Border Patrol Rejects Curbs on Deadly Force

The U.S. Border Patrol has rejected calls to stop the use of deadly
force against people throwing rocks. A government-backed task force
recently urged the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency to ban
agents from shooting at rock-throwers and assailants in vehicles. The
recommendation came as part of a review sparked by the deadly shootings
of 19 people by border agents since 2010. But speaking to the Associated
Press, Border Patrol Chief Mike Fisher said the proposed changes would
put agents in danger.
