Steele and Limbaugh Spar Over Republican Leadership

And Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele has apologized to
right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh after the two engaged in a public
fight over the leadership of the Republican Party. Limbaugh countered,
saying Steele was off to a shaky start as RNC chair and claimed that
Steele was not actually the head of the Republican Party after Steele
said on CNN, “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh’s whole
thing is entertainment. Yes, it is incendiary. Yes, it is ugly.” After
Steele came under criticism for his comment, he apologized, saying, “My
intent was not to go after Rush. I have enormous respect for Rush
Limbaugh. I was maybe a little bit inarticulate…There was no attempt on
my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”
