Intro on Devil-type ID ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Devil-type ID is a storyline ID, meaning you get it to progress more in the game. You get it after defeating Saint Germain in the Eneomaos Machine Tower. Unlike other IDs, the Devil-type has no branching evolution, just a straight line. So there's no need for any decisions for choosing which form you want. For abilities, the Devil-type doesn't have anything special, just Magic Circle and 3 attacking variants of it, which consume Hearts pretty quick. You're better off just using the normal Magic Circle when needed to get through the tiny crevices. The Devil ID is basically a flying battle-ID w/o the abilties, and gives a decent stat boost to all stats. ----------------------------------------------------------------- II. Abilities ----------------------------------------------------------------- All abilties of the Devil-type involve Magic Circle, in which you and your ID turn into a circle on the ground, that can crawl under small crevices. While in this state, you can't get hurt, but Hearts drain while like this. Using the Normal M. Circle, you can't fight back either, but he has 3 versions that you use to fight back with, although not that great. Form: Gale Abilities: Magic Circle How to get: Innate Skill Comments: This is all you really need, the other 3 aren't neccessary. Form: Brow Abilities: Scissor M. Circle, Needle M. Circle How to get: Simply defeat enemies like you would for any other skill. Comments: These 2 abilities do low dmg, better off fighting normally. Form: The End Abilities: Explosion Magic Circle How to get: Defeat 20 enemies lvl 30 or higher w/o taking damage. Comments: If charged to max, does 1000 dmg to normal enemies and 100 dmg to bosses. ----------------------------------------------------------------- III. Evolution Path ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Devil-type has the most simple evo chart; it's just a straight line. However, getting the final form requires you to have a certain weapon. Evolution: Gale -> Brow How to get: Simply get 200 evo crystals (any kind) Evolution: Brow -> The End How to get: Obtain 100 evo crystals while using the Chauve-Souris --------------------------------- A. How to make the Chauve-Souris (Isaac's Spear) --------------------------------- Materials Needed: - 1 Trident - 1 Versatile Spear - 1 Devil's Vein - 1 Dark Crystal For info on how to get the materials listed, check out section C For those that are wondering, "Chauve-souris" is French for "bat" The Chauve-Souris is also needed to make Death's Scythe, so make 2 of these spears, or be sure to evolve your devil ID first before using the spear to make the scythe. --------------------------------- B. How to make the weapons needed --------------------------------- Trident: - 1 Sasumata - 1 Ether - 1 Aquamarine Versatile Spear: - 1 Trident - 1 Naginata - 1 Ether - 1 Phlogiston Naginata: - 1 Sasumata - 1 Steel Sasumata: - 1 Ceremonial Tool - 1 Spirit of Fuji For info on how to get the materials listed, check out section C --------------------------------- C. How to get the materials --------------------------------- Ceremonial Tool Steal from Vassago: Use Square+X to do a jump attack that sends them upward, then quickly steal. Where to find Vassago: Forest, Cordova, or Dracula's Castle B1F. ------- Spirit of Fuji Rare drop from: Wizards Steal from Lesser Demon: Wait until they do a dive attack from you, steal while they're coming at you. Where to find Lesser Demon: Garibaldi Temple ------- Aquamarine Steal from Fishman: Wait until they roll up into a ball, steal when they're coming at you. Where to find Fishman: Mortvia Aqueduct ------- Ether Steal from Lizard Shaman: Keep away so they do their flamethrower attack, they sneak in and steal. Where to find Lizard Shaman: Cordova Town ------- Phlogiston Steal from Flame Demon: You have to knock them into the air and then steal. There are a ton of ways to go about this: - Steal Method 1: Use a Battle-type ID and make him use Brute Force, and then quickly jump or be in the air beforehand then steal. - Steal Method 2: Use Square+X to do the jump attack, then quickly jump again then steal. Where to find Flame Demon: Forest, right before the Tower of Eternity, there's a lot of them. ------- Devil's Vein - You can get 2 throughout the game, excluding Boss Rush Mode. 1st one Steal from Isaac (First fight): I can't remember how to make his steal window to appear, but he should do the attack appear often. Note: If you didn't get it from him the first time, you have to wait until Boss Rush mode, since you can't steal it from him the second time you fight him (You steal Cheese from him). 2nd one After defeating Dullahan, the water is drained in a lot of areas. After this is done, go to the Forest, and go to areas where there was once water near the pathways, there is a new area where you can find a chest w/ the Devil's Vein. Can also find a Western Toilet for the chair sidequest. ------- Dark Crystal Steal from Evil Core: Simply hit them once and then steal. Where to find Evil Core: Right before Legion, there's a ton of them. To get to Legion's area, go to Garibaldi Temple, and go to the area w/ 4 squares and a plus sign inbetween them. There's a room to the SW of there that requires the devil-type's Magic Circle to get under a hole. Simply keep continuing until you reach the area. --------------------------------- D. Quick Summary of all materials needed --------------------------------- - 3 Ceremonial Tools - 3 Spirit of Fuji - 1 Steel - 2 Aquamarine - 3 Ether - 1 Phlogiston - 1 Devil's Vein - 1 Dark Crystal Double this if you plan on having both Chauve-Souris and Death's Scythe ----------------------------------------------------------------- V.
