I have translated a few of the main screen menus though it may not be 100 % correct but nonetheless its still useful especially the statistics in the development menu. Main Stage -------------------------- This is where you play the story mode. Once you cleared a particular stage, you can replay it anytime in the Cleared Stage. Most of the Bonus Missions can be unlocked when you progress through the story mode. Equip menu -------------------------- 1st = Level 2nd = Mana 3rd = Physical Attack 4th = Magic Attack 5th = Physical Defense 6th = Magic Resistance Development menu --------------------------- 1st = Exp points 2nd = Strength (Physical Attack) 3rd = Health (HP) 4th = Intelligence (Mana) 5th = Resistance (Magic Resistance) 6th = Agility (Physical Defense) Items for sale in the Development menu ------------------------------------------------------ 1st = Increases 1 orange orb of your life bar 2nd = Increases your Strength 3rd = Increases Health 4th = Increases Intelligence 5th = Increases Agility 6th = Increases Resistance 7th = Moon jewel (Can be bought once and gives only Raiko the Moon Sword) *Note : All the items only increases for the specific character you buy for and not the entire team* Cleared Stage --------------------------- This menu brings up all the stages you have cleared previously in the story mode. You can use all of the characters in the stages here as oppose to the story mode. You can view the data of each stage by selecting any stage then pressing Y. Use the directional pad to select other stages. Options --------------------------- The various game options are availiable here, control config, sounds etc. The save and load options are also in here. =============================================================================== SECTION THREE : Walkthrough =============================================================================== The game's basically straight forward, though there are a few stages that have some puzzles. I will update this section again when i have more the information. Prelude ------------- You are using Abeno Seimei, there's nothing much to do except kill the demons scattered in the stage and head down the path to the lake where Raiko's sword is kept. Cutscene Stage 1 ------------- Now you are in control of Raiko, kill the bird demons ahead of you and a cutscene will show more bird demons. Finish them off. Another cutscene will appear and the stage is cleared. Stage 2 ------------- After the cutscene, you need to defeat the 6 white ghosts (which I'll name them puppets). They will fly off if you are near them. The puppets will summon more demons to attack you while they position themselves at the back and launch magic attacks at you. All you need to do is go for the puppets, equip the dragon spell, lock on and give them a few zaps. They will fall pretty easily. After defeating all 6, a cutscene appears and the stage is cleared. Take note that the puppets' magic attack can seal off your magic meaning that you are unable to use magic attacks and lose your ability to dash. I suggest equiping the accessory item which can prevent sealing magic (It looks like a red comb). Stage 3 ------------- In this stage, the enemies are all spiders. You will need to defeat all the giant spiders, there are 6 in total. The rest of the smaller spiders can left alone as a cutscene will appear once you defeated last giant spider. Take note that spiders have a final attack when they are about to die, therefore do not get to close as they will explode infront of you causing major damage, especially the giant ones. Stage 4 ------------- The puppets have returned in this stage. You need to destroy everyone of them here. There are a total of 10 puppets here. Like before they will flee when whenever you approach them. So I suggest equiping dragon spell and red comb item combination for this stage. Once the last puppet is defeated a cutscene ensues and the stage is cleared. Take note that the puppets here have the ability to 'possess' the wood statues scattered in the stage. Therefore its wise to destroy the wooden statues before the puppets 'possess' them as they can take quite a beating before they crumble, Stage 5 ------------- This is a a rather straight forward stage, not much to explain here. All you need is to progress through defeating the stone head demons and the giant skeletons. After defeating the skeletons, you have to jump into a pit. Here there are couple of chains binding the structure, which you need to destroy. After this, there will be scores and scores of stone head demons materialising, you don't have to kill every one. Just survive the onslaught, the stage will be cleared once a cutscene appears. Stage 6 ------------- Here you need to prevent the ships from reaching the magic barriers. All the ships have a weak point which is the big circular mirror on the deck. The smaller ships can be easily destroyed when you hit their mirrors. The larger ships will require a few hits before they sink. The top fan is the hp for the larger ship, the bottom fan is the hp for the magic barrier. Once the hp for the magic barrier is depleted the stage is lost. A cutscene will appear once you defeat the 1st large ship, you will need to destroy 