Credits & Contact =================== Who's Mature? =================== Mature is an elegant, well-spoken and refined lady. With her feminine disposition and classy sense of fashion, she is no doubt the most beautiful female character in overall KOF series! Not to mention her graceful voice, her eye-catching fighting style and movement are consider to be most unique and chic among all the KOF characters. With semi-divine connections, she is member of Orochi-Clan. She doesn't seem to be influenced much by her Orochi power though, unlike her teammates Vice and Iori. According to HongKong offical comic books, she is controling the elemental of *Light*, although Japanese offical site does not seems to mentioned it. Mature first appears in KOF94 as a non-playable character, until KOF96, Mature and Vice cooperate with Iori Yagami in the battlefield. Although they eventually become the victim of Mr.Yagami's Riot of Blood, but Mature and Vice manage to withstood Iori's brutal attack and able to participate again in KOF98 and KOF2002, so how could you guys not love her? Mature is my best all time favour character in KOF series! In my very own opinion, Mature is very different and eye-catching then so called classic fighting game characters. I was really anxious to see her present since KOF99, and she is finally back with all the upgrade special moves and even new voices and speech! I would consider myself not yet but almost master on using her, so I decide to write this FAQ page, by hoping to share my knowledge with all the KOF and secretary appreciation fans. *grin* ====================== Mature's Profile ====================== Name: Mature Fighting Style: Speed based attack + Orochi style B-day: April.28th (She should be 30yo now) Nationality: Unknown Height: 177cm Weight: 58kg Measurement: B88. W57. H87 Blood Type: O Hobby: Playing with Machinery stuff, Sculpture (especially making Doll) Favour Sport: Snow boarding Favour Food: Chicken Best Attribute: Her leg Dislike: Pigeon, Chizuru Family Friend: Vice (They have special intro when fighting against each other) Ideal type of guy: Rugal (She has special intro with Rugal) KOF2002 Ending Quote: You can touch me, but it will cost your life! ======================================= Mature's Movelists & Overall Rank ======================================= --Button Layout-- A (Light Punch) B (Light Kick) C (Heavy Punch) D (Heavy Kick) qcf (quarter circle forward) qcb (quarter circle backward) hcf (half circle foward) hcb (half circle backward) --Normal Throws-- ***Death Blow (f or b +C)*** She grabs her opponent and squeeze his/her neck. Notice she actually throw her opponent far away from her. This is what make this move useful, consider you earn yourself more time to prepare your next attack. ***Back Rush (f or b +D)*** This move works similar to her *Death Blow*, the only difference is she would switch side with her opponent. Great move to use when you're being corner! --Special Moves-- ***Crematory: (f, B)*** Rank (8/10) Although this move doesn't look fancy nor dealing with any noticeable damage. But Creamatory does have good range and priority. Mature does two hits on her opponent, her second kick has the priority to pin down her enemy (about 3-4 steps between you and the opponent). Use it with or without combo. ***Death Claws: (qcb+A or C)*** Rank (10/10) Note: Can do consecutively up to 3 times! Death Claws should categorize as one of Mature's most valuable asset. This move should be your first choice when consider a combo attack! Even though each slash does not give you decent amount of damage. Although she has almost no start-up lag, therefore you can easily combo this move. With it's great speed and hits (each slash give you 3-hits), this move is also good for counter attack, raising Max Bar and anti-air purposes. Although if you're using A version, her 3rd slash might not have enough range, and she would be likely to missed her opponent. Therefore C version Death Claws is much preferable! However, do keep in mind, she does has some recovery lag time, so don't use it without a combo! ***Metal Massacre: (qcb+B or D)*** Rank (8/10) One of the upgrade move!! Compare with KOF98, Mature now has quick start-up and recovery lag, which make this move work much effectively then before. Use it for a suprise strike or combo or when your opponent missed an attack. When activite this move, Mature runs to her opponent and does a 3-hit slash, B version run about half range and D version run about ¾ range, and both versions does same damage. Metal Massacre have fast recovery time, and when recovering Mature would keep a safe distance from her opponent, therefore the chances you would be counter back is rather low! Another good way of using this move is when you successfully hit your opponent with air-CD attack, use this move right after for maximum damage. ***Despair: (qcf+A or C)*** Rank (9/10) One of the upgrade move!! Despair used to be notoriously known as one of Mature's awful move due to her long