Second, I want to thank Upright8infinitY and BlackKnightVirgil for their SUPERB FAQs for this game. Their work inspired me to put together this FAQ specifically about gem creation and weapon crafting. The source of some of the information in this FAQ is from their FAQs. I have tried to make sure I attributed anything I directly quoted from one of their FAQs to the appropriate author. If I missed anything, please forgive me and feel free to mail me a correction. I also want to thank Kiah whom is credited by BlackKnightVirgil in his FAQ as the source of much of the information on this topic. Third, I want to thank anyone in advance who sends me information to help make this FAQ better. That is how these things improve! Fourth, I want to thank GAMEFAQs for making all of this information available. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCTION: One of the many cool things in this game is the ability to create your own gems that can be used for Iari or (even better) used to make really sweet weapons. The process is very complicated, however, and the information in the game on the matter is exceptionally sparse. Other FAQs for Summoner 2 have touched on the issue (especially BlackKnightVirgil's), but it is so complicated I felt an even more detailed analysis was in order. In case you are interested, here is a tiny bit about me. I make online RPGs for a living, and have been doing so professionally for over 7 years. I founded my company 1996 and incorporated in 1998. Our flagship game is Threshold RPG, an online, text RPG where role playing is *enforced* and *required*. This section is a list of soul types, gems types created by those souls, and good places to gather these souls (LOC). For easiest effect, get the SOUL HAMMER for Morbazon (found in the Labyrinth of Guardians, 1st yellow room). With this hammer, Morbazon gets a soul every time he kills with that hammer. If you use Soul Consume melee attack ( /T\ button when Morbazon has at least Twilight Combat 2) you sometimes get more than 1 soul. Second, there are two ways to get gems. The first is from monsters. You cannot get very many types and levels of gems this way, however. The best way to get the type of gem you want is to use souls to create them. Third, it is important to note that if you wish to make a gem of level X, you need X * 10 number of souls of that type. Yes, you need 100 Inferno souls for that level 10 Orange Gem. :) The information provided below shows what types of souls can be used to create which types of gems. The [+] information has the bonuses provided by the gem and likewise, the [-] line has penalties. The information is based on a level 1 gem. Multiply the bonuses/penalties by the level of the gem to determine the final modifiers. FOR USE BY IARI ONLY: At gem level 5 a ward is added. At gem level 8 a special effect is added. At gem level 10 the effect becomes a "level 15" potency effect. These benefits do not affect weapons. They only affect Iari when used. The LOC entry for each soul/gem includes areas and monsters where that type of soul can be obtained. This FAQ shows a preference for areas/monsters that are plentiful enough and easy enough to reach so you can farm souls in an efficient manner. Unfortunately, for some soul types the only available location(s) are not that easy (and Urath's Prayer souls are downright absurdly hard to get!). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) REDEMPTION White Gem [+] AP Regen (100 + 10/level)%, Poison Ward 5+, Ice Shield 8+ [-] STR -1/level, M.DEF -1/level LOC: Isle of Teomura = Red Island Ghosts and Munari Pirates Indubal Prison = Indubal Executioner Adytum of the Unseen = Unseen Guardian (ranged) Eleh Caverns = Eleh Parasite Paludal Bridge = Rococro ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) SOUL SEARCH Green Gem [+] INT +5/lvl, Sense Ward 5+, Faith at 8+ [-] STR -2/lvl, DEF -2/lvl, STA -2/lvl LOC: Isle of Teomura = Purple Island Ghosts and Sudani Pirates Indubal Prison = Indubal Guardian Adytum of the Unseen = Unseen Guardian (melee) Eleh Caverns = Tusk Wolf Vandal's Ruins = Deceiver (they also drop Voidstones for Death poison) Paludal Bridge = Rococro, Mud Golem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) VITALIZE Red Gem [+] STA +15/lvl, DEF +5/lvl, Strength Ward 5+, Regeneration 8+ [-] INT -1/lvl, M.DEF -2/lvl LOC: Isle of Teomura = Blue Island Ghosts, Isle of Teomura Adytum of the Unseen = Unseen Beast Paludal Bridge = Mud Golem Tamirath Citadel = Blue and Purple Living Armors ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) HASTE Yellow Gem [+] SPD +30/lvl, Time Ward at 5+, Hastened 8+ [-] LOC: Miridan's Pass = Zombies (undead w/ 2 swords). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) SOUL TRANSFER Black Gem [+] All stats +3/lvl, INT +2/lvl, Soul Ward 5+, Empowered 8+ [-] --- n/a --- LOC: Miridan's Pass = Galdyran Soldier Tamirath Citadel = Yellow Living Armors ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) INFERNO Orange Gem [+] STR +10/lvl, MAG +10/lvl, Death Ward 5+, Fire Shield 8+ [-] --- n/a --- LOC: Tamirath Citadel = Undead Soldiers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) OMEN Cyan Gem [+] DEF +10/lvl, M.DEF +10/lvl, Magic Ward 5+, Protected 8+ [-] --- n/a --- LOC: Adytum of the Unseen = Unseen Guardian (ranged) Tamirath Citadel = Blue and Purple Living Armors ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) URATH PRAYER Blue Gem [+] STA +25/lvl, Death Ward 5+, nothing at 8+ [-] --- n/a --- LOC: Tamirath Citadel = Blue Living Armors Tower of the Ancients = Khargathalan Ranger Battle for Miridan's Pass = Tempest Demon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) BEGUILE Purple Gem [+] MAG +10/lvl, STR +10/lvl, DEF +10/lvl, M.DEF +10/lvl, Mind Ward 5+, Energy Shield 8+ [-] STA -3/lvl, INT -2/lvl LOC: Adytum of the Unseen = Unseen Guardian (melee) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@ II - Weapon Types, Molds, and Crafting Data @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ There are 6 weapon types that can be crafted. For each weapon type, there are four relevant statistics: the inherent STR bonus (hammers and staves also have an inherent speed penalty), the MAX number of gems it can accept, the maximum gem level (GL), and the maximum power level (PL). The PL is determined by adding together the PL as listed herein. As described in a later section, the GL times 3.5% is the chance of the "mud benefit" kicking in. To craft a weapon, you need the appropriate weapon mold. The molds are found in various places throughout the game and are also listed below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CROSSBOW (Sangaril): Mold Found: While wearing the Red Mask (obtained by defeating the Tribunal) speak to the person wearing a red mask around the entry portal of the Temple of Archons.