2 large ships before another final cutscene appears to clear the stage. Take note that there are puppets and a few demons here who will launch fire magic on you, just walk on the water and the flames will be doused. The larger ships will repel you away whenever you hit their weak spots. Just dash back and attack repeatedly at the weak spots. Stage 7 ------------- The aim is simple, destroy all the spider eggs in this stage. Whenever you clear an area of eggs, a cutscene will show the webs to the last cave will be burning. There will be 3 of this cutscenes before the webs to sealing the last cave is removed allowing you to enter. In the last cave, the eggs are scattered through out including the ceilling of the cave. You need to check the lava as there are a few jutting out from the surface. When you have destroyed the last egg, a cutscene will appear and the stage is cleared. Take note that those eggs which have a reddish appearance. They will explode when they are destroyed. Beware these explosive eggs can deal some major damage especially in confined spaces. Stage 8 ------------- This is a mainly a boss stage. The enemy boss here is a headless general. He will be riding a horse for the 1st part. There are 4 platforms located at each corner of the stage. When the boss reaches the top of any of the platforms, he will summon ghost riders to despatch you or lightning whenever you approach the platform. You will need to destroy 3 of the platforms as he definitely will occupy at least one before he jumps off his horse and fight you one on one. Once you defeated him, a cutscene ensues and the stage is cleared. Take note at one point when the boss begins to sheath his sword he's charging up for his power attack which can deal serious damage to your health. You can avoid it by dashing to his left or right side when he lunges at you. Stage 9 ------------- This stage has 3 parts. The 1st part starts off with you and a spider enclosed in a small area. The spider is not much of a threat, once you defeat it, a cutscene will be shown. The next part of the stage will then begin. In the 2nd part, its very similiar to the hydra chase stage in Otogi 1. Here you need to avoid the Giant Spider, by avoiding the obstacles and running away from it. Once you have almost clear the chase scene, a cutscene will play. The 3rd part will begin. The 3rd part is a boss fight between you and the Giant Spider. The Boss's weak point is its head. You need to jump or use the launching attack to reach its head. As the middle of the stage is a lake, its wise not to stay too long in the water as it drains your magic meter. This stage is quite tough if your character is not strong enough as the Boss's physical attack can take out a few orbs of your life not too mention its fire attack. I suggest training up your character and equiping items that boost your defence stat before taking it on. Once you defeat the Boss a cutscene plays and the stage ends. Take note that dashing in the chase scene is not really encouraged, as it may seem faster but i can tell you that dashing has a slow reaction when you hit the obstacles seriously slowing you down. Running and double jumping is a much easily way for passing the chase scene. Stage 10 ------------- After the opening scene ends, alot of those "floating eyes" will start to stream into the stage. You need to prevent them from attacking the tree behind you. The bottom fan represents the tree's hp, once thats depleted you lose. There are 2 puppets here which will continue to launch magic attacks and summon more demons to bother you. You can destroy them if you have the time, but i do not believe its necessary to vanquish them. Once you have prevented a number of wave of floating eyes, the final wave will form a ring and close in on you and the tree. Take them out before they destroy the tree, and once you have done that the stage is cleared with another cutscene. Take note the "floating eyes" similiar to the spiders have a exploding attack when they are destroyed. These explosive attacks deal very heavy damage and they also seals off your magic too. Don't get to close when they are destroyed to avoid their attacks Stage 11 ------------- There are 2 parts to this stage. In the 1st, you need to locate 3 cob webs scattered around the stage. Whenever you destroy a cob web, a cutscene will show the webs leading to boss area being burnt. Once all the cob webs have been destroyed, the path to the 2nd part is cleared. You need to jump down the shaft leading to the Giant Spider Boss you fought earlier. Here it is the same, the weak point is still the head. But 1st you need to destroy the Boss's stone legs before you attack its head. There are 4 stone legs on each side of the boss. Once you destroyed all of them go for the head. You will need to kill the Boss's quickly as it seems to "commit suicide" if you take too long too defeat causing you to lose the entire stage. Take note the Boss will summon alot of spiders in here, which can get very crowded. So I suggest not using the lock on command as it will mostly target the small spiders instead of the Boss's head. Just manually attack the head yourself. Beware of the fire attack the Boss launches when its almost dying, other