October 21, 2011 Clinton Warns Pakistan on Militants ------------------------------------ Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in Pakistan today for a meeting with top Pakistani officials including President Asif Ali Zardari. Clinton's visit follows a trip to Afghanistan, where she warned of more unilateral actions inside Pakistan unless the Pakistani government follows U.S. demands to confront militants. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "We must send a clear, unequivocal message to the government and people of Pakistan that they must be part of the solution and that means ridding their own country of terrorists who kill their own people and cross the border to kill in Afghanistan, I think how we increase that pressure and how we make that commitment, the subject of the conversation that president Karzai and I have had and that I will have in Pakistan, but we are looking to the Pakistanis to lead on this because there is no place to go any longer." .
