Copyright ============================================================ Introduction ============================================================ Welcome to the Mega Man X Collection Changes Guide. This guide will cover any differences between the Mega Man X Collection game and the original SNES / PSX version games that were ported over. This guide is made for the PS2 version of Mega Man X Collection, so this guide might not apply to the GameCube version. This will not cover everyday questions about the game, only the differences between them. It was intended to be this way so if you are looking for a guide to help you with the game, click the 'Back' button on your browser and find a different guide. Also, realize that there are spoilers in this guide. Some critical plot elements might be revealed, so do not read any more if you don't wish to learn about these plot points. ============================================================ Mega Man X1 ============================================================ -Thunder Slimer is now a deeper shade of blue. However, the bubbles are still the original color. -The Energy Meter makes a different sound when filling up. -When Zero destroys the arm holding X, it makes a 'hurt' sound. -All slowdown is removed. -Multi-hitting weapons such as Storm Tornado now make a loud buzzing noise when hitting an enemy. -X no longer says "Hadoken!" -The normal Stage Select music is delayed by a fraction of a second. -The music in the Cast of Characters abruptly cuts off instead of fading out. -The music in the Credits abruptly cuts off instead of fading out. -X says "Damn" in the introduction. -Sigma leaves out the "have" in "Why have you done this to us?!" -In the Ending, the "who" in "but those who sacrificed themselves" is left out. -Doing the tunnel glitch in Flame Mammoth's stage now causes the background to turn green instead of yellow. -The text sound is different. -The lightsaber now makes a whirring sound when Sigma summons it. -The D-Rex Tank sometimes freezes for awhile after it launches the energy balls instead of immediately charging them up again. -In the manual, Dr. Cain's Journal was abridged. -Game can now be saved as opposed to using normal passwords. However, the password option is still available. -The soundtracks are streamed, causing the music to fade out and then fade back in. ============================================================ Mega Man X2 ============================================================ -The diagnostics page now appears automatically instead of inputting the code. For the GameCube, the code changed to holding down the A button on the second player's controller. -The charging sound in the intro now stays throughout the title screen. -When you save in X2, you must start from the first X-Hunter stage instead of the one you saved at. In the original version, the passwords allowed you to start anywhere. -All slowdown is removed. -Game can now be saved as opposed to using normal passwords. However, the password option is still available. -The soundtracks are streamed, causing the music to fade out and then fade back in. ============================================================ Mega Man X3 ============================================================ -The passwords that gave you the abilities of two-three of the enhancement chips no longer work. -The Copyright information appears below the title when the title is appearing on the screen. -The boss theme is delayed a fraction of a second before starting -In Gravity Beetle's stage, the music is delayed about half a second before starting. -Load times are drastically shorter. -Screen is now full screen. -Game can now be saved as opposed to using normal passwords. However, normal passwords can still be used. ============================================================ Mega Man X4 ============================================================ -Load times are drastically shorter. -When encountering Slash Beast, he growls several times. In the original, he only growled once. -The final boss music starts earlier than normal. -The final boss music cuts off when Final Sigma appears. ============================================================ Mega Man X5 ============================================================ -Text sound is different. -The Enigma and the Shuttle now have a greater chance of NOT destroying the colony. -Load times are drastically shorter. -Rumble support has been completely removed. -Some occurrences of the word "it's" have been have been changed into "8's" and "B's". ============================================================ Mega Man X6 ============================================================ -Load times are drastically shorter. -Voices were removed in cutscenes. -The mistake in the original (switching the icons for the Speedster and the Hyper Dash parts) has been corrected, from what I see. -Rumble support has been completely removed. ============================================================ Mega Man Battle & Chase ============================================================ -Load times are drastically shorter. -Must be unlocked to play by beating X1, X2, and X3. ============================================================ Credits ============================================================ Capcom, for creating this game.
