Your mission is to destroy all enemies within a level as well as uncovering the door tot he next area. However, the many strange enemies that await are tough and varied in style, so be ready with your trusty Bombs to take them out! To aid you in your quest, numerous Power-Ups can be found, usually two per level. These Power-Ups will make your mission a little bit easier, though that is not always the case. So, grab your Power-Ups, crank your enemies, and go free your fellow Bombermen, as you embark upon the adventure of a lifetime! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Basic Controls-------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) This section will cover all the moves that the round-headed hero can perform in his quest. D-Pad : Pressing any direction will move your Bomberman in the corresponding direction. If you have the Kicking Boot, running into a laid bomb will cause it to go flying away in the opposite direction. SELECT : Pauses/unpauses the game. START : Pauses/unpauses the game. L Button: No apparent use. R Button: If you have the Kicking Boot, press this to stop a previously kicked Bomb in it's tracks. X Button: If you have the Kicking Boot, press this to stop a previously kicked Bomb in it's tracks. Y Button: If you have the Punching Glove, face a Bomb to send it flying through the air. B Button: If you have a Detonator, press this to set off an explosion of a bomb at your leisure. A Button: This will lay Bombs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------World One---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. o-----------o | Level 1-1 | o-----------o Enemies : Choppers X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 2, Explosive Radius X 1 Password : 5555 Starting out with one solo Bomb and minimal explosive range, you will need to blow up bricks in search of more Bombs and an Explosive Radius while trapping the Choppers in narrow areas as best you can. A rather simple level to get you started, so get your Power-Ups and head through the door to the next level. o-----------o | Level 1-2 | o-----------o Enemies : Choppers X 2, Orbs X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : 7503 Plow through the bricks as fast as you can, trapping the Choppers and the Orbs in small corridors. Note that the Orbs will be your first taste of a tougher enemy, so land two hits on them to knock them out. Be sure to find the Roller Skates as they add that extra boost of speed that make it even easier to really trap enemies. o-----------o | Level 1-3 | o-----------o Enemies : Potato Rabbits X 9 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Explosive Radius X 1, Kicking Boot X 1 Password : 5543 Now you enter into a new area, which is more of a wilderness setting than the previous area. Here you will find a new enemy in the Potato Rabbit, though it acts identically to a Chopper in movement and toughness. Work your way through the level carefully, removing each Potato Rabbit as you free it from the area it was contained in, also keeping an eye out for another Bomb and Explosive Radius as well as a Kicking Boot. o-----------o | Level 1-4 | o-----------o Enemies : Choppers X 2, Orbs X 2, Sentient Bombs X 2 Power-Ups: Asbestos Vest X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : Here you will get old friends in Choppers and Orbs, but you will also get to meet and greet with two Sentient Bombs. These guys can destroy their allies, walls, and your Bomberman as easily as your own Bombs can, so take them out as soon as possible (ESPECIALLY if they are near the uncovered doorway, as they can bring in more enemies to harass you). While you are dealing with the enemy threat, keep an eye out for Roller Skates and an Asbestos Vest. o-----------o | Level 1-5 | o-----------o Enemies : Bomb Muncher X 1, Choppers X 2, Sentient Bombs X 3 Power-Ups: Alarm Clock X 1, Detonator X 1 Password : 5522 One new enemy to deal with here, as the Bomb Muncher makes his first appearance. This guy loves to eat Bombs, and if he succeeds, the Bomb will not explode. Work your way through the bricks quickly, as the Sentient Bombs can destroy the Power-Ups (specifically the GODLY Detonator), and be ready to lay a string of Bombs to try and lead the Bomb Muncher into some explosions. Really make an effort to get the Detonator, though the Alarm Clock is worth a few points as well. o-----------o | Level 1-6 | o-----------o Enemies : Orbs X 2, Sentient Bombs X 2, Tanks X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Walk Through Walls X 1 Password : 7564 Another level, another new enemy for your Bomberman to blow up. The green monsters (no, not the big wall in Boston) will move around and spew flames all around, taking three hits to knock them into scrap. You should go after the Sentient Bombs off the start as normal, though leaving one alone near a Tank for about 10 seconds will help to remove a couple hits from the Tank (though this is risky because of the potential loss of Power-Ups). o-----------o | Level 1-7 | o-----------o Enemies : Sentient Bombs X 3, Tanks X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Bomberman Doll X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : 3535 Here you have your toughest combo of enemies to date, as the tough as nails Tanks team up with the explosive Sentient Bombs. This is good level to use your free Asbestos Vest that you start with to turn yourself into a walking wall of fire, burning through the enemy (see Strategies/Secrets for details). Just note that you will likely incinerate some Power-Ups by doing so, though a Sentient Bomb is just as likely to do the same to you. Once you are through the door, you will be at the Boss Fight! o-----------o | Level 1-8 | o-----------o Enemies : Hammer Man Toughness: 10 Hits Power-Ups: NONE Password : 0574 This huge baddie will float above the bricks in the room, stopping occasionally to swing his huge mallet at the ground, sending some pieces of the floor flying. Both the Hammer strike and the chunks of concrete will kill your Bomberman if they make connection, so steer clear of these obstacles. To start, use your fire-walking technique as long as possible to damage the big brute, then step away from him. Now start laying Bombs as you walk away from the behemoth, leading Hammer Man into their Explosive Range. He is very slow, so start the Bomb line as near to him as you feel comfortable, causing him to take damage. After roasting him 10 times, he will bite the dust for good! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------World Two---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. o-----------o | Level 2-1 | o-----------o Enemies : Mouthpieces X 2, Sproings X 4, Teacups X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Alarm Clock X 1, Asbestos Vest X 1 Password : 0055 Three new enemies to take out here, though Sproings and Mouthpieces are the same basic enemy fare (much like Choppers and Potato Rabbits). The Teacup move a little more randomly and have the ability to Walk Through Walls however, so try to lay a bunch of Bomb near them, hoping they will wander into a blast. Keep an eye out for Bombs, though an Asbestos Vest and Alarm Clock can help safeguard your lives if you find them as well. o-----------o | Level 2-2 | o-----------o Enemies : Sentient Bombs X 3, Teacups X 4 Power-Ups: Punching Glove X 1, Walk Through Bombs X 1 Password : 4005 Here you will find some more teacups as well as Sentient Bombs, so go after the more aggressive of the two in the Sentient Bombs. Once you have punked them, then the Teacups should be hunted down one by one, all the while watching for the Punching Glove and the Walk Through Bombs. A quick note about the Walk Through Bombs is that if you have the Kicking Boot when you collect this, the power of Kicking will be lost to you. o-----------o | Level 2-3 | o-----------o Enemies : Mouthpieces X 3, Sproings X 2, U.F.O. X 1 Power-Ups: Bomb X 1, Detonator X 1 Password : 0043 Here you meet yet another new entry into the enemy ranks, the single-minded U.F.O. You should clear out some bricks near your starting position, going after any enemies that draw near. When it comes to the U.F.O., try to draw it into an area where it can not get at you, forcing it to approach down one lane where Bombs can be laid to get it. Be on the look out for Detonators, as they are a supremely good Power-Up. o-----------o | Level 2-4 | o-----------o Enemies : Orbs X 2, Sentient Bombs X 3, Morphers X 3 Power-Ups: Asbestos Vest X 1, Walk Through Walls X 1 Password : 5012 Good old Sentient Bombs re-appear, so it is time to go destroy the Bombs before they destroy you. This just leaves the enemies Orbs and the wandering Morphers to hunt down while you seek out the Power-Ups and the doorway to leave through. o-----------o | Level 2-5 | o-----------o Enemies : Sproings X 3, Coins X 4 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Explosive Radius X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : 7024 This is your first run in with Coins, and you will quickly learn that they are to be dealt with quickly, or they deal with you very meanly. Use your invincibility at the beginning of the level to go after these annoyances, taking the out before they even have the chance to do it to you. Following up their destruction are three simple minded Sproings begging to be scrapped. This just leaves three Power-Ups to find as you go about your business, though your firewall walking may have eliminated them by accident. o-----------o | Level 2-6 | o-----------o Enemies : Sproings X 2, Mouthpieces X 3, Sentient Bombs (Red) X 2 Power-Ups: Kicking Boot X 1, Punching Glove X 1 Password : 5064 Here you will see what appears to be old friends, but in reality the Sentient Bombs will have an extra trick up their sleeve (fuse... whatever). Their Explosive radius will pass directly through bombable walls, as opposed to stopping as is the normal for the Black Sentient Bombs. This means they have the Fire Bombs capability, so be wary while moving around. Go after these ones first, as they are especially dangerous when they start bombing the doorway (releasing more enemies), followed by dealing with the less dangerous Mouthpieces and Sproings. o-----------o | Level 2-7 | o-----------o Enemies : Sproings X 4, Bomb Munchers X 2, Teacups X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Roller Skates X 2 Password : 0034 SOme old friends greet you here, so start Bombing away some walls while you go after the trapped Srpoings and Bomb Munchers. As you progress, try to not release too many of the contained enemies, or they may overwhelm you. Luckily, you will find yourself a couple Roller Skates, speeding your somewhat sloth-like Bomberman up. o-----------o | Level 2-8 | o-----------o Enemies : Electric Clown Toughness: 18 Hits Power-Ups: NONE Password : 2072 This alleged funny man is a giant, floating head that chases your Bomberman around the arena. Every time he takes damage, he will fire off a circle of sparks that spread out as they leave his body. To beat him, use your fire walking ability to land six hits on the big guy, then start moving around the room in a circular pattern, dropping Bombs as you cut inside the bricks. If you get this down, you can land a hit while continually moving, thus never allowing the big bad Clown anywhere near your Bomberman. Land the 18th hit to send the Clown to the funny farm! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------World Three--------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. o-----------o | Level 3-1 | o-----------o Enemies : Eye Patch X 3, Gophers X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Kicking Boot X 1, Fire Bombs X 1 Password : 5453 Two new enemies to tangle with, though Eye Patches behave like many of the other generic enemies you have destroyed already (like Mouthpieces or Sproings). However, Gophers have the extra ability of digging into the ground to pop up elsewhere, so watch for their next set of holes, as these are the spots that the enemy will up through. Work through the flower obstacles methodically, exterminating the enemy while collecting the Bombs, Fire Bombs, and Kicking Boots in this rather laid back level. o-----------o | Level 3-2 | o-----------o Enemies : Eye Patch X 3, Gophers X 2, Bomb Munchers X 3 Power-Ups: Punching Glove X 1, Asbestos Vest X 1 Password : 7402 Similiar to last level, Bomb Munchers have been added into the mix. Start off by charging at the Bomb Munchers, removing those multiple hit baddies. At the same time, do not be afraid to go after the Eye Patches or Gophers if the opportunity presents itself. While you are doing this run and gun style of fighting, keep an eye out for an Asbestos Vest as well as a Punching Glove. o-----------o | Level 3-3 | o-----------o Enemies : Morphers X 2, Gophers X 2, Rollies X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 2, Golden Explosive Radius X 1 Password : 3444 Another level, another new enemy. Here Rollies make their appearance, which are random pattern movers that make use of the Walk Through Walls ability. No one here is a serious threat, so work your way through the level in a methodical pattern, eliminating each enemy as you release them. Be wary of the Gophers, as they can pop up right around you, potentially surprising you. Also keep an eye