Yukimura Sanada/Sanada Family Information Koei's Background Info: Yukimura, his father Masayuki Sanada and their small army fought bravely against Ieyasu Tokugawa at the Battle of Sekigahara and gained fame and honor for defeating a much larger foe. At that time, Yukimura parted ways with older brother Noboyuki, and set off with his father and the western army to hold back Hidetada Tokugawa (son of shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa) at Ueda Castle. Upon the defeat of the western army, he fled to Kudoyama and waited 14 years, then accepting Hideyori Toyotomi’s invitation to Osaka Castle. During the wintertime battle at Osaka, he constructed Sanada Castle, demonstrating his resourcefulness and bravery. He rejected an offer from Ieyasu Tokugawa to govern the province of Shinano, opting instead to oppose him on the battlefield until the end. At the summertime battle of Chausuyama, he broke through the enemy army and reached Tokugawa’s flag three times, instilling fear in Tokugawa until his dying day. Additonal Info(From http://www.samuraideeperkyo.us) : Yukimura Sanada 1567-1615 Known as a wise samurai general, Yukimura of the Sanada Clan from Ueda fought with his father in the Western Army. After his father's death, Yukimura would have been the new warlord of the Sanada Clan, but he resigned and gave authority to one of his brothers to control the family line and instead disappeared into the mountains with his band of Koga ninjas(including the loyal Sasuke and Saizou). This was all part of the plan to make it look as if Sanada had been demolished. Yukimura and his ninja took refuge within the temple of Kunoichi-ryu, who were bitter enemies of the Shogun and agreed to help him. Their big chance came in 1614 when the Tokugawa regime was challenged by Hideyori Toyotomi. He was the son of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who once served under the warlord Nobunaga Oda. Sanada and his "Ten Brave Warriors", the Jyuyuushi. defended the Toyotomi Clan in what is called the "Winter Campaign" at Osaka in 1614. He helped fortify the castle with his army in what is known as "The Sanada barbican". however, the next year, in the "Summer Campaign" of 1615, Tokugawa's forces were able to burn down the castle and Sanada's fate ended in death, but not without revenge. Yukimura appeared in front of the Shogun Ieyasu and wounded him, only to be struck down and killed himself. =============================================================================== 4. How to get Yukimura Sanada's Fifth Level Weapon. Stage obtained in: Summer Campaign of Osaka Step by Step Guide: 1. Lure the two generals to Sanadamaru. 2. Destroy the enemy mobile cannons. 3. Do not let any generals into the castle at any time. 4. Visit your leader/Return to Base. 5. Prevent/Defeat Date Masamune. 6. Defeat all enemy generals, except for Hanzou Hattori, & Ieyasu Tokugawa. 7. Get 1000 KOs. 8. Charge into the enemy camp and defeat the ambush party. If you have achived the above, a supply team will appear in southwest of the map. Defeat Supply Captian for the weapon. Detailed Step Guide: 1. First Lure the two generals to Sanadamaru, by running towards them and back to sanadamaru. A good way to do this is to first go to one of the generals, and then move back towards the blue X(Sanada-Maru), then go to the second general and lure him back to the X. Pretty Simple. 2. Once done luring the 2 generals to sanada-maru, ignore the two generals you just lured, and go defeat the cannons. Most likely atleast one of the generals you lure will follow you, so try to advoid them, for now, and concentrate on killing the cannons. Once you have defeated the mobile cannons, go back and defeat the generals that are in front of the castle's main gate, which would inculde the two generals you lure and the ones by the east and west gates. 3. Once you have done that, return to your base, your Toyotomi will not open the gates for you. Proceed to the west gate now, and go through and around to where your Toyotomi is. While your going through to your Toyotomi, Hanzou's ninja units will appear, just run past them to your Toyotomi. Once you've talked to your Toyotomi, head back towards the west gate, rather quickly. 