I like to refer to it as “The Bubble Gum Blowing Pirates Game.” That name sums it up in a nutshell. It is an 2D side scrolling platformer that stars a pirate, who is named Storm Jaxon, in his quest to rid Westica of evil occupiers who force the Wesitcan population into slavery.. There are 7 total levels with four stages each. There are also some secret levels. As of version 1.00 I believe I have finished the walkthrough. While there are some secret areas I know I have yet to discover, I do not plan on looking for them, unless demand is there. If you are interested in the secret zones, please email me so I know the demand is there. I am open to your suggestions on how to beat a certain area or boss, so please submit it to me if you wish. This is not a final edition, but I have no intentions of updating, unless there are severe typos, changes that need to be made, or demand from fellow players to do so. ***Update!!!*** It has been more than ten years since I wrote this guide and I last played this game around the time I finished it. I still own the game and have ready access to it and my Super Nintendo and am still willing to help you if you have a question. I can't guarantee that I will get to you right away, as I will likely have to re-learn how to play the game. If you have questions, send them my way! A fellow by the name of Samuel Lemont recently e-mailed me a link to a webpage he created in which he has transcribed the entire text of the manual. This manual transcription will help you understand the story about what is going on and why. The original manual was more like a comic book and contained a lot of background for the characters as well as an entire story. You can find Samuel Lemon's page here: https://kahran042.dreamwidth.org/tag/sküljagger ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Controls (SKULCONT) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Directional pad moves you left and right when walking, up and down when flying with cherry bubble gum. Y swings your sword B makes your character jump A uses the current bubble gum in your inventory L and R blow a single bubble of gum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Items (SKULITEM) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Red Jewel: By possessing at least one red jewel, you will shoot a projectile along with each swing of your sword. These also add an extra amount of life to you. Red jewels disappear first when you are hit by an enemy. Having at least one means you can take an extra hit. Green Jewel: Gathering 25 of these leads to an extra life. By holding at least one jewel means you can take an extra hit before dying. Red jewels disappear first and then green jewels. Blue Jewels: These extend your time and work as continue places should you die. Mask: Grants invisibility and invulnerability. Fruit: This is covered in the Bubblegum practice section below. Rocks: These are gray lumps in the shape of a rock. They can be lifted and thrown at enemies or attacked to reveal items Coconuts: Formally and erroneously called ‘tree rocks’ these are orange and round, with three dots on them. Sometimes they reside in trees and will fall on you when you walk under. Like rocks, they can be picked up and thrown at enemies. If you attack them, even the falling ones, items will appear. Small barrel: These contain items if attacked and can be used as weapons by picking them up and throwing them at enemies. Small Box: These too can be used as projectiles. These also contain items when attacked. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Walkthrough (SKULWALK) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Press start at the title screen. From here you can select one or two players, bubblegum practice and password entry. Password entry only works if you have the passwords given to you at the end of each level. Select bubble gum practice if this is the first play though you have ever done. Here you will see all sorts of different types of fruit, each containing a different power. In order you will see: Orange, Grape, Cherry, Grape, Watermelon, Watermelon. These are the different abilities each provides: Grape: Provides a protective shell that kills enemies and gives super jumping power by holding the Up button each time you bounce. Lasts for 10 seconds. Cherry: Gives flying ability by repeatedly pressing A until a balloon forms. Continue pressing A to re-inflate the gum as it will deflate. Touching the top of the screen causes it to pop. Use the directional pad to move in the desired direction. Lasts for as long as you can keep it inflated. Watermelon: Turns you into a projectile that will fly around the screen, damaging any enemy on the screen that you come into contact with. Also allows you to gain items that you would not normally reach. It cannot be controlled and works best against bosses. Lasts for 7 seconds. Orange: Allows you to spit explosive items. You can usually get about 35 in before it runs out. It is timed from the first time you use it. Lasts for 8 seconds. Once you have practiced your bubble gum, press start to return to the options screen. Choose the number of players you wish and start the game. Chapter 1, Part 1: The Sword (SKUL1-1) “Crush that foolish Cockroach!” Skuljagger shouted, cupping his twisted mouth with both hands. I must have that sword back! I must!! Use the start button to pass the next two screens and you will be in the game. Start by attacking the box with your sword. A red jewel will pop out. Continue left, attacking the blue bug by crouching and swinging your sword. The second box contains a green gem. Take the ladder down to the next platform and move left after killing the enemy. Go down the next ladder halfway and stop. Wait until the bug on the left jumps then go down the rest of the way. Take these bugs out and move left to collect a green gem. Turn around and go right, pass the ladder and to the firs gap. Jump the gap and ignore the red jewel above it. To get it is difficult and will result in many deaths. Continue to the next ladder, killing every enemy you see. Go down the ladder to get two green gems and a box containing Grape gum. Go back up the ladder. On the right, an enemy will shoot darts at you. Be careful not to be hit by these. Leap over him and kill him. There will be another enemy just to the right. Get him then go back and get the box you just passed. In it will be cherry gum. You can use this to gain the red jewel you passed earlier, but only if you are good with controlling it. Continue to the right. Go past the ladder and take out the flying bug, Next will be a green jewel and a barrel containing another. Continue right and jump on the ladder and press up. Climb up and go left, killing all the enemies you see, clear to the first ladder you passed. Continue back to the right, climb the ladder and kill the first two enemies. On the big barrel is a small barren containing orange gum. Drop down the ladder and keep moving right. Leap the gap onto grass. Here is the first continue gem of the game, along with a box that has a red jewel in it. Grab them both. The rock contains a green jewel. It can also be picked up and thrown, but you will likely lose the jewel down a cliff if you do so. The next two enemies will shoot darts at you when the reach the edge so leap over them and attack them. Go across the bridge. There will be two enemies that shoot darts at you once they are in sight so jump the darts and take them out. At the end of the bridge is the second continue gem . The barrel contains a green gem. Drop down one level and take out the dart shooter. Keep dropping down and going to the right, taking out the three flying bugs. The barrel contains a green jewel. The box is empty. After the third bug, there will be a guy shooting darts at you from the right. He shoots two, pauses, shoots three, pauses again and then repeats. Wait for the first two to go by, jump the gap and get the cherry gum. From here you can kill him because the darts will be just above your head. Jump the next gap and you will be on a stone structure, by a brick wall. Here there will be many flying red insects that drop rocks on you. They can be killed by a swipe of the sword. The rocks can also be destroyed by attacking with a sword. The rocks bounce for a while then explode, so avoid them at all costs. The bugs come back if they are not destroyed. The first barrel contains a red jewel as does the second one. The one on the ledge conations orange gum. Keep moving right until you see a cannon. Out in the distance is a ship. Stand next to the cannon and hold the Up button. You will face the cannon. Press Y to fire cannon balls at the ship. You can fire one every second. Once you hit the ship 4 times, it will be destroyed and a 1-up will appear above you. Watch out because the ship fires back at you. Continue to the right. A green jewel exists in the barrel. More red bugs will drop rocks on you. Keep them at bay and you will come to a gap where you jump back to grass. Jump it and there will be another blue continue jewel. Immediately, flying bugs will come at you as well as the rock dropping ones from behind you if you did not vanquish them. Keep moving right until you see a floating wooden platform. Jump on it and it will take you up. Another one will come down from the sky when the current one is at its apex. Jump on it and you will go up again. When you reach the top, jump to the left and kill the flying bug. This is a secret area that has many green jewels in it and secret area. I find this way better that continuing right to complete the level normally. Grab the green jewels, jump across the hole with the box in it and there will be three red jewels. Underneath the third one is another floating platform which will take you back down to the place where the last continue gem was. Go back to the right side of the hole and drop into it. Eventually a green curtain will come up and you will be taken to the secret level of chapter 1. Chapter 1-Secret (SKUL1-S) Go left and get the red jewel out of the barrel. Turn around and go right. He next two barrels are empty. Jump to the stone walkway. At the end of the walkway will be a new enemy. This is a ninja like guy who does a somersault jump at times. He is predictable and easy so take him out fast, jump the next gap back to the grass and continue right. Two more ninjas will be waiting. After them is a