It details all the skills for each fusion, and the conditions for achieving every fusion. Both characters' fusions are included because one of Yuri's fusions is dependent on one of Kurando's. Neither of them can equip crests and all their skills come from their fusion forms. ----------------- Table of Contents ----------------- A. YURI'S FUSIONS 1. YURI'S FUSIONS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Yuri has six elemental fusions and three special fusions that require particular conditions to be fulfilled in order to access them. ======================== 1. THE ELEMENTAL FUSIONS ======================== The elemental fusions are: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Light and Dark, and each of these has three forms, or grades. These are obtained by receiving soul energy from monsters that are killed and then empowering the various altars found inside the graveyard. To get a grade fusion soul Yuri has to charge up an altar at the graveyard. To increase the level of any fusion soul you have to charge it up from the menu screen. It is really that simple. ---------------------- a) Getting Soul Energy ---------------------- The requirement to get soul energy is to fight battles. The more you fight and the more monsters slain, so the more soul energy you will get. However there are ways to speed up the process slightly. This is useful if you want to increase levels quickly and get the more powerful forms as early as possible. You can gain extra soul points in boss battles if you defeat them as fast as possible, in other words, only allowing them a minimum of turns. Some fights give extra soul points for a ring perfect victory. Sometimes a no- damage victory will get you extra soul points. A large number of hits can also be rewarded with bonus soul points. ------------------------------------- b) Using Soul Energy in the Graveyard ------------------------------------- In order to get a fusion Yuri must first go to the graveyard and fill the elemental stone with the required amount of soul energy. Unlike the first Shadow Hearts game, there is no requirement to kill the right elemental enemy in order to get the corresponding elemental soul energy. Any enemy will do! When he finds the stone, Yuri must place his hand on it and charge it with soul energy. You can choose the order in which you get the different elemental souls. You do not have to battle a soul in order to receive it's power. However once you get the soul drops, in order to get the third grade fusion, you DO have to fight a fusion monster, and these battles can be tricky at lower levels. (Below level 30) --------------------------------------- c) Using Soul Energy in the Menu Screen --------------------------------------- Once you have a fusion soul you can then increase its level from the menu screen. Any grade one fusion soul can be increased to level ten. It will not gain any new skills from the menu soul charge. To get more skills you need to get a higher grade soul. The best way to think of the levels is that they are shared by all the fusions of that element. You do not lose any soul energy points if you increase a Grade 1 soul to level 10 (or whatever level you choose) as the Grade two soul, when you get it at the graveyard, will start at whatever level the Grade 1 soul is at. So, for example, if you have increased the Grade 1 fusion soul to level 4 and then get the Grade 2 soul from the graveyard, that Grade 2 soul will be at level 4 and already have one of its additional skills. Then if you increase the level of that Grade 2 soul to 5 from the menu, it will gain another skill which will show up on the menu screen when you charge it up to level 5. ------------------------------- c) Location of Elemental Altars ------------------------------- It helps a bit to know where they all are. Some of the doors in the graveyard are closed and others are out of sight. From the entrance with the tree in front of you, there is a door to the left and one to the right. Left Door: Fire, Wind and Light ------------------------------- Go through the left one to find: red, white and yellow doors. The Fire Altar is to the right of the doorway and immediately visible. The Wind Altar is opposite it and not obvious. The Light Altar is directly opposite the entrance door. Right Door: Earth, Water and Dark --------------------------------- Go through the right one to find: blue, purple and green doors. The Earth Altar is down the screen and initially hidden from view. In fact it is to the left side of the entrance door. The Water Altar is to the right, and the Dark Altar is directly opposite the entrance door. -------------------- d) Levelling Fusions -------------------- Each grade can be levelled up to level 10. If you level up a grade 1 fusion, for example, to level 10, when you receive the next grade it will be at the same level, that is, also at level 10. So any levelling you do, the soul energy you use is not lost. If you level up a Grade 1 fusion from the menu screen it will not gain any new skills