Olympus Coliseum Card Effect: (Fire Boost) Increases the strength of fire-based abilities. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Since most of the powerful elemental sleights are Fire-based, this should be considered when relying on a fire-based deck. More than one may be suitable to, since the deck cost is low. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________BLUE RHAPSODY________________________/ Heartless Found: Traverse Town, Olympus Coliseum, Castle Oblivion Card Effect: {Blizzard Boost) Increases the strength of ice-based abilities. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Only consider if you’re a fan of Blizzaga, like me. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________YELLOW OPERA_________________________/ Heartless Found: Monstro, Agrabah, Castle Oblivion Card Effect: (Thunder Boost) Increases the strength of lightning-based abilities. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Same as the other elemental enemy cards, but for lightning-based cards, although the only ones are Photon Debugger and Thunder. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________GREEN REQUIEM________________________/ Heartless Found: Monstro, Agrabah, Castle Oblivion Card Effect: (Cure Boost) Increases the potency of healing abilities. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: This is definitely worth your time in almost any deck, although putting more than one in may be superfluous. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________AQUA TANK__________________________/ Heartless Found: Atlantica Card Effect: (Auto-Reload) Automatically reloads cards when they run out. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------- \_______________________AIR SOLDIER_________________________/ Heartless Found: Monstro, Twilight Town, Agrabah Card Effect: (Reload Kinesis) Allows reloads while in motion. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: This card can come in handy, allowing you to properly avoid attacks and still reload normally. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________BARREL SPIDER________________________/ Heartless Found: Percentage to appear when smashing barrels (Agrabah, Monstro, Olympus Coliseum, Twilight Town, Neverland, Destiny Islands.) Card Effect: (Quickload) Reloads cards instantly. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: You simply have to click the reload card and your cards will restock, just like it does in Riku’s storyline. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________WIGHT KNIGHT_________________________/ Heartless Found: Halloween Town Card Effect: (Float) Alters gravity to boost jumping abilities. Card Cost: 15 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: The only practical use I could find for this is avoiding multi- hit boss moves, such as Dark Aura. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________GARGOYLE___________________________/ Heartless Found: Halloween Town Card Effect: (Vanish) Makes you invisible and reduces your chances of being hit. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: Yes, you’ll be see-through, and enemies will target you less often, but I urge that you find something more useful. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________PIRATE_____________________________/ Heartless Found: Neverland Card Effect: (All Zeros) Changes the values of all card to 0. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: This is more useful against slower enemies. I don’t recommend it in boss battles (Except maybe the last battle with Marluxia), because you’ll be constantly card broken. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________AIR PIRATE___________________________/ Heartless Found: Neverland Card Effect: (Item Bracer) Stops enemies from breaking item cards you use. Card Cost: 30 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: Item cards will reload if they are broken, but this can help if you’re in a desperate spot and you absolutely need an item card. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________SCREWDIVER_________________________/ Heartless Found: Atlantica Card Effect: (Decrementor) Decreases the values of all cards by 1. Card Cost: 15 Limit: 1 Reload Special Notes: This is the reverse of Shadow, and can be used strategically when pulling off sleights that require low card totals (Such as Ragnarok or Ars Arcanum). ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________WYVERN___________________________/ Heartless Found: Hollow Bastion Card Effect: (Reload Lock) Stops the reload counter from counting reloads. Card Cost: 20 Limit: 3 Reloads Special Notes: Basically, this is best at the start of a battle, preventing the counter from increasing for 3 reloads. Card Effect: (Berserk) Boosts the power of attack cards when low on HP (when the gauge is flashing red). Card Cost: 40 Limit: 30 Attacks Special Notes: This can be used as a trump card, but make sure you time it right. ------------------------------------------------------------- \______________________TRICKMASTER__________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained after defeating Trickmaster in Wonderland. Card Effect: (Regen) Gradually restores HP. HP returns more quickly when low. Card Cost: 40 Limit: 10 Uses Special Notes: This will activate automatically, you cannot control when the 10 Regens activate. It is very good to use, and the best time to use it would be before reloading cards, giving you HP back as you wait for your deck to reload. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________PARASITE CAGE ________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained after defeating Parasite Cage in Monstro. Card Effect: (Dispel) Nullifies an opponent’s enemy card without fail. Nothing happens if your opponent has no enemy cards in play. Card Effect: (Overdrive) Sacrifices reload speed to power up attack cards. Card Effect: (Sleightblind) Grants Sora Resistance to certain elements. Card Cost: 40 Limit: 10 Sleights Special Notes: The effect here is different than when Ames uses it, seeing how it’s pointless for your sleights to be hidden from the enemies. Card Cost: 80 Limit: 2 Reloads Special Notes: You are resistant to Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Special Attacks when this is active. Just like Blue Rhapsody, only use if you feel like spamming Blizzaga. Of course, replace those with this if you’re already using them. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________LUXORD___________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained in Agrabah in the Key to Rewards Room, after beating Sora’s storyline. Card Effect: (Omni Break) Breaks Enemy Cards no matter what the value. Card Cost: 99 Limit: 15 Uses Special Notes: You are resistant to Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Special Attacks when this is active. Very, very useful, but once again, there isn’t much fun to get out of it once you’re eligible to get it. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________MARLUXIA__________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained after defeating Marluxia the first time, at the end of Castle Oblivion. Card Effect: (Double Sleight) Use stocked cards and sleights twice in a row. Card Cost: 99 Limit: 3 Sleights Special Notes: You are resistant to Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Special Attacks when this is active. This is my favorite enemy card in the game. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching Trinity Limit wipe out a group of enemies, and then wipe out their reinforcements as well. It works with any and every sleight, so have fun. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________LARXENE___________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained after defeating Larxene for the second time. Card Effect: (Dash) Increases running speed. Card Cost: 65 Limit: 15 cards Special Notes: You will be immune to lightning, but you’ll be more vulnerable to Ice attacks. Running speed doesn’t change much, it’s just fun to use. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________ROXAS____________________________/ Heartless Found: Obtained in Twilight Town in the Key to Rewards Room, after beating Sora’s storyline. Card Effect: Double Strike (Doubles the damage dealt by an attack card. Card Cost: 99 Limit: 20 Attacks Special Notes: The 20 attack limit is strict, but it’s usually enough to extinguish a whole group of heartless. This is one of the best cards in the game, and definitely trumps cards like Saix and Hades. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC05************ FRIEND CARDS/GIMMIK CARDS **************** ------------------------------------------------------------- Friend cards are different from others in that they are not directly added to the deck, and do not cost any DP to use. Friend cards will appear randomly during battle; most will only appear in certain worlds, but Donald and Goofy will appear in almost every area. Individual friend cards each have their own sleights, which will increase in power as more of their individual cards are added to the sleight. They can come in handy, but you’ll have to wait for one to pop up on the field. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________DONALD___________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in all worlds (Except your first run through Destiny Islands) Special Notes: Donald will always cast 2 in a row. It will be any combination of Fire, Blizzard, Cure, and Thunder. Donald has a horrible habit of using the wrong spell at the wrong time though (Cure at full health, thunder on thunder enemies, and the such). ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________GOOFY____________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in all worlds (Except Destiny Islands for the first time). Description: Goofy will spin around Sora and damage enemies he comes in contact with. Special Notes: Goofy alone isn’t too great, since Goofy Tornado Lv. 1 doesn’t last very long. However, combined with other cards, Goofy can do a large amount of damage, especially with Goofy Smash (Goofy + Attack Card). ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________ALADDIN___________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in Agrabah. Special Notes: Aladdin isn’t too great damage-wise, but it might be worth noting that you can get Moogle Points from his attack. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________ARIEL____________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in Atlantica. Special Notes: She will charge, and add an extra hit by pressing (Triangle). The second part will damage surrounding enemies. She is fairly useful. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________JACK_____________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in Halloween Town. Special Notes: Jack will randomly cast one of the following: Thunder, Gravity, or Blizzard. Stock more than one Jack will upgrade the spells, and he will cast a number of spells equal to the number of Jack’s stocked in the sleight. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________PETER PAN__________________________/ Location/Appears at: Randomly appears in Neverland. Special Notes: Tapping (Triangle) will cause him to attack more, which causes quite a bit of damage in the longrun, even with just one Peter Pan card. He is especially useful in the Boss Fight against Captain Hook. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________THE BEAST__________________________/ Location/Appears at: Randomly appears in Hollow Bastion. Special Notes: This is a 3-part attack, dealing a large amount of damage. Definitely worth a go when you pick him up. ------------------------------------------------------------- \__________________________PLUTO____________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly during certain boss fights. Special Notes: Pluto will dig up random things, including Health Orbs, Cards that were lost in sleights (which will be re-added to the deck), and sometimes bones, which have no real effect. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________*GIMMICK CARD*________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears during certain boss battles (Only can be held at a time). Special Notes: Causes various effects during boss battles: (1) Guard Armor: Causes Guard Armor to completely collapse, and stuns him for a while. (2) Parasite Cage: Causes the rotating platforms to disappear, which are replaced by a larger platform. (3) Trickmaster: Causes the table to rise, damaging him if he is in the way. (4) Jafar: Levels out all moving floor panels for a short time. (5) Oogie Boogie: Obtained by smashing Oogie’s presents. Removes the barrier to Oogie and stuns him for a decent amount of time. (6) Ursula: Disposes of all of her tentacles at one time. (7) Dragon Maleficient: Creates a temporary hovering object for you to jump on. It will move as you do, and will protect you from flames on the ground. (8) Darkside: Temporarily raises columns from the ground leading to Darkside’s face. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC06******************* RIKU’S CARDS ********************** ------------------------------------------------------------- Unlike Sora, Riku’s Gameplay will not permit you to customize your deck. Each world you enter will provide you with a new set of cards, usually including a specific enemy card that can only be used in that world. Note that Riku has no curing capabilities in his normal deck, so you will have to rely on certain cards for healing. Riku will keep all Enemy cards obtained from Bosses for the entirety of the game. His strength isn’t determined by card type, since he only has one attack card, but instead will increase should you decide to raise his attack power upon level-ups. The power further increases while he is in dark mode. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________THE KING___________________________/ Location/Appears at: Appears randomly in battles as a friend card. Special Notes: Using The King will heal Riku as well as stun all enemies on the map. Don’t be too hasty to use these, as they are the only consistent way to heal yourself. Note that combining The King with two Soul Eaters will result in the Holy Burst sleight, which can be quite fun to use. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________LEXAEUS____________________________/ Found: After defeating Lexaeus. Card Effect: (Warp Break) Obliterate enemies with the finishing blow of a combo with a high success rate. Limit: 50 Attacks Special Notes: You will be immune to ice and resistant to physical attacks while this is active, but you will be more vulnerable to special attacks. Unfortunately, it sounds better than it is, since Riku can almost “obliterate” anything anyway. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_________________________ZEXION____________________________/ Found: After defeating Zexion on Destiny Islands. Card Effect: (Confu-strike) Causes attacks to confuse the enemy at a certain rate. Limit: 50 Attacks Special Notes: You are resistant to Ice, Fire, Lightning, and special attacks while this is active. This works on almost every hit; confused enemies will not attack you normally, and will instead run around the map. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________DARKBALL___________________________/ Found: Placed in Riku’s Deck in Atlantica (this may be subject to change, this is just where I had use of it) Card Effect: (Duel Trigger) Activates duels no matter what the value. Limit: 1 Use Special Notes: This is only worth using against the boss. Note that this card DOES NOT appear in Sora’s game at all, even after beating Riku’s storyline. ------------------------------------------------------------- **DC07******************* SPECIAL CARDS ********************* ------------------------------------------------------------- The two “special” cards act as normal enemy cards, but have extremely useful effects. They both have maximum deck costs, but trust me, they’re well worth it. To get these two cards, you’ll have to obtain every other card in the game, including every enemy card, so it may take a while. ------------------------------------------------------------- \________________________GOLD CARD__________________________/ Found: Found in the first treasure chest you open in Castle Oblivion, after completing 100% of the card collection. Card Effect: (Premium Guard) Allows Premium cards to be reloaded. Limit: 5 Reloads Special Notes: Since this card lasts for 5 reloads, you can practically make a deck filled with Premium cards and not worry about running out of cards. ------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________PLATINUM CARD_________________________/ Found: Found in the second treasure chest you open in Castle Oblivion, after completing 100% of the card collection. Card Effect: (Invincible) You will receive no damage. Limit: 20 Attacks Special Notes: Just as the effect says; go crazy, you earned it. ------------------------------------------------------------- **VC00******************* VALUE CHARTS ********************** ------------------------------------------------------------- Every card has a specific value, ranging from 0-9. A specific card will cause a card break if it’s value is higher than the active one, with the exception of 0, which will be broken by anything if interrupted, or will break anything if used after another card. Of course, higher valued cards will have higher deck costs. To increase your Deck Cost, select it as a bonus when leveling up. Premium (**) cards have lower Deck costs than normal (it’ll be the same value for all values of that premium card. For the most part, they’ll remain the same (Stocking three cards for a Sleight). However, some of Riku’s Sleights can only be initiated when he’s in “Dark Mode”. Also, Riku can cause “Card Duels”. This will occur when you use a card with the same value as the enemy’s active card. To win a card duel, you must break a certain number of enemy cards in a given time limit. If you are successful, you will activate a powerful sleight.