column of three green jewels. After the small bridge, there will be what looks like Orange gum, but is actually a rock. Attack it and a green jewel will pop out. Grab it and watch out for the bear traps. Leap over every one of them and do not get close at all. The 4th one will move up and down so wait for it to do so before leaping over it. There will be a floating platform that takes you down. Jump to the left off the platform and there will be a ninja and two flying blue bugs. Keep going left and you will get to another column of three green jewels. Turn around and go back to the right. After some ninjas on a bridge, there will be a gap with a 1-up in the middle of it. There is a floating platform underneath it that you can land on. Jump right again and the big blue jewel marking the end of the level is there. Touch it and you are done. Chapter 1 Part 2: The Sword (SKUL1-2) “He’s in Roop’s warehouse!” a Kiltish sailor called. “Company Blitz, take the front! Company Ravage, the back! You will start in a warehouse full of large boxes and guys who swing chains. The box behind you when you start contains a red jewel if you slice at it. Move to the right and there will be a green jewel on the stack of boxes. Just after it are three guys that will hurt you. Take them out with your projectile. The torch contains a red jewel. Jump the gap, take out the guy, and jump the next gap for a green jewel in a box. Go left and climb up the chain. The box contains orange gum. Take the guy out and climb the smaller chain. Take the guy out and the next box will have a red jewel. The torch also has a red jewel in it. Jump to the right to grab it and fall back where the green jewel was. Go back and climb up again and this time take the long chain. Every two swings of his chain, the guy launches a skull. Time your ascent so that you won’t get hit by going up just as the projectile goes by. Take the guy out and jump to the to pf the stack of boxes. Here you can take out the guy on the level above you. Climb the chain on the right to get to a continue gem. Go left and take out the guy. The darker box will give a red jewel if swiped at. Turn around and go back to the right. The barrel on the table has grape gum. The first of the two torches after the gap can be destroyed to produce a red jewel. Bats will start to fly at you from the left now. Keep a steady pace and move right. Orange gum will be in the box on the shelf with the jars. A guy will come out of the stone doorway. Cherry gum is in the torch next to the doorway. Use this gum or the grape gum from earlier to go up. Here there will be several green jewels you can gather on the far left before you have to go right. Go down the stairs, watching out for bats. Drop down of the edge and you will land on stairs. Take the guy out and there will be another continue jewel. Move right and start going up the stack of barrels and take out the guy at the top. Go left and climb the chain. Stop on the left and get a red jewel out of the torch. Move to the right and use the chain to go up one level. Go far to the right and there will be a row of four green jewels. Grab these then drop back down using the chain. Continue to the left and jump up when you see the chain. Take the guy out and continue left. Jump over the guy on the level below you and grab onto the second chain (the longer one). Drop onto the first level and go all the way left. Climb the chain and go right. The torch has a red jewel. Jump up and move right. Take the guy out and drop down and go right. Drop down on the second chain and you will be on some barrels. Take the guys out on the left and then turn around and go right. The ending blue gem will be in the stone doorway. Chapter 1 Part 3: The Sword (SKUL1-3) “You’re crazy if you think you can steal Skuljagger’s sword!” Skuljagger cried, rushing through the steep streets of Tuscamesh. “You stinking Pond- Scum! Start by going right. The first box has a red jewel and the second a green. Watch out for bats coming from behind. Keep moving right until you see the sign “Pym’s Bakery” on a building. On the right of this building are some rope that you can climb. Use the small one to reach the long one. Be careful not to fall because the guys below come back. Kill the guy to get a green jewel. Drop back down to the ground and move along right. Kill the guy on the ledge then jump over it and kill the next two. Use the ripe to reach the small platform on the right then jump left to the roof for a red jewel. Drop back down and move right until you see a ladder. Climb up it. The guy on the ledge shoots three skulls them pauses. Leap up after the third one and swing at him as you fall back. Grab a hold of the ladder and climb back up. Move to the right and there will be a box with cheery gum. You can drop down and grab a hold of the pipe. There is grape gum on the right. Move to the right and there will be a blue continue gem. Ninja’s will come out of the doors on the two buildings. After killing them, use either the cherry gum or grape gum (depending on which one you got last) and get all the jewels that are on each level of the buildings (4 green, 2 red). Keep going right and get the grape gum un the barrel. Kill the guy on the ledge then use the rope to climb up to it. There will be three green jewels which can be obtained by climbing the rope on the right side of the platform. From here, drop down, kill the ninjas and jump on the platform. Jump back to the left and kill the projectile flinger. Then go back and climb the same rope and get on the top level. There will be three green jewels on the top. A floating platform will be on the right. Get on it and jump to the rock to get a red jewel. Drop straight off the right edge and you will land at the bottom of a hill. Be careful not to land on the red bug. A little bit to the right you will see another cannon and a blue dragon-like creature flying. He is harder to hit and the reward is less, but you can still try to take him out and gain a red jewel. Just after this is the end of the level. Grab the big blue gem and you are off to fight the boss. Chapter 1 Boss: The Sword (SKUL1-B) You will be presented with a few boxes and jewels. LEAVE THEM ALONE for now. Assuming you just got here, you should have several jewels left over from before. You want to leave these jewels so that if you get hit, you can grab these and live a little longer. The boss is on the far right. The second box has watermelon gum in it. You need it first. Grab it quickly and use it the instant you see the boss. It generally is good for 4 hits against the boss. He takes 12 total. After using the watermelon gum, you have to swipe at him with your sword. Swipe once and then run in the direction the boss is facing. He will throw a few axes and then chase you. When he gets close, attack him again and run. He will repeat this until the end of the screen. Here you will have to use your cunning and leap over him and lead him back the other way in the same fashion. He is pretty easy if you kill him this way. After he is defeated, there will be a big blue gem at the far right. Make sure to grab any jewels you left behind then grab the gem to move to chapter 2. The password you receive is “CRUEL MAN CRUEL BIRD” This will get you to chapter 2 via the password screen. Chapter 2 Part 1: The Revolution (SKUL2-1) “Tuscamesh Harbor was covered with wood from demolished jemerald crates. There’d be a real mess in the morning... That is, if they lived to see the morning. You start out on the deck of a boat. The first barrel contains a red jewel. Drop down and the small barrel contains watermelon gum. You can climb up into the sails of the ship or drop down below the deck. Keep moving right until you see a ladder going down, into the bowels of the ship. Climb down the ladder then use the pole to jump across the gap and go right. There will be an orange colored barrel that will give you a red jewel if swiped at. Go back to the pole and slide down it, being sure to avoid the guy shooting projectiles from the left. Move all the way to the left, until you get to the end of the screen with 9 sets of green jars. There are three green jewels in here if you swipe the middle left, bottom center and middle right. Turn around and go back right and climb back up to the deck of the ship. You’ll have to go back to the left after you get to the deck and climb up the rope that hangs down. Kill the ninja and the rat and climb the ladder. The barrel between the ninjas has a green jewel. Go left and climb up the ladder. Kill the rat and move right. Climb up the ladder and kill the bat and the rat. Drop back down and move to the right. Kill the ninja and the rat on the next level before grabbing the rope and climbing up. The barrel contains a green jewel and there will be a continue gem just after it. Keep going right until you reach the end. There will be a small floating platform which you can jump on. Jump on it and another one will reveal its self to the right. Jump on it and then you can jump onto another sail. There will be a rat on it just as you land so be careful. The barrel next to the tall ladder contains a green jewel. Take the ladder up. There will be a ninja who does a spinning jump. Time it so he is the farthest to the left when you reach the apex of the ladder. Jump to the right and slice him before you land. There will be three green jewels behind the ninja. The barrel contains cherry gum and three more green jewels exist just to the right. Return left and go back down the ladder. Continue right and you will eventually be able to jump back down onto the deck of the ship. After a few enemies, you will reach the end of the level gem. Chapter 2 - Part 2: The Revolution (SKUL2-2) “Storm dropped straight down into the deepest part of the ship, and tumbled to the damp floor, gasping for breath. ‘Snap-rats!’ he shouted, leaping to his feet. You are on the deck of another ship. The first barrel contains watermelon gum. Use the ladder and the pole to drop down as far as you can go. The ninja in the left corner drops a green jewel and the barrel on the right has a red one. After grabbing these, climb back up the pole to the next level and go left. Go down the ladder and kill the two ninjas. The one on the right has a green jewel he leaves behind. Use the pole to go down another level, watching out for the rats on the floor. The two green jars on the left each