Thanks to Tohokingdom.com for their large database of Godzilla merchandise and info! --------------------------------------- ------------ 2. mechanics ------------ Godzilla Bakutou Retsuden is a fighting game much in the vein of the likes of Street Fighter 2 in that you have the choice of pitting a wide variety of the Godzilla franchise's Kaijus against one another. Each character have their own set of unique moves (which we'll get to in a second) but there are also a handful of universal mechanics as well. They are as following: the D-pad is used to move left and right, pressing down will make your monster crouch and holding back from your opponent makes you guard against incoming attacks. Button I is used to jump and button II is used to perform standard attacks or special moves if pressed after certain d-pad directions have been punched in. You have a special meter below the health-bar which will drain in various doses after performing certain attacks and will recharge over time. Pressing the d-pad towards your opponent when close will initiate a grab, from there you can enter certain commands but if you're not fast enough, your opponent can counter with a grab of their own. In story-mode, there are only single rounds while in Versus, you'll have to win two out of three to win. ------------------------------------------- --------------------------- 3.Action naming explanation --------------------------- 1: down-back 2: down 3: down-forward 4: back 5: neutral 6: forward 7: up-back 8: up 9: up-forward I: jump button II: Attack button !: Press and hold input h-: Hold input for 3-seconds j.: while jumping c.: while crouching ->: follow-up from move above g.: while grabbing f.: While flying (Rodan/Mechagodzilla II only command) (M)/(H)/(C): Moderate, High and continuous meter usage (j.)/(f.): move can be done in the air as well as on the ground /: can press either button +: press both buttons t-: light tap ------------------------------------------------- ------------- 4. Secret unlocks ----------------- When you play through the game for the first time, you'll notice that several of the end-game opponents are grayed-out. Unlocking one of them to fight and, if you win, unlock for play requires meeting certain point-requirements. It might seem a rather daunting task at first, but there are some tricks to it. 1. The difficulty you choose does not matter 2. Go for perfect victories as they'll net you tons of points! 3. Spam Godzilla's Atomic Pulse for all its worth, it'll give you much more points than any other move! ------------------------------------------------------- There is a code that allows you to refight any opponent, including bosses. To get this secret mode, all you have to do is go to the title-screen, Press and hold 9+II and then Press run. You'll then be sent to the mode selection as usual, However, Godzilla's roar will change. From there, hold Select and press 6 4 times, 8 3 times, 4 2 times, 2 once and then press II. If you did it correctly, you'll then be able to choose your difficulty and then be sent to the enemy selection menu. Note that you need to have beaten the enemies before they'll show up. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- 6. Legalities ------------- This move-list and all of its contents can be freely used by anyone. I implore you all to spread this information in whatever way you wish to increase awareness of this game! That will be all. ----------------- ---------- 7.
