Story **************** ========= From the instruction manual: AT LAST, A REAL HERO! Plok is an irresistible, irrepressible, unstoppable, highly improbable and downright dangerous bundle of pure energy. Plok does not like fleas. Plok has the amazing ability to fire all his body parts at will. Plok can really 'throw' a punch. Plok has a very short fuse; at the slightest irritation those limbs begin to fly. Plok hates fleas. Plok is a true hero, with a heart of gold and joints of the highest-quality velcro. Plok is a man with a mission. He is dedicated to ridding the world of the dreaded Fleas. Plok is a dreamer, a wanderer, a free spirit. He's suave and elegant. He's grade-A, first-class prime cut. Plok really does not like Fleas. Plok is the king of the beautiful island called Akrillic, part of the archipelago Poly-Esta --------- Plok is a neat red and yellow creature with the ability of being able to throw his limbs around if he needs to. The story starts off, with Plok's flag going missing. A little bit ticked off, he decides to search the islands to find it. When he finds his flag, he decides to care of the flea problem while he is on a winning streak. The fleas have constantly infected his land, and he's going to take action! Along the adventure, Plok has to fight his way through the land going up against some very weird bosses and enemies. Not just the fleas are on Ploks side. He must go to each area and destroy the number shown. His late grand pappy Plok will also play a role in the game, and many more interesting things will come together. All these will lead to the dark, creepy underground caves of the Flea Queen. Only Plok can save Arillic, and the rest of Poly-Esta! ============ 2. Controls **************** ============ Plok is easy to control, it just takes getting used to. Directional Pad will move him left, right and down will make Plok be able to compact and become smaller without having the inability to walk. A - Lets Plok do the super spin jump. B - Lets Plok do the regular jump. x - Dispenses a flea killer. Y - Lets Plok throw a limb. START pauses the game, or goes into gameplay. Select at the title screen will give you the option of playing a game in Kid Play or Normal Play. ========= 3. Items ****************** ========= There are only a few items to help Plok, the rest lies in his ability to kick butt. Berry ----- found here and there. Shooting this berry makes it bigger, and more fulfilling. Shoot it too many times, it explodes or turns into a warp. Ruby ---- When you destroy a Rockyfella, he'll leave this behind. This will give Plok semi-invincibilty. It will move in a circle around Plok. Lasts about 10-15 seconds. Razor Wheel ----------- By touching these, Plok will go in the direction he faces super fast and becoming invincible to all enemies and destroying them. Can last from 1-10 seconds. Shells ------ These are scattered around the level, and they will help Plok get extra lives. I'm not sure of the number (guessing it's 100). There is a Plok head at the top of the playing screen, when this turns completely yellow, Plok will get an extra life. Pink Shells ----------- These are found only in Pink Shell Games. Flea Killers ------------ These are cool things you can pick up, like another sort of shell. Dispensing them, will set them on those nasty fleas! They will die shortly after stinging a flea, or just being around too long. Plokcontinue ------------ Plok gets these everytime he picks up one of the letters in his name, or completes a level. Targets ------- These are red and white targets that will cause platforms and elevators to move. They can be helpful in letting Plok pass the level. There are also Targets with springs on them, if Plok hit's one of these it will explode. Firing at some Targets will take limbs however, and you can only get those back at a: Hanger ------ If Plok shoots a target, his Limbs will be hung on a hanger somewhere in the level. By touching the hanger, Plok can get all his limbs back. ============ 4. Presents *************** ============ When Plok finds a present, by touching it he can turn into a powered=up Plok! His costumes won't prevent him from being hurt though, but they will provide him with more fire power! This lasts for a short time, except in the Fleat Pit levels where you use that costume the whole level. (Note: Don't forget, Plok can fire ammo which will collect