4. Date Masamune will show up at the west gate and will attempt to enter the castle. I suggest being on Matsukaze, cause Date tends to get through the gate rather quickly. Defeat Date before he enters. Date isn't that hard to beat, but if you are running low on health, try to defeat a squad leader such as, strike ninjas, sky ninjas, head muskets, etc. 5. After you have prevented and defeated date, Ieyasu Tokugawa will send all of his units to charge the castle. Look on the map, and look to see where the enemy generals are, defeat them before they enter the castle, to ensure that no one on your side dies, then clear out Hanzou's ninja unit thats in the castle. Also clear the west and east gate of enemys. I would suggest capturing both of the gates that are at the east and west castle gates to prevent more enemys from entering the castle. After you have cleared most of the castle, go out in front of the castle and start killing enemys. A good way to rack up kills is to sit by gates and kill the enemys that come out, but dont kill the gate captian, until you have atleast about 875-950 Kos. 6. You will notice on the pause screen that Ieyasu has a couple sub generals left, and maybe a general. Most of the time, all of the generals charge the castle when Ieyasu tells his units to charge. Go defeat his sub generals and any enemy generals remaining. By this time, you should have atleast 925 kos. If not go back and kill more enemys. 7. Once you have about 925 kills, charge into the Tokugawa Camp. When you enter you will be ambushed. Kill all of the units when you are ambushed. By the time you've done this, you will have 1000 Kos. Which in turn will trigger the Supply Team to come out. Head towards the southwest of the map and intercept them, and defeat the captian. A preious item report will show on the screen when you have picked up the weapon. Now go back into the Tokugawa camp. You will want to be quick cause by this time, you will be running out of time. Ieyasu will retreat and will leave Hanzou to deal with you. Defeat Hanzou Hattori to end the stage. 8. Enjoy your new fifth level weapon. Required to get Fifth Level Weapon: 1. Misc Tips on Yukimura Sanada Play Style and Stages How to Unlock Arabian Saddle: (Note* I added this cause it deals with one of Yukimura's Missions) Stage: Summer Campaign of Osaka - Upper Path, Last Mission. 1. Lure the two generals to Sanadamaru. 2. Defeat the Mobile Cannons. 3. Prevent any generals from entering the castle. 4. Visit your Toyotomi. 5. Prevent Date Masamune from entering castle. 6. Defeat Date Masamune before he enters the west gate. After you have achived the above the supply team will appear at the gate west of in front of the castle, and will move towards the gate near the east gate. Defeat the Captian for the Item. Detailed Guide: First lure the two generals to sanadamaru. Once you have lured them to sanadamaru, defeat them. Then proceed to defeat the enemy cannons, I would suggest killing the two closest to the main keep, then kill the ones that are moving towards the main keep. After you have defeated the cannons, go visit your Toyotomi. He will not open the gate for you, so go around to the west gate, and proceed though that way to visit the Toyotomi, while going through Hanzou's Ninja Unit will appear, just ingnore them. Once you have visited your Toyotomi, head back towards the west gate farily fast. Date Masamune will appear at the west gate and attempt to enter the castle. Defeat Date before he enters the castle. Once you have defeated date, the supply team will appear. They appear at the very west gate in the middle of the map and head towards the gate that is next to the east gate. There are two way to intercept them. One is to go directly down from where you defeated date and go to the west gate where the appear. Second one would be to head to the east gate thats next to the castle's east gate. I would recommend usin Matsukaze Saddle. But they move kind of slow, and you should be able to catch them. Defeat the Supply captian. A Precious item report will show up when you have picked up the weapon. After you have gotten the weapon, charge into the Tokugawa camp. You will be ambushed. Defeat all of the enemys that ambush you. The gates will open. Ieyasu will flee and will leave Hanzou Hattori to defeat you. Defeat Hanzou Hattori to end the stage. Note* It can be on any diffuclty(easy, normal, hard, chaos) A combo that I have found that works very well on Generals is Yukimura's S+S+S+T+T+T Attack, its mutliple stabs takes generals life down pretty quickly, if the combo is done repeatly. Another Combo I find usefull is Yukimura's S+T+T+T+T, as it does a fair ammount of damage. Yukimura's Running attack is a great crowd clearer. Combining Parry and Block Rare Skills helps alot agianst ranged attackers like muskets and arrowsmen. Always get Mastery Rare Skill, as it gives you True Musou without your health being in red. Vitailty, Rage, Potence, and Focus are good skills to invest in. To Find better items and weapons during a stage, Eqiup the Kappa Ammulet and get level 3 discern, these two incease luck and weapon finds, and play Kunoichi's rescue at Ueda Castle on Chaos Mode. =============================================================================== 17.
