I had decided to write an FAQ for one of the Onimusha series which I have recently enjoyed playing, however since all the guides already posted were so good I decided to go for something that nobody had done yet, so here I present a handy reference list for those seeking every single Power and Magic jewel. This is a very small in depth FAQ so I have not provided a contents list for this one. ******************************************************************************* All About Jewels ******************************************************************************* As the names suggest, power and magic jewels contribute to your power and magic meters at the top of the screen, by raising the maximum level that they can reach. Since your Helth and Magic start quite low you will have a vey hard time beating the game if you don't find any, but get them all and it will be considerably easier. If you get all of the jewels your heath and magic meters will stretch all the way to your gold conunter (visible in the inventory). Power Jewels ************ Power jewels are curved, teardrop shaped gems which glow with yellow light. Each one when used in the inventory will increase your maximum heath by a small ammount, but note that they do not increase your current health when you use them. Magic Jewels ************ Magic jewels are curved, teardrop shaped gems which glow with blue light. Each one when used in the inventory will increase your maximum magic by a small ammount, but note that they do not increase your current magic when you use them. ******************************************************************************* Magoichi Saiga ******************************************************************************* Special mention must go to the gunslinger, as he is the only character whom you MUST form a good alliance with to acquire all the jewels. This isn't as bad as it sounds. Basically, as you will find out below, there is one power, and one magic jewel which can only be acquired if Magoichi is your best friend just after the second fight with Gingamphatts. This means that if you are trying to get complete scenario for a different character you will have to miss these two jewels. Fortunately these are the only jewels that require a particular alliance to get, so you will always be able to get all of the other jewels without worying about your allies too much. I would just like to add that if it is your first time through or you are attempting hard mode then I STRONGLY suggest you ally with Magoichi anyhow. Not only do you get the extra jewels, but if Magoichi is you closest ally throughout the game then there are many huge benefits which are far better than those offered by the other characters. It is my intention to contribute scenario guides for all the Onimusha 2 sub characters once I get thier scenarios to 100% so keep an eye on GameFAQS to find out more about why Magoichi is the greatest ally ever. ******************************************************************************* Power Jewels ******************************************************************************* Here I have simply listed the Power Jewels with their locations and anything special you need to do to get them, including the solutions to any puzzle boxes that they are in. Power Jewels that you have to trade to get are at the bottom of the chapter with thier owner and some items that can be traded to get it listed. 1 : Jubei's House : Yagyu Village ********************************* Enter the house and go down the hall to Jubie's left as you enter, all the way to the end. The puzzle box at the end contains the power jewel, the solution is as follows: Top Side, Right Arrow Right Side, Bottom Arrow Note that you can enter Jubei's house before going to Imasho, you must go there after you can absorb souls but before you go to the dragon shrine to get the thunder sword. 2 : Gifu Castle : Corner Room ***************************** Enter the Gifu Keep through the front door and go through the double doors opposite, the next room should have three doors, one of which is the cherry door that you cannot open yet. Go through the double doors opposite the ones you entered through and you will be in a corner room with a puzzle box containing a power jewel. Use this combination: Right Side, Bottom Arrow Top Side, Right Arrow Left Side, Top Arrow 3 : Fog Valley : Pond (Magoichi must be your best friend) ********************************************************* After you defeat Gingamphatts for the second time head north to the pond. Go to Jubei's right to a forested area with a thunder Mozun guarding the last Nobunaga statue. Once you have it go back to the pond to trigger Magoichi's appearance with his cannon. Simply protect him from the fish so he can fire the cannon, wind magic is great if you are getting mobbed. Once the cannon fires it will reveal the power jewel. If Magoichi didn't get hit at all you can also talk to him for one of the tech books you haven't got yet. 4 : Demon Cave : Last Room ************************** If you played the cave as Jubei you will have noticed a wind Mozun in the room where you found the powder tube. Break it and go through to get to the last room. If you played as Magoichi you could not have broken the Mozun so once you get Jubei back return to the room where you entered the cave and go around the opposite way. The route is blocked by a petrified man but you can now free him with the powder tube. Go past him into the last room. In the last room you will find a puzzle box containing the power jewel. The solution is: Bottom Side, Left Arrow Left Side, Bottom Arrow Bottom Side, Right Arrow Right Side, Bottom Arrow Top Side, Left Arrow 5 : Oni Palace : Pipe Room ************************** After the third fight with Gogandantess the next room is full of pipes and fire. Climb onto the top pipe and you will see some platforms you can jump across to the exit, but don't go there yet. There should be a whole pipe that leads to a ladder, so run across and climb up. The puzzle box here has a power jewel. The solution is: Right Side, Bottom Arrow Bottom Side, Right Arrow Top Side, Left Arrow Left Side, Top Arrow Top Side, Middle Arrow 6 : Trade With Ekei ******************* Each sub character owns one power jewel. It is best to trade for these in Imasho town, and even if you trade the right item you will not always get the jewel since almost all trade results are random to some extent. The best way to deal with this is to save at the mirror behind the pub and the try a trade item. If you don't get the jewel you can always reload and try again. Patience is a virtue! These are some good items to give to Ekei to get his jewel: Grilled Fish Loaded Dice Tengu Mask Raw Fish Folding Fan Note that you can get a jewel with many other items but I have listed these because they are not of much value for trading with other characters, so you can reserve them for Ekei. 7 : Trade With Magoichi *********************** Each sub character owns one power jewel.