have a green jewel in them when swiped at. There will be an invisible mask on top of some colored boxes. Grab it and quickly go right as far as you can, ignoring all enemies (they cant hurt you when you wear the mask). There will be a continue gem you can grab. Shortly after there will be a ninja up against some green boxes. Kill him. In the small box is a red jewel. Go back to where the continue gem was and climb the pole up. Use it to launch you up one extra level and go right (the box to the right contains grape gum). Climb the next pole and go right. Ninjas will drop down from the holes in the ceiling. Climb the pole up and then the ladder and you will be at the end of the level. Grab the giant gem and proceed to the next phase. You can drop down the final hole before the pole to get a jewel and cherry gum. You need the gum to go back up to the previous level so only do this if you are well practiced with gum (the gum re-pops every time you get near it so dont worry if you cant get it working right on the first few tries). Chapter 2 - Part 3: The Revolution (SKUL2-3) “’There’s one!’ a Kiltish warrior shouted, turned to follow storm through the darkened streets of Tuscamesh. Dont let that vermin escape! Start by going right. The barrel contains a green jewel. Watch out for the orange rock in the tree above and the guy who comes from behind you right when you reach it. It gives you a green jewel if you attack it before it falls. There will be several more as you descend a hill. When you reach the bottom, climb the rope to the top. The guy on the top level drops a green jewel. Go right and jump on the floating platform. Jump on the next one and you will reach a rock formation with three red jewels. Drop off the right side and fall down to a roof top. Be careful of the guy. Go left to reach a continue gem then turn around and go right. The rock in the tree gives a green jewel. Wait for each bug to fly by before going down the hill side. There will be another cannon and a blue dragon in the distance. This is a hard one to hit and the reward is only orange gum. Continuing right, you will go up a hill with blue bugs jumping towards you. These are hard to avoid. It is best to run down the hill in front of them and kill them at the bottom. At the top of the hill is a continue gem. The first coconut has a green gem in it. There will be a second cannon just to the right. Out in the distance is a rather ugly blue guy (which you could see if you fell down the hole at the last part of the second stage). He takes many hits and will give you a red jewel if you defeat him. Continue moving right and you will find more buildings. Use the ropes and get to the top. There will be watermelon gum and a red jewel here. Continue right and use the ropes to drop down. You will be at the end now. Be careful because there will be a coconut that falls down just before the big blue gem. Destroying this brings a red jewel. Grab the ending gem and get ready for the next boss. Chapter 2 - Boss: The Revolution (SKUL2-B) When you get into the level, two coconuts will fall instantly. They are hard to avoid but will leave two green jewels. There will be a rat and two more coconuts before the boss. There is also orange gum, but save it until you use your watermelon you gained in the last stage. This boss is a giant rat. Once he is on screen, use your watermelon gum to get 3-4 free hits on it. He takes 20 hits. There is another watermelon and a red jewel behind him. Using both watermelon gums takes him down to only a few hits (usually 5-6). From here you just have to use brute strength and luck. If the orange is still there, us it. You can leap over it when it is moving towards you. You can also kill it by attacking it and running, just like the previous boss. The password you get it: CLAW IS MEAN DOCK Chapter 3 - Part 1: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-1) “’Quiet!’ Wits whispered, leading them into the dense Westican Jungle. ‘Kiltish Patrols are everywhere. If we’re too loud, we’ll be ambushed for sure. Star by going right. You will immediately run into a new enemy. This one is a red bore. He will jump when he gets close to you. The first two coconuts contain a red and green jewel, respectively. Keep moving along and you will see another bore. There will be a second one attack from behind. Kill them both and swipe at the coconut to get a green jewel. Jump on the platform and go up. You will see that giant face from previous levels, but you can’t do anything to it. Ignore it for now and keep going. There will be another floating platform. Ride it down then walk up the hillside. As you continue, you will see a few coconuts, a regular rock and one coconut on the ground. Destroy everything except the last coconut. Crouch down one pace to the left of the coconut (the orange one, not the gray one) and hold the down button for a few seconds. A green curtain will rise up and you will be transported to the secret level. If you don’t want to go to the secret level, lump over everything and leap the gap to continue on as normal. After leaping the gap, you will see a continue gem on the rock. Grab it and keep moving. There will be a couple of bugs and projectile shooters, but it isn’t anything too difficult. When you go to jump back onto dirt, there will be a bore that charges you, so be ready. If you kill the coconut in the tree just before the small hillside, you can receive grape gum. Continuing on, there will be a continue gem just before more rock platforms. The guy on the first platform can be killed if you move to the very edge of the dirt and swing your sword. Move up and right then jump on the floating platform and go left. There will be another platform to take you back to the right, but be sure you get the green jewel first. You’ll jump back onto the dirt and drop down a level. There will be some cherry gum on the nose of a statue of that blue face you’ve seen all level (you can see him here too). If you press up several times, another green curtain will come up and you will go to the second secret zone of the level. Again, if you don’t want to go to the zone, just keep walking. Keep going right. You will see a double statue and then a triple statue of the blue face guy. Right as you see the triple statue, he will appear in front of you. Now you have to kill him. He takes several hits but is very easy. When he jumps, you can swipe 3-4 times. He moves slow so move back a little bit and get him again. You should be able to beat him in his third jump. There will be a red jewel then the ending gem. Chapter 3 - Secret: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-S1) This zone is quite different from any of the others. Start by going right and you will see a small mound of dirt spitting rocks up in the bottom of a hole. You can attack the rocks, but they give you nothing. Time your jump and leap over it and continue on. There will be another one up the next hill and down the next slope. Go past it and down the next hill. There will be a red jewel and the ending gem will be right next to it. Chapter 3 Secret 2: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-S2) You start out with three green jewels right in front of you followed by another three before there is a floating platform. Ignore the platform for now and leap across the gap for six more and the ending gem. You can end now or go back and ride the platform up. If you ride the platform up, go left. There will be a green jewel flying at you. Continue left and you will find another one. You will eventually run into a bat. Go back to the first platform and go to the right this time. Again there will be a few jewels flying at you. You should have about 15 green jewels now. Ride the third platform up and you will find a red one. Watch out for the bats. Jump up then down and you will get two more on each level. Thats the end, so go back to the blue gem and return to the level. Chapter 3 - Part 2: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-2) “The alarm bell sounded throughout Skuljagger’s prison. ‘There he is!’ shouted a black-mask. And hes got the captains sword! You start in another warehouse looking building. The two torches around the door give green jewels. Climb the ladder and you will be able to get 4 green jewels and a red one that pops up after swiping at the barrel. Go back down and continue right until you see stairs. The torch above the two chairs just before the stairs gives a red jewel. Keep moving right and you will see some stairs going down. On a ledge just above the 4th stair is a barrel that gives a green jewel. Continue moving right. You will come up to some door ways with bars across them. In between each doorway is a torch. The first one gives you a green jewel and the second one a red jewel. Just beyond that is a blue continue jewel. Leap the gap and then wait for the floating box to appear. Jump on it and then the next one to clear the gap. The first Ninja gives you a green jewel and the barrel contains watermelon gum. Watching out for bats that attack from the left, continue right until you see another floating box. Use it to go up a level. The barrel has grape gum and the two torches contain green jewels. You will come to another descending stairway with a ledge over it. Again the second barrel contains a green jewel. There will be another ledge a at the bottom. These barrels contain orange gum and a green jewel, respectively. The next barrel ledge has orange gum in the second barrel and a green jewel in the next ledges second barrel. A blue continue gem will be in front of a chain. Be careful because the box on the level above you will fall when you get under it. Climb the chain and watch out for another falling box. Climb the second chain and kill the bat and guy on that level. Fall off the right edge and attack the torch to get a red jewel. Climb back up and continue on. Watch out for two falling boxes on the next chain. There will be watermelon gum off the next ledge if you attack the torch on the right. Just climb back up and get it. The torch on this ledge contains a red jewel. Climb up the next to levels and get some watermelon gum on the right, on top of the barrels. Now you have to turn around and go left. This will be the end of it as the big blue gem is in sight. You can jump pass it and attack the torch on the other side for cherry gum. Grab the gem and move on to part 