Credits ----- .8888b 88 " 88aaa O R E W O R D 88 88 dP Being absent for almost three years from FAQ writing, I figured I'd make a small contribution to one of my favourite old-school J-RPG titles, and what would be more of a worthwhile experience but to write for the Shin Megami Tensei series. Persona 3 was indeed a great experience for me, having spent a total of 200+ hours on FES and 100+ hours on the original. Persona 4 tweaked a few weaknesses its predecessor had and made it possible for players to have more control over the gameplay, as well as its flexibility to be more lenient on maxing many social links in one play. However, above all else that shone brightly was the soundtrack composed by Shoji Meguro. There is nothing much to say about how the music was composed for P4 as he did for P3, since some of the BGMs have similarities that can be related to one another. However Persona 4 has been noted to have a more "retro" feel compared to a modern approach of Persona 3. Also, Lotus Juice does not provide any vocals to the game's soundtrack, and most are performed by the same artist, where the tracks are mostly arranged by Shoji Meguro himself. Either way, this FAQ's purpose is to provide [lyrics] for the [soundtrack of Persona 4]. Now, I understand parts of the lyrics are sometimes hard to grasp and understand, having sung by Japanese artists. However, in my opinion that made the game feel a lot more original and allows players to immerse themselves in the original Japanese atmosphere and culture. I'm really glad that Atlus never decided to exchange any of the music or recompose the songs into a better, more grammatically correct English. I'm afraid of original content such as this would be lost in the future, having seen some of the trends of popular soundtracks of Japanese games localized into English being changed completely, although thankfully most are retained. Getting back on track, the OSTs have been released for both Japan and North America. In this guide I'll be posting the track listing based on the Japanese Persona 4 Soundtrack. The North American release denote both discs as Side A and Side B, where Side A is packaged together with the game. Side B is released as Amazon's exclusive Persona 4 Social Link Expansion Pack. People who initially ripped from the Japanese game found a whole bunch of Persona 3 soundtracks hidden and unused inside the disc. I do not know why this has come up but to answer partially, yes, there are a couple of tracks used from Persona 3 (particularly, FES) in Persona 4. For lyrics which aren't provided officially, you can find them in the [Miscellaneous lyrics] section. I hope you find this guide useful. The popular TV Shopping Program theme, for example, is used in the game as well. I'm still looking for anyone who could provide the romaji as well as the English translation for track 21 (Someone's Man). More will be added if I receive contributions. 1. Theater [track 3, disc 2] Note: The lyrics to this song (played during the Marukyu Striptease dungeon) is repeated multiple times, though I haven't been able to confirm the validity of the following lyrics, because many come up with various ones that they hear themselves, although many agree of the first line to be quite valid. Popular ones are as follow: Sorry, could you make the music louder? I cannot help 'cause of my dream. Sorry, I like the music louder. I cannot help 'cause of my dream. I'm sorry, I only turn the music louder. What can I do, 'cause of my dream. Sorry, but can I turn the music louder? I'll be the girl of your dreams. Sorry, could you make the music louder? I cannot yet 'cause of my dream. 2. P3 FES [track 1, Persona 3: FES Soundtrack] Note: Played during the Yasogami High's trip to Persona 3 Island, in Club Escapade. It is the Intro song for Persona 3: FES. This song is sung by Yumi Kawamura, duet with Lotus Juice. The first paragraph is from the Ending Song, and the translation is as follow: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You were right there with me Always always always you were smiling there beside me Even if I lose you I'll get you back I will never leave you ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte sugu yoko de waratteita Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo I will never leave you If you wanna battle then I take it to the street Where there's no rules Take off the gloves ref please step down Gotta prove my skillz so get down My lyrical dempsey roll about to smack down now Gotta shoot to kill and shoot the skill Don't you be afraid mans gotta go how it feels Six to seven to eight to nine ten I flip the script to make it to the top ten, go Dreamless dorm ticking clock I walk away from the soundless room Windless night moonlight melts My ghostly shadow to the lukewarm gloom Nightly dance of bleeding swords Reminds me that I still live Every man's gotta fight the fear I'm the first to admit it shear thoughts Provoke the new era become a big terror But my only rival is my shadow Rewind then playback and six my own error Get low to the ground it's getting better Like I told you before double up I did More cheddar L to the J say stay laced here's my card B Royal flush and I'm the Ace 3.
