Its Motorola 68030 microprocessor runs at 33MHz (versus 25MHz) The 165 will ship with software enabling users connect to AppleLink electronic mail and with AppleTalk Remote Access Client software (which gives access to desktop Macintosh computers and AppleTalk network services, when connected through a modem). Apple has also included demo samples of applications from a variety of third parties that focus on areas pertinent to mobile computing. The current software sampler includes applications from After Hours Software (TouchBase), Attain Corporation Inc. (InControl), Now Software Inc. (Up-to-Date), Pastel Development (DayMaker), Portfolio Software (Dynodex), Strategic Mapping Inc. (Local Expert), and The Voyager Company (Electronic Books). These are products that help organize contact information, addresses and schedules, that provide travel information and that help the user manage personal information they want to have with them when away from their office or home. Pricing and Distribution The PowerBook 165 will be available immediately in the United States through authorized Apple resellers. It will come equipped with a rechargeable nickel-cadium battery, AC adapter, System 7.1 software, HyperCard 2.1, training software and complete learning and reference documentation.