you for the godly Golden Explosive Range, which you should know carries the price of paying attention so you do not inadvertently fry yourself when you thought yourself safely out of range! o-----------o | Level 3-4 | o-----------o Enemies : Hard Hats X 5, Spinners X 3 Power-Ups: Detonator X 1, Punching Glove X 1 Password : 0412 Two new enemies here, but these guys are also tougher than your average bad guys. Hard Hats are your typical one line walkers, but they take two hits to slag. Spinners are your typical Walk Through Walls, random as all hell pattern walkers, but they take a good beating, requiring three hits to decommission. If you still have Fire Bombs, use your range through objects to get the Hard hats out early, then concentrate on the tougher Spinners. Also watch out for the superb Detonator and Punching Glove while roasting all comers. o-----------o | Level 3-5 | o-----------o Enemies : Hard Hats X 4, Bull Bots X 4 Power-Ups: Alarm Clock X 1, Bomberman Doll X 1 Password : 2423 Bull Bots rear their ugly heads for the first time in this level, as these patrollers will charge once they get your Bomberman in their sights. Lay a Bomb to prevent them from reaching you, and this will also wipe them out as they are slow to move away from the Bomb. You also have four hard Hats to deal with, but they are predictable, allowing easy disposal. Keep an extra sharp eye out for the Bomberman Doll, as an extra life is always useful. o-----------o | Level 3-6 | o-----------o Enemies : Dopplegangers X 7 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Fire Bombs X 1 Password : 0464 Here are what can be considered the most flattering enemy, as these Dopplegangers will mimic Shiro and Kuro, the Bombermen, as they wander around. Blast these wannabes while they are transforming or while they are the green face versions of themselves, as this will destroy them. If you Bomb them during their Bomberman phase, they will just revert to the green faces phase of their actions. Fire Bombs are big prize in this level that is up for grabs. o-----------o | Level 3-7 | o-----------o Enemies : Bull Bots X 4, Dopplegangers X 4 Power-Ups: Roller Skates X 1, Kicking Boot X 1, Punching Glove X 1 Password : 4434 A few more Dopplegangers spill into this area, along with some Bull Bots. Move out, quickly destroying all you come across, all the while watching for the cornucopia of great Power-Ups contained in the level. o-----------o | Level 3-8 | o-----------o Enemies : Shark Bots, Pincer Bot Toughness: 13 hits for Pincer Bot, 1 Hit each for Shark Bots Power-Ups: NONE Password : 0475 An evil scientist guy will retreat back into Pincer Bot, which moves back and forth across the top of the screen, stopping periodically. When it stops, if it's hatch is blocked off by a wall, it will throw at least one of it's pincers down towards the bottom of the screen in an attempt to hit your Bomberman (also note that the arms are deadly to the tough even though they are hamrless looking). If the hatch is in an open space, it will flop open to pop out a Shark Bot, which will move through out the fighting area, seeking out your Bomberman as well as utilizing it's Punching Glove ability to bounce Bombs all around the screen. Your job is to take these continually appearing Shark bots as often as you can while landing 13 hits on the Pincer Bot to permanently scrap it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------World Four---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. o-----------o | Level 4-1 | o-----------o Enemies : Tanks X 2, Sentient Bombs X 3, Sentient Bombs (Red) X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Explosive Radius X 1, Punching Glove X 1 Password : 6154 here you get greeted by some familiar and not loved enemies in Tanks (fiery, spewing death) as well as both sets of Sentient Bombs. Try to work through the group quickly, but try to go after the isolated ones first. Remember that if the doorway is revealed, all Sentient Bombs must be removed from that area or they will just keep letting in new enemies (it is alright to let one in yourself to stop the multitudes he would possibly let in). The problem with this level is that most of the Power-Ups will likely be destroyed before you ever see them or get close to them, but snag them if they present themselves. o-----------o | Level 4-2 | o-----------o Enemies : Orbs X 2, Morphers X 3, Mecha-Bull Bots X 3 Power-Ups: Asbestos Vest X 1, Walk Through Walls X 1 Password : 4103 Nothing truly new here, though the Bull Bots have been upgraded to Mecha-Bull Bots (this just means they take two hits to kill instead of one hit). To win here, just work through each area slowly, not letting too many enemies out to overwhelm you (though the Morphers will be moving towards you semi-aggressively with their Walk Through Walls ability). Speaking of the Walk Through Walls capability, that is in this level as well as an Asbestos Vest. o-----------o | Level 4-3 | o-----------o Enemies : U.F.O. X 2, Coins X 3, Mecha-Bull Bots X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Kicking Boot X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : 7144 A level that attacks you with super aggressive enemies! The Coins are by Far the most dangerous enemies, so they must be killed as soon as possible. Follow that up by taking care of the persistent U.F.O.'s, and then the Mecha-Bull Bots will finally enter your list as the last thing to destroy. If you are able to while frantically running through the level, look for the Roller Skates (help woth your dodging) and a Kicking Boot to assist you. o-----------o | Level 4-4 | o-----------o Enemies : Tanks X 2, U.F.O. X 4, Mecha-Chopper X 1 Power-Ups: Explosive Radius X 1, Walk Through Bombs X 1 Password : 5114 Here you will find the second enemy from your past that gets an upgrade to Mecha status, and you may laugh initially at it being a Chopper. However, the speed upgrade is massive and the new armor makes it so tough that FIVE direct hits are needed to permanently destroy this guy. Anyhow, mucho U.F.O.'s are your primary targets, as they seek you out constantly, followed by the mindless but dangerous Tanks and Mecha-Chopper. Keep an eye out for Walk Through Walls and some Explosive Radius, as they can be found here. o-----------o | Level 4-5 | o-----------o Enemies : Sentient Bombs (Red) X 3, Mecha-Choppers X 3 Power-Ups: Alarm Clock X 2, Bomberman Doll X 1 Password : 1122 Red Sentient Bombs are your primary target, as they have that potential to unleash hordes of new enemies from an uncovered door. Following that are the Mecha-Choppers that just take persistence to cut down through their thick armor. A