I hope you all enjoy this game as much as I did! This is a FAQ in progress so it is still incomplete, don't expect any major updates right away because I am busy with other stuff, I'll try to get this completed as soon as possible for all you gamers, but please be patient because as they say "Patience is a virtue." As usual if you find I have any errors, things I need to be clearer on, want to send comments, or leave any feedback on whether the was helpful I would greatly appreciate it if you sent me an e-mail, however please make sure the game title is in the subject header and do not send me any junk, hate or spam, if I get any it will be deleted immediately without even looking at it. Also normally I don't do this, but I would like to start contributing a lot more to GameFaqs, so you can e-mail with a request to write one for a specific game, I will do so provided that it is a game which will interest me, it is on one the systems I own, which is a PS2, PS3, Gamecube, or Wii (so don't ask me about anything that's on the 360,) and there aren't a bunch of other FAQs already written, if I can get a copy of the game then I will gladly do it, anyways enough with my long-winded introduction on to the FAQ. ============================================ Version History [Raiho0020] ============================================ .02: Main Walkthrough started, completed only up until the Tento Woods in Chapter 2, some charts for weapons are up but not all and some Case Files have been put in as well. .03: Completed the Main Walkthrough up to the start of Chapter 3, added in some more Case Files and more information in the Sword Alchemy Section. Once done the game will start, I will be using the NTSC-U/C translations of just about everything just to make it easier for people, so I won't directly translate anything. ============================================ PROLOGUE ============================================ ============================================ Kuzunoha Training Hall ============================================ Items: Commendation, Summoner Badge, Explorer Badge Enemies: Ichimokuren, Jack Frost, Koropokkuru, Oumitsunu, Pixie Boss: Jorougumo ============================================ After some dialogue you will be given the chance to name Raidou, some more dialogue and you get to meet a familiar face when presented with a choice pick whichever choice you want, you will then be taken to the Ritual of Battle so if you are new to the game then this is your chance to learn about the battle system, previous players will just get a refresher. After the first two battles you'll see a scene and you gain your first Demon Ally, after two more battles move on, you'll get some more scenes and automatically be able to summon two demons at once. -Alignment Choice- You're at that age where you would prefer females anyways right? "Of course I am." "No, not really." After some more scenes you'll be in the final battle of the Ritual. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Jorougumo ================================ Frail: Zio |Attacks: Weak: |Mazan Strong: |Strike Null: | Drain: | ================================ Exp: 26 Loyalty: None Yen: 250 Items: Jin Dan ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 4 Tam Lin Lvl 3 Alraune Lvl 3 ================================ Strategy: Set Tam Lin's Zio and Alarune's Dia skills to Auto Repeat, when Jorougumo looks like she's going to use Mazan (you'll know it by the green whirlwind forming around her) press L2 call you allies away from her. When she gets to around half her HP you'll learn about how demons can dodge, when she gets stunned by Zio attack her with a special sword attack (press triangle) or use Fire Slash. This is a very easy battle so you shouldn't have to worry about dying. ================================ After the battle watch some more scenes and you will find yourself at the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda, watch more scenes, then when prompted save your game. Prologue Complete. ============================================ CHAPTER 1: AN ENIGMATIC WOMAN [CHAP1] ============================================ ============================================ Narumi Detective Agency ============================================ Items: None Valuables: Dahn's Photo Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch the actual opening movie and then some scenes will follow you are given a choice. -Alignment Choice- "No, we better not." "You should take it." Watch some more scenes, after you can view Gouto's Notebook at anytime in the menu by selecting the Reference Heading, leave the Detective Agency. ============================================ Tsukudo-Cho ============================================ Items: Anti-Mind x2, Jin Dan, Medicine, Ox Bezoar Valuables: Four Wind Tiles Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ The antique shop Konnou-Ya which also houses the Gouma Den is in the Karukogawa Shopping District two screens west. First before we start with this case we are going to do some exploring, from the entrance of the Detective Agency go down and examine the sparkling object to receive and Ox Bezoar, go up the alleyway north then head west, examine the sparkle in the north for a medicine, from here head south and when you exit the alley go north. On this screen head south again and you will see a maid standing next to the telephone pole, speak with her and when she asks where the Narumi Detective Agency is tell her, doing this opens up a Case File. Go back to the Narumi Detective Agency and accept it, you should do this Case File right away, why? You'll find out in a little bit. ============================================ Case File 1-7: Lab Rats ============================================ To actually be able to do this one you need to enter Dark Tsukudo-Cho, when you accept the Case File Gouto will tell you how to get into Dark Tsukudo-Cho, so take the street car to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda. ============================================ Dark Tsukudo-Cho ============================================ Valuables: Smoked Salmon, Tesseract Box ============================================ When you first enter Gouto will unlock another command for Raidou to use, this is an absolutely vital command as it allows you to negotiate with demons to them to join you or give you an item. Head north to the Dragon Cave and you'll see a scene, when presented with a choice pick whatever, at the second choice you can pick whatever again. After a couple more scenes you'll see another familiar face, when asked to help agree and he will hand over the Valuable: Tesseract Box, you will also receive the Valuable: Smoked Salmon. End of Case File ============================================ Now go back to where the Maid was and keep going south, when you get toe Ushigome-gaeri Bridge head west first and examine the sparkle for a Jin Dan. Next go back to the entrance to the bridge and head east, when the point of view changes hug the wall on the right to find a hidden sparkle and receive Valuable: Four Wind Tiles, continue following the road and go up into the dead end and find an Anti-Mind x2. These are all the items we can find Tsukudo-Cho. Now let's continue with the investigation, head back to the entrance of the Detective Agency and speak with the man standing next to the stairs on the right side, show him Dahn's Photo and he'll mention that Satake would be able to help you better. Head north again and this time take the stairs and you'll end up on the Kamishiro-zaka, speak with the man in the green kimono in front of Tawara-Ya on the left side of the street, he'll mention he saw a foreigner going towards the Tamonten Shrine, that's our next stop so head there now, the entrance is on the next screen. When you enter you'll see the foreigner the owner of Tawara-Ya mentioned, show him Dahn's Photo and he'll say he saw him in Fukugawa-Cho, let's head there now. Leave Tsukudo-Cho from any exit and take the street car to Fukugawa-Cho. ============================================ Fukagawa-Cho ============================================ Items: Anti-Mute, Fubuki Sake, Old Underwear, Ox Bezoar, Scoring Sticks, Wood Ornament Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Before entering Fukagawa-Cho go east and when you get to the second person keep going east and follow the path to pick up an Ox Bezoar, now go and enter Fukugawa-Cho. Where we want to go is right in front of us but we're going to disregard that for now and collect some items. Go east from the Daikoku-Yu Storefront and cross the Daikoku Bridge, when you reach the Fukagawa 6th Ward head south, when you see a little girl go east past her and get the Old Underwear in the corner, head south the go east, go north into the empty lot and pick up the Fubuki Sake go back and continue heading east ignoring the door to the docks and go the only way you can go, north, pick up the Anti-Mute on the right side as you move north and open the door, you'll be back in the Fukagawa 6th Ward, head south but pick up the Wood Ornament against the western wall. Keep heading south when the POV changes make sure to check the western corner to pick up Valuable: Scoring Sticks hidden behind one of the banners, with that all the items are collected. The exit next to the Show Room in the 6th Ward leads to the Red Light District, but we can't go there right now so just keep it in mind for later, also keep in mind the location of the Show Room in the 6th Ward because we will be back here for a Case File later on. Make sure you've done the Case File received from the maid, now let's head back to the Daikoku-Yu Storefront where you came in, enter. Inside talk to the two men in front if you want then talk to Satake who is on the far right side, show him Dahn's Photo and he'll say he won't help you unless you let him taste some Smoked Salmon, if you did the Case File from the maid the you should already have it, agree to give it to him and Satake will tell you about a guy named Tatsumi in Mannen-Cho, that's our next destination so let's get going. Also Gouto has updated his notebook so take a look at it you want. ============================================ Mannen-Cho ============================================ Items: Frost Steel, Jin Dan, Muscle Drink Valuables: Number Tiles Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Mannen-Cho is to the north of Fukagawa-Cho, just follow the path to the entrance, you'll be stopped briefly but granted passage after, enter Mannen-Cho. Once inside head north and go into the house on your right for a Jin Dan and leave. Head west following the alley all the way to the end, at the Abandoned Temple check the closest eastern lamp for Valuable: Number Tiles, back track and go east, at the next intersection go east again and follow the path as it goes south then east and head north staying close to the western wall, open the door to get a Muscle Drink, leave and continue north for a scene. Afterwards head east hugging the southern wall and open the door, inside you'll find a Frost Steel also make note of the Chicken hopping around outside for later. Now we can talk to Kogure Osamu, show him the photo and remember the phrase he gives you. Go back to the entrance of town, the Gambling Parlor is the house where the woman was standing outside, enter it and pick the second choice, on the other side enter the Gambling Parlor. Inside talk to the man in the blue suit and pick the first choice, then show him the photo, he'll refuse to help unless you "entertain" him which amounts to a simple coin flip, you lose no matter what option you choose so just pick whatever you want, he'll ask you if you want to try again just refuse. We now need to get a Pagan Demon (unless you already have one that is.) Leave Mannen-Cho, take the street car back to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda and select the Ritual of Entry after examining the shrine. ============================================ Dark Tsukudo-Cho ============================================ Items: Anti-Poison x2, Jin Dan, Life Stone x3, Medicine x2, Onyx, Ox Bezoar Valuables: None Enemies: Koropokkur, Obariyon, Onmoraki, Pixie, Poltergeist, Preta, Slime Boss: Inugami ============================================ When you enter from the bridge head west and examine the glowing blue crystal to get a Life Stone x3, now head to the eastern alley where you found the Anti-Mind x2 in Tsukudo-Cho, here you will find what looks like a mini yellow whirlwind, this is a Wind Current and can be used provided you have a Wind Order Demon like say Poltergeist, so summon Poltergeist and have him use his Investigative skill Kamikaze to be blown over to the Karukogawa Shopping District and open up the two crystal there for and Onyx and Ox Bezoar, keep heading east