Syria Rejects Arab League Request for Assad to Hand Over Power

Syria has rejected a request by the Arab League for President Bashar
al-Assad to hand over power to a deputy and set up a new unity
government. Syria described the proposal as a violation of its national
sovereignty and flagrant interference in internal affairs.