Bomberman Doll can be found, but only if the Sentient Bombs don't beat you to it. o-----------o | Level 4-6 | o-----------o Enemies : Orbs X 2, Coins X 3, Mecha-Bull Bot X 2 Power-Ups: Detonator X 1, Fire Bombs X 1 Password : 4164 Coins appear again for the second time in this world, so they are your number one priority while you have your free (and oh so stylish) Asbestos Vest handy at the beginning of the level. Following that are some fairly easy, line walking enemies, though the Mecha-Bull Bots can be real pains if they get by your lines of laid Bombs. Fire Bombs and Detonators can be located here, but be careful not to roast them as you hunt the Coins. o-----------o | Level 4-7 | o-----------o Enemies : Coins X 5, Sentient Bombs (Red) X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Punching Glove X 1, Roller Skates X 1 Password : 0135 Here you will find FIVE Coins looking to stuff themselves down your throat right from the get go, so the walking wall of fire technique is highly recommended at the beginning to thin their numbers. Once the Coins are melted, get after those Sentient Bombs as they can bomb an uncovered door to release more of themselves OR more evil Coins to come after you. This is a level where being fast and efficient is a must if you wish to escape with all your extra Bombermen in reserve intact. o-----------o | Level 4-8 | o-----------o Enemies : Boxer Bomberman Toughness: 17 Electrocution hits Power-Ups: Explosive Radius Password : 2174 This massive fellow will bounce all around the arena, moving in a clockwise direction. He will not move in perfect 45 degree angles, but vary his angle as he skims across the top of the columns. The idea for destroying him is to bait him towards your Bombs, timing it so the Explosive Radius will chuck him into the electrified walls, thus scoring a hit. If you have Detonators, this fight is a breeze as you can just pound him into the wall continually, but if you do not have them, get about 1-2 wall bounces ahead of him and start laying Bombs so they explode as he nears, thus forcing him into the wall. Keep an eye out for Explosive Radius Power-Ups, as they will frequently spawn as the level progresses. Score 17 Electrocutions to put this fast and somewhat annoying Boss down for good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------World Five---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. Note for this World that there are no "official" levels, so it will be laid out in a slightly altered manner. o----------------------o | Evil Bombermen Arena | o----------------------o You have stumbled into an arena where fans watch the Evil Bombermen fight for their enjoyment. You are now the target of all the other Bombermen there, which can be identified by their slanted eyes and remoreseless fighting style. They too can pick up Power-Ups whenever they appear, so be sure to beat them to the goods! There are a few rules to understand about the Evil Bombermen Arena: i) They will begin their battle with an Asbestos Vest (just like you do for every level/life), so avoid them till this wears off. ii) They too can pick up Power-Ups whenever they appear, so be sure to beat them to the goods! iii) After every battle, your time limit WILL NOT reset, meaning that you will need to collect Alarm Clocks to save your built up cache of Power-Ups. iv) Many Power-Ups will appear during the fights as well as on the death of an Evil Bomberman, so be ready to go get those valued treasures. v) If you enter the arena with just a single player, only one of each type of Bomberman will appear. if two players are in play, the first time a new Evil Bomerbman set is due to enter the ring will bring in two of that type. vi) Although they are just palette swaps in the graphics department, some of the Evil Bombermen have different characteristics, so check out each type listed below for specifics. Evil Bomberman: White Toughness : One hit Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 5252 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Evil Bomberman: Black Toughness : One hit Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 7204 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Evil Bomberman: Red Toughness : One hit Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 5244 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Evil Bomberman: Blue Toughness : One hit Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 6213 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Evil Bomberman: Green Toughness : Two hits Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 4224 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Pink Toughness : Two hits Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 1264 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Purple Toughness : Two hits Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius Password : 3232 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Clone Toughness : Five hits Eqipment : One Bomb, Kicking Boot, and Golden Explosive Radius Password : 0273 This nasty fellow has some Power-Ups in the Golden Explosive Radius as well as the Kicking Boot for escaping from trapped areas. Your goal is to trap him between a pile of Bombs so he can not kick his way out while dodging his massive explosions. This will be along battle (unless you gain access to an Asbestos Vest through a Power-Up or death, allowing for fire wall walking to be used), so just keep attacking him and laying down tons of Bombs (be sure to get yourself clear of the Bomb blasts). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------World Six---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) This section will take a look at all the Levels for this World. o-----------o | Level 6-1 | o-----------o Enemies : Choppers X 2, Orbs X 2, Sproings X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Explosive Radius X 1, Walk Through Walls X 1 Password : 0652 A welcome reprieve after the grueling sets of enemies you have been facing over the last two worlds, go roast these wimps with little effort. Be sure to watch for the range extending Explosive Radius, Bombs, and the always clever Walk Through Walls. o-----------o | Level 6-2 | o-----------o Enemies : Sentient Bombs X 3, Morphers X 2, Gophers X 2 Power-Ups: Roller Skates X 1 Password : 3605 The vacation ends as Sentient Bombs reappear, so go get them immediately to keep them from performing any of their doorway mischief. This just leaves the Walk Through Walls Morphers and hole digging Gophers, but they are not very large threats in any particular way. Keep an eye out for Roller Skates, as they appear to be the one Power-Up to be