January 30, 2012 Iraq Outraged Over Expanded Use of U.S. Drones ----------------------------------------------- The New York Times is reporting senior Iraqi officials are outraged over the State Department's stepped up use of unarmed surveillance drones following the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops. Iraqis have complained the drones are an affront to Iraqi sovereignty. One Iraqi official said: “Our sky is our sky, not the U.S.A.’s sky.” The State Department is said to have about two dozen drones in Iraq. Some have wingspans as short as 18 inches. .