3. Chapter 3 - Part 3: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-3) “’Take the short-cut across the piers, Storm,’ his father said, ‘and tell every able-bodied fighter in Tuscamesh to prepare for battle! Star out by going right and jumping onto the platform. Crouch immediately. There is a skull flinger on the right. If you have a red jewel, hit him with your projectile, otherwise time it so you don’t get it and take him out. He leaves a green jewel. Next is a very long jump so build up some steam. When you make the jump, there will be another skull flinger that can be killed for a green jewel. Next, jump onto the platform and kill the skull flinger with your projectile or time it so you don’t get hit. Then ride up and jump left to the wooden bridge. Jump on the first set of barrels you see and kill the guy above you. You can jump straight onto this level so disregard the ladder on the left. You’ll see a coconut on the barrel next to the ladder. Stand on the right side of it and press up several times and it will transport you to another secret zone. Move right and climb the barrels. There will be a ladder at the top with a ninja dancing around it. There will also be a blue continue gem on the far right, just past the barrier. While you can’t get there, you can swipe at it and gather it with your sword. Do this before climbing the ladder. Kill the ninja above you by jumping then climb the ladder. Jump to the right onto the platforms and keep going right until you reach another stack of barrels (you should be jumping lots of gaps). The small barrel contains nothing. Climb the barrels, kill the ninja and climb the ladder and go left. Climb the next ladder and go up. The small barrel contains watermelon gum. Jump on the barrels and kill the ninja above you before climbing up the ladder. Climb to the top and go to the right. You’ll jump back onto grass soon and there will be a continue gem there. The hole has a bear trap that floats up when you jump it, so fool it by jumping a quarter of the way and then returning and wait for it to return before you leap for real. There will be some blue bugs that fly at you from behind so keep an eye out for those as you continue right. Use the platform and drop down along the small patches of grass until you see a stone walkway. There will be a cannon just a few steps later. Again, you will be firing at a ship. This time the ship has better accuracy and gets many shots off to your one. It takes three hits to kill it and the reward is a red jewel. Continue right and you will see another cannon and ship. This ship is farther out and is harder to hit. Again, it takes three hits and the reward is a red jewel. Continue right. The small barrel contains cherry gum. Keep moving right and you will end up on grass again. There will be a hole with another bear trap in it. This time there is a green jewel just above it. It is best to ignore it, but it can be retrieved by standing next to the trap and swiping at it. Jump over this the trap same way as before. There will be several more of these, one with a ninja and red bug on the other side. Swing at them before you land and you should be able to kill them without getting hurt. Continue right and you will be at the ending gem. Grab it and get ready for the next boss. Chapter 3 Secret 3: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-S3) This one looks similar to the second secret zone at first. Go right and you will see a mount of dirt throwing rocks into the air as well as a floating platform. Jump over the rocks and continue right where you will see another floating platform. Jump left and over the rocks and you will get back to the first platform. Use it to continue left. You will find a red jewel here. Go back to the first platform you used and go right this time. There will be a green jewel floating around a rock shooter. There will be another platform that comes up and you can use it to go right and get on the next level. There will be a green jewel here. If you drop down off the right side, you will land on the ending gem. Chapter 3 - Boss: Skuljaggers Prison (SKUL3-B) There will be three boxes to your right. The contain, from left to right, cheery gum, red jewel, green jewel. Leave all of these alone for now if you have jewels and gum (you should keep the watermelon gum from before). The boss is the same guy you fought in level one, but this time he is faster and not as predictable. This time he has a knife instead of axes. His reach is long and he will attack you when you attack him with your sword. Your best bet is to grab a red jewel (there are three in this level) and attack him from a distance. Use the stack of two barrels to jump to the other side of him. He will come after you in you go to one of the edges. He takes about 20 hits to defeat, so this is by far the hardest boss yet. The password you get is BIG WILD ANGRY FLY Chapter 4 - Part 1: The War Begins (SKUL4-1) “’Everyone meet at the lighthouse!’ Storm shouted, as he zigzagged through the alleys of Tuscamesh. And bring all the weapons you gave! Start by going right. The first ninja you see will give you a green jewel. Use the first rope to climb onto the small roof and then jump back to the left onto the larger roof. Go left and there will be two red jewels at the end, just above where you started. Grab them and continue right. The barrel just after the rope contains orange gum. There will be a ninja that comes out of the door of the house. Jump up and keep going up using the roof tops. There will be a red jewel on top. The next roof has a ninja and another red jewel followed by a second ninja and third jewel. Drop down off the roof and the barrel contains cherry gum. Keep moving right and you will see a small barrel on top of a big barrel that contains grape gum. Stand in front of the barrel and press Y a few times to be transported to a secret level (Secret 4-1). Just keep moving if you don’t want to do this level. Keep moving right and you will see two ropes, one higher than the other. You can climb these to the roof top and get three green jewels. Make sure to wait for the 4-5 guys to come from behind you before climbing up. Drop down and keep going right. You will go down a hillside and find cherry gum at the bottom. There will be another cannon coming up with a blue dragon in the background. Press up to use the cannon and press up twice to move it to its highest position. One hit will kill it and give you orange gum as a reward. Continue right and there will be a second cannon. Move it to the middle position. One hit kills it and gives you a red jewel. Move right and go up the hill. You will be in front of some buildings. There will be some guys through flaming darts at you. Use your projectile to kill them. Watch out for flying red bugs coming in from behind you at a quick pace. You can climb the pipe or just jump to reach each level. Eventually you will come to the blue finishing gem. There will be one final red bug who comes at you from behind, so watch out. Grab it and move on to the next stage. Chapter 4 - Secret 1: The War Begins (SKUL4-S1) You start out with a lizard wielding a sword coming at you. Kill him. If you have cherry gum, you can use it to fly up to the next level. Otherwise move right and you will eventually find the ending gem, after several more lizards. Using the cherry gum to fly, there will be three green jewels on the first level. Go to the right edge and wait for the floating platform to show up. Ride it and then jump to the next level. This one has two green jewels and one red jewel. Continue right in the same fashion. This time there will be two floating platforms that lead to a level with two green and one red jewel. There will be one platform and the same jewels again. Drop down the right side to hit the ending gem and you will return to stage 1 of chapter 4. Chapter 4 - Part 2: The War Begins (SKUL4-2) “Storm knew that the Wesitcan army was in a bad position, with the ocean behind the,... and the mighty Kiltish army in front. ‘Everyone into battle position! You start out with some stone pillars behind you. A snake resides on top of one. Jump up and kill it. You will see that there are some jewels above the pillars but you cannot reach them. Go to the far left and swipe at the pillar to reveal cherry gum. Use it to get the jewels above the pillars (two red and two green). Go right and wait for the floating platform to appear before jumping on it and killing the snake on the other side. Keep moving right in this fashion until you reach a permanent stone walkway. There will be a snake here that shoots something at you, so take it out before it can with your projectile. Keep going right and you will drop down a few steps and meet a ninja. Kill him and continue on. You will now be on a sandy beach with palm trees. A ninja comes from behind you once you pass the trees. There will be a patch of grass coming up soon. Once you reach it, there will be several ninjas that attack from behind. Take them out and keep trekking right. When you see the blue face pop up in the back, there will be a ninja that attacks from both directions. There will also be a green bird that drops a coconut on you. Be sure to avoid this. Keep going right, with an eye out for ninjas and birds. Once you start to see a small incline, there will be a jumping blue bug that comes after you. Kill it and move on. At the top of the incline a bird jumps out at you and drops a coconut. You will come to more stone walkways in a second. Once there you will be attacked from behind by several ninjas. Take them out and move right to grab the first continue gem of the level. If you have cherry gum, fly up and grab all the jewels above the pillars again. Keep going right and you will be back on sand again. There is another hill with an array of enemies on it. When you get near the top, there will be a flying blue bug that comes from the left VERY fast. He flies over and returns in your direction. Take him out before he gets you. He moves very fast, so watch out. Keep moving right and you will go down a hill. There will be a small gap with a tree on either side and three red jewels above it. You cannot reach the jewels out right. There will be a platform that eventually comes into view in the gap. Jump into the gap and fall directly down the middle of it to land on it. This platform will take you up just high enough to get all the