those hard to reach shells!) Here's all the forms Plok can take: Helicopter Plok --------------- Where to find it: Cotton Island - Beach Warp, The Flea Pit - It's a Spin Plok can be in a helicopter that is a little hard to control, but he can also shoot out ammo to shock or destroy baddies. Multi Shooting Plok ------------------- Where to find it: Akrillic - Plok Town, Akrillic - Venge Thicket Plok can fire ammo in front of him and above him! Very, very useful and fun. Cowboy Plok ----------- Where to find it: Akrillic - Creepy Crag Well, at least Plok got to be a cowboy. All he can do is shoot a prop gun that shoots out a flag with the word BANG on it. 4x4 Plok -------- Where to find it: The Flea Pit - Road Hogging This is a fun one! Plok gets to speed through the level! No ammo, and it's hard to control at times when jumping. Tank Plok --------- Where to find it: The Flea Pit - Real Rumbling Plok is heavily armored and has plenty of ammo. Fleas beware! However, it can't jump very well. UFO Plok -------- Where to find it: The Flea Pit - Silent Running Plok is armed with a source of ammo, but now he can fly and dodge or shoot fleas easily. Springin' UK Plok ----------------- Where to find it: The Flea Pit - The Flea Queen Shoe made out of springs, a british flag helmet, and a gun, this is Plok's last form in the game. ========= 5. Warps ****************** ========= There are warps all over Plok, and they are fun to find and great for the advanced gamer just looking to breeze through the game to see the ending. Also included, is the pink shell warps. These aren't warps, but a hidden mini game in which Plok must collect these Pink Shells to get more shells. CI = Cotton Island, A = Akrillic, LI = Legacy Island, FP = The Flea Pit Location Destination -------- ----------- CI - Beach CI - Crazy Cradles CI - Columns CI - Blind Leap CI - Log Falls CI - Shell Game CI - Rickety Bridge CI - Bobbin's Brothers CI - Blind Leap A - Plok's House A - Garlen Beach A - Shell Game A - Venge Thicket A - Shell Game A - Dreamy Cove A - Womack Spider A - Crashing Rocks FP - High Flying LI - Sponge Rocks LI - Shell Game The Fastest Warp Path --------------------- The fastest way to warp to the end: Warp in Columns to Blind Leap, Blind Leap to Ploks House.... then the choice is yours: Warp from Dreamy Cove to go the Womack Spider, or wait until Crashing Rocks to go straight to High Flying in the Flea Pits, only 5 levels away from the Flea Queen. ============== 6. Characters **************** ============== Gershwin -------- This guy looks like a potato with blue hair hopping around, and he has no offensive tactics, except just to plain ol' bounce into Plok. One hit needed to kill. Gibson ------ A skeleton of a fish that lives in water, and jumps out of the water continuously. Invincible. Budd ---- Budd is a big pink and yellow flower with a mean little face that shoots Budd Lites everywhere to make it hard for Plok. 9 hits to kill. Budd Lite --------- The offspring of Budd. They are more dangerous, as they spit fire looking things and are invincible. Frogrose -------- Just like Budd Lite. Unfortunately, once again, invincible. Logs and Rocks -------------- Obstacles to test Plok's jumping skills. In Kid Play mode, they can be shot at. In Normal Play mode, they are invincible. Watch out in levels like Crashing Rocks, and Log Falls.... and especially a lot of levels in Legacy Island. They move pretty fast there. Rockyfella ---------- Disguised as a sign, Rockyfella will pop up and start shooting things at Plok. Beat him with 3 hits, and you get the temporarily-invincible-ruby. Jive Hive & Funky B.S --------------------- This hive is full of trouble, that will keep spewing out bees until you can kill the hive. 10 hits to kill the hive, 1 for the bees. Hattersly --------- Found in Dreamy Cove, this guy pops out to shoot stone like things at Plok. Shoot him once to send him back under water, but he will be back. Orson ----- Helps more then he hurts. He'll be upside down, shooting boomerangs until you shoot him - and send him right side up. He'll then turn into a temporary rocket platform Plok can jump on to and control to get to higher up parts of the level. Lasts for a short time. One hit to knock him over. Lily Mace --------- A mine/mace with flowers or ribbons on it. Some just float, others block Plok. One hit to move it, then quickly jump over it/run under