ignoring the portal and take the Wind Current back to the dead end alley. Go north past the Dragon Cave and enter the alley on your left for a Medicine x2, now go east and follow the path at the next screen keep heading east, talk to the Pyro Jack on the if you want and then continue on saving your game at the Dragon Cave, proceed north up the steps. On this screen you will see two item crystals in front of the entrance to the Tamonten Shrine containing and Anti Poison x2 and a Jin Dan, now do you see that weird looking fairy inside what appears to be a teardrop? That is Nakisawame, she'll charge you a fee to heal you, and will replenish your MAG for 3 yen per MAG, use her if you want and then continue south. Before you talk to the Inugami make sure to have Onmoraki set as one of your default Demons and make sure to have a Skill Demon like Pixie on hand because you'll need use her Investigative skill later on, when that's done talk with the Inugami to initiate a battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Inugami ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Fire |Strike Strong: Mind |Combo Null: Death |Dia |Pulinpa ================================ Exp: Loyalty: Yen: 500 Items: ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 9 Pixie Lvl 8 Onmoraki Lvl 6 ================================ Strategy: This is another straight forward battle; the only skill you need to watch out for is Pulinpa, because it will inflict Panic on Raidou or his demons. Set Onmoraki's Agi and Pixie's Dia skill to default repeat. If you have Fire Bullet use it on Raidou, if Raidou or his demon's get too low on HP (which shouldn't happen) use an item. Fire is your friend in this battle so between Onmoraki and Raidou attacking with his gun powered up with Fire Bullet you should be able to stun Inugami easily enough to take him out with Raidou's sword. ================================ After the battle some scenes will play and Inugami will ask you if he can join you, say yes. Congratulations, you now have a Pagan Order Demon with Mind Read. Some more scenes and you get to meet someone interesting, with Inugami in tow let's head back to Mannen-Cho, exit the Dark Tsukudo-Cho using the portal to north and this will bring you to Tsukudo-Cho, exit and take the street car back to Fukugawa-Cho/Mannen-Cho. ============================================ Mannen-Cho Revisited ============================================ Items: Manasaku Sake, Ox Bezoar Valuables: Tatsumi's Hair Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Go back into the Gambling Parlor and use Inugami's Mind Read on Tatsumi, afterwards speak with Tatsumi again and a second choice has become available, pick it and Tatsumi will run off. Follow him down the path and enter the house he ran into, after which you'll immediately be chased out. Back outside Gouto suggests that Raidou transforms into Tatsumi to get by, he'll run off when he returns pick whatever choice you want and you'll receive Valuable: Tatsumi's Hair. This is why you need Pixie, summon her hit L1 and select Tatsumi's name to transform into him, you need to remain in that form as you make your way through the houses. When you get out to where you met Kogure head south, the road that was block off before by the Police is now open, head east and at the first open door go north into another house to pick up the Manasaku Sake, next doorway head south through the house to the outside and pick up the Ox Bezoar, go back out and continue east past the doorway. On the next screen you'll find Tatsumi on the docks after the amusing scene you have to chase Tatsumi again, so head back the way you came and talk to the old woman in the green kimono for a scene, follow Tatsumi when you are in control again. When you enter the door you'll get some scenes pick whatever choice you want and then you have to chase him for the last time, whew he sure likes running. Head north for a scene and follow the road right next to you, follow him up the path and climb the ladder at the end, head south along the rooftops until you get another scene, finally we cornered him, when presented with a choice pick the first one, after some more scenes you end up in an illusion called Fukorutsubo. ============================================ Fukurutsubo ============================================ Items: Anti Mind, Life Stone Valuables: None Enemies: Obayrion, Onmoraki, Pixie, Poltergeist, Preta, Slime Boss: Soldier Bug Jiromaru ============================================ This place is a small maze, depending on which way you enter the next screen, corridors will be blocked off or open. I'll give you directions to get out of here as quickly as possible while collecting all the items. Use the Dragon Cave right in front of you, from here head northwest, then head east, on the next screen head north to find Nakisawame, use if you want then head south, go east to get a Life Stone, from here head west and go south towards the beginning again. Go northwest, east, north, north, west, west to get an Anti-Mind, from here head east then north and use the Dragon Cave. Before moving on try to get Raidou to Level 12 and fuse Ukobach (Agathion + Obariyon) in the Gouma Den, he has Maragi which has a longer stun period, than Agi. Head north and watch the scenes and you'll be in a boss battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Soldier Bug Jiromaru (Yellow) ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Fire |Hopper Kick Strong: Phys |Scratch |Tackle ================================ Exp: 70 Loyalty: None Yen: 400 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 14 Pixie Lvl 9 Ukobach Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: All of Jiromaru's attacks have a chance of stunning Raidou or his demons, however they are easy to dodge so you don't need to worry about that too much. Before you start the battle make sure Ukobach has Maragi on Auto Repeat and Pixie has Dia on Auto Repeat. As soon as the battle starts use War Cry (if it was inherited when you fused Ukobach in Gouma-Den) this will help do more damage to Jiromaru and then use Fire Slash. On each subsequent turn just let Ukobach use Maragi on him because it will do more damage than Fire Slash (level 14 is when Fire Slash is learned by the way) and actually has a higher chance to stun Jiromaru. Pixie will heal Raidou or his demons when they get too low on health. At around 25% health Jiromaru will run away and the battle will end. ================================ After some more scenes you'll be back in Mannen-Cho, shortly afterwards you'll find yourself in a battle against a Fiend. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Binbou-Gami ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: ??? |Rush Strong: ??? |Mabufu Null: ??? |Money Rain Drain: ??? |Pulinpa ================================ Exp: None Loyalty: None Yen: None Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 14 Pixie Lvl 9 Ukobach Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: You can't hit him with anything at all so just dodge his attacks or let him kill you off, either way the battle will end after a little while. ================================ Watch some more scenes and you'll find yourself automatically back at the Narumi Detective Agency. ============================================ Narumi Detective Agency ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch the scenes, when presented with a choice pick the first option, when another choice is presented pick the first option again. You'll have an Investigational Meeting choices to pick are as follows: 3rd choice, 1st choice, once it's done the destination has been decided so let's head there now. Exit Tsukudo-Cho and take the street car to Kasumidai, go to the southern dot and enter. ============================================ Narita Residence ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ When you enter take a few steps forward and the butler will ask you if you have an appointment, choose "I am here to speak with Akane" when presented with an option choose the second option. Afterwards speak with Akane again, when finished leave and head back to the Narumi Detective Agency. ============================================ Tsukudo-Cho ============================================ Items: None Valuables: Croquette Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ When you approach the entrance to the Agency a scene will play and you'll be given Valuable: Croquette, when presented with a choice pick whatever you want. When in control again enter the Agency and watch the scenes, we now have to head to Shin Sekai the soda joint, leave and take the street car to Ginza-Cho, once there speak with the officer then head north to the other dot and enter. ============================================ Shin-Sekai Soda Joint ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ When you enter here you may talk to everyone there if you like, but definitely be sure to talk to the owner because he has Case Files to open up for you. Throughout the game visit him occasionally to receive more Case Files. To advance the story speak with Tae, when you ask her about being spirited away you'll be presented with a choice, pick the second option, afterwards leave. You'll get another scene with the foreigner, we now need to head to the Dark Realm but before we do let's go check out those Case Files. ============================================ Case Files ============================================ The following Case Files are now available: Case File 1-1: Stocking Up (1) Case File 1-3: Kagami Hell Case File 1-4: Low On Stock (1) Case File 1-6: Demons For Science (1) Case File 1-8: Ghost Driver ============================================ Case File 1-8: Ghost Driver ============================================ Head into Dark Tsukudo-Cho and head back to where the northern exit portal was, when you approach you're in a battle with a familiar demon. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Oboroguruma ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Zan |Rush Null: Elec/Death |Mazio ================================ Exp: 100 Loyalty: 9 Yen: 800 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 15 Moh Shuvuu Lvl 14 Nezha Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: You have three minutes to defeat Rumored Oboroguruma which is more than enough time, make sure to have one Demon with Force skills as Rumored Oboroguruma is Frail to it, and the other Demon should have a decent physical skill. When the battle starts have your Demon with the Force skill use it and hope it stuns Oboroguruma, if not hopefully you have it set to Auto Repeat and they'll just try again, when it does finally stun him have the other Demon use their Physical skill while Raidou attacks with his sword. Just keep on using Force skills and attacking with Raidou and his other demon and he'll go down fairly quickly. ================================ After you defeat Rumored Oboroguruma go ahead and take that northern portal again. End of Case File ============================================ Now with all the Case Files complete at the moment, it's time to continue our investigation, head to the Nameless Shrine again and enter Dark Mannen-Cho. ============================================ Dark Mannen-Cho ============================================ Items: Anti Mind, Asuka Mirror, Jin Dan, Medicine, Turquoise Valuables: Insect Cage Enemies: Agathion, Angel, Enku, Koropokkur, Nezha, Obariyon, Onmoraki, Poltergeist, Sandman, Slime Boss: Binbou-Gami, Enku Form, Nezha, Preta Form ============================================ If you happen to encounter an Enku, try to negotiate with him because doing so opens up a Case File at the Narumi Detective Agency, which will do later. You'll start at the docks, use the Dragon Cave and then continue west, after some scenes you will be in a "Boss Battle." BOSS BATTLE ================================ Preta Form x3 ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec/Fire |Bufu Weak: Force |Makajam Null: Ice/Death | ================================ Exp: 45 Loyalty: 27 Yen: 105 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 15 Moh Shuvuu Lvl 14 Nezha Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: You can't really call this a boss battle, they don't have any special attacks and aren't particularly strong, just use Elec and Fire Skills to take these jokers down. ================================ After some more scenes continue west ignoring the doors until you get to the one with a man standing inside, talk to him if you want otherwise just continue past him into the next room to find Jin Dan, leave. Keep going west then head north for a scene, you'll be in another battle after. ================================ Preta Form x3 ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec/Fire |Bufu Weak: Force |Makajam Null: Ice/Death | ================================ Exp: 97 Loyalty: 40 Yen: 225 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 15 Angel Lvl 8 Nezha Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: Same as the last battle, they are a little bit tougher though. ================================ After the battle head east and use any Wind Order Demon's Investigative skill and use the Wind Current, when you arrive in the next area talk with the man if you want otherwise exit the house and go east, use the Dragon Cave you pass by if want then continue on. When you are back outside go across and enter the house to find a Medicine exit then head west and you will be in yet another battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Enku Form x2 ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Ice/Force |Strike Null: Death |Agi Drain: Fire | ================================ Preta Form x2 ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec/Fire |Strike Weak: Force |Bufu Null: Ice/Death |Makajam ================================ Nezha ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Death |Strike Weak: Elec/Ice |Frenzy Strong: Phys | ================================ Exp: 114 Loyalty: 36 Yen: 225 Items: Ox Bezoar ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 15 Angel Lvl 9 Nezha Lvl 15 Tam Lin Lvl 10 ================================ Strategy: When the battle first starts you will face an Enku Form and two Preta Form, exploit their weaknesses to finish them off quickly. After they are defeated another Enku Form shows up a long with a Nezha, at this point switch out one of your demons for a demon with an Ice Skill, Elec Skill, or if you have one, a Death Skill. Attack the Nezha first then go after the Enku form, watch out for Nezha's Frenzy skill and keep an eye on Raidou and his demons' HP. Not terribly hard to win. ================================ After the battle continue following the path as before and then take the same path you took when you were chasing Tatsumi in Mannen-Cho follow it until you see another Wind Current, don't take the Wind Current yet, instead go south as far as you can and get the Anti-Mind then head back to the Wind Current and use it. When you arrive at this screen climb up the ladder and go south to where the masked men sent Raidou to the Fukurutsubo and claim the Turquoise, now head back. Go south and ignore the alley that goes west halfway down because all you'll find there is Moh Shuvuu and another Wind Current that sends you back to the docks, keep heading south and you'll find that you are blocked by a rock wall (the Poltergeist nearby mentions this,) summon a Fury Order Demon and use their Investigative skill, further down the path near the Dragon Cave that maid will be there again, she'll stop Raidou and tell him that Dr. Victor has created a new process called Sword Alchemy, I won't go into detail here so pleas refer to my Sword Alchemy section for more information. Save your game at the Dragon Cave and continue following the path, eventually you'll run into another Preta Form, watch the scenes and you'll lose the Valuable: Croquette, when presented with a choice pick the firs one, afterwards continue on down the path and use the Wind Current at the end. In this area just follow the path to the end and get the Asuka Mirror from the crystal, climb up the ladder and head south along the rooftops, you can talk to Nakisawame, when all healed up save at the Dragon Cave. Now before we head north and approach Tatsumi there are a few more Case Files to be completed now, so leave Dark Mannen-Cho. ============================================ Case Files ============================================ Case File 1-9: Stare from the Crack Case File 2-2: Missing Tiles Case File 2-5: Selling Umbrellas ============================================ Case File 2-5: Selling Umbrellas ============================================ To open up Case 2-5 you need to talk to the Haguro-Gumi standing guard on the left side outside the Daikoku-Yu Storefront. ============================================ Case File 1-9: Stare from the Crack ============================================ This Case File opens up after you complete Case File 2-5 (I think) and have spoken to the Herald of Yatagarasu at the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda. Go to Fukugawa-Cho and head towards where the Showroom in the 6th Ward is located, once there check the right side of the building and you'll find the lattice door mentioned, examine it and Makami will reveal itself, when presented with a choice pick the first one, afterwards you'll be in battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Makami x15 ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Force |Strike Null: Fire/Elec |Mazio ================================ Exp: 300 Loyalty: 36 Yen: 1200 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 21 Lilim Lvl 19 Archangel Lvl 20 ================================ Strategy: Use any Force skills you have to take them out without too much trouble, have Dia set on Auto Repeat just in case something happens. Whenever you defeat one another one replaces it, I believe they keep on replacing each other until you reach fifteen, but I am not positive (confirmation anyone?) The only skill they will use is Mazio which does decent damage if you aren't careful. Keep hitting them with Force skills watching your HP while evading their Mazio and eventually they will all be defeated ending the battle. ================================ -Alignment Choice- "We can transcend nature itself." "Humans and demons need to live in harmony." ================================ Case File 2-2: Missing Tiles ================================ This one opens up when you complete Case File 1-9. If you've been following my FAQ you should have all the tiles you need, to be sure here is a list: Four Wind Tiles: Found in Tsukudo-Cho hidden on the right side of the path leading to the dead end alley where you found the Anti-Mind x2. Scoring Sticks: Found in Fukugawa-Cho's 6th Ward hidden behind the banners on the western side. Number Tiles: Found in Mannen-Cho in the Abandoned Temple by the closest eastern lamp. Dragon Tiles: Received after defeating Rumored Makami in Case File 1-9. End of Case File ================================ Now it's time to continue on with the main game, head all the way back to the last Dragon Cave in Dark Mannen-Cho, head north and approach Tatsumi. Watch the scenes and you'll be in another battle with Binbou-Gami. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Binbou-Gami ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Fire |Rush Strong: ??? |Mabufu Null: ??? |Money Rain Drain: ??? |Pulinpa ================================ Exp: 810 Loyalty: 10 Yen: 1 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 21 Lilim Lvl 19 Pyro Jack Lvl 19 ================================ Strategy: This battle is your chance to get revenge on him for utterly destroying Raidou and Company earlier, he's frail to Fire so make sure to have a demon that can exploit that as much as possible with skills like Fire Slash, Fire Bullet, Agi, and Agirati, Maragi is hard to hit him with because he teleports around a lot so don't bother wasting MAG on for it. Make sure to have a demon with Dia and set it to Auto Repeat. In the first part of the battle he'll only use Rush attacks, when you get him to around 75% health he'll add in Mabufu, at 50% he'll start using Money Rain, keep your demons hidden through the duration of this attack. Now to avoid his Money Rain look for shadows on the ground and stay away from those and you'll be fine, on the second portion of his skill just either block or roll out of the way, on the final portion of the skill stay in the center of the screen. At 25% he'll add Pulinpa which can be annoying if you aren't careful because sometimes he'll use that and Panic somebody like Raidou and then immediately after use Money Rain. Just keep on hammering away at him with Fire skills and keep Raidou's and his demons' HP up. Eventually he will go down. ================================ After the battle watch the amusing scene (Masochist anyone?) and you'll automatically be back in Mannen-Cho. Watch some more scenes and then talk to Tatsumi, select the second choice to advance, on the next choice it doesn't really matter, afterwards a third choice will be added pick it, now show him the Photo of Dahn and pick whatever choice you want and watch the scene. You'll automatically be taken back to the Narumi Detective Agency. ============================================ Narumi Detective Agency ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch the scenes here and you'll have another investigational meeting, just pick the 3rd choice when given the option. More scenes will play and it's the end of Chapter 1, save your game if you want and then continue. Chapter 1 Complete. ============================================ CHAPTER 2: ASSASSIN'S BLOODLINE [CHAP2] ============================================ ============================================ Tsukigata Village Bus Stop ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch the scenes and talk with Tae and Narumi if you want then leave. On the world map the woman mentions something interesting, anyways head up to the Resort Environs. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: None Valuables: Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Did you notice the mask on the pole at the entrance? It looks familiar doesn't it? Anyways, head up the stairs and talk to Narumi if you like then continue on, we'll go looking for items later. There's a Peddler on the left side, speak with him if you are low on items. Continue up the stairs and speak with Tae, when she asks who she is say Asakura Kichou, and she'll tell you where the Fukuroku Inn is located so head there and talk with the staff woman in front. -Alignment Choice- Did you think the mask looked like a delicious Watermelon? "A little bit." "No, I didn't." After some more scenes Gouto's notebook is updated. ============================================ Fukuroku Inn ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ The next morning it's time to do some exploring of the Resort Environs so leave the inn. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: Anti-Mind, Anti-Poison, Foxtail, Mansaku Sake, Ox Bezoar Valuables: Tsukigata Photo Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ The entrance to the Shirahige Hot Springs is right next to the front of the inn, keep it mind for later. From the Fukuroku Inn take the eastern path, it's slightly hidden but you can tell it's there by the pole on the edge of the screen and head south down the path to a dead end with a Twig, go back to the entrance of the inn and head south again, check next to the kid standing here for an Ox Bezoar, from here keep heading south down the stairs and follow the path to a dead end and collect the Mansaku Sake in the corner, back track to where Tae was the day before, head south from here and then west down the path with the fence into another area. Here go down the stairs and then check behind the man standing here for a hidden Foxtail, head back up and go north to the dead end and pick up the Anti-Poison, now back track and head all the way north to the Fire Tower and go west, once you pass the old woman here head left to a small dead end and pick up the Anti-Mind. That's it for items in this area, take the eastern exit out of the Resort Environs and follow the path on the world map ignoring the man and enter the Residential Area. ============================================ Residential Area ============================================ Items: Takumi Sake Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ In this area head north past Narumi and Tae and exit back to the world map, at this short little section pick up the Takumi Sake and go back into the Residential Area, we're just going to ignore the exit to the right of Tae for now, head back to the Resort Environs. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: Anti-Mind, Anti-Poison, Foxtail, Mansaku Sake, Ox Bezoar Valuables: Tsukigata Photo Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Now that all the items are out of the way let's continue on with the investigation also be sure to have a Pagan Demon summoned because the only way Raidou is going to be able to get any useful information is having the Pagan Demon use Mind Read. Here's a list of people who you'll want to speak with to gain some interesting bit of information, the only people who you really need to talk to however are the two little girls standing next to Tae: Almond-eyed Woman: She's standing next to the path with the fence. Energetic Villager: Go down the path with the fence, he's the guy standing in the corner when you first get to the next screen. Tutting Elderly Lady: She's the woman to the north of the Energetic Villager. Squinting Elderly Lady: Standing in the short dead end where you found the Anti-Mind. The two little girls: They are standing next to Tae, choose to speak with the Girl with Tied Hair and then pick the first option, Gouto's notebook gets updated after. Now to actually advance with the investigation go north past Narumi and the Fire Tower and speak with the man standing next to the stairs, choose to read his mind then speak with him again and choose the new option which shows up, afterwards you have to read his mind again after some short scenes you'll finally be able to pass. Head north on the World Map and enter the Tento Woods. ============================================ Tento Woods ============================================ Items: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Bead x3, Ox Bezoar, Pagan Bronze, Repulse Water, Turquoise Valuables: None Enemies: Angel, Jack Frost, Moh Shuvuu, Makami, Mokoi, Nezha, Onmoraki, Orthrus, Pixie, Poltergeist, Selket, Slime, Turdak, Ukobach Boss: None ============================================ If you an encounter an Orthrus here be sure to negotiate because in doing so he will open up a Case File. Head north for a scene, afterwards just continue north, head right and use the Wind Current to collect a Bead go back and continue north, use the Dragon Cave if you want and keep going north, try to leave for a scene, when presented with a choice pick the first option, speak with the Jubokko and pick whichever option you want and then grab the item behind for an Ox Bezoar, head south. In this section surrounded by dark winds you'll keep on slipping on a Banana peels and lose yen. Head south, on the next screen open up the crystal for an Amethyst, head south if you speak with the Obariyon here he'll tell you about the Dark Zones. Keep heading south on the path, when you get to where there's a split ignore the southern path for just a second, to the west an Ice Rock Wall blocks the path summon Pyro Order Demon and use Ignite to melt it, we'll come back here at a later time, go south. Keep heading east here following the path, you will run into a Wall of Flaming Rock summon a Frost Order Demon and use Cool Down to remove it, behind it you will find a Wind Current, west of here is a Dragon Cave. Save and then use the Wind Current. This section of Tento Woods is basically a maze of Wind Currents, using each one will bring you to a different area with more Wind Currents, fairly straight forward but I will tell you how to get all the items here. You'll land in what I'll now call the starting point. Item 1 and 2: Go East, West, East and open up the crystal for a Repulse Water, now use the west current and open up the crystal for a Bead, take the Wind Current back to the beginning. Item 3 and 4: Go East, West, West open up the two crystals for a Turquoise and Aquamarine, go back to the starting point via the Wind Current. Item 5 and 6: Go West, West open up the crystal for a Kagura Flute, East, West open the crystal for another Bead, go back to the starting point. Item 7: Go West, East, East and open up the final crystal in this area for a Pagan Bronze. Now head back to the starting point and use the south Wind Current to be taken back to the previous area. We're done with exploring for items in this section so head back the way you came go south at the first split to get back to the screen you were initially on before the High Pixie teleported you away, keep on following the path until you get another scene with the High Pixie. Dang it, she did it again, you're now back where the Dragon Cave and Wind Current were, just go back and this time head for another scene, when presented with a choice pick whatever option you want, leave and head north to enter Tsukigata Mansion. ============================================ Tsukigata Mansion ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch the scenes here when in control move forward (literally,) watch some more scenes, summon a Pagan Order Demon if don't already have one out and read her mind, afterwards show her Dahn's Photo, some more scenes, speak with her again and a third option has shown up, choose it and watch some more scenes. We're done here so head back to the Resort Environs. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: Anti-Mind, Anti-Poison, Foxtail, Mansaku Sake, Ox Bezoar Valuables: Tsukigata Photo Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ If you haven't gotten the photo already now is your last chance to get the Valuable: Tsukigata Photo, to do this go to the Fire Tower and examine it to climb up, you will automatically receive the Photo. Head back to the inn speak with the lady in front and then enter the Shirahige Hot Springs right next to it, speak with Narumi when you get here. -Alignment Choice- I heard these hot springs are mixed. Doesn't that get your blood pumping? "Definitely." "Of course not." Some more scenes and you will presented with a choice, if you have more to do then choose the first option, if not choose the second one to advance the story, watch the scenes. ============================================ Cell ============================================ Items: Ox Bezoar Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ The next morning Raidou finds himself in a cell, Tae and Narumi are there as well, watch more scenes. When in control leave the cell and examine the sparkle for an Ox Bezoar, then speak with Narumi, pick the first option. ============================================ Tento Woods ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: Soldier Bug Jiromaru (Green) ============================================ Back here again huh? Try to exit anywhere and you find yourself in another Fukurutsubo, watch the scenes. -Alignment Choice- Meaning...you're here to punish us? "Yes." "No." Afterwards some more scenes and you're in a boss battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Soldier Bug Jiromaru (Green) ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Fire |Wing Flap Strong: ??? |Hopper Kick Null: ??? | Drain: ??? | ================================ Exp: None Loyalty: None Yen: None Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 21 Makami Lvl 19 Orthrus Lvl 19 ================================ Strategy: He's frail to fire like the first one, unfortunately when it gets to about 75% health you get paralyzed and then get killed off so you really can't win this battle. ================================ Watch the scenes afterwards. Some more scenes play and you get introduced to Geirin and Nagi, watch some more scenes, awesome now we can go and meet with the Head of Tsukigata Clan. ============================================ Tsukigata Mansion ============================================ Items: None Valuables: Birdlime x3, Insect Cage x3 Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Back at the Tsukigata Mansion some more scenes will play (didn't expect that did you?) When presented with a choice pick the second option. Watch some more scenes (I think Nagi is a bit too detached from emotion) when presented with an option, again pick the second choice. Some more scenes and you are asked to bring Dahn back to Tsukigata Village. -Alignment Choice- Will you agree to this? "Very well." "I refuse." You receive Valuable: Insect Cage x3, Valuable: Birdlime x3. Akijiro will show you a picture of what the Luck Locusts look like. You will presented with a final question of whether or not Raidou needs to go over anything, pick the fourth option to advance the story. Watch some more scenes, heeeyyy, Raidou doesn't have bad luck anymore it wasn't a wasted trip after all. Watch some more scenes. ============================================ Narumi Detective Agency ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ You'll automatically be back at the Narumi Detective Agency, Narumi suggests that an investigational meeting should be held, say you're ready. Choices are as follows: 2nd choice, 1st choice, 2nd choice, with that the meeting is adjourned, exit the Narumi Detective Agency and you'll get a brief scene with an explanation on how your luck stat will fluctuate between Lucky and Unlucky and what Raidou can do to increase his luck, also Konnou-Ya now sells Birdlime. Okay, let's head on over to the Shin- Sekai Soda Joint. ============================================ Shin Sekai Soda Joint ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ When you get here another earthquake occurs, speak with the owner to open up some more Case Files and then speak with the woman here for more information pertaining to Luck and Luck Locusts, also another note if you speak to the man standing next to her he will explain a little bit about weapons. Leave here and head to the Nameless Shrine, speak with the Herald of Yatagarasu to open up another Case File, finally go and speak with Kogure Osamu inside the Gambling Parlor in Mannen-Cho to open up another Case File ============================================ Case Files ============================================ The following Case Files are now available: Case File 2-3: Photog Needed (1) Case File 2-6: Demons for Science (2) Case File 2-7: I'm Collecting Demons Case File 2-9: Fear of Betobeto Case File 3-1: Don't Try This at Home (1) Case File 3-2: The World of Plants (1) (Can't head back to Tento Woods yet, save it for later.) Case File 3-6: Sword Collecting These Case Files Become Available after reading Sadakichi's mind at Kasumidai: Case File 1-2: Collection Warrant (1) Case File 2-1: Biting Spirit ================================ Case File 2-3: Photog Needed (1) ================================ To complete this Case File you need to head over to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda and examine the last bush on the left side of the path, when you do so you will get a message like "This spot would give a good view of the Nameless Shrine" or something like that, just say yes and you receive Valuable: Shrine Photo, read the Case File and hand over the photo. ================================ Case File 2-9: Fear of Betobeto ================================ The Herald of Yatagarasu will open this Case File up, read it and accept the investigation, now head on over to Kasumidai, ignore the man on the map and go to the northern most dot, the sentry will stop Raidou but after a brief explanation he will let Raidou pass, yeah now we can explore Kasumidai. ============================================ Kasumidai ============================================ Items: 32 Gunto, Anti-Poison x2, Anti-Stone, Gouriki Sake, Kagura Flute x2, Lu Incense, Ox Bezoar Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: Rumored Obariyon ============================================ Okay let's take care of the Case File first before we go and do any kind of item hunting, head north then east to the next screen and pick up the Anti-Stone on the way, now head west to the next screen and follow the path to the Army HQ hugging the wall surrounding the plants to find a hidden Ox Bezoar. When you get to the Army HQ head east again, Raidou will hear footsteps behind him which will then initiate the battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Obariyon ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Force/Death |Strike Strong: Phys |Frenzy |War Cry ================================ Exp: 500 Loyalty: 40 Yen: 1840 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 25 Archangel Lvl 20 Jubokko Lvl 23 ================================ Strategy: Okay these guys can be dangerous if you aren't careful, like with the fight against the Rumored Makami when one falls another will replace the fallen foe. Note that these guys are much quicker than anything you've really faced so far. I've noticed that they like to use War Cry to increase their attack and then will all attack one character at the same time. Physical attacks are just about useless against these guys so your only option to take care of them fairly quickly is to use a lot of magic preferably Force or Death skills, also note that I think they can also cause one of your demons to protest so cure them of the status. There are two ways to deal with these guys, have a Demon with Mazan or Zanrati (Mazan is more preferable however) and have them keep on spamming it, which in turn will stun the Obariyons or use Pagan Sword (Lilim has Pagan Sword if you're curious) and just attack them with Raidou's special move while they are stunned. My recommendation is to have a Demon like say Archangel use his Mazan skill and cast Pagan Sword on Raidou with Lilim and then have her switch to a Force skill while Raidou attacks, or you can instead have two demons with Force skills