found in the level. o-----------o | Level 6-3 | o-----------o Enemies : U.F.O. X 2, Bull Bots X 3, Bomberman Bots X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Detonator X 1, Punching Glove X 1 Password : 7645 This is your introduction to the Bomberman bots, which are tougher versions of the U.F.O. enemy. Though they look like a Bomberman (in the eyes anyway), they were not given the power of actual Bomb laying. This level contains tons of aggressive enemies, so your duty is to work your way through the level carefully by not letting out any contained enemies till you are ready to deal with them. While doing this, be on the lookout for Detonators, Punching Glove, and Bombs as all three will be useful in upcoming levels. o-----------o | Level 6-4 | o-----------o Enemies : Golden Guardians X 2 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Alarm Clock X 1, Bomberman Doll X 1 Password : 5615 Here is the sole time in the game you will ever see these toughies, and they come in a pair. You need to Bomb them so that their side or backs take the damage, as they hold a shield in front of themselves, protecting them from fire. Eight hits will drop one, but be careful after you eliminate one, as the door can be bombed then to let in a new one! However, you will only face a maximum of two at one time. A Bomberman Doll, an Alarm Clock, and Bombs can all be found here in both the bricks and the remains of the Golden Guardians. o-----------o | Level 6-5 | o-----------o Enemies : Bomb Munchers X 3, Mecha-Bull Bots X 2, Bomberman Bots X 3 Power-Ups: Bombs X 1, Kicking Boot X 1, Alarm Clock X 1 Password : 7623 It may sound surprising, but it is best for you go after the Bomb Munchers first, as their Bomb eating abilities make it tough to concentrate on the other baddies here due to the overall toughness of the Mecha-Bull Bots and the Bomberman Bots. However, do not pass up any easy kills on the other two in your hunt for the Bomb Munchers. The Kicking Boot is the best prize in this level, though more Bombs or extending your time with an Alarm Clock are not bad either. o-----------o | Level 6-6 | o-----------o Enemies : Coins X 2, Mecha-Choppers X 2, Bomberman Bots X 4 Power-Ups: Detonator X 1, Walk Through Walls X 1 Password : 4665 The Coins and the Bomberman Bots are really dangerous, so take them out while trying to keep the Mecha-Choppers contained (if they are). Try to whittle down the enemy while employing hit and run tactics, remembering to watch out for the constant attention of the enemy. Also remember that those Mecha-Choppers are VERY fast, so keep laying Bombs to block their advances. Keep an eye out for the ever useful Detonators and the devilly delicious Walk Through Walls. o-----------o | Level 6-7 | o-----------o Enemies : Sentient Bombs X 3, Coins X 3, Bomberman Bots X 2 Power-Ups: Detonators X 1, Golden Explosive Range X 1, Bomberman Doll X 1 Password : 1635 The last regular level, so of course it will have Sentient Bombs to blow away walls, you, and any door or Power-Up they find, Coins to harass you continually, and Bomberman Bots to trudge along at a steady pace as they stalk you. Clear the area quickly, as they get really nasty once they gang up (though you can let the Sentient Bombs weaken the enemy up for you if you are feeling daring). Watch for the Detonators, Golden Explosive Range, and a Bomberman Doll as they are all useful things to have at this stage of the game. o-----------o | Level 6-8 | o-----------o ======== Part One ======== Enemies : Spider Robot Toughness: Seven hits Power-Ups: NONE Password : 2675 ======== Part Two ======== Enemies : Mastermind Ship Toughness: Five hits Power-Ups: Poison, Explosive Radius, Punching Glove Password : NONE ======== Part One ======== The Spider Robot will move around the arena, stopping it's eye over an intersection, at which point it will begin lobbing many Bombs into the air. At this point it will shield it's eye by covering it, and then it will uncover to either move or launch more Bombs. Your job is to Bomb the eye while it is vulnerable, hitting it seven times. During the rain of Bombs, hide in an area where no explosive radius will reach (be wary as the Explosive Radius of the Spider Robot's Bombs as they have Golden Explosive Radius reach). After seven hits, a new menace will appear... ======== Part Two ======== The two men who have been tormenting Shiro and Kuro the entire way through the game fly around the screen here, trying to crush your Bomberman. If the bottom of the part of the ship comes into contact with ANY type of Bomb, it will detonate, so be careful. To further complicate things, the Mastermind Ship will throw out Poisons continually, in an attempt to cause severe problems to your Bombermen, so Bomb them as fast as they appear (though sometimes they will just land one on your Bomberman, so tough luck can be a real problem). Also be sure to dodge the Explosive Radius Power-Ups, as they are of no use to you and just risk the chance of blowing yourself up. So how do you beat these two? Well, conventional attacks of exploding Bombs will not work, so you will have to just dodge the Ship as well as the Poisons until a Punching Glove spawns. Grab the Punching Glove, lay a Bomb, and then land it on top of the Mastermind Ship to damage it. land five direct hits to scrap the entire building and bring down the empire of these two evil mean to win the game! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Power-Ups/Items------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) This section will look at all the icons that can be collected, including Effects, Usage, and Points. o-------------o | Alarm Clock | o-------------o Effects: Once this has been grabbed, Your timer at the top of the screen will completely refill, allowing your Bomberman more time to complete the level. Usage : Pick it up and watch it do it's magic. Points : 900. o---------------o | Asbestos Vest | o---------------o Effects: While wearing this, your Bomberman will flash with invulnerabilty to enemies and fire alike for a short while. Usage : Once it is on, just walk around, hunting down enemies and stepping into the explosive radius from Bombs without fear. Points : 500. o------o | Bomb | o------o Effects: With each one of these in hand, your Bomberman gains the ability to throw an extra Bomb onto the floor. Usage : Beginning the game with just one Bomb, each additional pick-up will add another Bomb that can be laid at one time. So, three Bomb pick-ups allow the laying of up to four Bombs at one time, etc. Points : 10. o----------------o | Bomberman Doll | o----------------o Effects: Adds an extra life into the Bomberman