U.S. Strengthens Protections for Transgender Workers

The Obama administration has announced a new interpretation of federal
law that protects transgender workers from discrimination. The shift
expands protections in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, allowing the
Justice Department to sue state and local governments if they violate
the rights of transgender employees.
