Hokuto No Ken 7 FAQ/Move list For the Super Famicom Fighting Game By Kenshiro Souke June 22, 2000 Hokuto No Ken 7 Seiken Retsuden - Denshousha he no Michi Legend of the Holy Fists - Legendary Road Disclaimer Why I made this FAQ What You Should Know About Hokuto No Ken Gameplay Fighters and their Moves Credits Disclaimer: Okay, I don't want anyone using this FAQ on their website, selling, or distributing this FAQ in any way without my permission. Why I Made This FAQ: I made this FAQ because as a fan of Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) I believe that information should be out there on how to play a fighting game made from the Anime. Although this game is not as good as Hokuto No Ken 6 before it, Hokuto No Ken 7 does need to be recognized. It is a fighting game modeled after Street Fighter with many moves and characters. Fans of the series will recognize there are tons of Nanto fighters and only two Hokuto fighters which is interesting. Hokuto No Ken 7 is a fighting game for fans of the Anime but still worth acknowledging. The moves and match ups are interesting and that's the whole idea. The game doesn't really have a story like the first one, Hokuto No Ken 7 was made for fans to play their "Dream Matches" with the various characters that are in the game. What You Should Know About Hokuto No Ken: Hokuto No Ken is an Anime known as Fist of the North Star in the United States and as different titles in several other countries. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic era where the entire world is in ruin and technology is no longer of use. The world is plagued by ruthless thugs preying on the weak so they can obtain food and water. Amidst this chaotic struggle for life exists Kenshiro. Kenshiro is the master of Hokuto Shinken (North Dipper God Fist) and this deadly martial arts style is capable of destroying a man by triggering pressure points in the body. The opposite style he encounters is Nanto Seiken (South Dipper God Fist) which focuses on destroying the body from the outside. He journeys to rescue his true love Julia from Shin, a Nanto Seiken fighter who became jealous and abducted her. That is basically the central premise of the story but of course it soon becomes more than that. Gameplay: The game plays pretty straight forward. If you played Street Fighter you should have no trouble adapting to this fighting game. The only difference is that you have an energy bar that builds up beneath your health bar that can give you three different super attacks. You can choose to let the energy bar go up to perform the super attack you would like by pressing the R button, or you could use that energy to perform a barrier to an attack using the fighter's aura. Either way the spiritual energy that comes in battle is useful nonetheless. Up: Jump Down: Crouch Left: Move back/Block Right: Move forward A: Strong Kick B: Kick X: Strong Punch Y: Punch L: Barrier R: Super Attack START: Pause There are three different modes of battle: Story, Battle and Freeplay. Unfortunately in Story Mode you can only use Kenshiro, but in Battle and Freeplay you can play as any of the fighters except for the bosses Heart and Fang. Note that although the energy bar may go a little slow in Story Mode it goes much faster in Battle Mode! Fighters and their Moves: Kenshiro The Savior of the Century's End...he is the man with seven wounds on his chest and is the legendary Hokuto Shinken successor. Guided by strange fate, love and sadness reward him with the ultimate fighting skills. Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken Y (rapidly) Senju Kai Ken: X (rapidly) Zankai Ha: Toward, Down (X or Y) Hishou Ujou Kyaku: Jump + B Shouryuu Tou Ha: Down, Up (X or Y) Hokuto Goushou Ha I: Away, Toward (X or Y) Hokuto Goushou Ha II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Shichishisei Ten: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Musou Tensei: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Although much more lean and cut in this game than he was in Hokuto No Ken 6, Kenshiro is still the Fist of the North Star! He's probably the best fighter to use of course. He can now do two different Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken attacks and can even do a Hishou Ujou Kyaku which is a mid-air multi-kick attack which is very useful. Kenshiro has a wide variety of attacks such as fireballs and energy fist attacks. But he still has the same old bag of tricks including the Shichishisei Ten and his Musou Tensei which unfortunately doesn't look as good or lasts as long as it did in Hokuto No Ken 6. But still, Kenshiro is the best fighter to use. Use him mainly offensively but he is also a great defensive fighter. Raoh The oldest and tallest of the four Hokuto brothers, he is the Conqueror of the Century's End. To be the strongest man on earth, he has discarded all emotions including love. His ambition is to rule to Heavens! Tenshou Honretsu: Y (rapidly) Mousou Insatsu: Down-Away, Toward + B, later Y Zankai Ha: Toward, Down (X or Y) Myoudan Touken: X(rapidly) Goushou Ryuurai: Down-Toward,Up + X Mou Shou Ha I: Away, Down-Toward (X or Y) Mou Shou Ha II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Goutou Bakuka: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Musou Tensei: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Tough as ever before and now with more moves to be bludgeon the enemy with. He has his multi-hit Tenshou Honretsu and for a Super he can do a Goutou Bakuka which is a super multi-hit fist attack that increases his range by combining his fists with energy. Like in the series, Raoh, too can perform Musou Tensei just like Ken but with the same dismal results. Use Raoh offensively at all times, he is very powerful. Shin He is one of the six Nanto Seiken fighters and he represents the male martyr star and is the successor of the Nanto Lone Eagle style. He steals Kenshiro's fiance Julia because he lives for love and is destined to be martyred by love. The seven wounds on Kenshiro's chest were engraved by this man. Gokuto Ken: Down-Toward + B Ko Ha Ryuu: Toward (X or Y) Kikei Ha: Away, Down-Toward (A or B) Nanto Tensou Kyaku: Toward, Down (A or B) Gokuto Juuji Ha I: Down-Toward (X or Y) Gokuto Juuji Ha II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Gokusou Juuji Ken: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Tenbu Sosai Ken: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Shin finally appears in a fighting game and he sure proves his worth! Probably the second cheapest character in the game besides Shuu, he can easily bombard his enemies with fireballs and flying kicks leaving the enemy unable to do anything! Use Shin offensively by repeatedly firing off Gokuto Kens and Kikei Has and doing a powerful super as soon as possible! Rei He is one of the six Nanto Seiken fighters who represents the Male Star of Justice and is the magnificent successor of the Nanto Swan style. Both of his parents were murdered and his younger sister Aili has been taken away. Like a hungry wolf in the wilderness, he is angry and searching for the man with seven wounds on his chest. You Satsu Ken: Toward (X or Y) You Shou Kyaku: Down-Toward (A or B) Hishou Hakurei: Jump + X Yousou Kyakubu: Down, Up (X or Y) You Sou Ha I: Away, Toward (X or Y) You Sou Ha II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Hishou Kouryuu Geki: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Danko Sousai Ken: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Rei returns for more a second time and this time has more aggressive moves! He can attack mid air with the Hishou Hakurei and has many fireball and charging attacks. As before his supers are great and do lots of damage. Definitely a great offensive fighter! Give him a shot! Shuu He is one of the Six Southern Cross Holy Fists who represents the Male Star of Virtue and is the successor of the legendary Nanto White Heron style. He is destined to live for the hope of the future... there was a time where he removed his sight to save a young Kenshiro's life. He is a very deeply loving man. Res Satsu Ken: Toward (X or Y Hakuro Hishou Kyaku: Down-Toward (A or B) Hakuro Tensou Kyaku: Toward, Down (A or B) Hakuro Senbuu Satsu: Away, Down-Toward (A or B) Hakuro Shu Ha I: Down-Toward (X or Y) Hakuro Shu Ha II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Hakuro Gou Kyaku: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Rekkyaku Kuubu: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Shuu finally appears in a fighting game and is definitely worth a shot! Like Shin, he has a host of moves that you can do repetitively making him the cheapest fighter in the game! You can do any of his moves repeatedly and the enemy will easily fall. Again, another great offensive fighter! Souther He is one of the Six Southern Cross Holy Fists who represents the male star of leadership and is the Nanto Phoenix successor. He is also known as the Emperor. To separate himself from the time when he was a young child and loved his teacher, he has a love for sadness. Therefore, he doesn't love and hates it. Hou Zan Geki: Toward (X or Y) Hou Bu Kyaku: Down-Toward (A or B) Hou Yokusei Kyaku: Charge Away, Toward, Down + B Houou Tensou Kyaku: Toward, Down (A or Y) Kyokusei Juuji Ken I: Toward, Down + X Houou Shouten Kyaku I: B or A rapidly Kyokusei Juuji Ken II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Houou Shouten Kyaku II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Tenshou Juuji Hou: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: The mighty Souther emerges once again as the most powerful Nanto fighter to choose from. He also has the same cool Egyptian theme from Hokuto No Ken 6! With his fast gliding abilities and invulnerability to ordinary moves make him the best fighter to pick from. He must be played defensively which is a lot of work. If he gets hit with a special move his invincibility will no longer work and ordinary attacks will then be successful, so be sure to avoid every special move the enemy does and defeat them before they can touch you. His supers are wonderful and can easily destroy the enemy. Juuza Juuza of the Clouds is one of the Nanto Goshasei. He is a man without restrictions and loves freedom. Shou Tou Haisui Ken: Jump + X Gekiheki Haisui Kyaku: Away, Down-Toward + A Fun Sai Ken: Toward, Down-Toward (X or Y) Hensou Yuui Kyaku: Toward + B, Away + A Gekiretsu Haisui Ken: Toward + Y, X Sei Zan Geki I: Away, Toward (X or Y) Sei Zan Geki II: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level One Hishou Ryuukai Geki: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Two Gekiheki Haisui Shou: R button when Aura gauge reaches Level Three Rating: Surprisingly the free spirited Nanto Goshasei fighter, Juuza of the Clouds made it to a fighting game! With his free spirited style you will find mastering Juuza very difficult. His moves are not pulled off easy and most of the moves are unusual and will be hard to work into the scheme of fighting. He does have some excellent moves, even a move that resembles Ken's Hyakuretsu Ken. A good fighter, but takes a while to figure out. Bosses: Fang (Kiba Daiou) He is the leader of a group of thieves with sharp fangs and claws like wolves known as the One Fang Tribe. Their lightning fast Chinese skills, which everyone one them train under, is known as Splendorous Mountain Angle Resist Play in which their moves draw and flow like water. Everyone of them have a weapon. Rating: Unfortunately you cannot play as this boss, a code has yet to be found to enable the use of Fang. From observations he seems to only have one special move which is simply throwing one of his Fang Clan members at you. When his energy meter he can do a skin hardening technique like he does in the series but all he does is freeze up and when you fight him you can easily knock him out of his invincibility. Heart His flesh is flexible like a gummy substance, it can wrap and bond a person's fist so that it can't escape. He is a man well known for his fist destroying skill. Rating: Unlike Hokuto No Ken 6, you cannot play as Heart. There doesn't seem to be much going on with him but a few punches he can do. He also doesn't seem to have a super attack.
