Haqqani Network Leader Shot Dead in Pakistan

A top leader of the Haqqani militant group was shot dead Sunday night
outside a bakery on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
The Haqqani network is a key force in the insurgency currently battling
U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The victim, Nasiruddin Haqqani, was the son
of the group's founder, the brother of its current leader and a top
fundraiser for the group. No one has claimed responsibility for his
killing.