than that its just the smaller spiders's venom attacks to avoid. Stage 12 ------------- This stage starts off with a giant skeleton. Defeat it to see the cutscene, your primary aim is to reach the end of the map and obtain the artifact. Once thats done, return to the entrance quickly as all the bottom exits have been sealed up. You will need to use the launch attack to reach the top exits. The accessory that earns more money can be found here. It is hidden in a small alcove above the walls. Once you reach the startig point, a cutscene will play, and the stage is cleared. Take note, when you reach the room just before the entrance, take care not to walk on the wooden floor. As it will collapse and the doorway will be sealed, scores of stone head demons will spawn in the pit. You will have to keep killing them until the barrier is lifted or alternatively you can smash them into the barrier to break the barrier. Stage 13 ------------- After the spectacular cutscene, you will be using Abeno Seimei. Here you need to destroy the 4 floating stone barriers. The barriers can't be destroyed by physical attacks or magic attacks so don't waste your time trying. What you need to do to destroy them is to use the summoner's throw attack and smash your enemies into the barriers. Each of the stone barrier has 4 pillars attached under it. You have to destroy every single one of them before the entire barrier is destroyed. Once the last barrier collapses to the ground, the stage will end with a cutscene. Take note there are "floating eyes" and puppets here who will try their best to distract you can seal off your magic so that you can't dash or use the launching attack to get into the air. Avoid them as they are mainly seen appearing in the middle of the crashed ship. Stage 14 ------------- This stage is similiar to the stage in Otogi 1 where you need to guide the fox spirit. Ironically this time its Raiko's spirit which you will be guiding here. You need to protect Raiko's spirit from the skeleton's attacks along the way. Raiko's spirit seems to be attracted to the lighted stone lanterns along the shore. Either you allow the spirit to progress the stage by land or the sea by destroying all the stone lanterns ahead. I would suggest you destroy the lanterns as the approach by the sea is much easier as you only need to deal with the floating fire balls. Once you have reached the final destination with the 2 huge mirrors. A cutscene will play and the stage ends. Take note Raiko's spirit can't take too much of a beating including your own attacks regardless physical or magic. So take the battle far away from the spirit to prevent accidentally killing it. Stage 15 ------------- This is a fairly simple stage, you will have to follow the pathway leading to a boss fight. The enemies opposing you are a few giant skeletons and skeletal bats. The bats have strong magic attacks which can deal some substantial damage if you have low magic resistance. Once you reached the protruding wooden platform near the cliff, a cutscene will show the boss which is a fox demon. He has strong magic attacks including the seal magic. He's the few boss characters that can block your physical attacks. He's back is vunerable to physical attacks, so the best way to defeat him is dash to his sides to attack him. Take note the wooden platform can be destroyed take care not to fall off the cliff. Stage 16 ------------- In the cutscene, you are shown 2 spirits facing each other attached to the opposing walls. Your job here is to free them to activate the portal. Not much too explain, as it really simple, folllow either path and search for the wall which the spirits are sealed in and destroy the walls to free them. One of the spirits maybe harder to find as there's an area where there are pillars which spawn repeatedly. You need to destroy all of them to gain access to the lower area where you will find the wall sealing the spirit. Once both spirits have been released, get on top of the platform in the middle of the stage where you started. The scene will play ending the stage. Take note once a spirit is released, it will follow you and attack you relentlessly. So you might have to avoid it attacks while searching for the other spirit. Beware that the spirit has magic attacks which can cause heavy damage. Stage 17 ------------- The 5th character, Urabe Suetake is imprisoned here in this stage, and this stage has 2 parts. A chase and a boss fight. The 1st chase between you and the skeleton spirit boss. You need to find and hit him, eventually you need to jump down to the 2nd area. The next part is a boss fight. You need to defeat the skeleton spirit here. The Boss will revolve continuously around the arena, which makes it hard to use physical attacks. Make use of the dragon spell to deal him fast damage. Once its almost dead a cutscene will play. It will seek refuge in a alcove in the wall. Just dash in and use your combos to finish it. A cutscene takes place once the boss is defeated ending the stage and freeing Urabe Suetake. Take note the Boss here will keep launching magic attacks while it revolves round you. Remember to dodge or if you are fast enough, deflect the magic attacks away. Once the Boss heads into the