U.N. Elevates Warning Level for Iraq as Refugees Top 1.5 Million

The United States now has close to 1,000 military personnel in Iraq and
continues to launch airstrikes on Islamic State militants in the north.
The United Nations, meanwhile, has elevated Iraq's humanitarian crisis
to a level three, its most dire warning, with more than 1.5 million
people displaced.
