Kerry: Israel Should "Look Hard" at 2002 Arab Peace Offer

The move comes as Secretary of State John Kerry continues an effort to
renew Israeli-Palestinian peace talks for the first time since 2010.
Speaking in Jordan, Kerry said he thinks Israel should consider the
long-standing Arab League peace initiative that pledges normalized
relations and full recognition if Israel withdraws completely from the
occupied territories seized in 1967.

Secretary of State John Kerry: "Israel needs to look hard at this
initiative, which promises Israel peace with 22 Arab nations and 35
Muslim nations — a total of 57 nations that are standing and
waiting for the possibility of making peace with Israel."

Israel has long dismissed the original Arab peace offer because it wants
to keep the large, illegal settlement blocs in the occupied West Bank.
