January 12, 2012 Lawsuit Filed Seeking Info On Use of Drones Inside United States ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Electronic Frontier Foundation filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Federal Aviation Administration seeking more information on how law enforcement agencies are using unmanned drones inside the United States. The FAA has reportedly authorized more than 270 drone flights inside the United States, with 35 percent being flown by the Pentagon, 11 percent by NASA and 5 percent by the Department of Homeland Security. Jennifer Lynch, attorney for EFF, says, "The use of drones in American airspace could dramatically increase the physical tracking of citizens — tracking that can reveal deeply personal details about our private lives." .
