The Battle Of Yu Yu Hakusho Introduction Well this is going to be my first time doing a guide for any game so all I can really say is that I hope it turns out well. About game This game follows the battles of the Dark Tournament in the arcade version of the game. But this one in the story mode starts a little sooner than that. It begins with Yusuke's first case. The three artifacts. From there it moves on to the Dark Tournament and all the way to the end. I'm not going to get into detail about the story for now because most of the people playing this game should know the story. This game has a great selection of characters to choose from and good moves for all, or at least I believe so. It also has some nice extras but I'll get into to those later in the guide. That one has a few extra things in it that the regular doesn't, like being able to use any character. The regular arcade mode is I guess the obvious just like the arcade version. Also in both modes you fight a total of eight fights. The last four will always be Karasu, Bui, Elder Toguro, and Younger Toguro in that order. The final fight with Y. Toguro gives you four options before the fight. You can choice to either fight him in his base power, 80% power, or his 100% power form. The last option is to randomly choose for you. 120% Mode In here you can use all characters that you have unlocked. Also in battle I've noticed something. In the regular arcade you could only transform when on the ground and standing. But in 120% mode you can transform while in the air. Also when transformed if you're knocked into the air and press the R2 button (default) your character will release energy at a small cost to damage and slightly push back your opponent. The only problem is that they have to be close for it to hit them. I'm not going to explain the regular arcade mode because it's exactly the same as 120% mode except for those things that I listed. 5. Story Mode In here you follow the story of Yu Yu Hakusho. Starting from Yusuke's first fight and all the way to the end of the Dark Tournament. I will not for the most part say how difficult these battles are. It all depends on what difficulty setting you have on and how good you are. One more thing. You are able to end the game in two different places. 1. Is two beat the whole story mode and 2. is win battle number 11. 1. Yusuke vs Gouki 2. Yusuke vs Hiei 3. Yusuke vs Rando 4. Yusuke vs Susaku 5. Yusuke and Kuawbara vs Younger Toguro 6. Genkai vs 6 demons 7. Kuwabara vs Rinku 8. Yusuke vs Chu 9. Kurama vs Toya and then Yusuke vs Jin 10. Genkai vs Shishiwakamaru and Onji 11. Genkai vs Younger Toguro (not sure which power%) If you are able to defeat Y. Toguro in this hard battle then it ends. After it ends you get a nice little scence between Genkai and Y. Toguro when they're in spirit world. But I wish I knew what they were saying. 12. Kurama vs Karasu, Hiei vs Bui, and Kuwabara vs Elder Toguro 13. Yusuke vs Younger Toguro (80%) 14. Yusuke vs Younger Toguro (100%) 6. VS Mode Fight your friends or the computer. Simple enough. 7. Survival Mode Survival Mode Just like every other survival mode in fighting games. Choose a character and see how long you can last. Bouts last one round and get harder with the more wins you get. After each win you recover a small amount of life. (Note: Can only use Younger Toguro's base form, no Puu's, and no Gouki, Rando, and demons A through F.) Toguro's Challenge 1 You must face off against Younger Toguro in 10 matchs. With each match he becomes more difficult. Like in survival mode you recover a small amount of life after each win. Toguro's Challenge 2 You must defeat 100% Younger Toguro. He is extremely difficult to beat. But it is a little easier than the first challenge since it's only one fight. You get 5 chances to beat him before it makes you start the challenge over again. What ever amount of his life bar and energy bar you knock off carries over to the next fight. Knife-edge Death Match It's exactly the same as survival mode except that you are enclosed in a small circle of knifes. 8. Practice Mode Just like it says. Pick the character that you wish to practice with and your opponent that you wish to beat the crap out of and go to town. 9. Special Mode In here are some things that you have unlocked by playing story mode and arcade/120% mode. Now Loading Editor In here you can make it so that you can have whatever images and voice clips you want to come up in place of the loading screen. Have fun mixing things up or putting things together. You can have a total of 10 different loading screens at a time. They will randomly pop up at loading screens. Movie Gallery Here you can view all the little story segments before each battle, the clips of the characters that go by when choosing them, and clips that were done for the game. Plus the original anime opening without the credits. Character Gallery Like it says. You can view all the character models in the game and their transformed states. 10.
