Note: You DO NOT directly equip or wear the runes themselves. You MUST forge the runes into an item before it can be put to use. Runes come in three main types: Base, Modifier, and Power. For each item you forge, you must pick one of each type of rune, and the combined powers and abilities of all the runes will be passed onto the item you create. The more powerful the runes you add to your forged item, the more difficult the "forging mini-game" will be. See the forging section for more information about this. As mentioned, runes come in one of three types. Base Rune - This rune will determine what the final form of the item and where it will be worn; on the body, an accessory, helmet or as a weapon. Modifier Rune - This rune will modify the ability of one or both of the base and power runes Power Rune - This provides some form of a power boost to the item There are 4 runes that create weapons, 2 runes that create garments for the body, 2 runes for headgear, and 7 runes for accessories. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_{Rune List}-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- The list of runes is in the following format: RUNE NAME (RUNE TYPE) Location: LOCATION - Runekeeper: RUNEKEEPER ABILITY RUNE NAME - the name of the rune RUNE TYPE - the type of rune (base, modifier, power). If the rune is a base type rune, then the type of item it will form is also included LOCATION - the name of the map location where this rune can be found RUNEKEEPER - the guardian you must fight before you will gain the rune ABILITY - the ability that the rune provides when forged *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Alphabetically Sorted List~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Rune of Air (Power Rune) Location: Agarian Pass - Runekeeper: Lv15 Griffon Gives +8 to Yellow Mana at the beginning of each combat. Once you do that, you will automatically receive your first three runes and can start forging. To forge an item, you must select one runes from each of the three types of runes and you will enter into a mini-game which you must complete to successfully forge the item. The more powerful the runes, the more difficult the forging mini-game becomes. From Gametician: In your runes FAQ you state that the quality of rune items is based on the difficulty of forging the item, and that the difficulty is based on the quality of the runes you use. This is only partly true. The difficulty of forging is solely dependant on the modifier rune. Easy = Rune of Crafting Moderate = Rune of Mastery Hard = Rune of Goblins Very Hard = Rune of Dwarves Extremely Hard = Rune of Mages Insane = Rune of Chaos Almost Legendary = Rune of Elves Legendary = Rune of Giants Almost Godlike = Rune of Dragons Godlike = Rune of Gods Quoting Xavier Brown: There appears to be an error in your guide, from the "Forging" section, under the part contributed by Gametician. The modifier rune alone does not control the difficulty of the item; at this moment, I am matching the Rune of Flight, Rune of Gods, and Rune of Poison and the difficulty of the item is "Legendary" not "Godlike." Therefore, the difficulty of the item is not soley dependant upon the modifier rune. Runes are NOT consumed in forging, so you are free to use them as much as you want. Once you have 5 (or 6?) rune items you must sell them in a shop (for 1 gold) before you are able to forge another item. In the mini-game, there will be small hammer and anvil icons which you need to eliminate to win the mini-game. Depending on the difficulty of the item you are trying to forge, you will need a different amount of hammer and anvils. There are three ways to eliminate hammer and anvils: 1) Match three or more hammer and anvils 2) Eliminate hammer and anvils with row or column destruction 3) Have hammer and anvils within the 3x3 blast radius of exploding +5 skulls If you match four in a row, then the row or column with which the four in a row is aligned with will be eliminated, hence, row or column destruction. Matching five in a row will eliminate all of the matching types, as well as a row or a column. The special rule for this mini-game is that whenever a hammer and anvil is destroyed, the entire board resets. This can be either good or bad, but is generally beneficial. Since you lose when there are no more moves left on the board, the board resetting can open up many new moves, so always keep this in mind. If you run out of moves and lose, you can try again without any penalty, except to have restart the forging process. This can be quite frustrating when creating an item needing a lot of hammer and anvils, and failing near the end. arieswind has created a small list of the general number of hammer and anvils you need to break for each difficulty level. 1-4 Easy 5-6 Moderate 7-8 Hard 9-10 Very Hard 11-12 Extremely Hard 13-14 Insane 15-16 Almost Legendary 17-18 Legendary 19-20 Almost Godlike 21 Godlike I haven't fully verified if all of this is correct, but for the most part it is fairly close, so if anyone has any more accurate results to submit, please send them to us. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_{Forged Item Names}-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Depending on the difficulty of creating an item, the "quality" of an item changes. This quality is reflected in the name of the resulting rune item that you create. This section contains a list of the various names that your rune item will have depending on the quality of it. The list is sorted by the type of rune. Example: "Dagger of Fire" is created from "easy" difficulty forging "Poniard of Fire" is created from "moderate" difficulty forging "Shiv of Fire" is created from "hard" difficlty forging Therefore, the Poniard is a higher quality than the Dagger, but lower quality than the Shiv. The ranks of quality are based upon the following 10 ranks of difficulities: Easy Moderate Hard Very Hard Extremely Hard Insane Almost Legendary Legendary Almost Godlike Godlike Rune of Daggers (Weapon) Dagger Poniard Shiv Kris Poker Razor Thorn Spike Dragonfang Godblade Rune of Swords (Weapon) Sword Broadsword Shortsword Runesword Blade Falchion Rapier Brand Dragonslayer Avenger Rune of Crowns (Helmet) Crown Diadem Cap Helm Tiara Horns Circlet Greathelm Crest Halo Rune of War (Accessory) Flag Banner Badge Symbol Field Mark Standard Totem Wing Aura Rune of Thought (Accessory) Scroll Tome Codex Manual Lexicon Grimoire Book Tablet Hide Writ Rune of Flight (Body) Cloak Cape Drape Mantle Shroud Veil Shawl Cover Scale Vestments Rune of Roads (Accessory) Shoes Greaves Sandals Boots Slippers Sabatons Striders Footwraps Talons Geta Rune of Lava (Body) Belt Strap Cinch Waistguard Cord Grasp Sash Girdle Sinew Clasp Rune of Serpents (Accessory) Ring Bracelet Loop Bracer Seal Circle Signet Hoop Band Link Rune of Axes (Weapon) Hand Axe Hatchet Chopper Battle Axe Tomahawk Reaver Francisca Cleaver Dragontooth Edge Rune of Staves (Weapon) Stick Wand Pole Rod Staff Splinter Sceptre Quarterstaff Tail Pillar Rune of Orbs (Accessory) Orb Sphere Ball Crystal Phylactery Scarab Stone Globe Eye Shard Rune of Music (Accessory) Zither Harpanola Horn Bugle Lyre Didgeridoo Psaltery Alphorn Dragonhorn Harp Rune of Jewels (Helmet) Necklace Pendant Bauble Medallion Amulet Talisman Charm Chain Collar Relic Rune of Shields (Accessory) Shield Guard Buckler Protector Targe Disk Defender Bulwark Reflector Aegis What were the developers smoking when they came up with most of these names and especially the order in which they put them? -_- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-{Contact Info}-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- eishin's email address is "bcw@well.com" and Zaraf's email address is "fqureshi.zaraf@gmail.com".