alcove, it will launch energy attacks at you when you dash towards it dodge or deflect them back because a few blasts will put you out of action.. Stage 18 ------------- This stage requires you to save 3rd characer, Watanabe Tsuna imprison under the giant tree as shown in the intro cutscene. There a quite a number of fox demons stationed in the stage, its best not entangle with them as they are tough and they respawn again even if you manage to kill them. All you need to do to clear this stage, is to destroy the withered trees scattered in the river. And finally the giant tree that is located directly on the cliff above the imprisoned wolf character. You need to use the launch attack repeatedly to reach the cliff where the giant tree situated on. Once the giant tree is destroyed, a cutscene will play and the stage is cleared. Take note the trees are protected by a lightning barrier produced by a magic orb from the giant tree. The barriers last a few seconds before another magic orb is send to produce the lightning. Take the chance and destroy the tree after the lightning barrier fades out. If you are not fast enough, the next lightning barrier will be activated and can deal very heavy damage. Stage 19 ------------- This stage is has an artic feeling, imprisoned here is the 2nd character, Sakata Kintok . All you need to do is just follow the map and reach the boss located at the end of the stage. The enemies you will encounter here are giant skeletal bats that launch fire balls and an enemy statue similiar to the boss in Otogi 1 who always says you shall not pass or something to that extent. But this enemy's projectiles aren't fire balls but shards of ice and when hit freezes your character temporary. The 1st cutscene will show you where Sakata Kintoki is imprisoned. You will need to follow the map, eventually it leads you to the boss which is an ice serpent shown in the cutscene. Its weak point is its head, get a lock on and jump and attack it. Once its dead, a cutscene will begin showing the 2nd character being released from his icy prison and the stage ends. Take note of the winds in this stage as they can blow you off the stage when you are frozen by the statue or the boss's magic attacks. Stage 20 ------------- After the cutscene, you will face an entire fleet of ships similiar to those you encountered earlier. You only need to dash the larger ships and destroy them. The weak point is still the same, the huge mirror on the deck, it needs to be hit a few times before the ship is destroyed. The fan represents the large ship's hp. You need to destroy 2 of the large ships before the cutscene showing the final ship appears. This final giagantic has 4 mirrors on board. You need to destroy them fast before the ship crashes down to earth. The mirrors are located at the opening of the ship, one on the top roof, and the remaining 2 on the main deck of the ship. Once the last mirror is destroyed the ending cutscene is played. Stage 21 ------------- In this stage you will be facing a new enemy, the tree demons. They are agile and can pack quite a punch. Your job here is to eliminate every single one of them. There are demon trees scattered throughout the stage. There are black souls wandering near these trees. Don't get too close as they can drain your magic. If you destroy one of the trees, a cutscene will play. Once the last tree demon is destroyed, the ending cutscene will begin. Take note when you destroy the stone statues, they will release black souls to drain your magic. Just jump or dash to avoid them, they will fade away after a few seconds unlike those that wander around the trees. Stage 22 ------------- Once the intro ends, you will be facing off with another familiar Boss the giant centipede. The way to defeat the centipede is the same as in Otogi 1, the only weak point is the centipede's head. After a minutes into the battle, a cutscene will play and another giant centipede will emerge from the ocean and join its kin to confront you. Both the centipedes' hp are represented by the fans in the upper left corner of the screen. Both the centipedes will assault you with the familiar lightning attacks. Just jump or dash away to avoid their attacks. This stage will end either when you kill both centipedes and a cutscene plays or the battle ensues up to a certain time and a spectacular cutscene showing the lady summoner depatching the centipedes with her awesome magical attacks. Take note that the centipede's lightning can destroy all the surrounding ice platforms. The only indestructible platform is the middle one in the sea. Stage 23 ------------- The 2 spirits you released earlier are back in this stage. Your job is to send them back into the portal where they came from Both spirits will follow and attack you relentless, you need to make them follow you to the portal located at the end of the map. Once you reached the portal, you will see that its not activated yet. To activate the portal, destroy the stone statues positioned at each side of the portal. Once thats done, use your combos to send the spirits back through the portal. A cutscene will play and the stage is cleared. Take note the spirits' attack are still as powerful as ever, try to avoid getting hit as