Vermont House Approves Single-Payer Healthcare Bill 
----------------------------------------------------



Vermont is poised to become the first state to establish a single-payer
healthcare system guaranteeing coverage to all residents. On Thursday,
lawmakers in Vermont's State House approved the final version of a
universal health care bill on a 94 to 49 vote. Vermont Governor Peter
Shumlin says he will sign the bill into law within the next two weeks.
