This year, she is way faster, better and stronger than the last year. She has got very useful moves (low recovery) and some other damaging moves but with a long lag. Also, she has got some good range moves that help her to approach her opponent easily. But of course, those moves must be used wisely, or you will get your ass kicked in no time. Actually I like Julia so much that I did not touch any other character but her. But I know all my opponents' moves of course so that I can get them with their weak points. I strongly advice you to learn all her moves and try to know her good and weak points in each move so that you can use them perfectly with any expert opponent. Which means, her Lashing Arrow cannot be used freely because it has a bad recovery time, unlike her Party Crasher... it is by far the best and fastest move in her command list. But does that mean you can never use Lashing Arrow in any battle? Of course you can, when the opponent is on the ground and then does rolling backward, you can use it or after Shove It Up (counter). But for a decent and pure damage do Palm Explosion... range and damage (12 damage I think). Everybody knows that Julia has got some damaging moves but at the same time, if not hit, big lag... so they in return either wait for a mistake and attack with normal ones and then when you do, and the opponent just defended it... you are HISTORY. Like what? Simply, Tequila Sunrise Low Kick Slash Uppercut. This is a very good move for a decent combo after it. But what if the opponent defended it? You get the picture. So, you can always not complete it, like LK, RP, RK then stop and Party Crasher or crouching LP (jab). You notice that Julia has got so many different ways to change her Tequila Sunrise move. To Low Kick Slash Uppercut, or Low High Kicks or even Low Kicks. Just be REALLY careful with her Tequila Sunrise Elbow Smash because it is extremely not as useful as others. You can always go to other moves other than this. Also, her sidesteps are good... I mean her Parting Fist and Twin Walking Kicks. Twin Walking Kicks can be used when you see any straight special attack, like Paul's Thruster, Burning Spear or Phoenix Smasher... just sidestep and then do Twin Walking Kicks, and do then carry on with a very damaging combo so that your opponent never risks such a move. Like Twin Walking Kicks, Divine Impact. Mountain Crusher is great for combos. Razor's Edge is good for the tricky guys or to put it in any combo or cornered opponents. But becareful, because if she missed the last hit (the important one) then you will eat some damage. So use it when you are pretty sure. And if you want to go for a grap, use Mad Axes because it takes good damage (around 42... 14-100%). Her Party Crasher is so useful but becareful that some guys like to wait and then sidestep and kick you real good. But of course you can always play fast and change your ways. Do not stick with one method so that you won't be easy to read. Also her Party Crasher is fast and even if they defend it, you can still do one of the following three choices, 1-Defend, 2-Crouching LP or 3-Elbow Skyscraper Kick. If you can react fast, see the opponent and if he or she is about to move just Elbow Skyscraper Kick. It is great. And you can do other things as well. Also her Party Crasher can be really a pain in the @$$ when you do it over, over, over, over and over again after every combo... mostly, air combos I mean. Her Plam Explosion is great for another thing than the one I talked about above. When it counters the opponent, it will make him/her get stunned (falling down slowing) for about less than three seconds... so you can keep on with the painful combos. But do not do it unless you are pretty sure that it will at least hit the opponent! As I said, Julia recovers real slow from some good attacks, but that does not mean the end of the world, you can use these attacks effectively if you know all your opponents moves, also you can always cancel some of your moves to others. Your opponent is no fortune teller, he knows your character's good and weak points, but he does not know what you are going to do "next"! If you see a good chance, go for the Slow Power Punch Combo, because after it, there will be a big mess (must see the combos down). Also her Machine Gun Cannon is good for combos too, but also during counter hit... any way it is really damaging. I see many guys do her Ultimate Cannon endlessly and carelessly, and I tell you use it wisely because if the opponent defends it, then be ready for a combo and do not forget to say OUCH (if the opponent is an expert, that is). Same case goes for Bow & Arrow Kick. Remember that her three ten hit combos are so easy to read. So, if the opponent defends the first four hits, you can always stop (don't worry, just stop or continue with another hit and then stop)... do not say you are one of the Button-Mashers Fan Club? When you realize it did not hit, just stop... because I always kick my opponent very and I mean VERY hard when he or she does not stop! She does four middle hits so most of them can get the picture of her ten hit combos. As I do with the other characters. Her unblockable move, Heavy Uppercut is GREAT but so avoidable. It is great because you can do GOOD and DAMAGING combos after it, but it is noticeable. Anyway, if you think that the opponent noticed it (fast reaction) then cancel and Party Crasher or Mad Axes. Her double Sweep move is effective in corners... besides which, she is so deadly when she corners her opponent... so, please be kind enough to not let your opponent get away, because it is kind of rare to get the chance to corner your opponent. Many guys knows so, so they play wise and not corner themselves, especially Marduk. But becareful with Nina or some guys, they might be tricky when they are cornered, just focus. Please, do not listen to those who say that Julia should defend and turtle with Marduk so that she can own him. Ahh, for God's sake, Julia already owns him for free... her jab is faster and better than his... so if you do not want Marduk to kick your sorry @$$, "ATTACK EFFECTIVELY and ENDLESSLY" (but not carelessly! Greetings, scrubs ^_^). There are so many things to tell, but the above are the major important things, other are easy to know. Stick with the games rules a lot (like sidesteps, graps and parrys), because they are also helpful. And that is about it. ---------------- Combos: ---------------- I will only write the names' moves (not the commands), I have always been so... so if anybody is not good with it, you can see the command list above and then check here again.