even if you level it up to ten. You do not have to go to the graveyard in order to level up a fusion once you have got it. You can do so from the menu by clicking onto Yuri, then Personal, and then Soul Charge for any fusion. By increasing the level, the stats of the fusion soul will increase as well, although the skills will not until particular requirements have been met. ----------------------- e) Second Grade Fusions ----------------------- You can increase the grade of the fusion soul in the graveyard. If you have increased its level sufficiently, (to level three at least), then it will gain new skills. If not, then it won't, at least until you increase the level. Keep the Grade 1 soul at level 1 and, although you can get the next grade soul at the graveyard if you have enough soul points, it will not have any new skills until it gets to level 3. So, for example, I increased Vastitas, the Grade 1 fusion soul, to level six. Although his stats increased, his skills did not. I then charged up the altar in the graveyard to get the Grade 2 fusion soul Sorm. Sorm then was at level six and had his extra skills of Stand and Thorn. If I had kept Vastistas at level one and charged up the altar to get the Grade two fusion soul Sorm, then Sorm would still be at level one and would not have these additional skills until his level was increased. Once you have obtained the second grade fusion you can no longer directly level up the first one. Not that this matters, because when you level up the second grade fusion, it automatically increases the level of the lower one. The menu screen will tell you when you receive a new skill as the result of levelling up the fusion. ---------------------- f) Third Grade Fusions ---------------------- The third grade fusion requires a Soul Drop for it to be uncovered, and there are six of these. They are found or received in particular locations. Details of these are in the separate section. However you can still increase the level of the lower grade fusions to 10 if you wish, BEFORE having received the requisite Soul Drop. There is NOT a particular Soul Drop for each elemental fusion soul. (This is unlike in Shadow Hearts, where you had to match the elemental soul drop with the fusion's element.) Because the Soul Drops are not specific to an element this means you can choose which one you want to access first. You can get the third grade fusion once you have a Soul Drop, and even if the second grade fusion is only at level 3. Once you have the Soul Drop, return to the graveyard and select any stone that is at level three. Place Yuri's hand on the altar and you will be asked this question: o------------------------------------------o | You feel powerful waves emanating from | | the (Element) Altar. Hold the Soul Drop | | up to it? | o------------------------------------------o Answer: o------------------------------------------o | Yes, hold the Soul drop up to it! | | | | Nah, not right now. | o------------------------------------------o Answer Yes to receive this message: o------------------------------------------o | The Soul Drop releases the Power of | | *Element*!! | | | o------------------------------------------o Say "Yes" and you will have to fight a fusion monster in order to get the third grade fusion soul. -------------------------------- g) Defeating the Fusion Monsters -------------------------------- All these fusion monsters have the same HP of 600, and MP of 200. For these battles you get no rewards: nothing at all except the soul fusion, of course! After each battle Yuri will be standing at a shining altar. Press X to get the soul. Once these have been received the altars will no longer have any further message. WIND Fusion Monster: Erisvorch ------------------------------ This one casts a speed spell on itself (Gale), and one of its attacks will lower Yuri's speed (Slow). This means that it can have two or more attacks to your one. This makes it a tough battle if Yuri is at a low level. One way to deal with this is to have Yuri fuse into Grano and so he can cast Gale too. Battle Quote. Yuri: Yaaah! I did it! *You got a Libertis Soul!!* EARTH Fusion Monster: Mocos --------------------------- This one casts Shield to increase physical defense by 30%. Yuri can use Grano/ Libertis and cast Gale and use Slash. Battle Quote. Yuri: There, that did the trick! *You got a Gaudion Soul!!* DARK Fusion Monster: Veles -------------------------- Uses Surge to increase special attack by 30%, and Special Attack Down physical attack. Using Granos/Libertis again you can increase speed and then keep attacking and win easily. Battle Quote. Yuri: Damn, that feels good! *You got a Somnion Soul!!+ LIGHT Fusion Monster: Svarog ---------------------------- The monster will cast Barrier to increase its Special Defense by 30%. Its physical attack includes Special Defense Down or an SP reducing move. It also casts Nova. Use a Dark Fusion and cast Surge to increase Special Attack and then whichever is your current strongest attack. Battle Quote. Yuri: He, he. That's better! *You got a Miserati Soul!!