The main things that I will cover in this guide are the locations of the Jewels, and I have sat for a long time to get each and every jewel and write down where I got it here, so if you can't find a Jewel then look here. Well, I think that's enough rambling, so on with the guide! =============================================================================== = GENERAL INFORMATION = =============================================================================== First off, there a two different types of jewels that you can get, Power Jewels and Magic Jewels. Jewels are what can really save your neck and can also cut down your use of Herbs/Medicines by a very considerable amount. Also, (in case you didn't know :P) it will take longer for you to die. When maxed out, the two bars (health and magic) will extend to 3/4 the horizontal width of the gameplaying screen (or that approximate amount). Also remember to use the jewels as soon as you get them, to prevent any unnecessary risks. Some of the jewels require to do certain actions, to get at them, if you don't do it properly, then you won't get the jewel. Simple as that. +POWER JEWELS A real lifesaver, these things, when used, can increase your maximum health. A single Power jewel increases your health by a small amount, but when you start getting more and more of them, then you can really start to see the results of your efforts. Using more and more Power Jewels will see you being able to take more risks, (with the bosses), more hits, and worry less about your health. Kaede cannot use Power Jewels, but if you get any while playing as her, then remember to use them as soon as you start playing as Samanosuke again. Forgetting to use them can hurt you in the long run. Power Jewels can be identified by their yellow colour, they are also crescent shaped. You can also find them by looking for flashing objects on the ground. +MAGIC JEWELS A little something that lets you use Magic Attacks more frequently. Magic Jewels increase your magic bar by a small amount, but can really stack up, allowing you to use alot more magic attacks without fear of running out of magic after one or two magic attacks. When fully maxed out, the Magic Bar will extend to the length just as long as the health bar (when maxed out), this should be approximately 3/4 of the game playing screen. As usual, Kaede cannot use the Magic jewels, but if you get any while playing as her, remember to use them immediately when you switch back to Samamosuke again. Using more and more Magic Jewels can give you the ability to let off devastating attacks, against enemies and even some bosses. And once your weapons are fully maxed out as well, you can do even more damage with their magic attacks, making you very strong indeed, and hard to knock down :P. Magic Jewels can be identified by their blueish colour, they are crescent shaped just like the Power Jewels. You can also find them by looking for flashing objects on the ground. =============================================================================== = POWER JEWEL LOCATIONS = =============================================================================== Note: These locations are exact, so if you still can't find a power jewel, then read this section over again. Some of the Power jewels may be hard to find at first, but if you look harder, they will be easy to spot amongst other things. _____________________________________________________________________________ | POWER JEWEL NUMBER | POWER JEWEL LOCATION | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | -1- | Just after you recieve the first Magic | | | Jewel of the game. It's in a chest next| | | to a savepoint just before the Lv1 | | | Shiden Door, select the first, third | | | and sixth characters to open the chest | | | | | -2- | Just before you fight the first boss, | | | in front of the large door, next to the| | | savepoint, in a chest. Select the | | | sixth, first and fourth characters to | | | unlock the chest | | | | | -3- | Keep Floor 3, from the stairs, turn to | | | Samanosukes right and enter the door | | | there. Examine the hanging bucket, if | | | you slash it, then you won't be able to| | | to get it until later. | | | | | -4- | In a chest in the secret passage behind| | | the strategy room in the keep, near the| | | area where you find and use the left | | | and right Saito clan crest pieces to | | | get up to the roof. | | | | | | | | -5- | Enter the *very* tall building that you| | | see in the East Area, climb to the | | | rooftops via the ladder at the top. | | | Look for the Power Jewel near the dead | | | body. | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, that's it. If you followed those guidelines, then you should have every single power jewel in the game, meaning that you life bar reaches 3/4 of the screen. Congratulations! Now your only task is to get all of the magic jewels and then you're done and set to finish off the game! =============================================================================== = MAGIC JEWEL LOCATIONS = =============================================================================== Note: These locations are exact, so if you still can't find a power jewel, then read this section over again. Some of the Power jewels may be hard to find at first, but if you look harder, they will be easy to spot amongst other things. _____________________________________________________________________________ | MAGIC JEWEL NUMBER | MAGIC JEWEL LOCATION | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | -1- | Just after you exit the underground | | | temple via the moving statue in the | | | forest. Move to Samanosukes right and | | | open the chest. It may be hard to see | | | at first, as it is hidden by overgrowth| | | | | -2- | After you appear in the main lobby in | | | the Keep, on Floor 2. Rescue the two | | | soldiers by killing the zombie soldiers| | | with your bow. DO NOT EXIT THIS ROOM | | | UNTIL I TELL YOU TO! | | | Taking out the one farthest to you is | | | very easy. For the one closest to you, | | | move to the right pillar and use manual| | | aiming (right stick). Now wait for the | | | two soldiers to drop their items. Now | | | go get the magic jewel. | | | | | -3- | Just before the door that requires the | | | Gold and Silver Plates to open, in the | | | West Area. It's in the chest, to open | | | it, select the 5th, 1st and 2nd | | | characters, then claim your prize, | | | don't forget to use this when you play | | | as Samanosuke again. | | | | | -4- | Enter the large building in the East | | | Area. Climb to the top and open the | | | chest near the ladder to claim the | | | jewel. It's in the same building as | | | Power Jewel #5. | | | | | -5- | Enter the lake-side house, near the | | | waterfall. Open the chest next to the | | | save point. To unlock it, select the | | | 3rd and 6th characters to open the | | | and claim the last Magic Jewel of the | | | game. | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well done! Providing that you have followed the guidelines for both the Power Jewels and the Magic Jewels, then both of your bars should be at max level. Now go fight the last bosses and magic attack the crap out of them! You've earned it. :) =============================================================================== = CREDITS = =============================================================================== Not many, but I'll throw in some thanks to Capcom for their amazing games (DMC, Onimusha 1,2) and to CJayC, for keeping a great site like GameFAQ's alive and well.
