Been a while! 03/09/16 ------------------------------ c) What is the police scanner? ------------------------------ The police scanner is the radio in emergency vehicles that police officers use to communicate with each other and let them know of any crimes and other incidents that the police and/or emergency services should attend to. ---------------------------- d) How I recorded the script ---------------------------- This is what I did to record the police scanner script. I entered an emergency vehicle and went to the audio menu from the pause screen. I listened to the messages while wearing headphones so I didn't p-off my parents due to the noise. I also recorded the messages using my TV's VCR feature. If there were any messages I couldn't make out, I simply played them again and again until I figured out what was said. In 2007, something great happened. Someone called Aleander Kroger emailed the police scanner files to me! But they were .ogg files. I eventually found some software that let me convert them to wav files. This has made listening to the messages a LOT easier! It has also allowed me to correct numerous mistakes. ---------------- e) About the FAQ ---------------- Due to the quality of the scanner reception, I may have made a few mistakes. Let me know if I have made any mistakes. The messages/conversations are now in the order of the files on my computer. The time when they are heard on the scanner varies a lot. If there are some asterisks (***) between conversations/messages, it means there is a long pause between them. ------------------------ f) Police scanner script ------------------------ Okay, that's enough info about the FAQ, the police scanner and how I recorded the script.