* WATER Fusion Monster: Pripegala ------------------------------- This monster starts by casting Mirage to increase evasion. Use Barbaria or another fire fusion and boost your attack and then smash it to bits. Battle Quote. Yuri: That takes care of that! *You got a Veneficium Soul!!* FIRE Fusion Monster: Svarozic ----------------------------- Svarozic casts Rage to increase physical attack, so using Mirage with a Water fusion soul is a good idea. Its next attack is Physical Attack Down. So hit it with water magic damage. Then it casts Magma. Battle Quote. Yuri: Phew! I'm ready to go, now! *You got a Fides Soul!!* ----------------------------------- h) Summary of All Elemental Fusions ----------------------------------- To get to level 10 the total experience needed in soul energy points is 900. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level Soul Points Soul Points to Get to the Next Level =------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Level 1 0 20 Level 2 20 40 Level 3 60 60 Level 4 120 80 Level 5 200 100 Level 6 300 120 Level 7 420 140 Level 8 560 160 Level 9 720 180 Level 10 900 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Symbols |^| = up hit |v| = down hit >> = hard hit => = stop hit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Element Name Level Skill MP Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earth 1: Vastitas 1 Shield 12 Increases Physical Defense Power for one ally 1 Crag 16 Earth Class Special Damage. Linear, medium/1 hit/|^| Mind/Body Revival 3 48 Fully restores HP and awakens one Unconscious ally The End 5 54 Non-class Special Damage. Circular, medium/1 hit>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Location -------- Obtained at the Mirror Castle, as part of the main plot. You cannot miss this! ---------- Conditions ---------- You must have access to Goreme Valley in order to get this fusion soul. This occurs after you have completed the first series of events in Petrograd, but before Idar Flamme. Yuri and Karin enter the Mirror Castle in order to find Amon. ---------- Directions ---------- This place is confusing to navigate and the excellent map by nyogi_gjd at GameFAQs is very helpful in finding your way through here. 1. To start this quest, first speak to Bishop Jovis in the room to the right of the church. Then after some scenes Yuri and Karin will be in the graveyard. Open the door opposite the entrance. 2. From the first circular room go through the door and follow the corridor to the north as it twists and turns. Ignore all the mirrors. 3. When you reach a door in the far north wall go through and you will be in a room with a fireplace, furniture and a mirror. 4. Approach the mirror and fight the enemies that are your mirror selves. 5. Then you will be on the other side of the mirror. In this room you can save your game and be healed by Jovis who will appear in the mirror. 6. Now leave the room using the door that is somewhat hidden from view. It is in the southern wall and to the far right of the room. 7. From here go down and immediately go through the gap in the wall to your right, that is, to the west. Follow this corridor and at the end of it there is a mirror. DO NOT go through here. 8. Hidden from immediate view, (at least it was for me) there is another door in south side of the wall just before the mirror. 9. Go through this door and again follow the corridor as it twists and turns until you come to another door. Go in here and you are in the mirror image of the room where you first entered the Mirror Castle. There will be a chest in the centre of the room. Open it to find a key. 10. Now go back the way you came to the mirror I told you NOT to go through. This time go through it and follow the corridor north again to the room with the fireplace. 11. Go through the door on the north wall and up to the end of the corridor. SAVE your game here and then go through the door. Go forwards to trigger a scene and the fight with Amon will begin. ------------- Fighting Amon ------------- Non-Class, HP: 765 MP: 268 His attack The End can damage both Yuri and Karin badly. Make sure she can heal and has the best crest magic. Use combos for the most damage and Yuri's strongest fusions: Earth or Fire. After the battle Yuri gets Amon's soul. ============ 3. NEO AMON ============ Neo-Amon is the higher grade fusion for Amon. -------------------- Neo Amon's Abilities ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill Level MP Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Demon Rage 1 36 Non-class Special Damage. Linear, medium/1 hit/|^| Mind/Body Revive 3 48 Fully restores HP and awakens one Unconscious ally The End 5 54 Non-class Special Damage. Circular, medium/1 hit>> Not Yet! 8 56 restores a small amount of HP to all Unconscious allies. "Die Scumbag!" 