attacking. Either way you choose you'll eventually defeat them all, just be careful though because their physical attacks will hurt so keep an eye on HP throughout the battle. ================================ After the battle you receive the 32 Gunto. Now with the Case File out of the way let's explore some more of Kasumidai, from your current position head north, on the next screen head east and pick up the Kagura Flute in front of the trees. Head all the way south to get back on the world map and claim another Kagura Flute and Anti-Poison x2, go back into Kasumidai, head back towards the Army HQ and go west from there following the path to and pick up Gouriki Sake at the end. Head back down to where you found the Ox Bezoar and head west follow the path past the cannon and head north towards the Diet Building, head west from here taking the furthest stairs away and on the next screen examine the blue sparkle for a Lu Incense, which should cover all the items in Kasumidai. Now there is still a couple things to do here before we leave, first let's head back to the entrance of Kasumidai and speak with the officer in front of the Colonel Adachi Statue, hey it's an old friend Sadakichi, speak with him and then when he's done read his mind afterwards, he'll now start giving you Case Files, now head back to the other exit of Kasumidai and speak with the officer next to the car he'll say you must be Kuzunoha Raidou the 14th, say yes, oh look he's a Devil Summoner too, he'll introduce himself as Tsunatsugu Watanabe and ask Raidou to take some Cases on Sadakichi's behalf. You can read his mind but it doesn't really do a lot. This is it for Kasumidai now let's leave. ================================ Case File 1-10: Cursed House ================================ Head back to Mannen-Cho after accepting the Case File and speak with Kogure there again to gain further details. When he's done talking go back to the house where you found the Frost Steel on an earlier visit and speak with the man currently residing in the house, he'll mention the chicken outside is loud. Now first thing that needs to be done is to go back outside and summon a Volt Demon using Inspect around the house (if you really don't want to keep on using it then go to the front door and use it there.) upon doing so a sparkle will show up so have Raidou examine it, the sparkle turns out to be a footprint of a demon. Now, you know the Chicken that has been mentioned a couple of times? Well summon a Frost Order Demon and use Cool Down on it, voila you've found your Demon a battle will ensue obviously. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Basilisk ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec |Strike |Glacial Blast |Petra |Venom Strike ================================ Exp: 600 Loyalty: 11 Yen: 1830 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 25 Jubokko Lvl 23 Makami Lvl 15 ================================ Strategy: The Basilisk can be problematic if you aren't paying attention, he is able to cause both Poison and Stone on Raidou and his demons, if he does inflict either status cure it right away, hell be prepared to dodge quickly because you can't afford to get hit by any of his attacks especially by Petra. Basilisk is Frail to Elec attacks so have demons that know Mazio or Ziorati and have those skills set to Auto Repeat. Now when the battle first starts wait a couple of seconds and make sure your demons can't do anything, Basilisk will do one of two things, he'll either attack you and your demons or just walk towards you, you want the latter to happen if the former does then dodge the attack. Whatever he does when he's finished have both your demons attack with the Elec skills to stun him and unleash a special attack on him or just attack him. With the medium stun length Raidou should be able to get in one or two full attacks. After he recovers be prepared to either defend or dodge his counter attack. Just repeat the steps of dodging/defending and hitting him with Elec skills and you will defeat him, just be very wary of his attacks as they all range from dangerous to lethal. ================================ After the battle he'll ask you to forgive him and summon two Item Crystals a Red and Blue one, the Red (Heavy Treasure Box) one has a Beetle and Large Stag Beetle, the Blue (Light Treasure Box) one only has Yen in it. The former of the two is the better choice, why? Well, you'll find out later. End of Case File ================================ Now let us continue on with the main game, let's head back over to Kasumidai, once there speak with the man on the World Map and find out something strange is going on at the Narita Residence. ============================================ Narita Residence ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Enter the Narita Residence and watch the scenes, when in control again speak with the officer on the right, and read the minds of the Butler and the officer on the left if you want, proceed north and examine the door. ============================================ Fukurutsubo ============================================ Items: Attract Water, Balm of Life, Kagura Flute, Ox Bezoar Valuables: None Enemies: Azumi, Archangel, Blob, Jack Frost, Koropokkur, Gozuki, Lamia, Luck Locust, Makami, Mezuki, Moh Shuvuu, Obariyon, Pixie, Pyro Jack, Selket, Slime Boss: Soldier Bug Jiromaru (Green), ============================================ You will now start encountering Luck Locusts, to capture these Luck Locusts use a bird lime during battle. Sometimes at the beginning of the battle a type of Roulette will appear, it can either have all Positive effects or all Negative effects which provide some sort of penalty or bonus. Also if you encounter a Pyro Pyro Jack make sure to negotiate with him twice because it opens up two Case Files. You can escape back to the Narita Manor by examining the tear in the air, anyways move northeast towards the Dragon Cave save. Head west from the Dragon Cave, south, and then north to encounter the Masked Men again, you'll be able to have a rematch against the Jiromaru that killed you off the first time. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Soldier Bug Jiromaru (Green) ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Fire |Hopper Kick Strong: ??? |Over Drive Null: ??? |Sonic Wave Drain: ??? |Wing Flap ================================ Exp: 700 Loyalty: 100 Yen: 1200 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 27 Orthrus Lvl 23 Pyro Jack Lvl 20 ================================ Strategy: This time you don't have to worry about that miserable paralyzing agent, that aside this guy can still be dangerous, he's still frail to Fire so exploit that. Jiromaru still has the same attacks as before but at around 50% health he'll use an attack called Sonic Wave, at around 25% he'll start using an attack call Over Drive. Whenever you see Jiromaru charge up and get a message saying he is preparing for something guard because he will use Sonic Wave, if you just see him charging up with no message he'll use Over Drive which you can dodge or defend against. Just keep on using Fire skills like Agirati or if you really want Fire Slash and this oversized bug will go down in no time, keep an eye on HP because his attacks tend to hurt. ================================ With that taken care of we can now go ahead and explore for items, from where Raidou fought Jiromaru head north then east, on this screen head north and you will find Nakisawame, heal up if you need to, from here head east then south until you get to a Blue crystal, open it up for a Kagura Flute. Go back to the path in the north where you first entered this screen and head west back to Nakisawame and continue west to the next screen then north, follow it all the way and collect the Ox Bezoar in the dead end and then head east. On this screen there is a Dragon Cave to the north that we can't get to yet, so head east and then collect the two Item Crystals for a Balm of Life and Attract Water head south to be teleported and then retrace your steps back to the screen with the Dragon Cave to the north. When you are back on this screen head south back down to the screen with Nakisawame and then head north again which will open up the northern path and save your game, continue north when you are ready to find the Masked Men again. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Fukoshi Black Mask ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Ice |Disturbance |Sneak Attack ================================ Exp: 900 Loyalty: 16 Yen: 1500 Items: Insect Cage x2 ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 33 Alraune Lvl 29 Kusi Mitama Lvl 30 ================================ Strategy: For a boss these guys really aren't all that difficult, they are both frail to Ice so bring in a couple of demons that have Ice Skills, Glacial Blast will really do a number on them, when the battle begin and I ordered both my Demons to use Glacial Blast it brought them down to 50% health! If you don't have Glacial Blast then Mabufu will suffice. You have to defeat each one individually to win this battle so they each have a health bar. They have only one dangerous attack but it's easily recognized thus easily dodged. When they start teleporting around a lot they are going to use Sneak Attack which means they basically try teleport behind Raidou or his demons and then use Disturbance after. Wait to use Glacial Blast or any skill when they start doing that because it'll be hard to hit them. The other attack is called Disturbance which is very similar to Raidou's sword special except it completely surrounds them, you'll know they are going to use if you see them charging up with an orange/red circle around. Avoid those attacks and just keep on using Ice Skills and they will go down with no problem. ================================ After the battle watch the scenes and you'll be teleported back to the Narita Residence, before we go ahead and face off against the next boss we're going to take a break and do some extra stuff, there's the two Case Files we got from Pyro Pyro Jack that need to be completed and we shall go ahead and do some more exploration of the Capital. ============================================ Case Files ============================================ The following Case Files are available: Case File 2-4: Bug Collector (1) Case File 3-7: Long-Distance Dating End of Case File ============================================ ============================================ Capital Exploration ============================================ Items: Antoine's Fur, Emerald, Rakuyou Chalice, Repulse Water, St Incense, Twig, Wood Ornament, Yamiyo Sake Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ First thing we shall do as we're exploring the Capital is to head over to Fukugawa-Cho. ============================================ Fukugawa-Cho ============================================ Once here head on over to the Empty Lot by the canal and have Raidou's Demon go on a Solo exploration and examine the dog (whose name is apparently Antoine) to obtain some fur, transform into Antoine and examine the small hole to the right to obtain an Emerald we're done here so let's now go to Mannen-Cho. ============================================ Mannen-Cho ============================================ Remember all those wells dotted around here? Let's go ahead and get those out of the way. We'll start with the well in the backyard of the southern house by the docks where you met a Pyro Onmoraki way back in Chapter 1 to obtain St Incense, next we'll hit up the well where Kogure Osamu's son is standing to obtain a Twig, the next well is on the western side in a little alley near the Abandoned Temple, that one contains a Wood Ornament. That should be all the wells in Mannen-Cho. Next thing to do here is to go Queen's Road where Cross Dresser standing across from the room where you chased Tatsumi into and send your Demon on a Solo Investigation, observe the Cross Dresser and pull "her" hair. The last thing to do here is to head over to the door that was jammed, transform into Antoine when you get here to and examine the hole to get inside and obtain Yamiyo Sake, this is it for Mannen-Cho. Make your way over to Kasumidai. ============================================ Kasumidai ============================================ Once you're here head over to the eastern side of Kasumidai and stay on the left side following the bushes down until you get to another small hole, transform into Antoine and go inside to obtain a Rakuyou Chalice, then check the next one to obtain a Repulse Water. That's all for exploration. Once you take care of everything save and then head back to the Narita Residence, enter the door watch the scenes and be prepared for the next boss. -Alignment Choice- I'll