Milestones are bonuses that add to your stats. For example: if 2 of the exact same characters were maxed in stats but one had more milestones than the other, he would be stronger. If you want to see this for yourself go make 2 characters in story mode with the same fighting style then get one character to unlock a milestone and compare his stats on the choose fighter screen in battle mode, they will be higher than the character with no milestones. They are shown in the Gym in story mode where you add points to your stats. They are represented by dots and a percentage, each dot is worth 20%. There are 5 milestones per stat equaling in 100% for each stat. The dots are filled in when you unlock a milestone. The game never tells you when you unlock a milestone so you must constantly check back in story mode to see if it's unlocked. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 3. - How to unlock them Milestones are unlocked by completing certain objectives such as doing a certain move a certain amount of times or getting a certain amount of bonuses. To unlock the milestones you need to do the following: Upper Body - 40% - Learn Street Fighting Style 20% - Learn Wrestling Style 20% - Land 100 Punches 20% - Land 5000 Punches Lower Body - 40% - Learn Kickboxing Style 20% - Learn Submissions Style 20% - Land 100 Kicks 20% - Land 5000 Kicks Speed - 40% - Learn Martial Arts Style 20% - Learn Kickboxing Style 20% - Land 250 Running Attacks 20% - Run for 250 Seconds Toughness - 40% - Learn Wrestling Style 20% - Learn Street Fighting Style 20% - Record 1 Big Comeback Bonus 20% - Record 4 Close One Bonuses (See toughness section) Health - 40% - Learn Submissions Style 20% - Learn Martial Arts Style 20% - Record 5 Perfect Match bonuses 20% - Successfully Block 500 Attacks + Successfully Counter 100 Attacks Charisma (hidden) - 20% - Record 25 Crowd Double-Team Moves 20% - Record 250 Environmental Attacks 20% - Record 5 Crowd Favorite Bonuses 20% - Perform 5 Blazin' Moves 20% - Finish Story Mode This guide will go into detail about the easiest ways to get all these bonuses. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 4. - Before We Begin Make sure you have 2 controllers. The time it would take without 2 controllers would really suck. You take player 1 and leave the second controller on the ground as a dummy for you to beat up on. Getting all the milestones as fast as possible still takes a long time but without 2 controllers I guess it would take four times as long, I don't even want to think about that. A general understanding of the game is required for this guide; I hope you know how to do moves. All of the unlocking can be done in Battle mode (which is multiplayer by the way) so no need to go against any of the computer opponents in this. I recommend only doing 1 milestone per stat per match just so you know which milestone you got. So you can do 1 milestone from each stat per match if you'd like. Once you think you've completed a milestone go check your character in single player and see if you got the milestone. If you didn't, then go do another match and do some more of the requirements. The requirements do not have to be filled in 1 match. Just as long as you save your character you can take as many matches as you want to do these. I would also suggest doing a bit more then the requirements just to be sure so you don't have to waste 5 minutes doing a fight for a few measly punches. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 5. - Upper Body Milestones You can get 2 milestones from learning the streetfighting fighting style and 1 milestone from learning the wrestling fighting style. 5a. - 100 Punches ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Punching a guy (or girl) 100 times is extremely easy and can be done in about a minute and a half. Basically just punch once and don't go into a combo, I found it was faster just to do single punches one after another then go into combos and have to pick the other player up, but I didn't extensively test this so if you figure out that your fighting style is faster with the combos then just do that. If you can count to 100 you've got it. Punch 'em 10 extra times just for good measure just incase you miscounted. The punches must be done while standing up, they do not count if the enemy is on the ground and you do a ground attack, he must be on his feet. 5b. - 5000 Punches ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well punching someone 5000 times is easy but extremely long and boring. Don't bother counting with this one. If you want to know how long it will take you what you can do is punch the other character for a minute and see how many punches you can get off. Then just open up your calculator and do 5000/(your number). I did about 60 punches per minute so that's 83 minutes of punching. Yes I know it's not cool but you want to be strong right? *User Submitted - Quen* I know a REAL easy way you can get 5000 kicks/punches without being there to land every single punch/kick. heres what you need.. 2 Controllers (One of them has to be Turbo) A rubber band, maybe even 2. (to hold down the punch/kick button) Anyway heres what you do: plug in controller 1 as the turbo controller, and then the second controller neutral. now choose your created fighter and any other character (still neutral) and then start the battle (maybe in a cage so no one gets pushed back). when the battle starts, pause the game, turn the Turbo on, and then wrap the rubber band around the punch/kick button. then on the second controller, get another rubber band (or wrap the controller cord) so the Left Analog stick/Thumb Stick makes the 2nd player move in any direction and gets up automatically so you dont worry about punching/stomping him to death. after doing that you can go to sleep, go to work, go to school, maybe even grocery shopping. when you come back, the Kicks/punches should accumulate by a mile when you get back. so just KO your opponent (whatever way you feel like) and then go to story mode. you should have the milestone then. dont forget to turn your Rumble/Vibration off =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 6. - Lower Body Milestones You can get 2 milestones for learning the kickboxing fighting style and 1 milestone for learning the submissions fighting style. 