9 88 Non-class Special Damage. Circular,large/ 18 hits/|^| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Location -------- Attained through completing the side quest at Tiffauges Castle. ---------- Conditions ---------- Once you have entered the final dungeon after the raising of the stone platform many sidequests become available. You will, of course, already have Amon, from going through the Mirror Castle and now you have the chance to get Neo-Amon. First visit Florence and speak to the fat man, "Backstreet Nero", who is situated near the houses on the far side of the fountain. Agree that you want to know about the place he tells you about, and when you leave Florence the new location of Tiffauges Castle will open up. Select this and you are inside automatically. You cannot get out of here until you find the way. ---------- Directions ---------- I used the excellent map by noypi_gjd to help with my directions. There are treasures to find in here and people to talk to, but this is just the fastest way to Neo-Amon. You can return here if you wish. 1. From the start point follow the long corridor through going north until you get to a room. 2. Go through here and follow the corridor again to the very end when you can pass through the mirror. 3. Go on until you see a small child,"Maivia Full of Curiosity" standing next to a mirror. Go to the mirror and you will pass through to the other side. 4. From here go south, down the screen and follow the corridor until you can go through the next mirror. 5. Follow the corridor, going past another child, and go through the mirror on the left side of the screen half-way down the corridor. 6. Go up and save at the save point in the corner. Then continue to the left and through the final mirror. You will have to fight some enemies here, the same as you have already been dealing with, so nothing challenging. (By the way in case you want the very useful item Crucifix if you go south from the save point and through the room to the other side it is in a chest at the corner of the next junction.) 7. You can then proceed and through the final door. You still have time to check everything before moving forwards to the red circle on the floor to trigger the scene and battle. ----------------- Fighting Neo Amon ----------------- Non Class, HP: 6660 MP: 777 Uses The End, Red Crest, and physical attacks. This is not a hard fight to win. Just combo a lot and use a few buff spells to help protect your party. After the battle Albert Simon gives Yuri Neo-Amon's soul. Whatever level you have reached with Amon, Neo-Amon will arrive at the same level. ================ 4. DARK SERAPHIM ================ This is Yuri's Ultimate Fusion and well worth the effort to get. ------------------------- Dark Seraphim's Abilities ------------------------- Dark Seraphim comes to you at Level One. WGT Normal SP 7 /turn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill Level MP Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Everyone... 1 72 Increase Status for all allies For Tomorrow... 4 88 Non-class Special Damage + HP drain. Single/1 hit => For the Child... 7 160 Non-class Special Damage. All/30 hits/* (targets and chains attacks) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Location -------- Found inside the graveyard. You must go there directly from the menu. ---------- Conditions ---------- Attained through fulfilling these conditions: a) Access and visit the final dungeon at the Asuka Stone Platform. b) Have all of Yuri's fusions including Amon and Neo Amon. c) Have all Yuri's fusions to Grade 3. In other words, you must have all the soul drops too, and have fought and defeated all 6 fusion soul monsters. d) Have obtained Kurando's Jutendouji fusion from the Dog Shrine. IMPORTANT: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE ALL THE FUSIONS AT LEVEL 10 to pick up the Reborn Droplet in the graveyard, and to enter the battle for the Dark Seraphim fusion soul. ---------- Directions ---------- Visit the graveyard and pick up the item that is slightly to the left of the tree at the front. This is the Reborn Droplet. If you enter from the main graveyard gate and go to the tree it will be just before the camera changes to the close up of the tree. You can get this item at the same time in the graveyard after defeating the last of the 6 fusion monsters. I got the Droplet with only one of Yuri's fusions at level 10 and neither of Kurando's. After defeating the final monster as I was leaving the graveyard the Reborn Droplet was there at Yuri's feet as he turned to go out of the gate coming back from the left hand door. It lies exactly at the point to the left as the camera shifts from close up to far away. Then go straight ahead behind the tree and through the door to the Labyrinth. Go straight through here to the right and though the next two doors. After a scene you will be in a battle with Dark Seraphim. ---------------------- Fighting Dark Seraphim ---------------------- A lot will depend on Yuri's current level. I was level 58 when I tackled Dark Seraphim. His attacks are powerful and the problem is keeping Yuri healthy. For Tomorrow heals DS for the same as it hurts Yuri: around 350 HP. For Everyone increases all DS's stats and that