Introduction --------------- I just want to start off by saying that I'm making this FAQ because I have this "love" for May Lee. No one has ever made a FAQ on her so I decided that I should do a little something so people can recognize her for her potential. Her 2k2 form is by far no where as good as her 2k1 form, but she's still pretty good if you really know how to play with her. She's considered near lower to mid tier by most people. I think she's mid-tier but who cares about that junk. Let's get started. ^_^ -------------------- 2. Revision History -------------------- Version 0.1 (8-15-04) - The beginning. I'm just going to add all the stuff that's on the top of my head. I'll add more stuff later on when I can think of anything or if someone contributes something helpful to this FAQ. --------------- 3. Moves List --------------- May Lee have 2 set of moves. The default mode is her Standard Mode. Her second mode is her Hero Mode. She can switch from one mode to another which gives her different set of moves. I'll explain her moves to you later on. Moving on. =P ------------------- I. Moves Explanation ------------------------ Well... May Lee have a very interesting set of moves to work with. She have 2 modes to switch between. Her default mode is her Standard Mode and her alternate mode is her Hero Mode. Switching between the 2 modes gives you a completely different set of moves. The good thing about this feature is that you can cancel into and out of any mode through any normal or special attacks which SOMETIMES makes her a safe character to play with. Her SM is her main mode. You can use this mode to play with her high-low games (mind games). This mode is usually used as combo starters. She have combos that can start off in SM and then end in HM. This is the main mode to use if you want to do combos. Her counter is very handy. You can use the counter as an anti-air or an anti-sweep (works against most characters moves). If she successfully connects the counter, she launches the opponent in the air which sets them up for a juggle. Her lightning needle chains help you play mind games on your opponents. Her footprint hits low and her swordfish hits high (overhead). You can use this to your advantage by adding another kick after the lightning needle. These mind games don't work all the time but most people don't usually expect much from a May Lee player. They usually don't know what to expect so reading them like a book would be loads of fun. You can cancel out of any HM moves into SM if you wanted to. This is RARELY done for any reason. Her HM is her secondary mode. You can use this mode to cancel out of any SM normals or specials into this mode. I think of this mode as a "Power Mode." She have a different set of moves to work with. She doesn't have any high-low potential in this mode but you can mess around with her unblockables. Her A version of the full swing chop can be used as an anti-air. Her thunder blow helps her safely travel across the screen. Her May Lee break is a grapple move so that's self explanitory. Her DM can only be used in the air. Her SDM and HSDM needs to be used on the ground and near the opponent. Hero Uke is a parry move. Since she can't block in HM, she might as well have some defensive capability, right? Well... the "good" thing about this move is that she can cancel out of this move into any move she wants to. It's a very useful move if you know how to parry well. ---------------- 4. Combo List ---------------- Here is a list of her combos. She doesn't have as much as she had before but she still have plenty. I'm not going to add any uber fancy combos here. I'm gonna add some that's kind of hard to pull of in real combat but it's a lot more practical than what i had in mind. If you want to know all about her combos, just watch combo vids of her and you'll see it from there. All of the combos start off in SM unless I put a notice saying that it starts off in HM. I've separated the combos into 3 sections. The basic combos involves simple stuff. The advanced combos involves switching betweens stances and cancelling specials into supers. The max mode combos involves cancelling into max mode and ending it with a SDM or HSDM. May Lee doesn't really have any "true" max mode combos but I just decided to add something like that anyway. ------------------ I.