pretend I didn't see you... Unless you're here to get in my way. "That's right." "No." BOSS BATTLE ================================ Fukoshi Dahn ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec |Burning Resolve |Demon Hunt |Poison Smash |Tarukaja ================================ Soldier Bug Taromaru ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Ice |Flap Wings Strong: ??? |Hopper Kick Null: ??? |Over Drive Drain: ??? |Sonic Wave ================================ Exp: 1500 Loyalty: 14 Yen: 3500 Items: Insect Cage ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 33 Alraune Lvl 29 Kusi Mitama Lvl 30 ================================ Strategy: This battle technically takes place in three phases, the first phase is against Dahn by himself, the second phase is against Soldier Bug Taromaru, and the last phase is against Dahn again. Be warned that Soldier Bug Taromaru has all the same attacks as Soldier Bug Jiromaru including Sonic Wave. As far as what skills Dahn has are Poison Smash, which can poison Raidou or his demons, and Demon Hunt which is a fairly powerful attack. Like the Fukoshi Black Mask before he can teleport around the battlefield. When the battle starts you want to have Demons with Mazio or Ziorati because Dahn is weak to Elec, basically just have your Demons attack with whichever skill you have and wait for him to get stunned, then go up and attack him with a Special or regular combo. At 50% health Dahn will summon Taromaru. In this portion of the battle switch out Demons who have any Ice skills, unlike Jiromaru, Taromaru is weak to Ice not Fire. Glacial Blast should do significant damage to Taromaru and you should be able to finish this portion of the battle fairly quickly, remember to watch out for his attacks, he'll use Over Drive three times in a row instead of just once so either block or roll out the way, when he uses Hopper Kick moving in one direction only and you should be fine. Finally hide your Demons while Raidou blocks if he charges up to use Sonic Wave. The third and final portion of battle begins when you defeat Taromaru, now Dahn will add another attack to his repertoire called Burning Resolve, the only thing you can do with this one is block because you can't dodge it, you'll know when he's about to use it when you get a message saying he is preparing for something. Keep your eye on HP and heal any status ailment and you should be fine. ================================ After the battle watch some more scenes. -Alignment Choice- Do you believe we could settle the matter of my wedding with a peaceful conversation? "I do." "I don't." More scenes and you can save your game. Chapter 2 Complete. ============================================ CHAPTER 3: THE DEFILED GODS [CHAP3] ============================================ ============================================ Tsukigata Mansion ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ The chapter will begin with some scenes here. Afterwards you'll be back in the Fukuroku Inn. ============================================ Fukuroku Inn ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Watch some more scenes and you'll get a choice here: -Alignment Choice- Wouldn't it better for him to just kill the groom? No muss, no fuss? "It would..." "I don't think so." After some more scenes Narumi will give Raidou a new assignment: to investigate Lord Tento afterwards Gouto will enter in the notebook King Abaddon and Lord Tento, when you gain control of Raidou head into the village. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Let's start by asking everybody about Lord Tento the villagers will actually speak with Raidou (for the most part.) When you get to the main part of the village you'll find Asakura Kichou here, speak with her and she'll mention Centipede Road, two screens down you'll find Narumi here, he'll say that they'll have to go to Centipede Road to get the answer they're looking for, but before do that let's head back to the Capital. ============================================ Shin-Sekai Soda Joint ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Speak with the owner here to open up some Case Files then talk with the Blonde young man, he'll ask you to stop by the Catholic Church, we're done here leave. Next stop is going to be Fukugawa-Cho. ============================================ Fukugawa-Cho ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Go into the Daikoku-Yu and speak with Satake, he'll send a Case File over to the Agency, head on over to Mannen-Cho now. ============================================ Fukugawa-Cho ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Speak with the Cross dresser standing across from the room where you had to chase Tatsumi into and he'll send a Case File to the Agency, when done head over to Kasumidai. ============================================ Kasumidai ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Use Mind Read on Sadakichi, he'll forward a Case File to the Agency, next head on over to where Watanabe is and he'll mention something about a curse which in turn opens up another Case File, head to Shinoda now. ============================================ Nameless Shrine ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Speak with the Herald of Yatagarasu with that done this should open up all of the current Case Files you can do though there is one more you can open up after you complete Case File 2-8. Now let's go ahead and actually do them. ============================================ Case Files ============================================ The following Case Files are now available: Case File 2-8: It Came From The Sewer! Case File 2-10: The Curse Reborn Case File 3-3: Manhuntin' (1) (Can't complete until Chapter 4) Case File 3-4: Please, Raidou Hon? Case File 3-2: The World of Plants (1) Case File 3-8: Limits of the Macabre Case File 3-10: Guard Mission Case File 4-1: Looking for Fickle Dew (Can't complete until Chapter 4) Case File 4-2: Photog Needed (2) Case File 4-5: Low on Stock (2) Case File 4-6: Leanan Sidhe in the Sky Case File 5-1: Stocking Up (2) Case File 5-4: Zombie Highlander ============================================ Case File 2-8: It Came From The Sewer! ============================================ After reading the Case File head over to the Ushigome-gaeri Bridge and speak to the man standing by the man hole pick the first choice, then pick the first choice again. -Alignment Choice- A demon living in the sewers... "Poor guy. Let's help him." "Sounds dirty." When that's done he'll say the Tarrasque has probably floated somewhere out west, so let's head back to Tsukigata Village. ============================================ Resort Environs ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Once back here exit out to the east of the Resort Environs, you remember where the eastern exit is right? On the world map you can talk to all the people here and they'll move out of your way, anyways head over to the Residential Area. ============================================ Residential Area ============================================ Items (World Map): Birdlime x3, Wind Silver Valuables: Flute of Rhone Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Once here you'll find three kids go ahead and speak with them, choose to help the Tarrasque, and then choose to bribe the kids, make sure you have three Jin Dan in your inventory. After the scenes Raidou will be given the Valuable: Flute of Rhone, now we have a Large Tarrasque which allows us to move around more freely. Watch some more scenes and you get an alignment choice. -Alignment Choice- Sorry! Sorry! I didn't mean to! "Then heal me." "No hard feelings." Back on the World Map summon Large Tarrasque at the blue dot and head north and get off at the next one examine the sparkles here for a Wind Silver, now head south and follow the river past the first 3 blue dots and get off at the fourth to get a Birdlime x3. Head back to the Capital, now with the Large Tarrasque we can get to the Catholic Church in Harumi-Cho the Young Blonde Man asked us to go to back in the Shin-Sekai Soda Joint, but first let's collect some more items in the Capital World Map. ============================================ Capital World Map ============================================ Items: Bead x2, Bead of Life, Birdlime x3, Diamond, Ma Incense Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Let's start with the west side of the map, summon the Large Tarrasque at the tiny dock in Fukugawa-Cho next to the Ushigome-gaeri Bridge, and follow the water canal all the way into Kasumidai and head east then north to the blue dot to get a Bead of Life, next summon the Large Tarrasque and head back to the blue dot near the entrance of Kasumidai and head south then east getting off at the end, go through the tunnel and at the next blue dot summon Large Tarrasque again and then get off at the dot south of you, follow that path to the end and grab the Ma Incense. Go back to the blue dot and head north to the blue dot on the larger island and pick up Birdlime x3, from here head north again and get off at the next one to get Bead x2, finally head north again and get off the dot north to find yourself on a dock in Fukugawa-Cho and collect the Diamond here. That's all for world map items, now let's head to the Catholic Church in Harumi-Cho. To get there from Raidou's current location head south to the blue dot that's directly across from another item on the southern portion of the large island and enter. ============================================ Harumi-Cho ============================================ Items: None Valuables: None Enemies: None Boss: None ============================================ Once you're here head towards the church and enter, here you will find the Blonde young man, speak with him and he'll send a Case File over to the Agency, now let's continue with the Case Files. ============================================ Case File ============================================ New Case File available: Case File 5-9: The Crown of Victory ============================================ Case File 2-10: The Curse Reborn ============================================ Head to the North Training Hall after acquiring the Large Tarrasque, to get to the North Training Hall you have to go to Fukagawa-Cho and walk all the way north to the blue dot at the end and take the Tarrasque over to the small Island in the middle. ============================================ North Training Hall ============================================ Items: Random Valuables: Enemies: Aeros, Aquans, Erthys, Flaemis, Kuruma, Sylph, Undine, Yoshitsune Boss: Oni, White Rider ============================================ Approach the Oni standing in the north and talk to him, watch the scenes and you'll be in a battle. Boss Battle ================================ Oni ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec/Death |Frenzy |Luck Roulette of the Beast |Mudo |Rush ================================ Exp: 1120 Loyalty: 28 Yen: 2380 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 36 Tsuchigumo Lvl 22 Yoshitsune Lvl 29 ================================ Strategy: Another battle where the fallen enemies get replaced immediately by another one, the Oni is Frail to Elec and Death skills so have Demons who have those types of skills, it would also help to have Demons strong against Phys because the Oni uses a lot of Physical attacks, these guys sometimes use Luck Roulette of the Beast so just keep that in mind. Watch out for their Frenzy and Rush skills. When the battle starts have your Demons use Elec or Death skills and set it to Auto Repeat, the physical attacks of the Oni hurt so keep an eye on your HP throughout the fight if you get low heal. Essentially keep on hitting the Oni with Elec or Death skills, stun them and then attack with a sword special, what you also might want to do is imbue Raidou's sword with either a Elec or Death element which will give you an edge over them, just try to defeat them as quickly as possible while watching HP levels. ================================ After the battle watch some more scenes and find out the curse won't disappear, leave the Training Hall and then let's go talk to Watanabe Tsunatsugu again. Head back over to Kasumidai and speak with him if you want. ============================================ Case File 3-10: Guard Mission ============================================ Head towards the Diet Building, as you approach you'll see a scene with Gouto and then find yourself in a battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Hyakki-Yakou ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Various |Various ================================ Exp: 1000 Loyalty: 36 Yen: 1200 Items: Pyro Steel x5 Frost Steel x5 Medicine x9 ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 