jewels. The tree on the right side contains orange gum if attacked. Keep moving right. There will be three snakes and a bird that launches another coconut at you. Kill the snakes and avoid the bird and there will be another continue gem. Grab it and then jump onto the platform. There will be a flying blue bug just before you land on each platform. The second platform will feature another fast one coming at you from behind, so turn around and take it out before moving on. Wait until the 4th one is at its apex before jumping back onto the stone. There will be a ninja that attacks instantly. Next there will be a cannon and the blue face floating around. Move the cannon to its middle position and attack the face. Watch out for the ninja on the right. It takes 2 hits and provides a red jewel. Move right, There will be a snake sitting on a step. Just as you approach it, a bird will dive bomb you. Take it out fast. Return right and jump over the snake. He will bite at you and there is another one two steps below. You will then go up an incline. At the top is a snake and another dive bombing bird. Kill them and move right. Drop down off the edge and you will land on another stone walkway. You will meet another giant blue faced creature. Kill him as he jumps towards you. He takes several hits. Move right and you will find the ending gem and move on to part 3. Chapter 4 - Part 3: The War Begins (SKUL4-3) “’I’m going in,” Storm said, gazing up at the ancient lighthouse. ‘Someone’s got to take care of those black-mask snipers--now!! You start out in another warehouse looking area with a rat coming directly at you. Crouch down and take car of him. The box on the table contains a red jewel. Move right and you will see some stairs. The torch above the third stair contains cherry gum. When you reach the top, there will be two doorways separated by a stack of barrels. The box on the top barrel contains orange gum. Ninjas will come out of the door on the right. Move right and you will find a ladder. Climb up it and jump off the top to the left. Move left and go up the stairs, watching out for the ninja halfway up. At the top there will be two rats. There are also boxes on a ledge that fall when you walk under them. They all contain green jewels. There will be a stack of barrels that lead up to a floating platforms. Before climbing the barrels, go to the far left and swipe at the bottom left one to reveal a red jewel. Now climb up and use the platform to jump to the next level and move right. Go up the stairs, watching out for the ninja halfway up. The torch above the fifth step contains a green jewel. Go right when you reach the top and you will come to two barrels with a torch above and a rat next to them. Kill the rat then turn around because two ninjas will come at you from the left. The torch contains a red jewel. Climb the ladder once you see it. Take the ninja out on the right and jump over there. There will be cherry gum in the barrel if you swipe at it. Jump back to the left side and move left. The box on the table contains a green jewel and the one on the barrel has watermelon gum. It is a good idea to grab it because the boss is coming up. Go up the stairs and jump on the floating box to ride up to the next level. Climb the stairs, taking out the ninjas. There will be orange gum in the box on the second barrel. There will be a continue gem between two support beams. The ninja on the right side of the gem has a green jewel he drops when killed. Ride the box up and jump to the left. Moving left, you will come to some stairs. Climb them and there will be a ninja halfway up. There will also be three bats flying at you from the right. Take everything out and continue on up the stairs. There will be a ladder that you need to climb. Go up it and go to the right. Keep moving right. The second ninja after the second white pillar contains a green jewel. The ending gem will be in sight, right after a few barrels. Using the barrels, jump over the gem and the two torches on the other side will have a red jewel and orange gum. Grab the gem and get ready for the boss. Chapter 4 - Boss (SKUL4-B) This boss is a couple of two headed dogs like creatures. The are at the bottom of the stairs. If you have a projectile, move to the bottom of the stairs and use your projectile over and over and jump back up the stairs the instant you see the boss come at you. Use your watermelon gum or orange gum if you have it. The first two are easy to kill and take only a few hits. There will be two in the middle of the screen and another watermelon gum. Grab it and use it. There will be two more on the far right. Get up the stairs and use your projectile to take them out. If you have to projectile, stand with your toe on the very edge of the wood and crouch down. Swing your sword over and over and you will eventually hit them when they come your way. They do not reach the top of the stairs so you will be safe. They bounce down a stair every time they are hit so you must move closer after striking them. Never drop down off the very top step. Just keep swinging and you will be able to beat them There is a cherry in the window on the left where you start if you swipe at it. The blue finishing gem appears on the right. Grab it to move to chapter 5. FLY HOME LAZY SWORD is the password you receive. Chapter 5 - Part 1 :The Trip to Urnum “Storm, Wits and Trina sneaked past the Kiltish guards, trying not to make a single sound. Quiet! Trina said, Someones following us. You start out in between two rocks that give you a green jewel and red jewel, respectively. Start moving right and use the floating platform to jump up a level on the left. Move in this fashion until you reach one with a rock on it. It contains a green jewel. Now start moving right. Watch out for a bird that drops a coconut. The next rock you see contains a green jewel. Keep moving right, avoiding the birds and the coconuts. There will be another rock with a green jewel in it. Jump on the platform and ride it up and move left. Use the next one and move right. Be sure to drop down one level and get the red jewel before going up again. Eventually you will come to a stone walkway. There will be a continue gem just after the blue face floating in the background. You will come to a sandy incline next. There will be dart shooters that crouch down before shooting so they still hit you, even if you are crouched. The best way to go about it is to jump as soon as you see them, navigate your way around the dart and attack them once you land. Next you will come to a gap with a red jewel above it that you cannot reach. You an drop down the hole, in the direct center and land on a floating platform that will rise up so you can grab the jewel. Continue right and there will be a decline with several snakes in it. There will be a few snakes towards the bottom that have their heads down, making it impossible to attack them when higher than they are. There were two coconuts you just passed by. Use these to throw at the snakes you cannot kill with your sword (stand over them and press and hold Y) Keep moving right. You’ll come to a continue gem just before a large gap. This is the biggest gap yet and you cannot see the other side until you jump. This jump takes some time but since the continue gem is right there, it isn’t too much of a concern. Gather some steam and leap. There will be a guy charging you once you land so take him out fast. Keep moving right. There will be three pillars with some jewels at the top. There are two rocks in the background, one on the left of the first pillar and one on the left of the third pillar. These provide orange and grape gum, respectively. Use the grape gum to bounce up and grab the jewels. Next you’ll drop down some steps and then go up an incline. The ending gem will be there, right under a level with a guy who throws flaming darts at you. Avoid them and grab the gem. Chapter 5 - Part 2: the Trip to Urnum (SKUL5-2) “They walked through the pitch-dark jungle, alert to every sound. Too many travelers here had ended up as dinner for hungry blade backs. Start out and go left. There will be a large boulder behind the vegetation in the background. Swipe at it and you will get a red jewel. Turn around and go right. The first boar gives you a green jewel. When you get to the floating platform, three boars attack you from behind and one drops a green jewel. Use the platform to go up and jump left onto the level. There will be a coconut that falls during the first jump, so watch out for it. It gives you a green jewel if you attack it. There will be several blue bugs flying at you during this time. When you get to the far left, another floating platform will appear and you can use it to jump up and right. There will be a coconut in the tree next to the third platform that will give you a red jewel if attacked. Go left and take the platform up. When you land on the level, there will be a fast moving blue bug that flies in at your ankles. You have to either crouch and attack or jump over it. He moves fast and will likely get you before you get him, so try and jump over him. There will be another one on the next level and again on the third level. Jump off the level onto dirt and there will be a continue gem located here. The coconuts on the ground have a green jewel, grape gum and watermelon gum. The two in the tree have a green jewel each. Drop down and you will see a bear trap on a level just below you. Jump past it and press right as mush as you can. There are three you have to jump over. There will be a boar who charges you once you land. He drops a green jewel when killed. There will be a large gap you have to clear. Once you do, there will be a flying blue dragon-type creature that drops coconuts. Kill him fast. The coconut on the ground provides a green jewel as does the boar just to the right. Use the floating platform to jump across. The coconuts give a red jewel and green. The plat at the right edge will give orange gum if swiped at. There is also a blue coconut dropper here. Keep moving right. There will be a platform up against a tree. Jump on it and land on the rock level. There will be a coconut that falls that gives you a green jewel. During the second jump, the coconut that falls gives you grape gum. The third jump sees a blue coconut dropper flying at your face as well as a green jewel carrying coconut falling. Use the platform and