means he can do powerful damage. This means that you must keep Yuri at full health. You could use Fides as you have the Energy Charge skill, and then use a Key for a powerful physical attack. However speed is very important in this battle and I prefer Neo Amon for his greater speed and vitality. Fides and a fifth Key after Energy Charge was not enough to kill DS in one attack, and after DS used For Everyone he defeated Fides in one physical attack. You could try the Seventh Key if you have got it from the revisit to Neam quest with Anastasia. You have to keep healed with items as they do not use up a whole turn, and DS was doing around 350 damage a turn. Neo Amon at level 10 is in fact faster than DS for this battle, and his Die Scumbag! attack does good damage. Use a Key and a physical attack to help make the fight finish faster. This strategy proved more effective for me. You get 99999 experience and 350 soul and 50000 cash. o-----------------------------------------o | The bond with his father has reawakened | | the power sealed in Yuri's heart! | o-----------------------------------------o *You got a Dark Seraphim Soul!* Yuri will automatically leave the graveyard. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> B. SOUL DROPS' LOCATIONS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> I have listed these in the order in which they can first be found in the game. The first three can be found before in Europe BEFORE leaving for Asia at the end of Disc One. If you miss them you can get them later after returning to Europe. However, it is worth the extra effort to find them as soon as you can, even if you are not ready to battle the third grade fusion monsters. The Soul Drops do not become available until en event occurs in Petrograd when Yuri visits the graveyard and talks with Jeanne. This is part of the plot and you do not have to do anything to trigger it. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Cannes: Wine Cellar: Jimote's Box Game, second round prize ------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Cannes at any time after the events here have been completed and go to the Wine Cellar. From the save point go left and down the main corridor to the very end. Go left through the door and over the walkway to the other side of the room. Go through the door to find someone waiting there. This is "Jimote, With a New Business" You have to play a minigame with him to match hidden chest contents. Play and win the first round. Now for the second round. Leave the room and then go back in and he will say that he has some new prizes! Lucky Chests ------------ Round One. Prize: Mr Chef It costs 100 cash to play. The first round is easy: there are two rows of eight closed chests. You select two to open and hope the contents match. Then if they don't the chests will be closed again and you have another go. Remember the contents of the ones you have already opened and choose a new one. If they match then you go on to try another two until you have them all. You only have two chances, so if you guess wrong the second time you lose. The first go there will be four Thera Leaf and two Mana and two Pure Leafs. You get Mr. Chef. A card for another doll for Gepetto. Round Two. Prize: Soul Drop It costs 300 cash to play. This time there are twelve treasure chests and you have three chances to win. I would suggest drawing a sketch of the chests and writing down the items to make sure you remember where they are if you need to. They are arranged in three rows of four in a row. Exactly the same drill as before. There are Pure Seed, Mana Seed, Therea Seed ----------------------------------- 2. Goreme Valley: inside the church ----------------------------------- This soul drop is very easy to find and can be obtained early on in the game, after your first visit to Goreme Valley, which takes place after the first series of events in Petrograd, Russia. Once you have completed the events in the Mirror Castle and leave the valley to return to Petrograd, go back to the valley and go all the way through the passage and metal door at the end into the chapel. Mr. Lawrence will be here, standing on the left hand side. Speak to him and he will give you the soul drop. ------------------------------------- 3. Domremy Village: inside the church ------------------------------------- The original location will be open again after the events in Russia so you can revisit. Select from the world map. You start in the forest. Go up and at the first junction go up the screen, then right. At the next area go left and then right and you will see the village in the distance. Go through the village (you can talk to everyone here if you wish). Go on past the save point to the church. Go inside and up to the altar. You will notice a gleam of light to the left side at the corner of the window. Simply pick it up to get another Soul Drop. To return to the world map go back to the village entrance and down the path. At the junction turn down the screen towards the sunlight, and then go left. At