6a. - 100 Kicks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you read the upper body milestones then you basically know how to get this. Both characters must be standing up for the kicks to count. 6b. - 5000 Kicks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Read the upper body milestones, it's the same idea, just a different button. Depending on your fighting style, the time it takes may vary. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 7. - Speed You can get 2 milestones from learning the martial arts fighting style and 1 milestone from learning the kickboxing fighting style. 7a. - 250 Running Attacks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This basically consists of you taking 2 steps back and doing a running attack at the other character and knocking him down. Pick him back up again and repeat. Only 248 more to go! 7b. - Running for 250 seconds ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This should be done after the 250 running attacks milestone because that will build up some running time. You have to be efficient. If your doing these milestones in order then this will be the first one you have that requires a little more involvement. You can't run forever, no that would be too easy, the amount of time you can run is based off how close you are until you get a blaze. The bar is also like a stamina bar for running and when you run you use it up, don't worry, when you run you don't actually lose your bar. We want to run for longer periods of time so what you have to do if beat up the other character until your character is ready to blaze. But don't blaze just yet, you now have unlimited stamina so start running across the arena side to side. In about 35 seconds this mode will wear off so before it does activate blaze mode and you now can run until blaze mode wears off which is also roughly 35 seconds. Its not easy keeping track of how many seconds you've ran for so I wouldn't bother, just make some good judgment of how much time you've spent and then end the match and check to see if you got the milestone. I would say do 5 blazes, which is 70 seconds of unlimited stamina and id guess about 50 of those seconds are where you are actually running. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 8. - Toughness You can get 2 milestones from learning the wrestling fighting style and 1 milestone from learning the streetfighting fighting style. The toughness requirements are a bit of a mystery and kind of screwy. It was initially thought that the requirements were 25 big comeback bonuses and 10 last man standing bonuses but we now know that's not the case. But wait there's more. If you get 1 of these milestones you cannot get the other. So toughness cannot be 100%. 8a. - 1 Big Comeback Bonus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To get this bonus you must regain 40% or more of your health after your health was in the red zone. So basically have the other character beat you up until your health is in the red then take your character and beat him to death for hurting you. You most likely will have all your health regained by the time you defeat the other character but if not then just wait till it regains. After the match it will show the screen where it has all your bonuses and how much money you got for the match. In those bonuses there should be a big comeback bonus. That's all there is to it. This is a lot easier then the 25 some people thought they had to do, including me. 8b. - 4 Close One Bonuses (?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now this bonus is still mostly a mystery. Since you can only get one of these 2 bonuses I would suggest you get the big comeback, since it only takes 1 match. But if you would like to do this one then go ahead, but I'm still not completely sure if this is even the right condition because I did get the milestone for this but other people have taken 5 close one bonuses to get the milestone so I'm pretty sure its not the close one bonus at all, but when you go for the bonus your milestone will show up. If anyone has any info on this please contact me. Anyways, here's how to do it. A close one bonus is awarded for defeating your opponent when you are in the red zone. So basically what you have to do is get your character so beat up that he can't regain any health and he is in permanent red zone because if he can still regain health he will do it fast and most likely get out of the red zone before you defeat your opponent. The bonus will show up after the match the same way the big comeback bonus did. Do this 4 or 5 times and check if you got a milestone for it. If you let your health recharge too much then you will get a big comeback bonus and then you will be unable to get the milestone for this. And don't bother getting 3 close ones and then on your fourth match getting a big comeback and a close one bonus, it still doesn't let you have both. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 9. - Health You can get 2 milestones from learning the submissions fighting style and 1 milestone from learning the martial arts fighting style. 9a. - 5 Perfect Match Bonuses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This bonus might already be complete if you did 5 matches without getting hurt. If you did this guide in order you probably already have this. If not then just win 5 matches without taking any damage by just beating up on your second unmanned controller. The bonuses show up after you have won the match on the screen where it shows how much money you gain from the match. 9b. - 500 Blocks + 100 Counters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is sort of a 2 part milestone. The whole thing is easier if you have another person able to pick up the second controller and help you do these. If not then have 1 hand on your characters controller holding the block button so you're constantly blocking. You can take the button down if you'd like. Then just get the other controller to keep attacking you. Its only 500 attacks so it won't take too long, maybe 10 minutes, but I didn't count. The countering takes a little more effort. To counter an attack you must have your character press the direction you are facing then quickly press block slightly after you press the direction. This is almost the same as pressing it at the same time but you must press the stick first or else the counter won't happen. It just takes some practice. If done correctly your character will do a counter animation. You can try this out without having your opponent near you. You must counter a punch or kick from your opponent 100 times. This is all about timing. If you don't have another person to man the second controller here's what you do (note I am using the ps2 controller, so the Xbox controller will be a different method): take controller 1 (your character) in your dominant hand and place your thumb on the left thumb stick, then take your index finger (the one right beside the thumb) and place it on r1 which is the block button. Wrap the rest of your hand around the right grip of the controller. So this should enable you to press the thumb stick right and r1 easily. With your other hand have the second controller on the floor in front of you and you can now tap the attack button easily. Now position your character so that he is facing right just because it's easier to press right on the thumb stick than any other direction. Press the attack button on the second controller and as soon as you do that, try to counter it with your character. It takes some practice to get the timing right but at least its only 100 counters. This is much easier with another person helping you out. If you successfully counter an attack your character will do a move on the other one and may knock him down. Position yourself so you are facing right again and pick him up and do it again. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 10. - Charisma Charisma is a hidden stat so you can't actually check if you achieved the milestones or not. The only way I know of checking your charisma is by going into battle mode and looking at your characters stats. Charisma is not only affected by milestones though, so don't use this bar to judge how many milestones you have gotten. Just make a guess as to how many you completed. 10a. - 25 Crowd Double-Team Moves ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is pretty easy. Just grapple your opponent and throw him into the crowd and he will bounce back and you will do a move on him. 25 of these and you're done. 10b. - 250 Environmental Attacks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Environmental attacks are when you throw your opponent into an object in the environment and proceed to smash his face into it by doing another grapple when he is against the object. 250 seems kind of steep mainly because you can easily k.o. your opponent with these. So if you really want to do this I would suggest picking a character with high toughness and health just so you can do more of these in a match. Once your opponent is in the red, let his health regenerate or else 1 more environmental attack will finish him. 10c. - 5 Crowd Favorite Bonuses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This bonus can be won by having the crowd on your side by the end of the match. Basically an easy way of doing this is by beating up your opponent pretty quickly and you must use at least 1 weapon attack during the match. A good arena to do this is the foundation because they have bottles on the speakers so that's a quick weapon. The bonus shows up after the match where it shows how much money you gained from the match. 10d. - 5 Blazin' Moves ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do 5 blazin' moves. This might take 2 or 3 matches. If you don't know how to do these then I'm amazed because if you're doing these milestones and you have a custom character, so that means you did the weak little tutorial they gave you where it tells you how to do a blazin' move. 10e. - Finish Story Mode ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beat story mode with your custom character. Pretty much self explanatory. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 11. - Closing I hoped you enjoyed this guide and can learn more about the game from it Thanks to Ersk316 for info on the milestone requirements.
