Hordes of midges - mutants attack all living things

In the Sursky district of the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, a mutated
black taiga midge attacked people and animals. The mutant insects
ate 10 cows alive. Local residents cannot go outside. They also
cannot release pets. Since mutant midges drinked blood almost
instantly. Insects cover the entire territory of the region with a carpet.
There are no wild animals left in the region, since all the blood has
been drunk in them. A state of emergency has been declared in the
region. The Russian army is preparing to use chemical weapons
against the invasion of these bloodsuckers. Following the attack of
mutants in the Ulyanovsk region, black blood-sucking midges attacked
the Astrakhan region of Russia. The saliva of the mutant black 
Siberian midge is poisonous, it causes burning and itching, in large
uantities, bites cause hemorrhage of internal organs and death. After
being bitten, people complain of swelling, inflammation, pain, as well
as severe allergic reactions.
10 cows died from midge bites in the vicinity of Jekabpils in Latvia.
The Latvian Society of Entomologists had previously warned about 
the observation of increased reproduction of the mutant midge. Back
in 2005, due to a massive invasion of bloodsuckers in Latvia, almost
100 cows died.
For the first time, a mutant midge, according to eyewitness accounts,
was found in garbage heaps at a military training ground in the city of
Podolsk, Russia. Some experts suggest that the mutant midges appeared
as a result of unsuccessful laboratory experiments. But there is still
no exact data.