jump up. There will be a continue gem just before the dirt walkway. Keep moving right and you will see a large hole. Fall into this and hug the left wall. There will be a bear tap at the bottom and also some cherry gum, which is needed. Get the cheery gum and fly up to the rock levels that were just above you. Grab all the jewels and move right. The boar contains a green jewel and you will see another giant blue face guy. Take him out. Remember that you can jump onto the rock level you just left if you need to. Move right. You will drop down into another hole. Jump out of it and keep moving. Watch out for the plethora of coconut droppers. There will be another blue faced guy you have to defeat. Move right and you will finding the big ending gem. Grab it and move to stage 3. Chapter 5 - Part 3: The Trip to Urnum (SKUL5-3) “’Let’s get out of here,’ Storm said, glancing around the ruins of the ancient Urnumite fort. This place definitely gives me the creeps. The coconut in front of you contains a red jewel. There are a few lizard men, one in front and two in back. Kill them and move right. There will be a cannon with two blue dragons flying this time. Put the cannon on the middle position (Press up) and take them out. The first one gives a red jewel and the second one grape gum. This is tough, so feel free to walk right past it. You will come to a rock shooting mound with two green jewels above it. Grab them, time your jump and get by it. There will be another one, sans the jewels next. Keep moving right, kill the lizard man and grab the continue gem. Keep going right, taking out the lizard men. When you jump to the stone walkway, there will be a green bird that dive bombs you immediately. Move to the right. The rock contains cherry gum. When you see the blue face come up from behind the wall, a blue bug will fly in from behind very fast. Be ready for it and take it out once you see it. Move right and the blue face will be there to attack. When you attack the blue face and move left to avoid being crushed, lizard men will come from the left to get you. Keep an eye out for them and take them out as soon as you see them. The ending gem will be just beyond. Grab it and prepare for the boss. Chapter 5 - Boss The Trip to Urnum (SKUL5-B) This boss is a giant green dragon. He flies in at you and will quickly do a dive bomb. There are three green jewels, one at the far right and two hidden in the squares with faces on them. Swipe at them to reveal them. There is cherry gum on the right which can be used to fly up to the top and you can grab a red jewel. Use it to fly to the far right and you can grab grape gum. Use the grape gum and repeatedly attack the dragon. You can also attack it with the watermelon gum from before, if you still have it. This boss will fly away for a while once hit and will come in at different angles. He takes several hits, but not as many as other bosses. When you get the grape gum, go to the middle of the screen and wait for the boss to fly in from the right (so he is moving right to left). Once you see him, activate the gum and jump. You will hit him and he will turn around and you can hit him again before you fall. He will turn around again and you can hit him again with a new jump. Keep doing it in this fashion. The dragon will stay pretty much in one spot and will not leave and you can kill him with one use of the grape gum. There also is a hidden red jewel in addition to the one at the top of the screen. Go to the center and crouch down. Swing wildly at the dirt area and a red jewel will pop up. There is no boss password this time so prepare for chapter 6. Chapter 6 - Part 1: The Lost City (SKUL6-1) “Storm scrambled down the rocks and sprang onto the streets of the lost city of Urnum. ‘Ghosts!’ he cried, as long streams of white smoke began to scream and spin. You start out in a similar area to chapter 5-3 and the last boss area. The rock contains a green jewel. There is a hidden cherry in the column that is turned on its side. Use it to fly up and grab the red jewel. Keep flying to the left and you will find a level with a lizard man on it. Land here. There will be four lizard men, each on his own level to the right that drop a green jewel. Kill them all and jump to the stone walkway on the right. Use the platform and go up. There will be a rock that contains cherry gum. A coconut dropper will fly in and drop coconuts on you. Keep moving right. Watch out for the snake on the elevated platform. When you get to the edge, there will be a floating platform that you can ride down on. Go left and ride down the next platform, keeping an eye out for the white ghosts. Move right and drop down another level by riding the platform down. There will be another one on the left. Keep moving down in this manner. There will be a rock that contains orange gum. You’ll eventually come to a blue continue gem. There will be a floating platform to the right which you can ride to continue right. There will be two more you have to jump on before you reach the next stone walkway. Go right then use the platforms to go up. You will eventually see a green tadpole looking thing that cannot be killed by your sword. You can pick up a rock to get it, or better yet, just ignore it. The rock contains cherry gum. Move up one level and the lizard man will drop a green jewel. You will see a floating platform that has a second platform come down when it is at its apex. Ignore the second platform for now and jump to the level on the left. There will be a rock shooter here and just beyond it, a continue gem. Grab the gem then go back to the platform and continue moving up. Jump off to the right and continue moving right. The first boar you see will give you a green jewel. Eventually you will come to the large blue ending gem. Grab it and prepare for part 2. Chapter 6 - Part 2: The Lost City (SKUL6-2) “They sprinted down the ancient streets of Urnum. ‘That must be the royal palace, up ahead!’ Wits shouted. ‘I’ll bet that’s where all the weapons are! Start by going up the include. The two small squares with faces have cheery gum and a red jewel, respectively. The lizard man drops a green jewel. Use the cherry gum to fly up and you will see several levels and floating platforms. Use them to go right and you will eventually come to a level with 4 green jewels and a ghost. Jump down and to the right. You should land on the top of some columns. Drop down again and you will see three boars. All three drop a green jewel. Grab the jewels and move right. You will come to a rock and a continue gem. The rock has watermelon gum. Grab both and keep moving right. You will start to drop down several small levels. There will be many flying blue bugs that fly in at your feet. Jump over them and drop down one level to kill them. Jump the gap to another stone walkway. There will be a green jewel and some ghosts that fly up from under your feet. They come in fast so be ready for them. Keep moving right. There will be some rock dropping red bugs and a lot of ghosts flying up from below. You’ll come to a red jewel and then a floating platform. Keep moving. When you jump onto the platforms, ghosts and red bugs will come at you. Avoid them, kill them if you can and jump right. There will be a continue gem there. Next will be an incline. The lizard man at the top drops a green jewel and the rock has a red one. Grab them and jump on the floating platform. Move right and jump onto the next stone walkway. The lizard man at the top has a green jewel. Go back to the incline and there will be a floating platform. Jump on it and move up. Jump off at the first stone walkway and move right. The ending gem is at the end of the walkway. Watch out for the ghosts that perch over you and drop down on your head. Grab the gem and prepare for part 3. Chapter 6 - Part 3: The Lost City (SKUL6-3) “’It’s the weapons room!’ Storm said, stopping short. ‘We found it!’ He smiled as he gazed into a room filled with ancient plasma-blasters. You start in another warehouse looking stage. The torch in the middle of the gap has a red jewel and the first lizard man has a green one. Keep moving to the right. Watch out for the rocks that fall off the faces in the wall. Ignore the platform for now and jump the gap. The rock contains a green jewel. Move back to the left and take the platform up. Jump off to the right. Keep moving right. Ignore the floating box and jump the gap. Leap the three tadpoles and you will see two rocks. One has a green jewel and one has orange gum. Go back to the left and take the floating platform up and jump off to the left. There will be two torches next to two faces in the wall. Look for the second set of these. The left torch has grape gum. Keep moving left. Take the floating platform up. Jump off to the left and there will be a continue gem. Go back to the right now. The first rock you see on the ground contains a green jewel as does the second one on the ground. Next you will see two torches above what look to be two machine guns resting against the wall. The second torch contains orange gum. Continue moving right. There are very few enemies in this area. Eventually, you will come to a floating box. There will be two torches on the wall just past the box. These contain a red jewel each. Watch out for the many ghosts that flood the area. Keep moving right (ignoring the platform) and you will see another two torches containing two more red jewels. There will be another platform and another torch. The torch contains Watermelon gum. The ending gem is here. Grab it and prepare for the boss. If you ride the platform up, you can get one green jewel, but there are several ghosts you have to deal with, so it is best to continue on to the boss. Chapter 6 - Boss: The lost City (SKUL6-B) You start out with 5 ghosts charging at you. Use your watermelon gum to kill them. There is more on the ground that you will grab once you activate it. Jump off to the left and grab the red jewel as you fall. The boss is a giant ghost. He is fairly easy to beat. Use the watermelon when you see him. He will spit out small ghosts, up to 5 at one single time. He will follow after you where ever you go so lead him in one direction, jump up and attack him. By jumping, he stays high enough that you can run under him when you get to the wall. Lead him back and forth in this manner and you will kill him pretty fast. The ghosts stay with him for the most part. When he is dead, some of his ghosts remain. Watch out for them and grab the ending gem as fast as you can. There will be cherry gum in the middle of the screen, in between the two stacks of feed sacks. Grab the gem and move to the next chapter. Chapter 7 - Part 1: The Final Battle (SKUL7-1) “’Storm!’ Coe Jaxon said. ‘Turn around and get those battleships! If we can sink them, we have a chance of pushing the Kiltish back! You start out back on the docks. A blue bug will fly at you instantly. Start going right by jumping on the platform. The rock contains a red jewel. Continue right. There will be two more platforms. When you land, there will be two rocks that contain a green jewel each. When you see the grassy patch with a dart shooter on it, turn left because a bug will fly at you from behind. Take it out then the dart shooter and start moving on. When you see the floating platform, ignore it and kill the bug. On the far right of the screen will be a grassy walkway that you can jump to. Jump onto it and move right. There will be a rock resting onto of a large boulder in the background. Both will give you a red jewel if swung at. There will be a torch thrower and then a floating platform. Use the platform to get to the net walkway. There will be a small hole with another large boulder in it. It gives you watermelon gum if struck. Keep moving right and drop down the step. There will be a torch thrower here. Next you’ll have to jump up small grassy levels. When you get to the far right, drop down, before the rock hits you. There will be another one you can land on. This one will have a cherry on it. There will also be a floating platform on the right that you can jump onto. Use this to fly up to the stone walkway using the cherry gum. Conversely, if you don’t want to fly, use the zigzagging grass levels to jump back and walk left. You will get to some docks again and you can climb up. Eventually you will get to another grass walkway. There will be a hole with a continue gem in it. If you drop into the hole and press Y, a green curtain will rise up and take you to secret number 1. The barrel just after the hole has grape gum in it and the boulder will give a red jewel if swiped at. Move to the right, avoiding the bear traps and the dart shooters. You’ll come to the stone walkway mentioned a few paragraphs ago. Continue right and you will come to an odd looking cannon. This cannon shoots red flames rather than cannon balls at a ship in the distance. The cannon needs to be on the middle position to make a hit, so press up to use the cannon and up again to move it into position. Watch out for a skull thrower on the left and a flaming dart thrower on the right. The ship takes 4 hits and will grant an extra life when destroyed. Continue on right. There will be another flame cannon and boat. Again, put the cannon in the middle position and shoot the ship four times. You will gain another extra life. There will be another skull thrower from the left that you will need to avoid. Continue right and you will see another ship in the background, but there will be no cannon. Avoid its fire and the bugs and skull throwers and you will get to the ending gem. Grab it and move on to stage 2 Chapter 7 - Secret 1: The Final Battle (SKUL7-S1) Start by going right. After the second set of platforms that you see but cannot reach, there will be a pillar holding up the level above you. Swipe at the first one and it will reveal cherry gum. Go all the way back to the where you started. Use the gum to fly up and land on the level. There will be a total of 9 green jewels and three red jewels you can grab by jumping level to level via platforms. Grab them all and drop down of the far right to grab the ending gem. Chapter 7 - Stage 2: The Final Battle (SKUL7-2) “The Westicans drove the Kiltish all the way into the village of Siksup. The battle raged through the streets, with Storm leading all the way. You’ll start out in a village. There will be a guy who drops down from above if you don’t move. Move to the right. The barrel contains nothing but if you duck and attack the large barrel, you will get a red jewel. Move to the right and look for the rope. Climb it and jump to the roof. Move back to the left to get the jewel that you left behind at the beginning. Return to the right and climb the pipe to jump to the next roof to avoid the torch throwers. When you land, watch out for the Ninjas. There will be some holes in the building as you go down an incline. Bugs that drop rocks will pop out of these holes. Continue down the incline and move right. Take out the dart shooters and you will find a cannon and ship in the distance. Move it to the middle position and shoot the ship four times to gain a red jewel. Continue right and you will find another one. Move it to the middle position and attack it three times for a red jewel. Continue right and you will see yet another one. This time you must move it to the top position and hit the ship 3 times to gain orange gum. Continue on right. Jump on to the lower roof and move over it. Use the rope to the tiny roof and use it to move back left to get two red jewels. Continue right and you will find a blue continue gem in a door way. Once you grab it, there will be two flaming torch throwers attacking from your backside. Eradicate them and continue right. There will be a pipe next to a barrel that you can climb for two green jewels and one red jewel. If you continue right, there will be another flame cannon and ship. Third position and three hits will remove the ship and give you a red jewel. Go up the incline on the right. Use the rope and climb up to the higher roof. If you have grape or cherry gum and get up one more level. Up there will be two green jewels and two red ones hiding in the middle windows. Drop back down and continue right. Use the rope to get up and you will be at the ending gem. Three flying red bugs come in from behind, so take them out or gab the gem fast and move on to the third part. Chapter 7 - Stage 3: The Final Battle (SKUL7-3) “’It’s not so easy to get rid of Skuljagger!’ the captain shouted across the beach. and soon, with the weapons of Urnum, I shall rule the world!! Start out by moving right for the umpteenth time. You will come onto a sandy beach and then a stone walk way. There will be a rock shooting dirt mound. Jump it and watch out for the bugs coming at you. There will also be a dart shooter. The coconut on the ground gives you a red jewel. Continue right. The next coconut you see also has a red jewel in it. You will come to a floating platform that you can ride up. There will be two red jewels, one on each side. Drop off and use your projectile you got from the red jewel to take out the next two dart shooters. Continue right. There will be another mound of dirt shooting rocks and then a continue gem. Grab it. Jump the gap and take out the three blue bugs that fly behind you and then dive bomb you. The first coconut contains watermelon gum and the second one has a red jewel. Jump the next gap and watch out for the bear trap. After the third one is a very small space to land on. You need to land here. Use your projectile and fire it as you are landing. There is a flaming dart thrower on the other side of the gap. Duck immediately after you land so you won’t get hit. Jump the gap and continue right. There is a red jewel in the palm tree. Continue right and go up an incline. There will be a continue gem at the top, just before a gap. Wait at the edge for a floating platform to come into view. There will be a flame cannon with the giant blue faced guy floating in the distance. Set the cannon in the middle position and attack four times to receive a 1-up. Jump on the floating platform on the right and ride it up. Jump off to the left and take out the blue bug and torch thrower above you. Continue on up. Jump on the next side moving floating platform. There will be a torch thrower on the other side, so watch out. Drop down several levels and wait until you see a floating platform on the right. Jump on it and then the next one. Jump off and walk up the hill. There will be another flame cannon and a blue guy in the distance. Kill him with the middle position of the cannon in use and three hits to revel a red jewel. Continue on to the right, using the platforms to go and watching out for flying blue bugs. Keep moving right. This is a very tough area and will take many tires. Thankfully the 1-up is just after the continue point, so you shouldn’t net any loss of lives by the time you beat it. Just memorize where each bug comes from and take it slowly. The ending gem isn’t very far away. Grab it immediately to avoid any unexpected surprises and move on to the boss. Chapter 7 - Boss: The Final Battle (SKUL7-B) You land in between three rocks, only the third one contains anything, and that is a green jewel. Move right and meet the boss. This is the same boss from level 3. He throws axes as well as stabs with his knife. This guy is difficult, but can be beaten like so. If you have no jewels or gum, grab the jewel in the third rock (on the far right) first. Next, pick up the middle rock and move right. Jump and throw it when you are halfway across the sand. Keep moving right so that the rock stays in the picture and hits the boss the instant he appear in the picture. Now run to the left. He throws two axes, one high and one low. They always appear in that order. Duck the first one and jump the second one. Pick up the second rock and throw it in the bosses direction. Now run as absolutely far to the left as you can and duck. He will keep throwing axes. Jump the lower one. When he get close enough to attack with his knife or your sword, he will stop throwing axes. Once he is in rage dish out the attacks, one after another. DO NOT STOP FOR ANYTHING!. If you are ducked away in the corner his knife won’t get you and he will turn around for a brief moment every time he is hit. He will basically stay in one position, unable to hurt you and you will win. He takes 20 hits. At least one should have come from the rock if not two. After he is defeated, move to the right and grab the ending gem. You will now see the end of the game. Storm Jaxon (our hero) has liberated his homeland from Skuljagger and his Kiltish Army. Skuljagger has been transformed into a rat who may, one day, just come back to Westica. For now though, Skuljagger is no more