33 Demons: Various ================================ Strategy: 100 demons!? That's a bit ridiculous wouldn't you agree? Anyways, this battle technically has four phases to it, the first phase consists mainly of fighting Preta and Enku Demons, not really worth mentioning you do remember what they are weak against right? The second phase consists of fighting Nekomata and Okiku-mushi demons, beware of Marin Karin and Pulinpa switch to demons that are immune to Mind Skills and have Fire and Elec skills. The third phase of the battle is back to fighting Preta and Enku Demons, and the final phase of the battle is against two Gashadokuros whom are tougher than the rest beware of Petra as that is a dangerous move when a demon gets hit with immediately cure the status, switch out to demons who have Force Skills to deal with them. Be sure to keep an eye on your HP because this is going to be a long fight. ================================ ============================================ Case File 5-9: The Crown of Victory ============================================ Head over to the Catholic Church in Harumi-Cho again enter and try walking towards the alter at the front, you will get a message and be thrust into battle. BOSS BATTLE ================================ White Rider ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Ice |Luck Roulette of the Beast Strong: ??? |Mamudo Null: ??? |Mudo Drain: ??? |Rakukaja |Rush |Victory of Fire ================================ Exp: 1666 Loyalty: 7 Yen: 1666 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 36 Alraune Lvl 29 Legion Lvl 26 ================================ Strategy: If you fought him in the North Training Hall then you know what to expect, the only difference between this fight and the one in the North Training Hall is that you have to beat White Rider in 5 Minutes thankfully the timer counts down really slow, isn't that fantastic? Also he seems to be a lot easier to stun this time around. When the battle starts White Rider will use Luck Roulette of the Beast when he's done using that have your two Demons use any Ice Skill they have and let White Rider have it, the whole beginning of the battle will pretty much consist of White Rider using Mamudo which won't be a problem if your Demons can either null or absorb it. At around 50% health he'll start using an attack called Victory of Fire which can't be dodged and really hurts even if you are blocking, make sure you hide your Demons and block when you see the message White Rider is preparing for something, though note that sometimes when you get that message he'll use Luck Roulette of the Beast instead but just hide your Demons and guard as you don't want to get killed because he used Victory of Fire instead Luck Roulette of the Beast. At around 25% health he'll start using Rush which hurts all I can say is dodge or block it. ================================ End of Case File ============================================ ============================================ Training Halls [Raiho90] ============================================ ============================================ North Training Hall ============================================ Items: Random Valuables: Enemies: Aeros, Aquans, Erthys, Flaemis, Kuruma, Sylph, Undine, Yoshitsune Boss: Oni, White Rider ============================================ Before we do anything here make a note that it is possible to encounter White Rider during a New Moon so just be aware of that. The items are found inside the Red Crystals however what you get is solely determined by what type of personality your Summoned Demon has. Open up all the Crystals here and wander around fighting battles until you get a message saying you feel the aura of a terrifying presence in the next battle you will encounter Fiend White Rider. BOSS BATTLE ================================ White Rider ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Ice |Luck Roulette of the Beast Strong: ??? |Mamudo Null: ??? |Mudo Drain: ??? |Rakukaja |Rush |Victory of Fire ================================ Exp: 1666 Loyalty: 7 Yen: 1666 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 34 Alraune Lvl 29 Yoshitsune Lvl 29 ================================ Strategy: You have the choice of either negotiating with him or defeating him, if you decide to go with the latter then make sure to bring in Demons that have Ice Skills and can nullify Death skills because White Rider likes to use Mamudo a lot. The only foreseeable issue is that you might run low on Mag and White Rider doesn't stun very easily so just be wary of that, however if you manage to hit when he comes out of his teleportation you have a higher chance of stunning him so keep that in mind as well. ================================ ============================================ Case Files [Raiho90] ============================================ Case Files are side quests that can be done at any point upon accepting one, they are triggered by talking to certain people, by Demons that request some sort of help when you negotiate with them or by completing other Case Files. I generally recommend doing them either right after or shortly after you get them, in fact some of them are required to do in order to acquire an item to be able to continue with the main story, so as soon as you get one complete it. Also note that some Case Files are repeatable. This section will list all the Case Files you can do in this game, how you activate them, how to complete and what rewards you receive. ============================================ CASE FILE 1 ============================================ ============================================ Case File 1-1: Stocking Up (1) ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin-Sekai Soda Joint when you go to meet Tae. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Just read the case and it will ask you to hand over the item, choose yes. Reward: Ox Bezoar x1 ============================================ Case File 1-2: Collection Warrant (1) ============================================ Activation: Read Sadakichi's mind at Kasumidai Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and it will ask Raidou to hand over Life Stone x10. Reward: Amethyst x1 Other Notes: You can't gain access to Kasumidai until you accept Case File 2-9. ============================================ Case File 1-3: Kagami Hell ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin-Sekai Soda Joint when you go to meet Tae. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and make sure to have Pyro Steel in your inventory. Pyro Steel is obtained by Pyro Order Demons at levels 1-20, you might also receive it as a gift when negotiating with demons you already have with you. Reward: Skill Steel x2 ============================================ Case File 1-4: Low on Stock (1) ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin-Sekai Soda Joint when you go to meet Tae. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and hand over Wood Ornament x2. You can find one Wood Ornament in Fukugawa-Cho, as for the second one it can be gotten as an item drop in battle. Reward: Plastic ============================================ Case File 1-5: Request for Gems (1) ============================================ Activation: Negotiate with a Pyro Enku in a random encounter in Dark Mannen-Cho, he'll ask where a friend of his could get some gems, send him to the Narumi Detective Agency. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and be sure to have an Aquamarine in your inventory. You can receive an Aquamarine as gift when negotiating with Demons, when they level up with a maxed out loyalty, find it in an Item Crystal, or by completing Case File 2-7 when it becomes available. Reward: Frost Steel x5, Other Notes: Pyro Enku joins you when you negotiate with him again provided you don't have him already as a Demon. ============================================ Case File 1-6: Demons for Science (1) ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin-Sekai Soda Joint when you go to meet Tae. Repeatable: No Completion: Fuse or capture a Pagan Lilim and read the Case File to hand her over, you need to be at least level 19 to complete this. Reward: Used Camera x1 Other Notes: You need this item for future Case Files. ============================================ Case File 1-7: Lab Rats ============================================ Activation: Speak with the maid (actually an Ippon-Datara) on the Kamishiro-zaka, she will ask where the Narumi Detective Agency is, tell her to open this Case File. Repeatable: No Completion: Go into Dark Tsukudo-Cho and meet Dr. Victor at the Dragon Cave directly north of where you enter. Reward: Smoke Salmon x1 Other Notes: You need this item to continue on with the main story. Dr. Victor will also hand over the Tesseract Box which allows you to teleport to Gouma-Den from any Dragon Cave. ============================================ Case File 1-8: Ghost Driver ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin-Sekai Soda Joint when you go to meet Tae. Repeatable: No Completion: Go into Dark Tsukudo-Cho and fight him, once you defeat him the Case File is completed. Reward: Rusted Screw x1 BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Oboroguruma ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Zan |Rush Null: Elec/Death |Mazio ================================ Exp: 100 Loyalty: 9 Yen: 800 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 15 Moh Shuvuu Lvl 14 Nezha Lvl 14 ================================ Strategy: You have three minutes to defeat Rumored Oboroguruma which is more than enough time, make sure to have one Demon with Force skills as Rumored Oboroguruma is Frail to it, and the other Demon should have a decent physical skill. ================================ ============================================ Case File 1-9: Stare from the Cracks ============================================ Activation: Speak with the Herald of Yatagarasu at the Nameless Shrine, I believe Case File 2-5 needs to also have been completed (confirmation?) Repeatable: No Completion: Go to Fukugawa-Cho and head towards the Showroom in the 6th Ward, check the right side to find the lattice door, examine it to reveal a Makami, defeat him and the Case File is completed. Reward: Dragon Tile Other Notes: This item is part of a Case File you open up after completing this one. BOSS BATTLE ================================ Rumored Makami ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Force |Strike Null: Fire/Elec |Mazio ================================ Exp: 300 Loyalty: 36 Yen: 1200 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 21 Lilim Lvl 19 Archangel Lvl 20 ================================ Strategy: Use any Force skills you have to take them out without too much trouble, have Dia set on Auto Repeat just in case something happens. ================================ ============================================ Case File 1-10: Cursed House ============================================ Activation: Speak with Kogure Osamu at the Gambling Parlor in Mannen-Cho. Repeatable: No Completion: Defeat the Rumored Basilisk. Reward: Wind Bronze x2 Other Notes: When the Basilisk gives you a choice between two different colored Item Crystals go with the Red Crystal (Heavy Treasure Box) because that one contains two items you'll need for another Case File later on. ================================ ============================================ CASE FILE 2 ============================================ ============================================ Case File 2-1: Biting Spirit ============================================ Activation: Read Sadakichi's mind at Kasumidai Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and it will ask Raidou to hand over Life an Ox Bezoar x1. Reward: 1000 Yen Other Notes: You can't gain access to Kasumidai until you accept Case File 2-9. ================================ Case File 2-2: Missing Tiles ================================ Activation: Defeat Makami in Case File 1-9. Repeatable: No Completion: Find all four sets of Mahjong Tiles and hand them over. Four Wind Tiles: Found in Tsukudo-Cho hidden on the right side of the path leading to the dead end alley where you found the Anti-Mind x2. Reward: Japanese Version: 100 Yen and you are able to play Mahjong. US Version: 10,000 Yen. ================================ Case File 2-3: Photog Needed (1) ================================ Activation: Speak with the owner at Shin Sekai Soda Joint. Repeatable: No Completion: Read the Case File and then head over to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda, examine the bush on the left side of the path and take a photograph, then head back to the Detective Agency and read the Case File again. Reward: Tae Sticker x1 Other Notes: You needed to have gotten the Camera from Case File 1-6. ================================ Case File 2-4: Bug Collector (1) ================================ Activation: Speak with Pyro Pyro Jack in the Fukurutsubo inside the Narita Residence. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and hand over a Beetle, you should have one in your inventory if you picked the Red Crystal (Heavy Treasure Box) at the end of Case File 1-10. Reward: Turquoise x3 ============================================ Case File 2-5: Selling Umbrellas ============================================ Activation: Speak with the Haguro-Gumi standing to the left of the bath house and he'll mention someone who sells umbrellas, he'll ask you to buy one. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Read the Case File and buy an umbrella for 2000 Yen. Reward: Shizu's Umbrella ================================ Case File 2-6: Demons for Science (2) ================================ Activation: Speak with the owner at Shin Sekai Soda Joint. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Capture or fuse a Fury Nezha then read the Case File and hand him over. Reward: Opal x2 ================================ Case File 2-7: I'm Collecting Demons ================================ Activation: Speak with the owner at Shin Sekai Soda Joint. Repeatable: Yes Completion: Capture or fuse a Frost Jubokko then read the Case File and hand him over. Reward: Aquamarine x2 ============================================ Case File 2-8: It Came From The Sewer! ============================================ Activation: Speak with the Herald of Yatagarasu during Chapter 3. Repeatable: No Completion: Help the Pagan Mokoi find the Large Tarrasque, it's located in the Residential Area at Tsukigata Village. Reward: Balm of Life Other Notes: You get the Flute of Rhone which allows Raidou to summon the Large Tarrasque at any of the blue dots on the world map. You need the Large Tarrasque to complete Case File 2-10: The Curse Reborn. ================================ Case File 2-9: Fear of Betobeto ================================ Activation: Speak with the Herald of Yatagarasu. Repeatable: No Completion: Head over to Kasumidai and defeat the Rumored Obariyon to complete this Case File. Reward: 32 Gunto Other Notes: This Case File will allow you to access Kasumidai. ================================ ============================================ Case File 2-10: The Curse Reborn ============================================ Activation: Speak with Watanabe Tsunatsugu in Kasumidai. Repeatable: No Completion: Go to the North Training Hall and defeat the Fury Oni there. Reward: Bizen-osafune Boss Battle ================================ Oni ================================ Weakness: |Attacks: Frail: Elec/Death |Frenzy |Luck Roulette of the Beast |Mudo |Rush ================================ Exp: 1120 Loyalty: 28 Yen: 2380 Items: None ================================ Party: Raidou Lvl 36 Tsuchigumo Lvl 22 Yoshitsune Lvl 29 ================================ Strategy: Another battle where the fallen enemies get replaced immediately by another one, the Oni is Frail to Elec and Death skills so have Demons who have those types of skills, it would also help to have Demons strong against Phys because the Oni uses a lot of Physical attacks, these guys sometimes use Luck Roulette of the Beast so just keep that in mind. ================================ ============================================ CASE FILE 3 ============================================ ============================================ Case File 3-1: Don't Try This at Home (1) ============================================ Activation: Speak with the owner at Shin Sekai Soda Joint. ================================ ================================ Case File 4-1: Looking for Fickle Dew ================================ Activation: Speak with the owner of Shin Sekai Soda Joint. ================================ ============================================ Sword Alchemy [Raiho0100] ============================================ This section will go more in depth into an interesting new feature to the Devil Summoner series, Sword Alchemy. ============================================ Introduction [Raiho0101] ============================================ What is Sword Alchemy? While not new to the Shin Megami Tensei series, it is new to the Devil Summoner series. Basically Sword Alchemy enables you to create new swords by using different Steel and materials. There are three different types of weapons you can create Blades, Spears, and Axes. Note that you won't see a different weapon type if you use Raidou's basic combo, the weapon type only manifests itself when you use a Skill with the designated type of weapon or use Raidou's special sword attack by pressing /\. When do I have access to Sword Alchemy? You first gain access to Sword Alchemy while chasing after Tatsumi in Dark Mannen-Cho, when you get to the third Dragon Cave a maid will stop you and tell you that it's available. What do I need to be able to perform Sword Alchemy? You need to have a Renki Sword as your base, you also need certain crystals to create another weapon type from it. What Do I need to be able to perform Sword Alchemy? Where can I find said Materials? The materials needed to perform Sword Alchemy can be gotten several ways: A drop after battle. A gift from a Demon upon leveling up or negotiating with them. Found in the Item Crystals. A reward for completion of a Case File. To get Renki Steel you can find it inside some Crystals, by defeating a sword wielding Demon and they will sometimes drop it, or you will receive it as reward for completion of Case File 3-10. ============================================ Materials [Raiho0102] ============================================ This is a list of the materials, self explanatory. Mana Bonus: Boosts Maximum Mag. Drain: Increase Mag Absorption Rate. Item Bonus: Boost effectiveness of recovery items. 1/2 Ice/Force: Halves Ice and Force Damage. Fire Boost: Boost Fire Attack Damage. Force Boost: Boosts Force Attack Damage. Ice Boost: Boosts Ice Attack Damage. Vengeance Seal: Revive with 1/2 Max HP (One time only.) ============================================ Weapon Flowchart [Raiho0104] ============================================ If you would like to see a better depicted flow chart because mine is lacking and incomplete refer to Arthellinus's Sword Tree (PNG) at: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/951791/56707 ======= Rank 1 ======= Himezuru--->Kanesada, Kotetsu, Nagamitsu Bizen-osafune--->Kanesada, Kotetsu, Nagamitsu 32 Gunto--->Kanesada, Kotetsu, Nagamitsu ======= Rank 2 ======= Kanesada--->Kogarasumaru, Muramasa, Kiyotsune Kotetsu--->Kogarasumaru, Muramasa, Kiyotsune Nagamitsu--->Kogarasumaru, Muramasa, Kiyotsune ============================================ Weapons List [Raiho0105] ============================================ This will be a list of all the weapons you can create through Sword Alchemy, it will have the strength of the weapon, any bonus you get with it, cost, and the amount materials needed to create it. I will also include my evaluation of the weapon. ============================================ Blades: This is the basic weapon type and the cheapest type to create. There is a good balance between Strength, Speed, and Range, Blade type weapons swing behind when using a special attack which makes them useful in situations where Raidou is surrounded. Skills designated with a Sword Icon can only be used with this Weapon type. ================================================= Bizen-osafune ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 150 |Item Bonus |Pyro Steel x2 |2000 Yen| Mag: 1 | |Frost Steel x1 | | Lu: 1 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: This weapon is quite mediocre, only slightly better than his base sword. The stat bonuses provided aren't that great, and the Item Bonus is only useful if you use a lot of healing items during battle. ================================================= ================================================= Kotetsu ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 180 |Fire Boost |Pyro Bronze x1 |4000 Yen| Ma: 2 | |Frost Steel x2 | | ================================================= Analysis: Only good thing about this weapon is that you have Mag +2 added to Raidou's stat, Fire Boost is only useful if you like using Fire Slash/Bullet/Sword a lot, otherwise don't waste the material or money on it. ================================================= ================================================= Muramasa ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 210 |Ice Boost |Pyro Bronze x2 |8000 Yen| Ma: 2 | |Frost Bronze x2 | | Lu: 1 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: Well you have Ma +2 but that is about it, Ice boost is only useful if you like using Ice Slash/Bullet/Sword. Also note that to complete one of the Case Files you actually need to create this sword. ================================================= ===== Spear: This weapon type tends to be the weakest of the three and is the mid range cost of the weapons. It's best used against single enemies and what it lacks in power is counter balanced by the longer range and faster speed. Its special allows for many multiple hits but can only hit the enemy in front of Raidou which makes it an ideal type for Boss enemies. Skills designated with a Spear Icon can only be used with this weapon type. ===== ================================================= Himezuru ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 140 |Mana Bonus |Wind Steel x2 |2200 Yen| Vi: 1 | |Skill Steel x1 | | Lu: 1 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: It's slightly weaker than the Bizen-osafune, its stat bonuses are all right, but is usefulness is better because of the Mana Bonus. It costs 200 yen more but if you use a lot of magic than you might want to consider this weapon. ================================================= ================================================= Kanesada ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 170 |1/2 Ice/Force |Wind Bronze x1 |4400 Yen| Ma: 1 | |Skill Steel x2 | | Vi: 1 | | | | Lu: 1 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: 1/2 Ice/Force is useful because Raidou will take less damage from any Ice or Force type attack, the +1 in both Mag and Vi is all right but it does raise Maximum HP and MP. ================================================= ================================================= Kogarasumaru ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 205 |Force Boost |Wind Bronze x2 |8600 Yen| Ma: 1 | |Skill Bronze x2 | | Vi: 2 | | | | Lu: 1 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: Vi +2 is fine but that's about where it ends, the other two stat boosts are negligible aside from maybe Ma and Force Boost is useless unless you like using the respective skills. ================================================= ==== Axe: The strongest weapon type of the three, the most expensive to create. These weapon types have excellent power but severely lack any speed or range. Its special allows you to charge up the attack and does have an area of effect but it's only around where the weapon hits the ground. It's ideal to use against some bosses or if you are fighting large groups in a confined area, there are no multiple hits either. Skills designated with an Axe Icon can only be used with this weapon type. Personally, I would avoid creating any axe types unless you absolutely have to, stick to the Blade and Spear types. ==== ================================================= 32 Gunto ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 120 | | | | St: 2 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: Uhh yeah, not really a whole lot to say about this particular axe other than create a new weapon out of it a soon as possible, completely useless. ================================================= ================================================= Nagamitsu ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 200 |Drain |Fury Steel x2 |5000 Yen| St: 3 | |Volt Steel x2 | | ================================================= Analysis: St +3 is good to cause more damage. Drain is useful for the faster Mag Absorption rate. ================================================= ================================================= Kiyotsune ================================================= Stats |Bonus |Material |Cost | Atk: 230 |Vengeance Seal |Fury Bronze x2 |9200 Yen| HP: 10 | |Volt Bronze x1 | | St: 3 | | | | ================================================= Analysis: HP +10 is helpful so is St +3. Vengeance Seal is a meh because if you don't die a whole lot in battle then it's pretty useless, plus you'll only get revived once so if you die again you're screwed. =================================================