recovery lag. But in KOF2002, Mature seriously overcome the problem and make this move extremely deadly with practical use! A version despair works fabulous for anti-air purposes, if you see your opponent jumping toward you, use A version despair right away! C version still has quite a bit of recovery/start up lag, although she jumps higher but unless you're trying to evade a fire ball attack, otherwise A version is much preferable. (A version is comboable)! ***Da-Cide: (hcf+B or D)*** Rank (4/10) Mature swipes her hand toward her opponent, and if it connects, she quickly hurls her opponent over her to the other side. An very orochi-style move. I wonder if Vice ever taught Mature any moves? If she did, this move should be the one! Why? Because they both share the same move, although Mature's Da-Cide has lots of flaws. Once you missed or enemy blocked your attack, the start-up and recovery lag leave Mature vulnerable for any attacks. So don't use it unless you've the desire of losing, or you simply get bored of her other attacks. The most safty way of using it is.... when your opponent roll over your Ebony Tears, try activite this move, but again, you have tons of better choices in your asset, so don't bother! ***Sacrilege: (f,d,fd+A or C)*** Rank (8/10) One of the upgrade move!! When activate this move, Mature would dance in the air with a parabolic motion. This move is a lot stronger, faster & hard to evade then KOF98. Because she is able to make her opponent fall on the ground within the very first hit, which she can't back in KOF98. A version attack range is highly concentrated on the opponent then C version; so A version is preferable for combo purposes. Notice this move gives you a lot of hits, therefore the opponent would still lose certain amount of life while they block your attack, thus "This is a perfect move to use when your opponent is near fatal"! If your opponent blocked your Sacrilege, don't panic! Use her DM Heaven's Gate for back-up attack. However, if you have no max-bar at all, then use this move with caution! ***Ebony Tears: (qcf, hcb+A or C)*** Rank (9/10) Another upgrade move!! Mature's most fascinating fire-ball dedicate to distract and impede her opponents. When activate this move, she would hold both of her hands in air for a second, then unleash a huge arc curve energy wave. Once you slash out the energy wave, your Ebony Tears is able to seal off a lot of spaces, which make it handicap for your opponent to evade this attack, unless they reflect it! Compare with KOF98, she now has lesser start up lag, which is a dream-come-true. Abuse this move especially when you're far away from your opponent. If they manage to jump over, use *down C* *Despair* or *Heaven's Gate* to strike them down, if they manage to roll over, run forward and strike back with any possible combo! Use it with caution when your opponent has a reflector though! --Desperation & Max Desperation Moves-- ***Heaven's Gate: (qcb, hcf+B or D)*** Rank (9/10) Note: Press B/D at the same time for Max Version (You have to in power max mode) Mature's wonderful DM/SDM! Compare with KOF98, Mature now has MORE invincibility, although slightly lesser damage! Heaven's Gate work especially for anti-air purposes! You can also use it for combo, surpise strike or when your opponent missed an attack. If the timing is right, Mature can evade normal, special or even fire-ball attacks!! Although, if missed or blocked by your opponent, Mature could be vulnerable for any combos. When activite this move, Mature would charge forward to her opponent, if connect, she would drag them to the end of the wall and slam them in orochi-energy stream. (Red orochi-energy stream in Max version) She lost her famous high-pitch laugh when activite this move, although it has nothing to do with the practical use of this move! ***Nocturnal Light: (qcfx2 + A or C)*** Rank (10/10) Note: Press B/D at the same time for Max Version (You have to in power max mode) Compare with Heaven's Gate, she doesn't have any invincibility in this move. Although with almost no start-up lag, this move is a total gift when it comes to combo or counter attack! In addition, her Max version Nocturnal Light also has much higher damage then Heaven's Gate. However, do keep in mind, never use this move for anti-air purpose, because your opponent would either be scratch by one of your slash and blow away, or perhaps jumps over you and get him/herself a total freebie! Use it in combos or counter attack is much preferable. When activite this move, Mature would perform series of slash, follow up with a Ebony Tears. In max version, she would perform series of slashes, follow up with Death-Claws and a 3 hits Ebony Tears. She seems to be more talkative when performing her Max Nocturnal Light, but again, this is nothing to do with the overall practical use of this move. --Hidden Max Desperation Move-- ***Eternal Illusion: (f, D, C, B, f)*** Rank (7/10) Note: This move only avilable when you're in Max mode with near fatal status! (You