they will seal your magic. Stage 24 ------------- This stage has 2 parts. The 1st, after the cutscene requires you to defeat the fox demon perched on the tower in the middle of the lake. Once the fox demon leaves or falls off the tower, he has the ability to disarm your lock on. You might need to reactivate the lock on to find him. He's not much of a threat here but he likes to change his positon regularly and does have the ability to deal major damage, if you get hit by his arrow attacks. Dash away to dodge his attacks. After he's defeated, a cutscene plays beginning the 2nd part. In this part, the fox demon summons an entire army of skeletons to finish you off before his demise. Nothing much to explain here, just beware that given the chance, these skeletons can deal alot of damage even killing you. Just keep a distance from them. You will know that you defeated the last one when a cutscene plays ending the stage. Take note the black souls wandering in the middle of the lake can suck your magic when they hit. I suggest not to wandering too close to the lake and take the fights further on the land, so your magic won't be depleted too fast. Stage 25 ------------- The entire stage is shrouded in darkness, you need to find the 4 crystals scattered in the stage to light up the stage. Though not really a criteria to clear the stage, but i suggest doing it as its easier to see the enemies and where you are going. After you defeating the 1st wave of tree demons, a cutscene will show the Boss a centaur. The Boss will keep attacking you along the way until you find a crystal and destroy the roots entangling the crystal to free it. Once you free the 4th crystal the boss will stop running around, he will start attacking you with his energy beam. The attacks can be avoided by jump or dashing. Once the Boss is defeated, the ending cutscene will play. Stage 26 ------------- After the intro scene, you will have to defeat the Abeno Seimei. Semei constantly uses magic attacks to assault you. Each time a portion of her hp is depleted, she will dash off to another part of the stage. You need to keep chase her around stage Her magic attacks are variations of all the 4 houses of magic, which can take off quite a few of your hp orbs. Dash or use the surrounding to hide from her magic attacks. Once she's almost dead, she will dash off to the isle where there's a few crystal lotus for you to jump across with. Monitor your magic as when your here, your magic is probably half drained. Despatch her quickly before your magic runs out, lest she starts to hover around the isle, which can be a pain when you have lost your ability to dash in the air. Last Stage ------------- The last and final stage is a Boss fight with the giant nine tail fox. The Boss will summon small fox spirits to attack you whenever you get near it but they are relatively easy to destroy. Its only that they can seal off your magic when they hit you, so either avoid or destroyed them. The Boss's weak spot is its head. You need to get a lock on as its head is pretty small to hit manually. When a portion of its hp is depleted, a cutscene will be played. The landscape will change, and the Boss will become much aggressive and faster. Just keep attacking its head and it will soon succumb to your blade. A cutscene will appear once its dead. Take note of the Boss lunges as it deals heavy damage. Avoid it whenever it starts to move around the stage. If you clear Stage 26 prior to this stage, another cutscene will play showing the Boss becoming one with the isle to form a meteor. Your mission is to destroy the meteor before it smashes into the world below. The fan represents the meteor's hp. I suggest that you let your character free fall for a while as the weak spot of the meteor is in the bottom. You need to destroy a portion of the meteor to expose the weak spot. Once the weak spot is exposed, the entire meteor crumbles away leaving a section of it. Continue to attack it to destroy it. Once destroyed the last cutscene is played, sit back and watch the amazing ending. =============================================================================== SECTION THREE : Bonus Stages =============================================================================== The bonus stages can be access only through the main stage option. To have access to this option, you need to clear the game once and overwrite your save file. Note that when you access 2nd Play, items that have been bought in the previous game won't be up for sale again. This means that once you bought all the upgrades in the development menu once you won't be able to access it in the 2nd Play game. This applies to both the magic & accessory menus. PS : I don't know anyone notice but all characters can equip all the spells during the 2nd play as compared to the very 1st game you played where each character can only equip certain spells. =============================================================================== SECTION FOUR : Contribution and Thanks =============================================================================== I would like to thank the guys from Software for creating Otogi : Myth of Demons and Otogi :Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki.