reserve. Usage : Pick it up and watch it do it's magic. Points : 600. o-----------o | Detonator | o-----------o Effects: Once obtained, your Bombs will only be destroyed by Explosive Radius or by remotely setting them off. Usage : Press the B Button to set off the least recent Remote Bomb left on the screen, following into the next oldest and so on. Points : 300. o------------------o | Explosive Radius | o------------------o Effects: This small, smiling flame will add a range of two more spaces to your fiery reach of your Bombs with each pick-up. Usage : Once you get it, remember to give your Bombs a wider range when they are exploding. Points : 200. o------------o | Fire Bombs | o------------o Effects: Your Bombs will become red in colour as well as gain the ability to burn straight through bombable objects, as opposed to stopping at said objects. Usage : Use this to burn through bombable walls, reaching enemies on the far side, but remember that standing on the other side of bombable walls is no longer safe for your Bomberman anymore. Points : 2000. o------o | Food | o------o Effects: These random objects will add some points to your score. Usage : Pick it up and watch it do it's magic. Points : Random, based on Food type collected, but Ice Cream is by far the most valuable pick-up, especially earl on in the adventure. o-------------------------o | Golden Explosive Radius | o-------------------------o Effects: When collected, your Explosive Radius gets expanded to reach across the screen in both directions. Usage : use to long range attack enemies, as the flames will reach them, even from incredibly far away. Points : 1000. o-------o | Heart | o-------o Effects: This will add some points to your score. Note that it will also allow your Bomberman to take one hit, turning him temporarily invincible (only one at a time may be held). Thanks to Jennifer Dixon for filling me in on this info, as I was unaware of this special attribute! Usage : Pick it up and watch it do it's magic. Points : 800. o--------------o | Kicking Boot | o--------------o Effects: Run into a Bomb to send it flying. Usage : Kick the Bomb to send it sliding, and you can stop it by pressing the X Button or R Button. Points : 3000. o--------o | Poison | o--------o Effects: Multiple curses, including: slow walking speed, fast walking speed, bomb drop virus (drop all your Bombs as you move), no Bombs, and invisibility. Usage : Although many of these effects seem quite bad, they can be used to your advantage Points : 2000. o----------------o | Punching Glove | o----------------o Effects: Knocks a Bomb through the air, passing it over bombable objects as well as the border walls (wraps around to the opposite side of the arena). Usage : Use to reach contained enemies or to get enemies on the far side of the screen. Points : 4000. o---------------o | Question Mark | o---------------o Effects: This will add some points to your score. Usage : Pick it up and watch it do it's magic. Points : # of Enemy Remaining X 1000. o---------------o | Roller Skates | o---------------o Effects: Your Bomberman will move at a far greater speed than normal. Usage : This effect can be done twice before it no longer has any effect, allowing your Bomberman to outdistance even the fleetest of enemies. Points : 400. o--------------------o | Walk Through Bombs | o--------------------o Effects: Your Bomberman will be able to walk through Bombs like they are made of air. Usage : If picked up, Kicking Boot will be nullified, but Bombs can be walked through if you trap yourself. Points : 700. o--------------------o | Wall Through Walls | o--------------------o Effects: Your Bomberman will be able to walk through walls like they are made of air. Usage : Walls will be able to be walked through, allowing passage into contained areas without destroying the walls. Points : 800. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------Enemies----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10)This section will take a look at all the enemies within the game, including: Appearance, Attack Movements, Toughness, Strategy, and Basic Points. o--------------o | Bomb Muncher | o--------------o Appearance : A blue, Pac Man knock-off with a taste for Bombs. Attack Movements: He will move randomly until a Bomb is laid nearby, which will incite the blue baddie to set off towards the Bomb at full speed. Toughness : Three hits. Strategy : Lay multiple bombs in a line (four should be enough) while it is near, which will cause him to eat the first couple but not the last couple as they explode and hurt him. Basic Points : 400. o----------------o | Bomberman Bots | o----------------o Appearance : purple and grey robots with a flashing light on the front. Attack Movements: These guys are as smart as any enemy, as they zero in on your Bomberman and keep coming for him. Toughness : Three hits. Strategy : These guys are tough, mean, and dedicated to hunting you down. The only good news is that the Bomb laying abilities of the Bombermen have not been added into the programming. Try to trap them in small areas, repeatedly pounding on them to rid yourself of these mean machines. Basic Points : 800. o-----------o | Bull Bots | o-----------o Appearance : Metallic, flashing eyes, with vicious horns. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. However, if they see a Bomberman, they will charge directly at him. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Bait a Bull Bot into seeing you so it will charge, at which point you should drop a Bomb so it will hit the Bomb, stop, and the resulting explosion will destroy it. Basic Points : 400. o-------o | Coins | o-------o Appearance : Yellow, circular objects with evil eyes and a mouth. Attack Movements: These guys are fast! They are also quite aggressive in pursuing any Bombermen they sense, passing through walls without effort as they relentlessly seek to touch you. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : If they are in a level, hunt them down while your Asbestos vest is still in effect, allowing you to use the walking wall of fire. If they survive this, lay Bombs to try and force them to approach down an avenue where they are going to get hit by an Explosion. Basic Points : 1600. o---------o | Chopper | o---------o Appearance : An orange, cylinder with motorized blades on it's head. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 100. o--------------o | Doppleganger | o--------------o Appearance : Green faces that can change into Bombermen lookalikes. Attack Movements: They wander the arena, seemingly at random. They will pause for a few seconds, transform into Bombermen (sans the Bombs), and then wander around for a bit more before returning to their normal state. Toughness : One hit (however, it must be done during a transformation phase or during the green face phase) Strategy : They are reasonable fast, so try to trap them with multiple Bombs as well as walls to contain them. Basic Points : o-----------o | Eye Patch | o-----------o Appearance : A green ball with an Eye Patch that splits into two halves as it moves. Attack Movements: More of a random mover, it will switch to aggressive attack only when your Bomberman is within the closest of ranges. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : These guys are so random, you really just need to get close enough to them that they can almost touch you, then lay a Bomb (they are not likely to escape). Basic Points : 200. o------------------o | Golden Guardians | o------------------o Appearance : Two Gold Armored, shield and spear carrying nasties. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. They will take a charge at your Bomberman if they detect him. Their shield protects them from damage. Toughness : Eight hits. Strategy : Having to face two of these guys at one time is enough! Try to bait them into charging you, laying a Bomb that will stop them and then turn them around, thus making them vulnerable to your explosive radius. Basic Points : 3200. o--------o | Gopher | o--------o Appearance : A green fellow wearing a blue shirt. Attack Movements: They wander aimlessly, seemingly with no plan. However, after a few moments of this, they will stop, dig a hole, and then surface elsewhere in the level. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Go after them, trapping them in small areas. However, if they take to the ground, watch for their surfacing holes to form as stepping onto them as they surface is a surefire way to die. Basic Points : 400. o----------o | Hard Hat | o----------o Appearance : Skinny, metal bodies with a hard hat on top. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : Two hits. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 800. o-----------------o | Mecha-Bull Bots | o-----------------o Appearance : Grey, metallic, flashing eyes, with vicious horns. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. However, if they see a Bomberman, they will charge directly at him at very high speeds. Toughness : Two hits. Strategy : Bait a Mecha-Bull Bot into seeing you so it will charge, at which point you should drop a Bomb so it will hit the Bomb, stop, and the resulting explosion will damage it. Basic Points : 400. o---------------o | Mecha-Chopper | o---------------o Appearance : A grey, cylinder with motorized blades on it's head. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines at obscenely fast speeds, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : Five hits. Strategy : Try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 6400. o---------o | Morpher | o---------o Appearance : An orange sphere with eyes. Attack Movements: Moves around in a random pattern, endowed with the Walk Through Walls Power-Up. It will stop periodically, become a square briefly, and then disappear, making it impervious to attack (needs to be completely invisible for the protection), followed by resetting to it's original shape. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Try to anticipate where they will move to, laying Bombs to give them a fiery welcome as they arrive. If they stop for a moment, lay a Bomb nearby, which will roast them as they begin to re-materialize. Basic Points : 800. o------------o | Mouthpiece | o------------o Appearance : A purple head with a wildly shifting mouth. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 100. o-----o | Orb | o-----o Appearance : Blue and Green circular enemy that float through the air. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : Two hits. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 400. o---------------o | Potato Rabbit | o---------------o Appearance : Brown oval with two stringy ears. Attack Movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 200. o--------o | Rollie | o--------o Appearance : A blue, rolling elephant. Attack Movements: with their seemingly random path choices, these guys might come across as easy enough to take care of. However, they also possess the Walk Through Walls (Roll Through Walls?) ability, so they can be tough to track down. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Try to use the arena walls to limit which areas they can go to, as they are unable to pass through those. Basic Points : 400. o----------------o | Sentinent Bomb | o----------------o Appearance : A Bomb that can be couloured black or red. Attack Movements: Moving back and forth, it will set down periodically, signaling it will commence explosion before getting up to the pattern once again. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Try to approach them between blasts, laying a Bomb near them. If you can drop a Bomb near them just before they set down, you will get them every time. If they are Red in colour, there Explosive Radius will pass through bombable bricks much like the Fire Bomb Power-Up will allow your Bomberman to do. Also note that a Kicked or Punched Bomb will kill them upon impact. Basic Points : 800. o---------o | Spinner | o---------o Appearance : a red head resting on a blue top, spinning around. Attack Movements: These guys parade around in seemingly random patterns, going where ever they wish thanks to the Walk Through Walls ability they possess. Toughness : Three hits. Strategy : These guys are really tough to take down, so just wear them down with lots of Bombs being used to cut off their escape routes. If you have the Kicking Boot, you can just keep kicking Bombs into them for the kill (Punching Glove works too, but it is a finer art). Basic Points : 400. o---------o | Sproing | o---------o Appearance : A purple head on a spring body. Attack movements: Moves back and forth in straight lines, occasionally switching to take a new path. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Since they move so slowly, try to trap them in a smaller area by laying a Bomb close to the wall that you are using to contain them with. Basic Points : 200. o------o | Tank | o------o Appearance : Large, green, metal monstrosities, Attack Movements: They move back and forth, pausing momentarily to spew a line of vicious fire over a few spaces before continuing their movements. Toughness : Three hits. Strategy : Stay out of their range, moving in behind them as they pause to fire (approach a side they are not shooting at). You can also try to trap them, but it is a risky venture due to their firing range. Basic Points : 1600. o--------o | Teacup | o--------o Appearance : A rotating teacup with a green fellow inside. Attack Movements: Randomly whirling their way through the level, they also have the Walk Through Walls ability, meaning that they can just go anywhere they please. Toughness : One hit. Strategy : Theses guys are tough to trap due to their ability to pass through walls, but they are rather slow. So, move in and lay Bombs near them, as they will often be unable to outrun the Explosive Radius. Basic Points : 400. o--------o | U.F.O. | o--------o Appearance : These grey, metallic, cigar shaped guy is not necessarily from outer space, but he does fly through the air. Attack Movements: The U.F.O. will generally move about at it's own accord, that is until it draws near to your Bomberman. At this point it will switch from passive mode to aggressive mode as it begins to seek you out actively. Toughness : Two hits. Strategy : As it starts to follow you, lay a Bomb or two to dissuade the pursuit. However, if you are looking to kill it, wait till you open some space between you and it, drop a Bomb, wait for a second or two to draw it near, and then sprint into a side passageway for safety from the Explosive Radius. Basic Points : 3200. o--------o | Bosses | o--------o ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Hammer Man ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This huge baddie will float above the bricks in the room, stopping occasionally to swing his huge mallet at the ground, sending some pieces of the floor flying. Both the Hammer strike and the chunks of concrete will kill your Bomberman if they make connectionso steer clear of these obstacles. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Electric Clown ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This alleged funny man is a giant, floating head that chases your Bomberman around the arena. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Pincer Bot ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An evil scientist guy will retreat back into Pincer Bot, which moves back and forth across the top of the screen, stopping periodically. When it stops, if it's hatch is blocked off by a wall, it will throw at least one of it's pincers down towards the bottom of the screen in an attempt to hit your Bomberman (also note that the arms are deadly to the tough even though they are harmless looking). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Boxer Bomberman ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This massive fellow will bounce all around the arena, moving in a clockwise direction. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Evil Bombermen Arena ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You have stumbled into an arena where fans watch the Evil Bombermen fight for their enjoyment. You are now the target of all the other Bombermen there, which can be identified by their slanted eyes and remorseless fighting style. They too can pick up Power-Ups whenever they appear, so be sure to beat them to the goods! There are a few rules to understand about the Evil Bombermen Arena: i) They will begin their battle with an Asbestos Vest (just like you do for every level/life), so avoid them till this wears off. ii) They too can pick up Power-Ups whenever they appear, so be sure to beat them to the goods! iii) After every battle, your time limit WILL NOT reset, meaning that you will need to collect Alarm Clocks to save your built up cache of Power-Ups. iv) Many Power-Ups will appear during the fights as well as on the death of an Evil Bomberman, so be ready to go get those valued treasures. v) If you enter the arena with just a single player, only one of each type of Bomberman will appear. if two players are in play, the first time a new Evil Bomberman set is due to enter the ring will bring in two of that type. vi) Although they are just palette swaps in the graphics department, some of the Evil Bombermen have different characteristics, so check out each type listed below for specifics. Evil Bomberman: White. Toughness : One hit. Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius. Password : 5252 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Evil Bomberman: Black. Toughness : One hit. Password : 4224 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Pink. Toughness : Two hits. Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius. Password : 1264 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Purple. Toughness : Two hits. Equipment : One Bomb and no Explosive Radius. Password : 3232 Not a lot to say here, except that you should try to overwhelm him with tons of Bombs, trapping and then incinerating this weakling. Note that this one is twice as tough as the previous combatants. Evil Bomberman: Alien. Toughness : Five hits. Equipment : One Bomb, Kicking Boot, and Golden Explosive Radius. Password : 0273 This nasty fellow has some Power-Ups in the Golden Explosive Radius as well as the Kicking Boot for escaping from trapped areas. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~ Spider Robot ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Spider Robot will move around the arena, stopping it's eye over an intersection, at which point it will begin lobbing many Bombs into the air. At this point it will shield it's eye by covering it, and then it will uncover to either move or launch more Bombs. Your job is to Bomb the eye while it is vulnerable, hitting it seven times. Stay within the explosion range of the first Bomb and it will ignite over you, setting off the next Bomb you are about to drop. If you keep this up, you can be a walking wall of fire for a limited time, as you begin the level with the Asbestos Vest every time. just remember to stop before the flashing wears off, or you will be in a world of hurt. b) Try to not blow every wall away, as you can use them to your advantage. Enemies who are unable to pass through walls can often be cornered by a well placed Bomb, earning an easy kill. c) If you have the Punching Glove power, you can use it to land Bombs inside contained areas. This is especially useful for those contained areas where enemies are trapped, making them sitting ducks for your arial attack. d) The Kicking Boot allows the sliding of a Bomb along the ground at an enemy position to try and incinerate them, but you can also directly kick a Bomb into an enemy to kill them before it even explodes! This will also earn your Bomberman more points than normal for the kill. e) Try to eliminate all of the Sentient Bombs as soon as possible when finding a level they inhabit.
