The Penultimate Pro Action Replay code for The 7th Saga (tm) Version 1.98 11/24/99 by MindWanderer After browsing the web for months and finding only half- accurate, less-than-half-useful cheat codes for this game, I was finally able to create a useful and comprehensive code list. These codes will allow you to start a new game with your character's initial stats as whatever you like. What this page does not have: Game Genie (tm) codes of any sort. Complete equipment listing by hexadecimal value. Any kind of in-game walkthroughs or hints. What's new in version 1.98: The values for each ability for each character. Thanks to Brian Dang. What's new in version 1.11: A few more examples and more elaborate instructions for using the codes. What's new in version 1.1: How starting experience codes work. "Progression" stat codes. Some incomplete equipment codes. How to get the most out of these codes. That much said, here's how the codes work. These codes are for the Pro Action Replay gamecheat unit. The actual device for the SNES was not sold in the United States, and good luck finding one. These codes were derived and tested using an emulated version on the PC. Visit http://www.zsnes.com for more info about that, and the documentation of your emulator for instructions on how to use PAR codes in general. USING THESE CODES: You need to have the codes of your choice activated when you start a new game. You'll be able to see them in action on the character select screen, but as soon as you begin in Lemele's throne room, the codes will -never again have any effect-. This means 1) you can save, turn the game off, and restart without the codes, and they will still be in effect, and 2) if you want your companion to benefit from the codes, you have to have the codes for him or her turned on when you start, too. This even applies to the "progression" codes, as they are considered character stats. *NOTE* There are two versions of The 7th Saga. If the codes below don't work, change the first "6" to an "E". HIT POINTS FOR EACH CHARACTER Kamil, Human Fighter: C0623Fxx Olvan, Dwarf Fighter: C06251xx Esuna, Elf Mage: C06263xx Wilme, Alien: C06275xx Lux, TETUJIN: C06287xx Valsu, Human Priest: C06299xx Lejes, Demon: C062ABxx The xx in each code represents a hexadecimal value from 00 to FF. So, to start as Kamil with 255 HP, you would enter C0623FFF. If you don't know how to use hexadecimal, learn, find someone who does, or use a calculator with hex. You'll need it to use these codes. Try using the above code for Kamil's HP first. If it doesn't work, you may have the other version, so try C0623FFF instead. If it still doesn't work, you're doing something wrong- consult your PAR's or emulator's documentation and make sure you followed the instructions under "using these codes" above. To affect other statistics, simply increment the 5th and 6th digits of the above code by the amounts below: HP's extended: +01 (to create values above 255 use both HP codes) MP's: +02 MP's extended: +03 Power: +04 Guard: +05 Magic: +06 Speed: +07 HP's earned per level: +08 MP's earned per level: +09 Power earned per level: +0A Guard earned per level: +0B Magic earned per level: +0C Speed earned per level: +0D Weapon: +0E Armor: +0F Shield: +10 Experience: +11 So, to change Lejes' Speed to 255, you would enter: C062ABxx + 07FF _________ C062B2FF You can make your starting experience value as high as 140 (8C) without problems, but if you make it any higher, you'll need several billion experience to reach level 2. So basically the most you can do is reach level 2 after winning your first fight of the game. EQUIPMENT To use the three equipment-altering codes, you need to know the hex value of the piece of equipment you want. The following codes will give you most of the best equipment: 73: Doom sword- Lejes' best weapon 7F: Kryn fist- Lux's best weapon 8A: Immo axe- Olvan's best weapon 8B: Sword sword- Wilme's best (and only) weapon 96: Immo rod- Valsu and Esuna's best weapon A1: Kryn mail- Kamil and Olvan's best armor B2: Immo shirt- Valsu, Esuna, and Lejes' best armor BF: Immo shield- Kamil and Olvan's best accessory C8: Scarf- Lejes' best accessory CB: Bril crown- Valsu and Esuna's best accessory 2F: A null item with a strength of 260 5D: Water rune 5E: Wind rune 5F: Star rune 60: Moon rune 61: Light rune 62: Sky rune Note that anyone can use these codes to wear any piece of equipment in any slot. If you want a rune without adventuring for it, start with it in your weapon slot and buy a new weapon as soon as you start. I don't know how this effects the progress of the game, and I don't know what happens to these "copy" runes when you lose them during the game. I still haven't found the codes for the Vict sword or the Blck. *NEW* Complete character/ability listings! Thanks to Brian Dang, I know have all the values for each stat for each character. So to use them, start with C062 or C0E2, then the value from the chart below, then the hex code for the value you want that stat to have. (They'll be lined up right in a sans serif font.) Do -not- ask me how to use the codes, or why your codes don't seem to work. All the help I gan give you is already here.
