Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend FAQ/Movelist/Story Mode Guide v. 1.0 By BJ Wanlund (Donald_Duck_Fan) --- Version –-- 1.0 Created Guide --- Disclaimer –-- This guide is in no way to be used on any website without full credit given to me (the author). This can be used on GameFAQs.com and any website that gives full credit to the authors of these guides. If you found this guide on a website that either did not give me credit or stripped my credit out entirely, please send me an email at givebjcreditforhiswork@gmail.com with the details of what you observed and the site’s contact information and procedure to report FAQs and guides for copyright violation. --- Introduction –-- Not only is this my first ever FAQ/guide, this is also a combination Movelist/Story Mode Guide for the game BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. I have been a BlazBlue fan ever since the very first game, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, and my love for BlazBlue has been reinstated by this game. This movelist should be fine on every platform, including arcade, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. This guide also makes the assumption that you know at least something about fighting games, and the story mode guide portion is as spoiler-free as possible. However, because this guide is very much a work in progress, please email me at yoshicus86@gmail.com with any and all corrections of things that don’t work on your particular platform of choice. I’m using PlayStation 3 for this guide, but the movelists should work on most other platforms. Also, credit where it is due: I did use the Story Mode guide from BlazBlue Wiki, but I changed the term Alternate Ending to Bad Ending so it made a bit more sense. --- A Note About Stylish Layout –-- There will be two different sets of movelists: One for the “Stylish Layout” for you console people and button mashers, and the other “Technical Layout” for the more technical people. I will note that most of the Story Mode guide below will be made far easier by the use of the Stylish Layout in order to get all the endings, with notable exceptions that I will note when I get to them. --- Directional Layout –-- The directional commands will be notated as follows: 789 456 123 Note: The directional layouts below will assume you’re facing to the right. If you are facing to the left, then it is the exact opposite. There are various things you need to be made aware of in the Directional Layout. One of them is that with some characters, you have to rotate the control stick a number of times, which I will detail when I get to them (*cough* Iron Tager *cough*). There are other control stick motions you will have to perform, which are as follows: Half Circle Back, Forward = 632146 Double Quarter Circle Back = 214 214 Quarter Circle Back = 214 Quarter Circle Forward = 236 Shoryuken motion (or Z-pattern) = 623 Down Down = 2 2 Quarter Circle Back, then Quarter Circle Forward = 214 236 Double Quarter Circle Forward = 236 236 Spinning Bird Kick motion = 2 (charge), then 8 --- Stylish Layout –-- The button layout for the Stylish Layout will be notated as follows: N = Normal button (on PS3, this is the Square button) H = Heavy button (on PS3, this is the Triangle button) S = Special button (on PS3, this is the Circle button) T = Throw (on PS3, this is the X button) Other notations will be as follows: [N] = holding the N button will allow you to perform that Distortion Drive. [H] = holding the H button will allow you to perform that Distortion Drive. [N + H] = holding both the N and H buttons together will allow you to perform an Astral Heat if you only need 1 more round to win the match, your Heat meter is at 100%, and your opponent’s health is 20% or lower. [AP] = This will denote using your Taunt button, which by default is set to R1 on PS3. If you use this button vs. the CPU during Story and Arcade modes, your Heat Gauge will fill to 100%, thereby making using Distortion Drives and Astral Heats way easier. --- Technical Layout –-- The button layout for the Technical Layout will be notated as follows: A = Weak Attack B = Medium Attack C = Heavy Attack D = Drive Attack (varies by character) A + B = B + C = Throw A + B + C = Cancel (Not usable in Stylish Layout) A + B + C + D = Barrier Burst (Not usable in Stylish Layout) --- Introduction to Story Mode –-- First, you must go through two different things to get to the good stuff in the Story Mode. The first is Calamity Trigger Reconstruction, which you do have to play through (see below), and the second is a movie that introduces the idea of the Continuum Shift, which will be mentioned A LOT in Story Mode, so pay attention. --- Calamity Trigger Reconstruction –-- You will first see a movie that sets up the story. Some scientists are observing Subject 13 (which is Nu-13, the main villain of the first game), and everything goes 150% haywire (obviously). So, that’s where you begin playing through the story mode. This is how you need to complete it. 1. Ragna vs. V-13 2. Noel vs. Carl 3. Jin vs. Bang 4. Ragna vs. Taokaka 5. Noel vs. Iron Tager 6. Ragna vs. Arakune 7. Ragna vs. Litchi 8. Ragna vs. Valkenhayn 9. Ragna vs. Unlimited Rachel 10. Ragna vs. Jin 11. Ragna vs. Hakumen 12. Ragna vs. Unlimited Hakumen 13. Noel vs. V-13 14. Ragna vs. V-13 --Continuum Shift and some Notes -- This is just a movie introducing the idea of the Continuum Shift, which is henceforth known as the name of the game. Note: Distortion and Astral Finishes are a very good way to finish off your opponents (because you only have 1 match to either win or lose), but be careful, because you will get a one-way ticket to the bad ending with some characters. Note: Taunting against the CPU, even in Story Mode, will fill your Heat Gauge to 100%, which will help with every character in Story mode, with exceptions. There are various different story paths, and you have to be able to play through every single Story Mode path, including the good endings (or the Canon endings), the bad endings (where you get to view an episode of “Help Me! Professor Kokonoe” for your specific character), AND the joke endings (or the Gag endings) in order to 100% that character’s Story Mode (there’ll be some exceptions, but I will note those below). So, read on, brave reader, and I will guide you through the Story Mode for each character! -- Ragna the Bloodedge -- Ragna the Bloodedge is essentially the main protagonist of this game. His Drive is “Soul Eater,” which, as you would think, removes HP from your opponent to heal Ragna. - Stylish Layout Movelist – Inferno Divider S (DD) Carnage Scissors Uses 50% Heat [N] (DD) Blood Kain Uses 50% Heat [H] (DD) Devoured by Darkness Uses 50% Heat [H] while Blood Kain is active Note: Using both Blood Kain and Devoured by Darkness will require you to Taunt your opponents in Story Mode.