and the Westicans can live in peace. That’s it. You are done. The end. You can press B once you see “the end” on the screen to start over in level 1 with you lives and points intact, but I see no purpose to doing this. Relish in the fact that you beat the game, because I know I am right now. I thank you for using this guide to help you beat the game. I was playing it along with you the whole way. Thanks again and let me know what you think! Send comments and questions to Arguro AT Hotmail.com. Cheats and Glitches (SKULC&G) This section is designed to cover the four level passwords as well as the 99 extra lives glitch I discovered while writing this FAQ. While the cheats have been published numerous times across every facet and corner of the internet, as far as I know, this is the first time this glitch has been discovered. Even if I am not the first person to discover it, I am still taking credit for discovering it around 7:15 pm Mountain time on the 18th of October, 2007, a full 15 years after the game was released. Cheats are entered at the “password input screen.” When you access this screen, there will be several words on the screen. Use the directional pad to move the cursor to the word and press the B button to input it. When you enter a correct password, it will say “password accepted” and take you back to the main menu. From there, select one or two players and you will start on the chapter you entered the password for. The game gives you the passwords for chapters 2-5 when you beat the boss of the level before (when you beat the 3rd boss, you get the password for chapter 4). The game does not give you passwords after the 4th boss, so chapters 6 and 7 do not have passwords, as far as I know. If they exist and I find them, I will post them here. Send them to me if you know them. Chapter 2: CRUEL MAN CRUEL BIRD Chapter 3: CLAW IS MEAN DOCK Chapter 4: BIG WILD ANGRY FLY Chapter 5: FLY HOME LAZY SWORD Chapter 6: NONE KNOWN Chapter 7: NONE KNOWN This is the only glitch I am aware of for this game. If you have one, send it to me. This glitch gives you 99 lives. What you need to do is lose all your lives except the final one (so it says Player x 1 at the top). Make sure you are holding 0 red and 0 green jewels. Get to the end of and level, but do not grab the giant blue gem. Wait until an enemy gets close and jump. Time your jump so that you collide with the enemy and the ending gem at the same time. Your lives will then say Player x 0 but you will perform the ending pose. You will move onto the next level without dying. The next time you die, your lives will change from 0 to 99. This happens because rather than checking to see what your life count it when you die, it just deducts a number. If you fall to your death and your number changes from 1 to 0, you get game over. However, if you already have a 0 before dying, it goes to the next number, or because of the mathematical limitations of the game, starts the count over at 99. This is very useful, especially in the final three chapters where there is no restart password. I discovered this on Chapter 6 - Stage 1 and used the 99 lives through the end of the game. Timing is key, so try it in the first couple of levels so you don’t have to retrace too much if you don’t get it the first time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Correspondence (SKULCORR) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I’ve been attempting to contact those who had a hand in making this game, trying to find out any information I can that is not out there, readily available to the public. I include these correspondences to allow others reading this guide to know what I discover. The following is my e-mail correspondence to a certain company or individual with his or her repose following. My e-mail to Realtime Associates: Greetings. My name is Sam Skinner and I just recently started to enjoy your older games, specifically games for the Super Nintendo and the Game Gear. Currently I am working on what I believe to be the only fan made walkthrough for the game Skuljagger for the SNES. However, I am having difficulties defeating the game, and I believe it to be partially because I bought the game used and do not have a manual for it. I was hoping you would have a pdf scan of the manual you could send me to aid me in writing my walkthrough. The manual would not appear anywhere within my walkthrough, as it is all original work. I understand that there is a comic book within the manual that gives hints and tips on how to find secret areas which I am having trouble finding. Also, I was wondering if you could shed some light any sequel to Skuljagger. I have seen entries around the internet that say there is a sequel for Skuljagger on the SNES called Skuljagger's Revenge: Revenge of the Westicans. I have searched high and low on internet auction sites and cannot find this game anywhere. My assumption is that the game was planned, but never released. However, I want to be sure of this before I give up my search. The response I received from David Warhol, President of Realtime Associates: Thank you for your interest in our old games. Skuljagger really goes back there! Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the comic book, the manual, or even the game for that matter. Not that I would have remembered, but now that you mention it, yes, there were some clues in the comic book on how to play the game. I would consider it to be bad design (at this time) if they were required clues, but I don't remember if they were just hints or facts you could not otherwise divine through gameplay. We probably talked about doing a sequel, but we were not hired to do one, and to my knowledge, neither was anyone else. The game was commissioned by two brothers, Rod and Dan Barr, I think their company was Barr Entertainment, who where entrepreneurs trying to create intellectual properties. It has been perhaps 8 or 10 years since I spoke with either of them, but you might be able to track them down. Sorry I can't be of more help, thanks again for your interest, and good luck getting the answers you seek - David Warhol President, Realtime Associates, Inc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FAQS (SKULFAQS) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Q: How do I beat X on level Y? A: If it isn’t already included in the above walkthrough then e-mail the question to me. Be specific about the location and I will get back to you as fast as I can. If it is in a level that is yet to be covered then sit tight and I will hopefully have an update where this will be included. If it has been over six months since the last update, then e-mail it to me and tell me to update soon. Q: What is the authors opinion of the game? A: If you truly want my opinion, please read my review for the game, which can be found under the reviews section of Gamefaqs for this game. If the review isnt there, check back in a few days as I have yet to write it. Q: Where can I get this game? A: This game can easily be found on sites like eBay and Amazon, usually for $5-$10. It is not rare as many would have you believe, just uncommon and virtually unknown. I personally paid $7.95 at a pawn shop in Spokane, Washington on February 26th 2005. Q: What is this game about? A: I covered this in the Introduction section. Essentially, it is about a pirate who chews bubble gum and fights occupiers of his home island to retrieve his many items they stole. Q: Why write a walkthrough for this game? A: I choose this game for a couple of reasons. The first one is that it is an obscure game that I enjoy playing. The other reason is that no one anywhere on the internet (as far as I can tell) has written anything about this game, outside of a few bashing reviews. I enjoy being the first person to write a FAQ and walkthrough for games. Q: Can I host this guide on my site? A: No. I do not allow anyone to use my guides without expressed, written permission. I do not give permission unless I am asked, specifically, about this guide. I do not like automated e-mails. I will most likely only allow my guide to be hosted on a small website, usually one centered around the game or system my guide is for. For more information, see the Copyright section of this guide, at the bottom. Use of this guide without my permission is considered theft and will be reported to the proper authorities. Q: How do I contact you about this guide? A: E-mail is the best way to do so. My e-mail can be found at the beginning or the end of this guide, just remember to take the numbers 123 out of it because they do not belong. I keep them there to prevent auto scanning websites from obtaining my e-mail address. I am not big on the instant messenger services any more, so it is unlikely that you can contact me that way. If e-mail is not an option, you can send me a private message through Gamefaqs message system. Q: What other guides have you done? A: Just simply click on the name Arguro at the very top or the very bottom (orange text in a black box) of this guide and it will take you to my contributor page. From there you can see all the different things I have contributed to Gamefaqs. Q: I really like your guides. Can I donate money to you in support? A: If you really want to, you can send a Pay Pal payment to my e-mail address which is at the top or bottom of this guide. Please understand that any donated money does not mean I will name you in my guide. It also does not mean I will do any special work for you and it certainly does not give you any rights to host this guide or publish it anywhere. I do not want the user to feel obligated to pay me in any means. This is a free guide for personal, private home use. I will not reject your offer to pay me, but I do not want you to feel it is necessary. If you do decide to donate to me, please only donate what amount you are comfortable with, even if it is a single penny. Once a donation is made, it is final and there will be no refunds. This is an odd question and I debated about adding it for a long time, but when I saw other FAQ authors had a similar question, I felt it would be a valid addition. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Version History (SKULHIST) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Version 0.40 completed October 15th, 2007 at 5:00 pm Mountain Time --Version included the guide, including all sections up to Chapter 2 Part 1.