the next junction go down the screen again moving forwards. Then left and down to exit. --------------------------- 4. Yokohama: Naniwa's house --------------------------- After speaking to Naniwa (at first only identified as "Mysterious Old Man") inside his house in Yokohama, go behind the pillar at the top of the room next to the buckets and there is a hidden chest with a soul drop. If you miss it the first time you will start from the entrance to the Yokohama Streets location. Go all the way right to the next screen and his house is on the left. Go inside and go right to search behind the pillar. ------------------------------------------- 5. Foreigner's Cemetery: by the white grave ------------------------------------------- After completing the events in the "Otherworld", and the following events in the Capital, you can return to the cemetery and find the soul drop. From the entrance go to the far side of the grass and past "Retired Old Man Iwai". Continue left and before you reach the next man "Azama, Mindful of his Ancestors", stop at the white central grave with a cross. This is where you find the soul drop. ----------------------------------- 6. Inugami Village: inside the shed ----------------------------------- After the events when you first arrive here, go right from where Kurando is standing as he will be leading the group. There is a small grey shed at the corner of the field. There is a hidden chest here and the Soul Drop is inside it. From the world map when you enter Inugami the shed is straight ahead of you on the right. (All credit to MikonoNyte for helping me to find this last Soul Drop.) <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> C. KURANDO'S FUSION FORMS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ============= 1. Tsukiyomi ============= Tsukiyomi is acquired through the main plot. --------------------- Tsukiyomi's Abilities --------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill Level MP Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 1: Hell's Light 64 Light class Special Damage. Linear, large/1 hit/|^| Level 4: Star's Shadow 48 Full HP, Status, Ring Abnormality recovery for one ally. Level 7: Moon's Rainbow 88 Light Class Special Damage. Circular, large/15 hits |v| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Conditions ---------- After the first visit to the Foreigner's Cemetery, in Japan, on Disc Two, Kurando receives his first fusion, or "Demon Morph" as it is called. After some events in the cemetery walk to the left across a bridge to a large platform and there Kurando will attack the party. After this battle your whole group is in the Otherworld. ------------------ Fighting Tsukiyomi ------------------ HP: 3600 MP: 555 Class: Light Uses Hell's Light and physical attacks. Counter this with Dark based attacks and combos. Keep healed! After Yuri and the party have defeated him, Kurando will join the group permanently and will have access to his first fusion form. You can raise his levels in the same way as Yuri's fusions with the Soul Charge. Interesting point: his affinity with Anastasia is 40 and Yuri 20 at first joining the team. ============= 2. Jutendouji ============= Jutendouji is attained through the side quest of the Dog Shrine. Getting this Demon Morph is complicated and involves two boss battles. ---------------------- Jutendouji's Abilities ---------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill Level MP Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 1: Ascetic's Fire 88 Non-class Special Damage. Single/10 hits/Anti-air/ |v| Level 4: Seven Bonds 32 Reduces one ally's Non-class Special Damage by 1/4 Level 7: Heavenquake! 160 Non-class Physical Damage. Single/25 hits >>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Conditions ---------- Once the stone platform has risen and the final stages of the game have been reached there are many things that you can now do. When you have got all of Yuri's fusions (except for Dark Seraphim) go to Inugami Village and speak to Saki and she will ask you to go on an errand to the Dog Shrine and give you the Dog Shrine Map and the stones for the puzzles. Leave the village and go to the new location. NOTE: You only need to have all Yuri's fusions, they do NOT need to be maxed out to level 10. ---------- Directions ---------- First you have to select one team which has Kurando in the lead. You do not have an option to change the party in this dungeon. In the first room Kurando explains the stones and the map. You have to place the stones in order to make connections between existing pathways and to open up new ones. Yuri says it sounds complicated, and he is right! Many thanks to Depthcharge for the FAQ at GameFAQs which helped me with these directions. I have used the same symbols for the tiles as these made sense to me. ----------------------------- The Fastest Route to the Boss ----------------------------- Stone Table One. Part One ------------------------- 1. Put the first "|" stone at the centre bottom of the table. Scroll through the