Hugo Chávez’s Party Retains Control of Venezuelan Parliament

In news from Latin America, Hugo Chávez’s Socialist Party has retained
control of the Venezuelan parliament after Sunday’s elections. Chávez’s
party won ninety-eight of the 165 seats in the National Assembly.
Opposition parties won sixty-five seats. Both camps have claimed the
election results are a victory for their side.