also have to in power max mode) Mature does a Despair attack on the opponent. If connect, she would split herself like Morrigan's Darkness Illusion, and start slashing on two sides of the opponent. At the end, Mature strikes her opponent an explosion kiss! This is one of the most amazing hidden max DM in KOF2002. Although she doesn't seems to have the same practical use as how it looks, due to her start-up lag, therefore you can't combo it! The positive side is she does has 50% damage, and she has quick recovery lag in order to prevent her being counter once she missed or being blocked by her opponent. The best tactic is to use it as a surprise strike or to counter your opponent's fire-ball (sort of like Vice's DM/SDM Withering Surface). Or when Mature in max mode with low life, and she happened to be fall on the ground by her opponent, use it right after, most of the time her opponent will be likely to hit, even you missed, she won't gets strike back that easy. --Mature's Overall Rank-- Long Range Attack ability: 9/10 Close Range Attack ability: 9/10 Attack Damage: 6/10 Defense (Recovery Speed): 8/10 Speed: 10/10 Overall Rank: 9/10 She is one of the strongest female in KOF2002. Although Mature is facing the most attack strength handicap, but she can cover her only flaw with various assets she has. Mature is mostly speedy type character. Her special moves has a lot of priority to cease her opponent's move. Her two DMs/SDMs are fabulous. One work perfectly for anti-air while another works for combos! Most of her moves has fast recovery and start up lag, so that make her even more deadly compare with KOF98! ================================== Mature's Normal & Max Combos ================================== --Normal Combos-- 1. Jump C, close D, (Max Mode), Jump Bx2, Crouching Ax2, standing A, Max Nocturnal Light =========================================== Mature's overall tactics and comments =========================================== Basically Mature in KOF2002 is the "Upgrade & Stronger" version of Mature in KOF98. So she still has all the similar tactics. Mature has strong and effective standing A and B, her standing C, crouching C has good priority to cease your opponent's action, so use it often! Don't forget to get used to it her speed. Try abuse her jumping B, or standing B/C, your opponent is most likely to be hit by her kicks, and then you can combo mostly her Death Claws or Sacrilege. If you have your max gauge, try use Max Nocturnal Light for maxium damage. Abuse her Jumping Bx2 kicks, press B right after she jump, her second kick has this good priority to cancel her opponent's move. Mature's jumping B is slightly slower then KOF98, this is actually thoughts provoking. Because a lot of opponent might thought her second kick won't hit them, so if they initate any attacks, your second kick would be able to seal off their moves, if they block down, Mature can kick your opponent's upper body and start off series of combos! Beside her normal attacks, try use Ebony Tears often, her upgrade Ebony Tears is very useful. Try practice your instant reaction though... when your opponent manage to jump over, try use Crouching C or Despair or Sacrilege or Heaven's Gate for Anti-Air. Whenever you see your opponent missed a move or have recovery lag, try either give him/her a combo, or Metal Massacre or Heaven's Gate! Her upgrade CD move is strong and effective, so abuse it while she is jumping. Abuse her Ebony Tears would either lure your opponent to evade and jump closer, or they simply chicken out and keep running away. If they come closer to you. Try her good anti-air assets *CD move, crouching c, despair, sacrilege, heaven's gate or even eternal illusion* If your opponent is chicken out, don't show any mercy, dash forward your opponent and start off series of combos! *You have your Ebony tears as your shield when you dash forward* Mature's combo shouldn't be too hard *unless some of the fancy one, check the combo section* If you are a beginer. Try use Death Claws and Metal Massacre a lot in combo, and of course use Ebony Tears a lot in order to pin down your opponent, when they roll or jump over, run forward and use anti-air moves or give them a combo. Her DM/SDM Heaven's Gate is great on anti-air or when your opponent shows any lag time. Try to practice her *standing B x2/ crouching B, crouching A + Death Claw or Sacrilege* Learn your instant reaction to activite her Despair and Heaven's Gate for anti-air or counter attack! Forget about her HSDM if you are only a beginner. Because the command might be too complicated! *Not for expert player though* Sum up the overall faqs, Mature is a woman of peerless beauty with cute voice and speech. She has some very devastating moves, when use it right, she can be an aggressive, speedy and fun character to use. -- The End -- ======================= Credits & Contact ======================= --Personal Contact-- If you have any combos or anything else about Mature in KOF2002 that I forgot to mentioned.
