Dow Drops Below 7,000 for First Time in 11 Years

The Dow Jones Industrial Average has dropped below 7,000 for the first
time in eleven years. The market has now lost almost one quarter of its
value this year and more than half since its high in October 2007. The
sell-off came as insurance giant AIG announced it had lost a record $62
billion in the last three months of 2008.