it before it comes back. Shprouts -------- A green, jumping happy thing. When Plok shoots him, he'll become electrocuted. Hit him fast once again to kill him. You must shoot him again while he is electrified. There are different types of Shprouts as well. Shcuba Shprouts - Shrpouts in scuba gear. Shcuba Sheild Shprouts - Carries a shield. Beat him for a ruby. Shky Shcuba Sheild Shprouts - Scuba gear, and decked out with a parachute. Yellow Shprouts - When they fly, they will throw stuff. Blue Shprouts - Yet another. The Flea Family --------------- One big, happy, gross family. In the levels, when your hunting for the regular fleas, wait for a while, then an arrow will appear where the closest flea is. Regular Flea - These are the fleas above ground that are found in eggs. They jump around until you shoot them, they turn three colors of green before they die. 3 hits. Flying Fleas - In the Flea Pit, thse fly and are fast moving, but only take one hit. Spewing Fleas - Shoots blue stuff out of the top of his head. Just jumps around. 3 hits. Shooting Fleas - These guys are kind of scary. They shoot out of their 3 plunger things in their head. 3 hits. Drone Fleas - The Flea Queen's last protectors. Only in the final battle. 1 hit. ========== 7. Bosses *************** ========== Bobbin's Brothers ----------------- Found at the end of Cotton Island and Legacy Island. The trick to beating them, is to keep them together! Don't let them seperate. In Legacy Island there are 3 of them, so this can be hard to do. They spit stuff out, but if you keep a distance away and just keep shooting at them and switching sides as they jump, they'll be plok-ta-fied soon. Hits Needed: 9 per Brother Penkinos -------- These weird things are fun, but can be hard to beat. They are weird spotted magicians that float about dropping stars on Plok. They move slow at first. There are spiked walls, and hangers and targets. What you need to do is, wait until a Penkino gets in front of the spiked wall then shoot your limb at the target. This will make the wall thrust forward and pop the Penkino! Collect your limb and repeat four times for each Penkino. However, you may want to focus killing one Penkino at a time. Each time you hit them, they get faster and drop more stars. Popping them randomly will cause them all going haywire, very fast and dropping many stars. Thus makes them pretty hard to avoid. Womack Spider ------------- Acting fast is the key to this battle. He'll drop down a little, hit him fast or he'll charge the bottom of the screen! He'll begin to spin a web, shooting out his defenses while you try to dodge them. Shoot him, he'll loose a leg. Repeat until dead about 10-12 times. Rockyfella ---------- Yes, the weird Rock guy that bugged Plok all throughout his quest... and the same weird rock guy that even appeared to give Grandpappy Plok trouble. He'll try throwing rocks at you for a while, but shoot his hands before they do and they will go back into the ground. Stand in the middle and just keep shooting those hands. After a while he'll finally show the rest of himself and start shooting rocks. Shoot him before he comes up to make him do that funny ARRRG yell and plummit him back into the ground. What is with this guy anyway? 6 Hits The Flea Queen -------------- The final battle! She's really not that easy, it just all depends on your skill of being able to avoid things. She'll throw down to Drone Fleas, who you must kill and then she'll start throwing things while you have to hit her. She'll stay in place the whole time, but she's backed up pretty well. -------------------- 8. Game Genie Codes ***************** -------------------- From the www.world-of-nintendo.com, from Brian Kent. C26D-3D0D Woo hoo! Invincibility! F482-CDDD When the effects are on, Plok floats in the air and you can move him around, turn them off to let him drop. F468-CDDD When you jump around, you collect tons of shells out of nowhere, it messes the graphics up and you may get stuck. When you put the two codes above together and you turn the effects off and on, Plok can multi-jump!!! F48C-CFDD Weird jump, you jump as high as the spin jump. 23CC-CDDD Enemies and limbs are invisible. C288-3D6D When you shoot all of Plok's limbs, he doesn't bounce when you move to the right or left. 66CC-3D0C No logs 66CC-3F0C Logs roll in the opposite direction 66CC-3FDC Psycho Logs ----------- 9.