stones using the directional buttons and put a "+" above it, and then a "-" to the left of the centre one. Go up the screen through the two doors and then left through two doors and get a REI stone from the chest in there. Go back to the main room: right twice and down twice. Stone Table Two --------------- 2. Press triangle to get the option to remove a stone and take out the left hand one using X. Now put " -|" in the top centre place. Now go up through four sets of doors and get the JIN stone from the chest in the next stone room. Stone Table Three ------------------ _ 3. This table has four slots. Put "| "at the top left corner, and "-" at the top right. Put "T" at the bottom right corner, "|_" at the bottom left. This will use up all the stones and look a bit like a G when you are done. Go up through the door and go left then up, then right, right again, into a blue room where you get another stone. ZAL. Go back the way you came: follow the arrows in the floor to show you the path. When you get to the last room it has three arrows. Go down the screen back to the room with the stone table. Remove all the stones. Go down again through four doors back to the first room and save point. Stone Table One. Part Two ------------------------- 1. Remove all the stones. (Triangle and the triangle again.) _ 2. Put "|" in the bottom centre, "-|" above it in the middle, "| " at the top centre, and "-" at the right hand top. This makes a path going up three and right at the top. 3. Now go up all the way until you reach a blank wall and then go right through two rooms to reach another table. Stone Table Four ---------------- 1. Place "|-" in the bottom left hand corner, and "T" at the bottom right hand corner. 2. Go up through the door and then right and right again. Stone Table Five ---------------- 1. Put "+" in here. There is only one place for it! 2. From here go down to a room with all four arrows showing and then go left (west), into a large circular room to get the ZEN stone. 3. From here you have to go back to the first room again. So go up and left and left again and down to reach Stone Table Four and then go left twice. Then down again and keep going until you reach the save point again. Stone Table One. Part Three --------------------------- 1. Remove all the stones. 2. Place "|" at the bottom centre place and the one that looks like an "i" but without the dot, above it. 3. Save your game and go up through the door to get a weapon for Kurando, the Mumeiro. Then meet the boss. --------------------- Fighting Hotoke Garan --------------------- This guy is mean as he uses Mind Assault which removes all MP. Black Vortex will reduce SP and do some damage to one or more characters, and Evil Summoning will hurt one character. (I used Lucia here and she cast Hanged Man which made all enemies lose two turns despite the fact she had no MP. Love that girl!) He is immune to Special Skills, which means no fusion magic for Yuri. Use Arc Rage to boost physical attack and then attack! I used Lucia and Anastasia for buffer spells and Yuri and Kurando to attack in combos. Also a third key with Kurando is useful. This is a nice fight to do as it gives a lot of experience and my party all increased three or four levels by the end of this dungeon: up to 53) ---------------------- Returning to Aunt Saki ---------------------- After the battle you will be on the world map so go back to Inugami Village to see Saki. Then leave. Then return again to see a scene with Kurando. Save and go down the path to the waterfall for a fight with Saki. ------------- Fighting Saki ------------- Kurando has to fight her alone. After some talk the fight begins with him in his new demon morph form: Jutendouji. He only has one special skill at this point: Ascetic's Fire, which does 10 hits. Start the fight using a third or fifth key. She uses a Seal attack which prevents any use of the skill. I then had to use a Thera Root to heal and got another attack. By using the fifth key she was dead at the end of the second attack. Kurando was at level 49 after this battle. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> D. ALL FUSIONS' STATS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ----------- Explanation ----------- These are so you can compare the relative merits of the fusions when they are at Level Ten. SP required for the elemental fusions is 3 for the grade 1, 4 for grade 2, and 5 for grade 3. The stats for the fusions are not affected by any equipment that Yuri or Kurando may have, however they are dependent on Yuri's and Kurando's current levels. In other words, the higher their level the higher the fusions stats. What this means is that the stats you see in the game menu are based on the current status of Yuri and Kurando, so there is no point in me recording those stats. There is a cap to the fusion form's stats. If Yuri is at a high enough level, say, level 70, the fusions may reach 99 for Strength, Vitality and even Agility. They cannot go higher than this. The stats listed here show the increases that each fusion gives, based on Yuri's or Kurando's status. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FUSION NAME LEVEL <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> E. USING FUSIONS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> This is just a bit of additional information on the fusions in action, so-to- speak. And a few of my personal favourites. -------------- General Points -------------- 1. You can switch from one fusion to another without great cost to SP. For example: you could use Libertis, to cast Arc Gale to increase everyone's speed and then switch to Somnion for Arc Surge to increase everyone's Special Attacks and then on a third turn, change to Neo Amon for Die Scumbag! 2. You have ALL the fusions that you have unlocked at your disposal in every battle. This is unlike in Shadow Hearts where you must equip them and are limited in choice. 3. If you start a combo with another character and it is Yuri's or Kurando's turn, you can select a fusion at that point, if they are not already in fusion form, with no risk of breaking the combo. -------------- Useful Fusions -------------- 1. One of my favourites is the second grade fusion, Sorm. Because of his huge size it is easy to spark off combos when using him, even if the affinity is not that high between the other characters. And you can access him early in the game. 2. A useful third grade fusion is Libertis because of the skill Arc Gale which increases everyone's speed. However, this skill is also available from crest magic which makes the fusion less significant. Gathering is fun to use against scattered groups of enemies as it will literally gather them all in one spot so the rest of your group can smash them to bits quickly. 3. Kurando's Jutendouji is fantastic for getting combos with a large number of hits as it has 25 hits, although it does up use a lot of MP. Combo with Dark Seraphim's For the Child and even without any other characters you have 55 hits straight away! 4. My all time favourite fusion is Yuri's Dark Seraphim. Unfortunately this fusion is not available until really late in the game, (unless you are playing the New Game Plus). However his ability to "chain" attacks where a target remains a target from one round to the next, makes him indispensable against powerful boss enemies. But no matter how useful his attacking skills are, I use him for every battle once I have unlocked him because he is just...so... beautiful. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> F. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Since the FAQ was posted there have still been some questions, and although I have redrafted some of the writing to make things clearer, (I hope), I decided to add this small section as well. Thanks to the people who posted questions on the SHC board and thanks to the people who helped to answer those questions. This list is based on those topics. Q: What is the difference between the soul charge in the menu screen and the soul charge in the graveyard? A: You use soul charge in the menu screen to LEVEL up a fusion. You use the soul charge in the graveyard to get a new GRADE of fusion soul. Q: What is the maximum level for a fusion? A: The maximum level for any fusion soul is 10. Q: Is it worth while getting the maximum level for all fusions? A: Not really. It is not essential except for gaining better stats and more skills: e.g. Neo-Amon's Die Scumbag! attack needs the soul to be at level 9. All the Grade 3 elemental fusions get another skill at level 9. Q: I read another FAQ that said you had to have all Grade 3 fusion souls at level 10, and both of Kurando's in order to get Dark Seraphim. Is this true? A: No. It is not. You must have all the Grade 3 souls and Kurando's two fusions but that is all. Q: How do you get more skills for a Grade 1 fusion? A: You can't. The Grade one fusions come with two skills and even if you level them up to 10, they still will have the same two skills. Q: How do you get more skills for a fusion? A: You can get more skills for a fusion when it is the right grade and the right level. Q: I got a GRADE 2 fusion at the graveyard but it still only has two skills. How do I get more? A: You have to increase the level of the fusion to get more skills. Grade 2 fusions will get more skills when they reach level 3 and again at level 5. Q: I have a Grade 2 fusion soul but now I can't level up the Grade 1 fusion. What is wrong? A: Nothing is wrong. If you increase the level of the Grade 2 fusion, the Grade 1 fusion will also have its level increased. Q: Is it better to max out the Grade 1 fusions to level 10 before getting the Grade 2 and 3 fusions? A: Not really. You could do with having the extra skills of the higher grade grade fusions as soon as you can get them. Q: Is it better not to bother increasing the level a Grade 1 fusion? A: No. Whatever level the Grade 1 fusion reaches, when you get the Grade 2 fusion for the same elemental soul, it will be at that same level. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> G.
